"Welcome to my lab"
Professor Toredo, an expert of pokemon genetics, has learned how to trade specific genes between two pokemon of the same species line, allowing him to essentially trade one pokemon's ability for another, and even grant one pokemon's egg moves to another. Of course, despite being a professor he isn't exactly rolling in cash, so he is keeping the exact process a trade secret in order to charge trainers for the privalege of doing it himself.
Of course, with such a tricky process, there are some rules...
- Same species line : Egg moves can only be swapped between the same species line. For instance a Goomy can trade acid armor for a move from Goodra, however acid armor cannot be swapped from a grimer directly to a goodra, even if both moves swapped are compatible with both pokemon.
- No more than four : Egg moves can only be traded onto a Pokemon who has not yet achieved 4 egg moves prior to the trade. In rare cases, some Pokemon may already have 5 egg moves or more due to egg move granting events. In this case, the Pokemon can still have 5 egg moves, so long as one egg move is traded out for another.
- Prior-Evo Moves: In the case of stone evolving pokemon like Arcanine, who lose access to a lot of their moves upon evolution, these moves can also be traded. (Essentially, if a pokemon learns something in an earlier stage that it cannot learn when evolved, you can use this system to swap the moves along)
- Make specific requests : PCs must be checked with every request, so ensure you name both pokemon correctly, and what move each pokemon has to trade. A mod shout must then be made to catch the admins attention. Moves will only be swapped once an admin has confirmed the trade and subtracted muns from your account.
- outlying cases : In the case one of the two partners in the trade cannot learn a move that is being traded, a random move will be rolled by a mod to replace it. The move will be one the recieving pokemon can learn naturally between level 1 and 50 much like a wild spawn.
As an example, Blaziken can learn blaze kick, torchic cannot, so if blaze kick is swapped for an EM, a random move will be rolled instead.
FURTHERMORE. It is not a mod's job to check this. We request everyone attempting such a trade check this themselves beforehand, and make it clear that the recieveing pokemon cannot naturally learn the move. Mods will be asked to double check if they do not feel confident, but it would be extremely helpful if you yourselves check beforehand. - Cost : Finally, the process for swapping costs 30 muns. This is expensive, but we believe is justified, as otherwise you would have to fully re-train the pokemon from scratch, while this process can avoid said steps.
