“You… you want me to do what, now?!”
This was the initial exclamation of surprise from Damian as he’d reported back to the higher-ups of the Verian Pokémon League after that rather…interesting encounter with the Interpol Commander he’d had. Normally, he didn’t mind having to tell his superiors what had to be done, but in this case, it was somewhat…special.
“Are you… you’ve got to be kidding me… are you serious?” he continued over the phone, sighing as his own face screwed up into a look of evident frustration. While all of the Verian Gym Leaders had responsibilities to some extent, he wasn’t expecting his to extend over to being one of the main Interpol liaisons for the League itself; mostly this was because he knew one of the part-time agents (Josh) personally. However, this was a whole different thing altogether…
He then sighed through his nose as he reached for a piece of paper and began scribbling down notes. “So, you want me to escort the Commander through the Wasteland… and check things out? That’s it? And serve as back-up?” he confirmed, while finishing the sentence in the back of his mind, “…are you sure he needs back-up? I mean, he’s stronger than I am at this point, that’s for sure. I’m just a crackpot Gym Leader who has birds on the brain…” as he went over the notes one more time.
“Alright, alright, I’ll take care of this…”
…it had been several days since that very interesting encounter, and sometime had also passed since he’d agreed to take on the simple mission of showing Rhafiel—well, Amon—around the Alterna Wasteland. While he knew of the area’s early mythos before it became the oasis it was known for today, there was just…something that weirded him out about the eerie stillness of the Wasteland itself.
While he’d been in Caravella when shit had gone down (and he’d subsequently spotted Meloetta) the way this patch of land had come into existence was just too…unnerving. While he wasn’t an Aura practitioner like his father was—or had a touch of Psychic abilities like his aunt Zarya—there was just something that was really too…creepy to put into words whenever the patch of ‘dead’ land would be mentioned.
All the same, he’d decided to come with a full team of five—well, six, but only because Loki was hiding in his shadow again. He’d also brought along a decent supply writing materials, which he’d crammed into his jacket. For some reason, he’d grabbed one of the multicolored ink pens alongside his normal stash of writing materials—he couldn’t fathom why he’d decided to bring that one along with him today.
“Well… where is he…” he muttered, watching and waiting around the edge of the Wasteland proper; Loki the Sableye having hefted himself out of his master’s shadow and standing guard as well just in case they were prematurely jumped by the feral wild Pokémon that called the Alterna Wasteland home now.

Mission Name: Investigating the Wasteland
Participants: Damian Moreau & Rhafiel Diederich
Catching?: No
Spawning: Four pairs fully-evolved spawns with a full moveset of 8 moves each (no EMs) [basically, the two get 1 fully-evolved spawn each] with two hordes of fully-evolved "Boss" Pokémon for the final battle
Mission details: With the new Interpol Commander being briefed about the situation at the Alterna Wastelands, it's about time the area got a much closer inspection! Wild, feral Pokémon threats aside, there's something...unusual about the area that reeks of a powerful stench of aura that normal people cannot sense, which prompts further investigation. Is it possibly Xerneas?
Reward: More intel & additional information on the current state of the Alterna Wasteland as a whole for Interpol's use; along with 50 Munnies reward for both participants for helping thin out the feral Pokémon threat.
