Welcome to the Star Festival Contest! [Intro by Teki, posted on his behalf] Just like the night before, as midnight approached, people, contest goers, audience members, and judges all found their seats as familiar music played over speakers, filling the air with the same kind of energy that always came before contests. The whole place was filled with chatter as the camera crews found their position once again. The clock hit midnight, and on cue, the announcer, the idol Jasmine, walked on stage again. Like before, she was wearing a themed dress, but while yesterday’s evoked space itself, with its long and flowy nature and imagery of galaxies and darker colors, today’s was much brighter and passionate. Dancing again to the music as the spotlight hit her and she got onto the stage, she all but shone in her new, orange-yellow outfit. This time it was more like a cheerleader’s uniform, consisting of a top and a short skirt emblazoned with the imagery of fire, glittering and shining underneath the light. If her outfit yesternight evoked the night, her new one evoked the day, eschewing soft colors and flowing fabric for brightness and perkiness. She stepped to the front of the stage as the crowd cheered, smiling and letting them continue on as the music faded to the background again, putting a finger to her head and winking at the crowd – her trademark pose. “Hell-oooooooooooooooooooo everybody! How are ya’ll doin’ to-NIGHT?!” She grinned cutely, pausing to let the crowd scream their hearts out. “That’s what I like to hear! Liggs people got a lot of energy and I love it!” Bouncing softly to the judges table, the fanservicey idol daintily sat between the Professor and the blue-haired girl, crossing one leg over the other as she kept her eyes on the camera. “You all know me, the lovely idol Jasmine, but for those of you just tuning in at home, let’s give our judges a brief intro!” First, she motioned to Michiru, “The first judge is a local, a fantastic photographer, a Pokémon Professor, and I hear quite a fan of sweet treats, Michiru Morgause!” She paused, letting the crowd cheer for the first judge, then used her mother hand to motion to the next judge. “This one over here, a quick replacement for the judge that fell sick too soon – and one that doesn’t wanna share too much about herself -” she added with a playful pout, “Is Lucia Hale!” The crowd cheered again, and as she did, she slipped off, walking behind the third judge and hugging her tightly, making her blush slightly in surprise. “And this lovely girl here is a Unovan native, a paragon of the Trainer spirit, AND a Champion hopeful, Emily Styles!” She giggled into the microphone as the crowd cheered for the final judge, stepping away to approach the crowd again. “Tonight’s the second night of the Star Festival contest, and that means it’s the Performance round! That means bigger shows, bigger stakes! Tonight’s the night where winners will be decided! Everything’s coming down tonight, but-!”She paused, the music having faded away entirely, the stage lights slowly darkening, even her own spotlight, as she smirked confidently, looking directly at the camera as she spoke lower, having a sudden change in tone, a sort of playful seriousness. “Are you ready?” With that, the light on her was gone, and the spotlight hit the first contestant as they came out.

Late at night when all the world is safe Within their dreams
| Late at night a restless feeling takes Control of me and I can't fight it
| 0907 words Performers | The second night of the contest. She wasn't as anxious as the previous night. After all Kazuma had chased her down after her Appeals. He had made her feel better. She was now more confident than ever. They had been practicing for this for so long now. She felt amazing and her hard work on all of their outfits had paid off, each one looked amazing.
The announcer called her name to the stage. It was now or never. Taking a deep breath her Pokemon at her side. This time she had only four Pokemon with her.
Fizzle the Joltik had been situated in a deep purple rose, that had been pinned above her right ear, in her still Midnight blue hair. Though she had taken out the contacts. Her hair was now in a high braid dappled with stars. She now wore a low cut royal blue Halter dress that bared her ivory legs and dropped to down to the center of her sternum. Her feet now clad in a pair of lack strap velvet heels with a large bow on the ankle. Around her left wrist rested a shifting opal gem in a silver bracelet. A crescent moon and stars choker was clasped around her throat.
She knew her outfit was a bit lack luster, but hoped her performance would do more than make up or it. Tesla the pure black Luxray with the shocking blue eyes. His pelt had been speckled to look like the the Star sign Leo. A Sylveon wore a dress of blue silk with glimmering gems speckling its shimmering surface. A large gleaming Silver Skarmory hovered near her shoulder, the beats of his wings causing the stars in Alanna's hair to vibrate and shimmer.
The powerful beat of percussion drums and the twang of cymbals being tapped began to play, the young woman tapping her toe to the beat. Luxray and Sylveon tapping a single front paw to the lively beat. The beat was soon joined by the lively call of a muted trumpet. As the beat began to speed up Woman and Pokemon bobbed lightly as they tapped to the beat, which then seemed to scratch and fade. As it did Sylveon tossed a Mic headset to the young woman and she slid it on, a bright cheerful smile was now spread across her now bright red lips.
"Alright guys are you ready?" She asked her Pokemon in a bright clear and cheerful voice. Her voice playing over the loud speakers, more because she was worried that her Pokemon wouldn't be able to hear her.
As the beat picked back up, Alanna took the Joltik from her hairpin and tossed it into the air. "Electro Web" She tossed the tiny Pokemon into the air, as it went high it launched an electrified web, as it came down, the Skarmory caught it and helped to string the web around the stage lights. Leaving what appeared to be a vibrating and pulsing net. It seemed to pulse to the beat of the music.
The young woman spun, as the Luxray and Sylveon danced around her in small circles each going the opposite direction of the other. The Skarmory seemed to be weaving in and out of the Web as the Joltik spun more and more. "Fairy Wind!" The Sylveon leaped into the air unleashing a shimmering cloud of dust, that spread over the stage making everything glitter. It even clung to the web, now making the Glowing and pulsing web seem to shimmer like a universe.
"Double Swift!" Alanna and the Luxray both still danced effortlessly over the stage bobbing and weaving around each other, putting in effortless twirls and spins, the lingering glimmer of the Fairy wind seeming to make them sparkle. The Swift attacks were launched from both Sylveon and Skarmory, the attacks were caught in the vibrating, glowing and shimmering web. They clung stars in a night sky.
Just as the music began to fade again the Alanna Spun as the music began to fade a bit. "Thunder" Just as the music spend back up The Luxray released a powerful torrent of lightening bolts that caused the web to start pulsing and shimmering even brighter, the swift attacks still stuck in the web began to grow brightly. "Moon Blast!" The Sylveon Paused giving a cry and summoning a glowing moon that dropped and began bouncing over the pulsing web.
Just as the music hit its final up beat, the young woman grinned. "Hyper Beam, Shadow Ball, Air Slash Go!" She cried raising her hand above her head. Luxray aimed a powerful beam of light at the web of attacks, as sylveon launched a black sphere of energy, and the Skarmory released a powerful barrage of wind like blades. All the attacks collided on the web, making them burst like fireworks, in an array of colorful explosions.
All five on stage took poses of glamour, as the Music ended and the lights faded. This time instead of rushing off stage in terror Alanna nearly skipped off the stage in glee. It was hard to contain the excitement. She was finding herself falling in love with being able to show the world just how amazing her Pokemon really were. How much care and love she put into raising them.

The stage was dark again before the next performance, but as a soft piano melody and female voice filled the air, the spotlight flicked up into the right-hand corner where a Skarmory jumped from the perch and began to fly left, the light following it. Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shootin' stars? I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now~ As the Skarmory turned forward to circle back, two shining Cosmic Powers burst from below shimmering upward. Several spotlights flicked on revealing two shields up Minior twisting and twirling in slow circles mimicking the Skarmory. Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shootin' stars? I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now~ The sparkling stars of a Wish burst through the darkness reflecting an Audino briefly in the darkness.
A spotlight from above dropped down to reveal Lucien standing behind them. Dressed in loose fitting white track pants, a black muscle shirt, and a track jacket that matched the pants, he stood sideways, one knee slightly bent a hand on the brim of a cap barely on his head. His messy hair was everywhere. Twisting around a microphone in one hand, he raised it to his lips. “Yo, yeah ah could use a dream er ah genie er a wish ta go back ta a place much simpler den this,” Lucien rapped out to the beat, shifting his body forward and walking forward, his knees bouncing him. On his shoulder, a Lurantis swayed with him.
“Cuz afta all the partyin’ ‘n smashin’ ‘n crashin’ and ahl tha glitz ‘n tha gram ‘n tha fashion, ‘n all tha pandemonium ‘n all tha madness der comes a time when ya fade ta tha blackness,” On cue the lights flicked off for a second. “ ‘n yer starin’ at the phone ‘n yer lap and ya hopin’ but them people never call ya back.” The Minior froze in mid motion, and the Skarmory stopped the circle.
” ‘Ut dat’s jus’ how tha story unfolds, ya get another hand soon afta ya fold. And when ya plans unravel ‘n tha sand what do ya wish for ‘f ya hand one chance?” The shimmer of a Wish went flying forward again lighting up the stage. This time, the Skarmory lowered his head, opened his maw, and released a Swift down on the Minior, not enough to break their shields just yet. “So airplane airplane sorreh ah’m late. Ah’m on mah way so dun close dat gate. ‘F ah dun make that then ah’ll switch my flight ‘n I’ll be right back at it by the end of the night!” The Skarmory went circling again, and the Minior changed to spin around each other.
Lucien lowered the microphone as the recorded voice went on. Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shootin' stars ~ I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now Gesturing right, he seemed to summon stars as yet another Wish was called forth. Throwing out his left hand, however, he made a hand flick gesture, and a Clefable came jumping from the darkness to Meteor Mash the stars causing them to explode into smaller stars. Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shootin' stars~I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now~
“Yeh, s’mbody take me back ta tha day, before dis was a job before ah gawt paid, before it ever mattered what ah had ‘n my bank, yeah back when ah was tryin’ to getta tip ‘t subway,” Lucien went on again shifting with each sharp inflection of his voice. One hand moved exclusively with the beat forming several different signs. The tiny Lurantis shifted along with Lucien in synch. “N back then ah wuz rappin’ fer tha hell’fet, but nowah days we rappin’ ta stay relevant. I’m guessin’ if we can make some wishes out of airplanes den maybeh oh maybeh ah’ll go back ta tha days-“ Raising a hand up he pointed to the Skarmory who’d just passed.
“Before tha politics that we call tha rap game an’ back when ain’t nobody listen to mah mix tape, ‘n back before when ah tried ta cover up mah slang. But dis’s fer the Decatour what’s up Luci- Mae” Tossing a finger he pointed at Alamea on ‘Mae’. The Lurantis shifted and pointed back. “So c’n ah getta wish ta end tha politics an’ get back ta tha music dat started this shit, so ‘ere ah stan’ and then again ah say I’m hopin’ we can make some wishes outta airplanes.”
Raising a hand as the female chorus went on again, Lucien pointed to the Skarmory. The Skarmory once more opened his maw and released a Swift down on the Minior whose shields finally broke revealing an orange core and yellow core. Both Minior spun around one another and released several Cosmic Powers shining bright. Another Wish came jump and was Meteor Mashed bringing more light on stage. “Ah wish, a wish right now!” Lucien called out at the very end before giving a bow.

Seraph wasn’t really feeling great about tonight. He was still excited to perform, he guessed, but… He’d made such a massive amateur screw-up the night before. Apparently his brain absorbed the part of the rules that stated “contestants can use as many Pokemon as they want” and completely forgotten or missed the immediately following within a 6-party limit. This was upsetting both for how it hurt his appeal and in that it meant… he had to use only some of them to perform? But… they were a family and he loved them all and hated breaking them up. (He may have argued to get the 6 he wasn't using tonight permission to sit backstage or in the audience to watch their kin, but apparently there were concerns about contributing to the performance from off-stage, which was a fair concern he guessed, but still bleh.)
Be that as it may, though, he’d managed to pull together some of his ideas from before he got them with a few he had planned for the mass of them to get what he hoped was a pretty good last minute routine with a more mixed party for tonight.
It also concerned him that the other contestants had come up with more than one outfit, while he’d only picked one for both rounds. Man, he really needed to get back into watching contests if he was gonna pursue this… He did see at least one other girl backstage in the same outfit from last night, though, so that made him feel… almost better, heh.
And at least Luci’s performance brought a smile to his face, even if competing against family was yet another source of nerves...
Whatever qualms he had, though, when his turn came he took a deep breath and-- well, the intro to his song would help, wouldn’t it? He walked out onto a mostly dark stage and light synth beats faded in over the speakers.
Close your tired eyes, relaxing them. Count from 1 to 10 and open them. He closed his eyes just before the words started and breathed in and out slowly through the first two lines as his Pokemon came out. From the audience’s-left side of the stage, three Solrock-- two average-ish ones and the big one-- floated in and arced over Seraph with a light shower of Cosmic Power to light up the dark field, while from the right an Alolan Raichu and indigo Minior-- shell down from the start to prepare, Seraph feeling the reveal aspect a little overdone at this point-- glided in, both airborne but only barely. Over the course of the next line, a Chinchou would come hobbling in after its much speedier companions. All these heavy thoughts will try to weigh you down, but not this time.
As ‘not this time’ rang over the speakers, Raichu and Minior rose, while Chinchou looked up after them, ground bound. Seraph looked down to him pointedly, a sympathetic expression on his face, and the big Solrock began to descend. Way up in the air, you're finally free-- The other four Pokemon danced in a large circle overhead, while the big Solrock formed a Stone Edge point at the bottom of its lower spoke and stabbed itself into the floor of the stage, firmly grounding itself center stage, inches from Seraph, who had moved just enough to give it the spot; Chichou came over curiously. --and you can stay up there, right next to me. Solrock used Skill Swap, and orbs of light began rapidly flowing out of and into each Pokemon. All this gravity-- Chinchou slowly lifted off the ground as his ability became Levitate --will try to pull you down, but not this time! Chinchou flew up to join the others in the center of their circle.
When the sun goes down, and the lights burn out, then it's time for you to shine. The lights dimmed across the stage, while Chinchou’s lures lit brighter and brighter. Brighter than a shooting star! He used Dazzling Gleam as he flew to the front of the stage. So shine no matter where you are! Both the still airborne Solrock used Flare Blitz to shoot across the stage, crossing over each other’s paths one just a little farther back than the other to avoid colliding.
Fill the darkest night, with a brilliant light, 'cause it's time for you to shine. Brighter than a shooting star, so shine no matter where you are, tonight! Raichu lit himself with a psychic glow, and Minior with its own Dazzling Gleam, and the three of them swirled around above the stage while one Solrock scattered Cosmic Power stars and the other used Psywave to distort and scatter the stars. Down below, a slow pulse of light began emanated from the big Solrock onto the stage, spreading across the floor and up the sides and curtain until it filled the stage with Wonder Room.
Wo-oah, wo-oah, wo-oah. Brighter than a shooting star! While the other Solrock began to glow, the big one used Psychic to lift Seraph in the air to join his Pokemon. Chinchou glided over to meet him, landing in his arms, and Seraph gave him a bright smile and a hug before letting him go. Shine no matter where you are, tonight. The Solrock, on opposite sides of the stage, fired simultaneously Solar Beams, colliding into a blinding explosion of light as everyone repositioned.
Gaze into my eyes, when the fire starts-- Raichu took center stage now, sending a spray of Attract hearts in an arc overhead --and fan the flame so hot, it melt our hearts. Two Fire Spins courtesy of the Solrock swept the hearts up, and collided, bursting all the hearts within as the flames ‘fanned’ out in a different sense.
Further back and above them, Chinchou fired a Hydro Pump into the air. All the pouring rain, will try to put it out, but not this time. One of the Solrock sent up a Sunny Day, evaporating much of the water as it fell back down, and the rest scattered into a thin mist by the other Solrock’s Psywave.
Seraph floated around the stage, still held by the big Solrock’s Psychic, and Raichu began firing Electro Balls in his direction, twirling mid-air to change direction as needed. Let your colours burn, and brightly burst-- The other Pokemon began firing at the balls in turn, with Solar Beams and Power Gem, bursting a few like fireworks. Rather than join them immediately, Chinchou surrounded himself with an Ion Deluge, the hovering particles glittering around him and lingering in the air. --into a million sparks, that all disperse and-- The speedy Raichu had been firing faster than the others could keep up, 5 Electro Balls still unaccounted for around the stage, and Chinchou used a 5-spoked Discharge like a giant star to hit all of them, bursting them in unison. --illuminate a world, that'll try to bring you down, but not this time.
As the chorus played again, Chinchou combined his Ion Deluge with an Aqua Ring, the floating bits of water beautifully reflecting the sparks and the light of his lures, and making him glitter and glisten twice as much. Raichu used Double Team, and he and his doppelgangers flew around the stage in patterns. The Solrock, Minior, and Seraph all pursued some, and on each line as the chorus sang “shooting star”, Solrock’s Flare Blitz or Minior’s Swift would dissipate a fake Raichu, until at the end, Seraph caught the real one, hugging him tight… and letting his feet rest on the surfboard tail.
A thousand heartbeats beating time, and makes this dark planet come alive. So when the lights flicker out tonight, you gotta shiiiine.
As the rhythm of the song changed, the big Solrock dropped Seraph, letting Raichu take over carrying him, and added a layer of Trick Room on top of the Wonder Room effect. Unlike the purely visual in this context effect of the first room move, this one had noticeable changes. Chinchou became the fastest Pokemon on the stage, zooming around excitedly in all his glittering glory, occasionally flaring up with a Dazzling Gleam on heavy beats. One of the airborne Solrock and the grounded one used repeated Cosmic Powers and the Minior used Swift for some variation in star size and style, while the remaining Solrock used Psywave on all the effects to spread them into a sea of stars. Meanwhile, the Raichu had become one of the slowest Pokemon present (the Minior’s difference not apparent since it wasn’t trying to move much), and as opposed to Zooming around as before and as per his nickname, he and Seraph slowly rocked back and forth through the air, leisurely riding over the psywaves.
This continued through the first half of the final chorus, the stage filling with more and more stars, a thicker and thicker sea for Raichu to surf. When they finally deemed it enough, the big Solrock used Psychic to lift himself off the ground to join the others, and allowed both Rooms to dissipate, returning everyone’s speed to normal. On top of that, Seraph held on tight as Raichu used Agility and began darting around, whipping out a glowing green strand of energy-- a Grass Knot-- to swing through the stars, lassoing some to fling out over the audience. Fill the darkest night, with a brilliant light, 'cause it's time for you to shine! Brighter than a shooting star, so shine no matter where you are, tonight.
The other Pokemon had been changing positions, and as they came into the final lines-- Wo-oah, wo-oah, wo-oah-- Raichu moved to center stage, Seraph still behind him. Minior dashed overhead and sprinkled a single final rain of Cosmic Power over the stage. Brighter than a shooting star! One Solrock moved far behind Seraph, and Chinchou came to rest on the top spoke of its head. As the big Solrock flew through the stars Minior had left behind with a Flare Blitz, the Solrock and Chinchou combo fired off Discharge and Fire Blast-- Shine no matter where you are-- and the last Solrock swooped in behind Seraph to shield him with a Protect just in time, causing a massive burst of fire and electricity to disperse in all directions behind him as he and Raichu struck a pose for the final-- tonight!
Staring out at the cheering crowd when the song was done, Seraph realized something. There was some tough competition here, and his major screw-up before pretty well guaranteed he couldn’t win-- not that he’d had too high of hopes for his somewhat impulsive contest debut to start-- but man… He loved performing. And he was pretty sure his Pokemon did, too.

It was the night of the performance at last and Elayne was a bundle of nerves. All the time she put into practicing just for this moment were going to finally pay off. Her pokemon had done well in the appeals, but this was what it all came down to. The contestants that had already gone before her were impressive in their own right, but she couldn't let her nerves get the best of her. Tonight's performance would be difficult to pull off but Elayne was confident, she trusted her Pokemon and in all the hard work they had put into perfecting the performance over the past few weeks. They had undergone a lot of training and even Elayne had tried a few new things to make sure everything went smoothly. Now, it came down to the last finishing touches and making sure that everything looked perfect. Elayne had worked hard to try and come up with a way that she could show off with her Pokemon. Placing the finishing touches on her makeup, Elayne turned towards her Pokemon and their matching apparel. Though Eclipse would still be enhancing the performance with her illusions, her other Pokemon had costumes on as well, each showing off a different element of space. Zoroark had no need for a costume considering she would mostly be in the background but the others had been carefully painted so they wouldn't be relying on just illusions to make them appear to be from space. Elly the Espeon shimmered and sparkled with a variety of colors in order to mimic the appearance of the Northern Lights. Trixie the Umbreon looked like she was covered in stars and galaxies that twinkled whenever she moved. Allie the Sylveon, Kaida the Horsea, and Conrad the Vaporeon had all been painted to looks like pink and blue nebulas respectively that shimmered with an otherworldly appearance. Elayne's hair had been put up and held in place with several silver stars and constellation clips and pins. A little silver glitter and eyeshadow completed the ensemble that made her look as if she was made from the stars themselves, just like her dress appeared to be. As soon as the last performer went off the stage, Elayne took a deep breath and waited silently for the few props she had requested to be placed on the stage. The long shallow pool wasn't much, but it was crucial if her plan for the performance was going to work. The stage was placed in complete darkness while Eclipse's illusions hid the rest of her party from view until the time came. Adjusting her violin one last time, Elayne took her place in the middle of the shallow pool and slowly began to play a melody as a Smokescreen and Misty Terrain swirled together, creating what looked to be like a dark pink fog that swirled around Elayne and the other Pokemon that were still hidden from view for the time being. A blue spotlight focused on Elayne as she began to play. Just as the soft sound of drums and chimes joined in, a Surf created a pillar of water with her Horsea and Vaporeon in the center. The Vaporeon and Horsea swam around in the pillar of water together, illuminated by a brief Dazzling Gleam from the still hidden Sylveon. The light faded just as quickly as it had come before more lights illuminated the stage and several Swifts were formed, both filling the pillar of water and circling Elayne just as the Vaporeon swam to the top of the pillar of water. Voices joined the sound of the violin just as the Umbreon made an appearance next to Elayne and used Moonlight, illuminating the darkness further and casting an eerie glow on the swirling black and pink mist that obscured most of the stage High is the moon tonight~. Elayne's hands raised to motion to the moon, illustrating just what the words were saying. Now at the top of the pillar, the Vaporeon surfaced and used Rain Dance, darkening the stage with clouds and effectively hiding the moon. [color=tealHiding its guiding light high~[/color][/b]. Spinning briefly, Elayne used her feet to purposely splash the water filling the pool up as soft rain started to fall, giving off the appearance of stars falling to the earth thanks to the illusions cast by the Zoroark. Heaven and earth do sleep~ more stars filled the sky thanks to a few Swifts as an Espeon revealed herself and looked up at Elayne as she continued to dance, using Psychic to make the stars dance in time with the music while Elayne used the water to create almost a wall at just the perfect moment a Light Screen appeared. The Vaporeon jumped off the pillar of water just as Umbreon disappeared again, disappearing into the darkness thanks to the illusions. Horsea began to swim faster and faster, creating a Twister that twirled with a Dark Pulse, enhanced with illusions to create what appeared to be a black hole. Still in the dark so deep~ The black hole seemed to suck all of the stars inside, plunging the stage into an almost complete darkness before a bright Dazzling Gleam filled the area just as I will the darkness sweep~ was heard. I will the moon to flight~ Another Moonlight was used as Umbreon stepped forward once again, dancing with the other Eeveelutions as more stars filled the air with Swift. I will the heavens bright, I will the earth delight Yet another Dazzling Gleam was cast, this time combined with an Aurora Beam to create something akin to the Northern Lights before it vanished as if it had been just a dream. More stars were formed from the Eeveelutions before being controlled by Psychic, filling the air with stars that now seemed to be flying through the air faster and faster. Open your eyes with me, see paradise with me~ Horsea used another Surf, creating another pillar of water that it jumped to before using Dragon Dance. Awake and arise with me~. All of the Eeveelutions were illuminated one after the other as each seemed to 'sing' with the voices. I am the dawn, I'm the new day begun~ As the chorus began, the clouds parted as the Rain Dance dissipated just as another Dazzling Gleam was used combined with a Dragon Pulse and Aurora Beam to create what could have very well been a a shooting star that raced across the stage. I bring you the morning, I bring you the sun~ A rather dark 'Minior' appeared, bursting to reveal its core just as sun was heard. The 'Minior' flew around Elayne and the other Eeveelutions before crashing through the Surf pillar and disappearing again. I hold back the night and I open the skies~ Elayne smiled and seemed to direct the sea of stars gathering around them with her bow, directing them to fly around the audience as a Dragon Pulse chased them all down just as they circled back to the stage, showering Elayne and the Eeveelutions in fairy like dust. I give light to the world, I give sight to your eyes~ Another Dazzling Gleam lit up the stage as more stars appeared from Swift, once again directed by Psychic to swirl around the Eeveelutions and even weave in and out of them. The Sylveon and Umbreon jumped on a few of the stars, seeming to ride them briefly through the galaxy that was forming in front of their eyes. From the first of all time, until time is undone~ Elayne spun around, using the water to 'scatter' the stars that were joined by bubbles from a Bubble Beam that were frozen by Aurora Beam and Dark Pulse combination, eliciting rainbow sparkles that were swept up with the stars again. Forever and ever and ever and ever~ Umbreon used Dark Pulse just as Sylveon used Moonblast,, creating a spiral that was directed upward before it shattered in a beautiful array of rainbow sparkles that was swept up with Psychic, joining the stars from Swift in a large swirling galaxy. And I am the dawn and the sky and the sun~ Several Swifts were used in unison, each joining the swirling galaxy that seemed to grow bigger until another Moonblast was used in the direct center of the galaxy. I am one with the One, and I am the dawn~ The galaxy seemed to fold in on itself and explode all at once, spreading brilliant white lights all across the stage, forming new planets and galaxies of their own in turn. As the music built to a climax and more drums were heard, Elayne took that opportunity to adjust her violin once again and started to play, dancing across the stage and sweeping up walls of water combined with stars from Swift that only added to the brilliant space scenery being created on stage. The Surf pillar of water expanded and collapsed while the Horsea landed on Vaporeon's back as the rest of the Pokemon danced with Elayne. The water was caught by a Light Screen that prevented anyone in the audience from getting wet and was contained in the pool as Elayne continued to dance and play the violin, using her feet to kick up more water and stars that were sent into space, swirling around the audience and weaving in and out among the dancers. The stars seemed to move faster, carried aloft by a Psybeam and Psychic, simulating a journey through space. More comets and asteroids appeared (thanks to illusions) as it seemed Elayne and the Eeveelutions were not only dancing through space but creating new stars and galaxies. A Psychic combined with another Surf lifted Elayne up so that she was now standing upon the water pillar. A quick twirl seemed to bring make more stars swirled around her, and the pillar, almost hiding her from view. As the music built to a climax, the stars scattered and were shattered by several consecutive Moonblasts while others combined to form one large star. I am the sky and the dawn and the sun~ A Dazzling Gleam lit up the stage while in the center of the water pillar, Horsea used Bubble Beam to combine with the rainbow just as Vaporeon used Aurora Beam, sending more brilliant rainbow lights across the stage. I am the sky and the new day begun~ The stars continued to swirl while a Dragon Pulse joined them, seeming to swallow up the stars before suddenly exploding, followed immediately by consecutive Dazzling Gleams. I am the sky and the dawn and the sun~ An Aurora Beam circled the Dazzling Gleam, combined with a Moonblast and Morning Sun, revealing what appeared to be a bright 'Solrock' for the briefest of moments before it too seemed to explode, sending a wave of rainbow light across the stage and over the audience's heads just as the music stopped. Breathless, Elayne lowered her violin and stepped out of the pool, curtsying to the crowd next to her Pokemon. Sylveon, Umbreon, Horsea riding on top of Vaporeon, Espeon, and even Zoroark joined Elayne as they all took their bows. Sylveon, Vaporeon, and Espeon each used one last Swift that swirled around all seven on stage before the stars collided, revealing nothing but the stardust left as Elayne disappeared within the illusions cast by Zoroark. As soon as they got off stage, Elayne practically sank to the ground as her legs gave out. Her Pokemon rushed to her side in an instant, concerned about her but Elayne couldn't help but laugh as she hugged her Pokemon close. They had done it, they had really done it. Who knew performing could be so much fun! Words: 1956

“We'll begin, With a spin Traveling in The world of my creation What we'll see, Will defy Explanation ”
While Oberons garb was the same as the appeals round, his performance round would be entirely different. It showed in the costuming on the Sentret, which would be akin to armor - though each piece was made specifically for that Pokemon. The same could be said of Turtonator, though his was fashioned even more specifically to allow his option to let his shell explode on cue. Carefully Oberon checked over all his Pokemon, Freur was up on his shoulder this time. While in the appeals round he had been just set as a 'potential' familiar, this time he was acting as the space magicians familiar. Of course he would be assisting in setting the scene but equally, he was there to 'listen' and observe. It would be Silvanus, Lavaria and his still unnamed Minior that would be starring in this show. Come to think of it, he was dearly wishing he had an Abra or Zourak on his team. It would have made his act easier to pull off. Still, that would be something to handle later and maybe look out for. He approached the technician's booth, handing in his music and a sheet of paper with the musical cues - including timing - for the lighting. Final checks were made just before he stepped onto the darkened stage, the mask was still in place. Perfect. The stage was pitch black, and Freur used powder snow and blizzard to drop the temperature down - coating the stage in a fine layer of snow. "Come with me my friends, back to the beginning," he stated calmly a single spotlight highlighting just himself using a gesture to indicate for Freur to sit in front of him even as he moved to sit, to one side of the stage so as to not obstruct the planned play. During this movement, Silvanus and Lavaria had moved to center stage, though their positioning was center middle as opposed to front - left. "To a time when there were no planets, no life. Just fire and ice, and the void battling for supremacy,"
Perfectly timed to the musics crescendo twin spotlights appeared to light up Silvanus and Lavaria just as Lavaria used Incinerate to set off a blast of flame. Freur responded with a blizzard that fell all around the silver Sentret, who had retaliated with Foresight followed by a scratch. "This was a time of great conflict, both sides battling, trying to show to the other they were superior, that they should be the ones to create objects within the void of space," Oberons' voice was calm, clearly heard over the strident music, Freur assisting Silvanus with blizzard and Powder Snow from his position as well as the occasional ice beam to give the idea that the two were indeed fighting. To counter this Lavaria had responded with a rapid Iron Defence, giving a defiant cry as he moved to stand firmer against the onslaught and sending another Incinerate out towards the Sentret who dodged it - just. "Let us pause this battle though, let us examine more closely the two combatants, and their roles," this was stated as the strident music faded away to be replaced by something that while not calm and certainly indicated a growing might swelling and approaching, lacked the strident notes of the conflict music earlier. "Come little fox, let us see the two great forces that joined together to shape the universe," letting Freur come back onto his shoulder Oberon slowly stood to his feet moving gracefully to approach the combatants. "here we have Glacies, King of Ice, desiring to create frozen worlds, barren and uninhabitable," slowly Oberon had circled the Sentret who gave a proud cry scratching at the air before hopping up onto his tail throwing his best regal look... and ruining it as he overbalanced falling into a heap. He was quick to his feet though standing proudly as Oberon moved on, his cloak sparkling as the diamonds caught the light. "And here we have proud Ignis, King of Fire and Volcanos. His vision is a void filled with planets spewing fire and heat and lava, becoming barren wastelands equally uninhabitable...," Lavaria had responded to Oberons with a charge forward body slamming into the stage - careful not to make himself explode though. Not yet. "So, my friends, you may be wondering what happened to create the verdant world we live in," he'd moved carefully taking his position on the front right of the stage this time and retaking his seat. "I'll let you see now," throughout the carefully choreographed performance Minior had been carefully moving into position on the middle back of the stage. As the music crescendoed back up, becoming more strident and Lavaria and Silvanus resumed their battle the Minior revealled itself floating between them with a dazzling flash of all the lights temporarily illuminating the whole stage before all lights went off apart from the spotlights highlighting the actors. "An unknown being came forth from the depth of the void, and the two were scared, and sought to overthrow this being, sensing great power within it,"
As if on cue Silvanus and Lavaria started to direct their attacks no longer at each other but at the Minior, whose reaction was to spin higher and higher, the attacks bouncing off before finally it appeared to explode at the highest point of the music. Now its core was exposed, the hardened rocky exterior being held away from its body, and as if frightened both Silvanus and Lavaria fell back staring up at the Minior. "No matter what they tried though they could not defeat this being, and finally exhausted and scared by this change they stared up at the being. It was then that the being spoke to them," Oberon looked over at the audience for the first time. "Do you know what it told them?" the question was of course rhetorical. "It brought them a message, it told them this," then over the calmer music the music of reflection at the end of a battle, and this part had been prerecorded Oberons voice came but it was different. It sounded more ethereal, ancient and wiser. 'Although you two are different, you need to work together, aide each other. Alone your worlds would only be barren, empty worlds, with no life. You would be lonely. Together you can create a paradise, using my body as a basis, you can create miracles,' Oberon glanced at the audience again, the Minior had been moving as if speaking these words itself. Slowly Silvanus and Lavaria stood approaching each other warily before launching one last attack - the ice beam coming from Freur, and Lavaria chosing that point to use shell smash. At the same instant the Minior self destructed causing a blinding flash of light. Now the whole stage was in darkness apart from the spotlight on Oberon and Freur. Slowly one spotlight highlighted a globe, that had on it a perfect representation of the Pokemon world. "So it was our world was created, though it remained without life as we know it for many years," Slowly Oberon stood to his feet picking up Freur gently. "however, my friends, that is a tale for another time," he gave a smile as he moved to center front of the stage. "I trust you have enjoyed our tale, and that it may have given you some deeper insights," he gave a flourished bow, Freur tucked under one arm before he left the stage under total darkness. Silvanus and Lavaria had already taken the Minior off stage with them. 1395 words |

● waiting, contemplating... @tag / Starset - Telescope / 1,388 For the longest time, Andrea had been busting her brains on how to complete her Performance Round. Normally, when the theme was something she was familiar with, all she had to do was roll with it and just basically have a good time. But now, for the first time since forever, she was so freaking stumped as to how she was going to show off her mettle! While she hadn’t intended for her Appeals round to come off like some kind of a story, since that was the impression she’d already left with everyone else, she knew she had to continue said story—with the way she’d left the shit as a cliffhanger ending previously. Scheisse, scheisse, scheisse! What the hell am I going to use?! She thought, frantically racking her brains for a good idea. She was originally supposed to use a different batch of songs, but once she’d gone hopping around on the discographies and realized that there was this one that very nearly fit what she had in mind…
(Song is Starset - Telescope) Once the stage had been set up, she knew that her entrance was going to be a bit…unusual, seeing as she’d decided to keep the theme she already had going. This time, though, there were a few more ‘mons added to the mix—namely, three Minior she’d picked up along with a batch of “assistants” that had been decorated to resemble tiny, spinning planets. As the stage dimmed and the music for her Performance round began to blare over the speakers, Andrea was in the same astronaut costume again—and had a lapel mic on her. This time, I hope this works! She thought to herself, zipping up and getting into the harness before taking a soft breath, and beginning to sing the first few lines of the song. While the music playing over the speakers was just the melody, she hoped her voice would be able to carry enough emotion to speak out to the crowd as she began to sing: “You’re out there, I hear you calling from behind the star fields…”The stage was seemingly deserted, set up to look like the deepest reaches of space, but then and there the three Minior she had with her began to float out onto the stage, each resembling something like a shooting star. But of course, the main star of the show was her Cleffa, Hoshi—who was going to be in for the close encounter of the weird kind! Her Abra was hidden somewhere behind the space curtain, using its telekinetic prowess to make the Cleffa float through the air once more, as if wandering through the lost reaches of space, starting from the left side of the stage, accompanied by the three Minior. “I feel you, Radiating energy like eternal northern lights…”From the right side of the stage, out came Giorgio, the Elgyem—accompanied by what appeared to be three spacecraft—but in reality, her boyfriend had lent her three of his better drones; the better to add some extra pizzazz to her performance! While the Elgyem looked around, seemingly searching for something, the Minior on the opposite side of the stage began radiating their Cosmic Power, adding to the seemingly infinite twinkle that the dark backdrop was casting on the stage. “Far from the sun, Where no one knows…”The Cleffa then continued its seemingly solitary journey across space, accompanied by the three Minior, who were still emitting their Cosmic Power, acting as a beacon for the Elgyem on the right-hand side of the stage; while the little baby ‘mon began to Sing a soft song, hoping that even across the “silence” of outer space, its song would be heard. “I’ve watched you from My telescope.”At the same time this was taking place, the three drones that were orbiting around the Elgyem began to light up and spin; acting as its cohorts, and the Elgyem used Miracle Eye, as if scanning the inky blackness, looking for any sign of life as it made its lonely travail across the galaxy. “I will travel the distance in your eyes Interstellar light years from you…”The lone astronaut that was Andrea suddenly appeared from the top of the stage, descending ever so slowly with the rigged wiring, holding out her hands and scattering a rather liberal amount of black-and-silver glitter across the stage, bathing the five ‘mons (and three drones) with the light of an infinite amount of stars. At the same time, one of the Minior then used Shell Smash, revealing its orange core as she sang the next lines; “Supernova: we’ll fuse when we collide, Awaking in the light of all the stars aligned.”The orange-cored Minior then travelled further forward, near the very center of the stage, still radiating its Cosmic Power and bathing the stage in an unearthly glow, as the drones continued to circle around the Elgyem while the other two Minior followed the Cleffa as the two slowly traversed towards the center, where the orange Minior awaited them. “I see you, Washing over me across the sky— Overcoming,”At this point, the soft Singing of the Cleffa caught the Elgyem’s attention, and for the first time, the two unlikely travelers met each other; as the three Minior released burst after burst of Swift attacks, scattering the stage with stars as they moved closer and closer… “Projected on my eyes eternally I find you in the night.”Once she’d sung those lyrics, the entire stage suddenly went dark—with the soft glow of the orange Minior serving as the only illumination to guide the way of the travelers across the inky blackness. Even Andrea had vanished into the darkness of the stage at that time, thanks to the lights going out. Only her voice was floating over the performers down below, now. “Far from the sun, Where no one knows…”The second Minior then shot forward, using Shell Smash and revealing a yellow core, before circling and joining the orange-cored brother it had, radiating more light for the two travelers so that they would finally meet after journeying for so long across the vast, emptiness of space. “I’ve watched you from My telescope…”Here, one of the three ‘drones’ broke off, as if leaving the Elgyem behind so that the space traveler could reach its destination on its own. While the Psychic-type was shocked to see one of its “brethren” go, he knew that he had to go on—because that song the Cleffa was signing was driving him forward, as if entranced. “I will travel the distance in your eyes, Interstellar light years from you…”The two were very close to touching at that point—even the two drones that she was piloting from her vantage point up above had pulled away at that point, leaving the Elgyem to travel the rest of the way by itself. While the Cleffa still had one more Minior companion, the orange and yellow-cored Minior were now emitting a soft, thrumming Cosmic Power, as if guiding the two to meet—and then the last Minior then rocketed forward, Shell Smashing itself and revealing its red core before joining the other two, providing the Cleffa with the courage to move forward. As the two travelers finally met, thanks to the light of the three shining Minior that offered illumination in the dark, the Elgyem then reached out to touch the Cleffa—and with the Abra propelling it forward, the Cleffa them touched the tip of its hand to the Elgyem’s outstretched one; before a sudden explosion of light enveloped the two! “Supernova: we’ll fuse when we collide Awaking in the light of all the stars aligned.”As the light show faded, the Cleffa and the Elgyem were no more—instead, a Clefairy and a Beheeyem emerged from the light show. As the three Minior began to drift back out of sight, Andie sang out the last words; “I will find you…”Before the Clefairy and the Beheeyem finally embraced each other. “Our two travelers have finally met, after their long journey across the Universe, in search of each other. And what a surprise ending it turned out to be, too. Will they find happiness? Or will they be plagued by problems as they start a new life together?” she ended, finally landing down on the stage as the spotlight came on, and she took her bow, accompanied by her performers. | [attr="class","trying"]Ok, so maybe her Appeals round hadn’t gone so good. She hadn’t been watching all of the other performances, so she couldn’t have known that someone else had had a very similar idea. Still, she thought she did well all the same. She just hoped the judges didn’t think she’d tried to copy the other performer last minute. She’d seen a video of the other one afterwards, and it was very good, too. Different stories, so that probably helped. This time around, Honoka had made sure to pay attention to the others so that a similar thing didn’t happen. There were so many unique performances, and the competition was big this time around. She was glad she’s prepared what she did, feeling less like she was going over the top than before. This performance would give her and her Pokemon a chance to showcase their skills fighting together while also dancing. It would be fun, and they’d practiced for hours to perfect every step and jump and spin. Honoka’s outfit now was much different than her Appeals’ costume. The first one was representing the night sky, but this one was all black. She’d had little faceted crystal beads sewn into it so she glittered like the stars themselves. She even had a new whip made for this, the same beads sewn into the weave, tipped with a sharp looking polished silver star. She had a similar outfit made for her Monferno and Lucario, the glittering black offsetting the silver of the former Pokemon’s fur and accenting the latter’s. Her Minior had been painted with a special purple-black dye that was safe for it to use, and the whole stage would be illuminated by a black light. They’d glow like nothing else up there. The beads in the costumes were designed so that they’d glow bright blue-white under the black lights. She’d used the same kind of dye on her Lanturn, painting everything except the light on its head and its eyes. Both would glow brighter than before, or would appear to. Her Zoroark was already dark colors so it didn’t need the dye, the gold band around its tail glinting brightly. Her Altaria would stay unpainted, seeming to be “pure” for this performance. It would be a stark contrast to the rest of them, and the Pokemon would look ethereal under the black light. The stagehand called for Honoka, letting her know it was her turn to start. The stage was completely dark, so nothing could be seen. She and her Pokemon moved silently, so when the music started up, the audience would find that they were already there and ready to wow them. It would be silent for a moment before the boom of the bass and electric guitar would start, and the black lights would turn on in the same instant, and they’d start to move. Honoka, her Lucario, Monferno, and Zoroark would all be crouched in a circle facing the audience, heads bowed, Honoka in front. When the music started, they’d all jump up to their feet in the same movement. They’d turn inward to face one another and move in a circle, rotating the group one and a half times until Honoka was in the back. The lights and costumes had the exact effect she was hoping for, making it look like they had pulled the night sky down and worn it. At the third jump, Honoka dove forward over her Lucario, the Pokemon diving under her as they jumped at the same time. The other two would do the same, jumping toward one another, tucking and rolling into new positions further away from one another and back in their original order. She rolled into a perfect grouch and spring up, her whip suddenly in her hand and snapping toward the audience, the silver glinting brightly like a comet. Oh baby, don't you know I suffer? Oh baby, can you hear me moan? Honoka would roll her head on her neck, lolling backwards, letting her body fall back into the strong arms of her Monferno, which would catch her and, along with her Lucario, would toss her high into the air above the stage. She’d flip backwards twice quickly, landing safely back in their arms in a perfect cheerleading toss and catch. They’d toss her gently forward again, and she’d roll and spring onto her feet, legs parted. Her Zoroark would grab her roughly by the arm and spin her toward it, catching her around the waist, her whip hanging limply by her side. You caught me under false pretenses How long before you let me go? The Zoroark would snap her outward again and she’d spin across the stage, her whip spinning expertly around her body, before dropping to her knees, rotating her upper body in a slow circle, chest out to the sky. Ooh You set my soul alight You set my soul alight Her Lanturn and Lucariou would shoot attacks at one another, and a Moon Blast and Aqua Ring would meet one another behind Honoka and explode into lights and water that glimmered like crystals flying through the air. Glaciers melting in the dead of night And the superstars sucked into the supermassive (Ooh, you set my soul alight) Glaciers melting in the dead of night And the superstars sucked into the... (Ooh, you set my soul...) Into the supermassive She’d lurch to one side, as if being pulled by some invisible force. Her Minior would be far to stage right, opposite Honoka, and would seem to be glowing with some kind of inner light. Everything on stage would seem to gravitate toward the glowing Minior and a Mist would drift across the stage toward it. Honoka would appear to be pulled to her feet by the unstoppable force, trying to resist the pull, but unable to. It would stop, suddenly, and her Minior would appear to go dark, rotating behind them to the other side of the stage. I thought I was a fool for no one Oh baby, I'm a fool for you Her Zoroark seemed to be playing the role of the lover of the sky that Honoka was representing, and her other Pokemon were either friends of hers or of the Zoroark’s, or bodyguards or something. She’d be pulled back to the other side of the stage, back into the arms of her Zoroark. The Pokemon held her a moment before seeming to fling her away. She’d fall down onto the stage in a dramatic fall, legs tucked under her, landing on her forearms, head ducked down. The fall would look very real, though it was actually very orchestrated. You're the queen of the superficial And how long before you tell the truth? Her Monferno would stand over her, looming. The Pokemon would pull her up to her feet in a swift movement then would “push” her toward her Lucario. It would only be then that the audience noticed something odd about the Lucario. The Pokemon was about as tall as its trainer, standing at about 5 feet. The Lucario would regard her with something that seemed caring at first, then morph to disgust. It would become more apparent then that her Lucario was playing the part of another lover, perhaps. It would seem as if both were courting “the sky” but she hadn’t told either about the other. One seemed to relish in it, while the other was appalled by it. One was violent, the other was kind but distant. Ooh, you set my soul alight Ooh, you set my soul alight Another Aqua Ring and Moon Blast exploded behind Honoka and the Lucario, and the Mist that was on the stage thickened and poured over the edge like soup, rushing past their knees. The two looked like lovers in an embrace, the sky and its mysterious love, perhaps one of the Gods. For who else would court the sky itself? Glaciers melting in the dead of night And the superstars sucked into the supermassive (You set my soul alight) Glaciers melting in the dead of night And the superstars sucked into the... (Ooh, you set my soul...) Into the supermassive They broke apart, and Honoka, her Lucario, Zoroark, and Monferno would spin back into that circle. They’d crouch down like their starting pose before jumping back up. They’d reach out to their left side, arms out in a fluid motion, bodies following, before doing the same on the other side. They’d reach up to the sky, heads tilted back. Then they would “fall” back, knees bending but only their shoulders touching the floor, arms still reaching up to the sky. Supermassive black hole Supermassive black hole Supermassive black hole They’d spring back up onto their feet and move as one to the center of the stage, reaching right with both arms. They’d move left a little, doing the same on that side. All four would fall forward into a graceful roll, and Honoka’s Minior would swing out front stage, hovering just in front of the stage, glowing again. They’d all appear to be resisting the pull from the “black hole” hovering in front center stage. Glaciers melting in the dead of night And the superstars sucked into the supermassive Glaciers melting in the dead of night And the superstars sucked into the supermassive Glaciers melting in the dead of night (You set my soul alight) Glaciers melting in the dead of night And the superstars sucked into the... (Ooh, you set my soul...) Into the supermassive The Minior would dim again momentarily, but the Mist on stage would continue to roil and roll off the front. Some of it would even drift upward toward the Minior, dissipating as it hit the Pokemon, creating a form silhouetted in white. Honoka and her Pokemon would run back toward the back of the stage, seeming all the while to be pulled in random directions all at once. About mid stage they’d stop and turn back to the Audience, dropping to their knees again for a moment. They’d each slam their right hands down onto the stage, then their left. They’d use that to tip forward onto their hands, pulling up into handstands before tucking and landing on their shoulders, rolling to their feet. They turned back to run further back, but seemed to be stopped mid step by the “gravity” that the “black hole” was emitting. Supermassive black hole Supermassive black hole Supermassive black hole The Minior would glow again and float slowly toward Honoka and the other three dancing Pokemon. Mist would billow upward around them, obscuring them partially from view, glowing under the black lights. A wave of electricity would pour through the mist, making it spark and glow brighter. Then the bright white light of a Dazzling Gleam would explode behind Honoka and her Pokemon, illuminating the stage in a blinding light before everything went black. The only evidence that anything had been there was the last of the mist still sparking and drifting across the stage. |

[[*only the yellow portion of the image]] Rhia paced backstage. Yesterday, she had felt as adequately prepared as she could have been, though demoralized by the preceding performer's glamorous show. Today, well... She'd had to make a lot of last-minute changes-- thankfully, not quite literally The Last Minute-- and... well, Rhiannon really hoped it was going to work in her favor.
While the Coordinator had been the star of other shows, they'd still featured the Pokémon a lot more heavily than Rhia's had, and also tended to have a lot more of them. That, in turn, helped the focus feel at least equal between Pokémon and Coordinator, whereas Rhia's appeal had failed for... a number of reasons, but at least one of those was that this wasn't marching band, it was a Pokémon contest. She shouldn't hog the spotlight from her team. So, Rhiannon had used her extra spending money for this trip-- intended to purchase souvenirs, but oh well-- and taken a subway to the closest grocery store Rhia could find to the contest, and bought some very... very amateur craft supplies, but in this case, it worked with the character of the song and the act she was putting on. As such, Rhiannon walked on stage a little after midnight that night, wearing the same outfit she had the previous night, she was only... a little self-conscious about the shoddy aluminum foil "armor" and metal hat that Serena, her Ducklett, wore as she followed her trainer. The hat was round and wide-brimmed, with a large notch near the front, and spray painted a gold color. Following Serena was María the Baile Oricorio, who was dusted with silver sparkles, but otherwise relied on her natural beauty. Following a little behind her was both Seraphim the Cherubi and Hildegard the Spritzee, neither with even as much as María had when it came to dressing up. The music she'd provided had started as she came on stage, a dramatic drum beat and a horn. "Good evening, audience," Rhia said with a curtsy, trying not to rush, though she knew she only had a few moments, "I'm Rhiannon Milliner, and we'll be performing a medley of Man of La Mancha." She paused for effect-- not long, only a beat, but long enough, and said, "Thank you, and enjoy." She'd timed it correctly, thankfully; just after she finished speaking, the fanfare began in earnest, and she just had time to step back and let Serena take the spotlight. In her tinfoil armor, Serena used one wing to gesture animatedly to the tune of the lyrics as they began. "Hear me now, oh thou bleak and unbearable world," the speakers rang out, and Serena somehow looked legitimately angry, though her duck face couldn't really emote much. For the first few seconds, Rhia's performance couldn't do much to help, either. She did a few back-and-forth movements with her flagpole, holding down the silk, so that she and her flag were hardly more than a vague impression outside of the spotlight that now shone on the Ducklett. However, on the third line, "and a knight, with his banners all bravely unfurled," and Rhia let her own flag unfurl, revealing a yellow flag with a black silhouette;* "now hurls down his gauntlet to thee!" the music continued, and Serena took off a piece of her intentionally-shoddy armor from her wing with her bill, and threw it on the ground with surprising force. Rhia continued with her intended-to-seem angry-- or at least frenetically fast and jerky flagpole movements, which were less 'twirling' than her average show, switching back and forth between clockwise and counter-clockwise. It was... much more tiring than she was used to, both catching and countering force so often and so quickly, as well as doing so at such an elevation as Liggs was at. That had been another issue with yesterday's performance, so she'd changed her plans for tonight accordingly. Still, they needed a strong start, both to recover from yesterday's embarrassment, and to match the feeling of Man of La Mancha (I, Don Quixote) in the first part of the medley. At the line "The wild winds of fortune shall carry me onward," Hildegard used Fairy Wind from behind Serena, and the latter jumped up and flew up a few feet, going back and forth with the lyrics, "Oh, wither so ever they blow." She stayed airborne through the next several lines, occasionally using a midflight Air Slash ro emphasize a word, until the chorus repeated itself, "Oh, wither so ever they blow, wither so ever they blow." At the end of this lyric, Serena started revving up a Brave Bird, starting to glow in the spotlight. "Onward to glory," the speakers said, and Serena backed up, and glowed brighter; "onward to glory," the song repeated, and the glow surrounding Serena was brighter still. On the third line, the most forceful yet, "Onward to glory I go!" and Serena finally charged forward, nearly to the very end of the stage. As Serena stood up and recovered from the backlash of her 'attack,' the music slowed dramatically, and Hildegard covered the stage in a soft blanket of Misty Terrain. The spotlight grew to include María, and Serena who was bowing to her. "I have dreamed thee too long," the speakers sang. María did a slow twirl and used Captivate, aiming the hearts in Serena's direction, who took them gladly-- most of the hearts dissolved into Serena's feathers, but she took one and held it in the tips of her feathers, on the line, "but known the with all of my heart." After that, Serena held that to the tinfoil armor on her chest, and let that dissolve as well, then touched María's wingtip with one of her own, and they danced a circle with each other--- then Serena stepped back, on the line "though we have been always apart." Rhia could see Seraphim begin charging on cue. "Dulcinea, Dulcinea," the song continued, and a hint of something could be heard twice from behind Rhia, though she wasn't sure the audience could hear anything yet. That was just as well. "I see heaven when I see thee, Dulcinea," the song continued, and Seraphim fired her Solar Beam into the --well, the ceiling, hopefully that didn't damage anything-- from just behind (from the audience's perspective) María. Off to the side and more behind Serena/Ducklett Quixote, Rhia couldn't tell if the full effect was as impressive as she'd hoped-- but the way the beam seemed to interact with the spotlight and the Misty Terrain gave a rainbow effect, and looked to Rhia, at least, enough like a sunbeam peeking between clouds to invoke a heavenly image. The glow faded, and the song continued, "And thy name is like a prayer an angel whispers," and Rhia mentally crossed her fingers; then, over the music, the fourth and subsequent repetitions of "Dulcinea" were clearly accompanied by a strange voice-- Hildegard's Echoed Voice was coming through! It was odd and a bit high-pitched, but Rhia's and Hilde's training had paid off, and it sounded like an actual angel's whisper. If anything, the slightly uncanny quiality of the Spritzee's voice amplified the inhuman whisper effect, hopefully to a good end, given the pink and other heavenly imagery still hanging about. The focus was back to sharing Serena on the next line, "I have sought thee, sung thee, dreamed thee, Dulcinea." The Ducklett stepped forward to María, and again they touched wingtips, but this time rather than dance with each other, Serena gestured outward with the line, "Now I've found thee, and the world shall know thy glory," Twice more, the song and Hildegard said, "Dulcinea, Dulcinea..." Another Fairy Wind accompanied the tinkling sound as the music changed, and blew the Misty Terrain off the field. The stage went entirely dark for a moment, just giving Rhia enough time to dash forward and pick up her second flag from the edge of the stage, and get back behind Serena in time for the spotlight to come on. The light was softer this time, not quite as bright, and with a blue tinge. "To dream the impossible dream," the music began, and Serena gestured with her wing; Rhia spun her flag behind Serena, just out of the spotlight, barely able to be seen. In everything she did, she was carefully keeping the plain dark blue side of the silk towards the audience-- all movements clockwise, from her perspective. While slower than the first third of the song, this was nearly as difficult, since it put her left hand in charge of the majority of the movement, and she was right-handed; but she'd had her break during the Dulcinea bit, and she needed the toss to be perfect more than she needed this to be anything specific, so much as just 'vaguely smooth' in effect. She only spared a glance backward to check on her backup's progress-- and yes, it looked like Hildegard was gaining height slowly, but steadily. Such a small bird-- or fairy, or whatever-- couldn't fly far or long, but she could at least a bit, and that was all that was needed right now. Again, Serena was surprisingly emotive for a duck-- though it occurred to Rhia that the audience might not be able to see as much as she could, being further away; still, it wasn't Serena's facial expression that seemed to give her an emotion, so much as how she held herself, the way which she moved. "To love, pure and chaste from afar," and Serena touched her chest-- where she'd earlier let the heart sink in-- and closed her eyes, turning her head away from the audience. "To try, when your arms are too weary," and Serena lifted a wing, shaking with apparent effort, but unfailing, "to reach the unreachable stars," and Hildegard used Fairy Wind midair, bits of fairy dust sparkling like the night sky as it spread out over the heads of those on stage. It... was admittedly still a bit pink, and something like Cosmic Power would have been preferable, but Rhia was very proud of her Hildegard for making that work. Serena gestured upwards towards the cloud of stars, and the music elaborated, "That is my quest! To follow that star! No matter how hopeless, no matter how far." An Air Slash emphasized each of the next couple of lines, "To fight for the right, without question or pause," and then María was with Serena again, and they danced a circle around each other once more-- but María used her fiery Revelation Dance and Serena used Aqua Ring this time around. Meanwhile, the music continued, "To be willing to march into hell with a heavenly cause!" With their diametrically opposed elemental 'auras', even if maintaining María's was clearly tiring her out quickly-- at least, 'clearly' to Rhia, hopefully not to the audience-- the two birds continued to dance. "And I know," the words rung out, "if I'll only be true to this glorious quest," and Serena stepped back from the dance, touching her chest again and bowing her head, "that my heart will lie peaceful and calm, when I'm laid to my rest." "And the world will be better for this," and Serena looked up again sharply, and puffed up, looking confident, even if she was very small, "that one man, scorned and covered with scars." For a second time, Serena jumped into the air and began charging a Brave Bird, glowing brighter and brighter as the seconds drew on, as the lyrics continued, "Still strove, for his last ounce of courage, to reeeach-- the un-reach-a-ble--" In these last few moments, Rhia stepped to the side and managed to get just a spark of María's fire on the patterned side of her blue flag, and-- success! The star stitched on this side of the flag was covered with reflective glitter in case it didn't work, but it had worked. As the music came to a crescendo and the final word was sung, a very drawn out "Staaaars!" Rhiannon did a few counter-clockwise spins in front of her, just enough to build momentum, then threw the flag upward as hard as she could-- a good twenty feet, with her practice. The small amount of incendiary on the decorated side of the flag burned brightly as the flag soared upward, above even the remnants of the Fairy Wind from earlier, and Serena charged not down but up towards it, flapping her wings furiously to make up for the lack of gravity's help. She didn't quite make it before the fuel burnt up, and the rest of the silk was specifically non-flammable material; but this wasn't bad luck. If anything, it was good luck, illustrating the unreachable star, as the spotlight cut off as soon as the final word was finished-- as Rhia's instructions had indicated. It was difficult to catch a flag in near-darkness, and-- well, it hit Rhia in the head, but that was't exactly uncommon. At least it hadn't hit the stage, since that would have been audible even over the music. As such, Rhia didn't have time to check that her team was in place before the general lights came back on for the final note. They were all in proper position, though, two on each side of her. They gave a collective bow on the last note, and quickly left the stage. She was scheduled as the second-to-last performance... which was not terrible, Rhia guessed, but had she been last, she thought that her ending, perfect as it was, would have been wonderfully dramatic.

This was it. Tonight’s performance would be what determined if she’d been right to leave home or if she’d just been wasting her time for the past several months. She’d been nervous enough to plan several different routines, getting her Pokemon to practice all of them, and still not settling on which she’d use until earlier this afternoon. She had a song planned that she felt was so perfect, at the time. It would have not only encompassed her feelings about performing, but been a wonderful tribute to Niso in its own lowkey way, even if only the two of them and maybe Nikolai would have understood that angle. But the key was just a little weird for her voice, and the more she’d thought about it, the more she decided it wasn’t a show-stopper. Another song she’d sunk quite a lot of time into working on, and it had a few more references to cosmic aspects than the one she’d chosen, but she couldn’t decide which arrangement to use and her efforts to splice them herself were… ehhhhh....But at long last, she had settled, and she was happy with this. She was. … She was still debating a last-minute switch. But no, they’d worked hard on this, spent all afternoon polishing and rehearsing this one. She had to trust her judgment and her Pokemon. She had to stop overthinking. It would have been easier if the competition weren’t… so… good. Pale Heart opened again tonight, and Sera worried as before what effects that would have on not only her but everyone. She supposed going in the middle wouldn’t really be fair to all the competition, as some fans who only turned out to see the idol might leave after she performed, and better to do that before all the other performers than only part of them. So no, worries or not, Sera decided she did prefer Pale Heart going first; at least she knew what she was up against this way.The acts from there were really varied, though. She had a hard time taking Lucien’s entirely seriously, but he owned it enough and seemed to have so much fun that she couldn’t help but grin whenever she’d peeked out from backstage, and part of her hoped he’d score well. She wasn’t especially worried about Rhia, but Sera did feel she’d recovered a lot tonight. She’d have to be sure to congratulate her on the improvement and let her know how excited she was to see what she could do by next contest, with this experience and a few more Pokemon under her belt by then~Still, some of the others… One performance in particular had her very nervous, as some of the aesthetics came a bit too close to her own plans for comfort. She’d be doing things differently, of course, but she still hoped it was enough to stand out. Her song choice was a pretty different vibe, and--Stop overthinking, was it? Yeah, that sounded right, she should do that. She jolted as she felt a hand on her shoulder, but relaxed when she looked up to see Flash, her Blaziken. It’ll be all right, he told her. Just breathe. She nodded, and placed a hand over his talon gratefully. She knew he must be nervous, too, on some level. When they were younger, they used to watch contests on tv, trying to mimic moves they saw and practicing routines of their own. She and Flash, just a Torchic back then, and Caterina and Tank. She should try to see if taking the Mudkip was okay next time she visited mom… Thoughts for another time though. For tonight, she had two of her three oldest friends at her side. It was time to see what they could do.As the previous contestant wrapped up, Sera checked over each of her Pokemon again, then over herself. Her dress, elaborately modeled after a Cresselia on a bed of stars, was a little tight, but doable; her heels were similarly uncomfortable but functional. A long sash wrapped around both wrists and hanging behind her emulated the back arc of Cresselia, and Sera grabbed one wrist, feeling Niso’s gift beneath the sash, inhaling and exhaling deeply as she tried to relax. She wore honestly more jewelry than she’d like, but she wanted to ensure she caught everyone’s eye... right? Speaking of eyes, hers were done up with heavy makeup: thick eyeliner and dark lashes with space-themed glittering eyeshadow spreading out on each side. Her hair was pulled up, wrapped around vaguely triangular pieces to look like buns, and from there pulled into pigtails on either side. ...She really hoped the reference wasn’t lost on the judges, or it might look a little silly with the dress. She also wasn’t sure if the moon-shaped hair clips in front of each bun were helpful or too much, but she guessed she’d see how they went…With everything in place and the stage cleared out, Sera headed out on the stage to face the crowd. Some cheers-- for her from last night or from the prior competitors she couldn’t tell, though she’d optimistically hope both-- rang out from the audience, and Sera beamed at them brightly. As her Pokemon started following her out to get in position, Solrock’s Psychic used to aid Primarina in taking the stage, Sera addressed the crowd. ”Good evening, Liggs! Thank you all so much for coming out tonight~”She let the few more cheers that elicited mostly pass before cueing the music to start and continuing, ”It’s a little surreal being here. Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve dreamed of being on stage along with my friends, and now…” Sera stood a bit back from center stage, her Primarina and Shiny Blaziken forward to either side. Her cinnabar-and-white Solrock floated above her, and two Minior-- one’s outer shell reddish and the other normal-- on the other side of that. Her Skitty hopped and climbed up her arm and onto her shoulder, and she smiled harder even as she looked like she might tear up. ”Thank you all for being part of this dream.”The music took on a drumbeat as the notes became more flowing, and Sera strode forward. Primarina used Misty Terrain, and Blaziken used Mirror Move, such that a soft pink sparkling fog emanated from both of them to cover the stage. The lights dimmed, and the Solrock and both Minior began to swirl in a circle over the stage to sprinkle Cosmic Power lightly to illuminate the stage with faux starlight. Skitty hopped down to head to the front of the stage a bit ahead of Sera. Both Minior shot rays of Swift out over the audience from high above, and Skitty used Copycat to fire a ray up through the mist and over the judges. As all the fake stars drifted down, Sera’s voice began ringing out. ”I'm here to show you who I am… Throw off the veil, it's finally time.” Above, both Minior used Shell Smash, revealing the bright deep red Minior from last night who so well matched the Solrock and now the glistening coat of the Blaziken as well, and a light blue Minior whose color complimented the Primarina. Meanwhile, Skitty turned around to use Blizzard in Sera’s direction, blowing away the mist immediately around her, blowing every loose part of her outfit, bits of snow clinging to her and glistening even as she shivered.”There's more to me than glitz and glam, oh-whoa…” The irony of not only her current get-up but the nature of contests in general hadn’t been lost on her at any point, but as it left her mouth now, it seemed to hit a little harder than she expected. Huh… Blaziken sent a Sunny Day high in the air, and Solrock used Psychic to pull all the lingering stars-- ”and now I feel my stars aliiii-i-i-ign” --to line up neatly between Sera and the sun and linger just a moment before dispersing, shooting off in all directions. The Minior too had joined the line, then crossed over to the opposite side of the stage from where they’d started, going from the side where they contrasted the Pokemon below colorwise to the side where they matched it.”For I had believed what I was sold.” Skitty let loose some Shadow Balls, and Primarina’s Psychic merged them with a large portion of the mist to create a dark fog that was pulled up around Sera, closing in. ’I did all the things--” Blaziken used Blaze Kick and Flame Burst in unison to release a massive amount of fire, which Solrock’s Psychic brought up into a humanoid silhouette that bore down on Sera intimidatingly, causing her to shrink and back away as she sang, ”-- that I was told.” She cowered as the shadows and flames closed in around her, then started to thrash as if breaking free of chains-- ”But all that has changed, and now I'm bold” --and she swept her arms, the Psychics pulling the effects to let Sera ‘push’ them away, each dissipating as she did. “‘Cause I know…”The ribbon tied between her arms made the fullest part of her reach a bit strained, and one of her pigtails hit her face as she thrashed. This outfit really was too much...She marched toward the front of the stage, Skitty moving aside to give her the spot. Primarina’s Moonblast was fired up to collide with the Sunny Day and explode brightly as Sera belted, ”That I’m still only human!” Each Minior lit with a Dazzling Gleam to illuminate the stage, still lit primarily by the Pokemon’s moves, and Solrock floated up to take the place of the exploded Sunny Day. Sera… was far more frazzled than her voice or appearance would let on. ”I make mistakes from time to time!” Yeah she did… Like this counterintuitive aesthetic. Well, it wasn’t too late to rectify this mistake, was it? Above, Solrock created a new Sunny Day before using Rock Polish to make itself glisten, angling downward just above the Sunny Day to reflect it and act as a spotlight on Sera. She grimaced ever so slightly, but would not let it interfere with her voice.”But now I know the real me...” Primarina and Skitty both used Attract, and Blaziken Mirror Move, but rather than sprays of hearts, the three attacks were aimed to converge together and form one massive glowing pink shape behind Sera, who slammed a fist against her chest as she sang: ”And put my heart out on the line!” He ground-bound Pokemon seemed to startle slightly at the unexpected power behind the line. Both Minior faded, and one used Cosmic Power while the other used Psychic to preserve both those stars and the heart effect, lifting the heart in the air and swirling the stars through it. Sera had made up her mind by now, though, and reached up toward her neck with both hands-- ”And let the magic in my heart--” before thinking better of it. If she was doing this, she may as well commit to it as fully as possible, and rather than unclasp her necklace as had been her first thought, she grabbed them all with one hand and flung them across the stage, earning a jump from Skitty and confused looks from Blaziken and Primarina. She didn’t miss a beat, though: ”--stay tru-u-ue, whoa-whoa-oa-whoa-whoa.”She started working off the cuffs on her upper arms as the Pokemon continued with their magic-aesthetic effects for a bit. ”And let the magic in my heart stay tru-u-ue, whoa-whoa-oa-whoa-whoa.” She decided the cuffs were compact enough and light enough, and-- ”Just like the magic inside of you~” --threw them on the words ‘magic’ and ‘you’ out to members of the audience. They were pretty cheap, just made to look fancy; most her money on the outfit had gone into this dress, and inciting the thrill of getting something from a performer out of two audience members sounded more than worth the cost of the cuffs.Sera grinned, now, both because she was liking this little impromptu angle and because she really liked this next part of the show. Over the brief musical interlude, Stone Edge was combined with the Reflect/Light Screen trick from last night’s show to create a more lasting hard-light staircase, which Sera climbed step by step to rise farther above the audience. As she did, two things happened. One was that some of the Pokemon not involved in the making of the staircase began letting off a few of their more lingering moves-- Shadow Ball, Attract, some medium-sized gently wafting bubbles not as an attack but as an inherent ability of Primarina’s-- to float seemingly aimlessly around the stage. The other was that Sera remembered how much heels on stairs sucked, and was happy for the excuse to pull them off as she climbed. As she reached the top, barefoot, she sent a quick telepathic message to her Blaziken, then tossed the shoes over her shoulders one at a time. The Blaziken leapt up as requested and Blaze Kicked them out of the air, incinerating much of them and knocking the remains well out of sight off the sides of the stage.Upon landing after that, Blaziken began firing up Flame Bursts in various directions around the stage, hitting the effects that lingered from before as the other Pokemon fired off more. Each time they collided, the Burst mimicked fireworks, intermingled with the colors and effects of each attack. ”And now I see those colors right before my e-eyes!” Destroying the Sunny Day again had made a bright pale yellow burst to start. Skitty’s Shadow Ball made for a smoky violet one; one Minior’s Charge Beam a gold sparkling one; the red Minior’s Power Gem a red burst with a particularly bright flash at its center and a similar but blue burst produced by Solrock’s Stone Edge. Attract made pink bursts with little hearts; Solrock’s Will-o-Wisp enhanced extra bright fiery ones. Primarina’s bubbles floated around, occasionally encompassing and dampening a burst to make it smaller, while sometimes more than one attack would collide with a burst to make an extra large multicolored one. Primarina’s Moonblast was also particularly large and glistening silver. ”I hear my voice so clearly, and I know that it is right!”The firewoks didn’t stop just yet, but did start getting a bit sparser as as the ‘scene’ transitioned. The blue Minior wrapped pieces of Power Gem around one of Primarina’s bubbles. ”They thought I was weak, but I am strong!” The ‘globe’ created by the effects floated in front of Sera, but she shoved it away to one side-- ”They sold me the world, but they were wrong!” --but rather than disperse, Solrock took it with Psychic to move around and place above the stage behind her and leave for now. ”And now that I'm here, I will belong, 'cause I know… that I’m still only human!”The fireworks finally ceased, but just as the stage started growing dark again, Solrock and both Minior began sprinkling Cosmic Power and Swift stars around the stage again. Meanwhile, Skitty scaled the false stone to join Sera, and used Sing to harmonize some light complimentary notes behind her, and Primarina and Blaziken began to move around the stage with Swords Dance and Rain Dance. ”I make mistakes from time to time! But now I know the real me, and put my heart out on the line!”As the rain was called, it soaked the stage (not quite reaching the judges or front rows, but making things rather humid for them for a moment). Sera took the opportunity to start pulling down her hair. ”And let the magic in my heart stay tru-u-ue, whoa-whoa-oa-whoa-whoa.” On the word ‘true’, she finished yanking down one side, and over the next notes tossed aside the moon clip and the little accessory that kept her cat-ear ‘bun’ in place. ”And let the magic in my heart stay tru-u-ue, whoa-whoa-oa-whoa-whoa.” And the echo of the line mirrored the actions on the other side. She actually did like those accessories and would retrieve them after the show, along with her necklaces if she could find them, but she had a theme to commit to here at the moment, and letting her hair down just in time for the rain to soak it was too good to pass up.”Just like the magic inside of yo-o-ooou~” Blaziken had made his way over to her pedestal, and used Brick Break to shatter it into glittering dust. As Sera fell, Blaziken caught and spun her (a motion that unexpectedly reminded her of a less than ideal encounter after the appeal last night, but she quickly pushed that out of mind for another time) while Skitty of course landed on her feet. From there, Sera and her Blaziken began to waltz together through the rain to the sounds of a sweeping musical interlude. Sera had been meant to still be in full costume for this, but reduced to just her dress and sash, dancing barefoot? It honestly felt so much better, and… really, wasn’t that a lot of what she was here for?Meanwhile, the air had been filled with a massive amount of stars, not for nearly the first time this evening, but they wouldn’t be left loose long. Primarina paused the acrobatic hops that constituted the earlier dance to let out several more small bubbles, then stood upright and began singing a Sparkling Aria in tune with the music. Unlike the bubbles before, these were thick orbs of water, glittering as much as the name would suggest, and made all the bigger by the rain.As they were produced, the orbs began moving around the stage, absorbing large patches of stars, which the red Minior continued replacing. Skitty began using Blizzard to add sparkling flecks of ice and blow the orbs around, putting some spin on them. Meanwhile, Solrock alternated using Psychic and Fire Spin to lift them high and spin them more. Those spun with Psychic stayed more solid, while those spun with Fire Spin emitted a small amount of mist and became thinner, providing more variance in the effects. Each orb became its own galaxy, drifting slowly around the stage as more and more joined them.Meanwhile, the blue Minior had been using Psychic and Power Gem to shape the small bubbles Primarina made before starting the Aria into more planets to add to the small ‘earth’ that had still been preserved from before. These were moved up to revolve around Solrock as it worked in the middle of the scene. The music shifted into something more synthetic and upbeat, and Solrock replaced itself with a Sunny Day, drying the rain and shining brightly on all the sparkling water galaxies as the small planets revolved around the new sun. More and more galaxies were produced, floating and reaching out high above the stage, way off to the sides, all around, swaying, glistening, creating a virtual universe. Skitty took to using Shadow Balls here and there, most of which were taken up with Psychic and spun into black holes to fill empty space in a few places; and Solrock began letting Will-o-Wisps soar through the air like comets. Minior began adding Stealth Rock and Power Gem asteroid fields.Below, when the music had changed, so had Sera and Blaziken’s dance routine, from a gentle waltz in the rain to a fast, twirling, upbeat number in the sun. The speed with which she twirled and the heat of the sun helped dry her hair, dress, and sash. At this point, she was grinning ear to ear, occasionally shaking a bit with silent giggles of pure delight. This was what she wanted. To bring the visions in her head to life and have a blast in the process. She’d gotten nervous after some of the performances last night, thought she’d need to stand out the most in every way to have a chance of winning, and overdone her appearance trying to compensate. But whatever the results, this was the important part, right? Seeing the universe her Pokemon created, feeling the exhilaration of her heart pounding as she danced… She’d love to win, or at least place, but she didn’t need it to validate her decisions. There was no way everything leading to this could possibly be a waste of time.Stopping to look at the audience, Sera spoke rather than sang: "It is said: 'Be humble, for you are made of earth. Be noble, for you are made of stars.' We're all human, yet we're made of stardust. Inside each of us is enough light to outshine countless galaxies..~"Part way through the staccato notes that signified the vocals coming back up, she headed back to the front center stage, a bounce in her step. Primarina finally stopped singing, and instead used Psychic to lift off and ‘swim’ through the sea of galaxies, looking by comparison like a giant space mermaid.”I am only human!” While Primarina swam and the three celestial bodies floated through and around the scene, the four of them occasionally stopping to gently touch a galaxy or move an asteroid back into place, the universe was slowly pushed outward, expanded, branching out over the audience and the back of the stage. A bit of reverb creeped into Sera’s mic for a few seconds, likely due to her sheer volume, but she could only grin a little harder, not bothered by it at all. ”I make mistakes from time to time! But now I know the real me, and put my heart out on the line!”
“And let the magic in my heart stay tru-u-ue, whoa-whoa-oa-whoa-whoa.” Behind Sera, Skitty fired off a Blizzard to swirl a little personal flurry of glitter behind Sera, and Blaziken Flame Charged through it, evaporating it as he went. They turned to look at each other, then, and through synchronized Copycat and Mirror Move, the Fire-type launched a blast of snow, and the tiny cat launched herself like a fireball through it, Blaziken catching her in his arms. ”And let the magic in my heart stay tru-u-ue, whoa-whoa-oa-whoa-whoa. Just like the magic inside of you~”A final brief musical interlude, and Skitty jumped from Blaziken’s arms to Sera’s, and the Minior descended to each grab one with Psychic. The full party moved through the universe, and in particular Sera moved to the solar system still spinning in the middle of it all, shifting Skitty to one arm and bringing a hand up to not quite touch the earth, smiling down at it before heading back to the front.Solrock came with them, and made a platform in the air for Minior to gently set Sera down on. Skitty jumped down to stand at Sera’s feet, and Sera began to unwrap the sash around one wrist, then the other: beneath the second side was a white bracelet with a blue stone. Below, Primarina was ‘swimming’ down to take a place center stage under and a bit behind Sera.A few telepathic commands to Skitty and Blaziken-- “Let the magic in my heart stay tru--” and Sera held up the sash. Skitty used Blizzard up at her, making her shiver and adding a slight extra vibrato to her voice, but more importantly blowing her skirt, hair, and the sash she now held above her head with one hand. ”--u-ue, whoa-whoa-oa-whoa-whoa.” A Flame Burst from Blaziken lit the end on fire. ”And let the magic in my heart--” the sash slowly burned away, Sera releasing her end just before it dissipated into nothing-- ”stay tru-u-ue, whoa-whoa-oa-whoa-whoa.” She was down to just the dress and bracelet now.The other Minior set Blaziken down off to the side of the stage, then the three celestial bodies flew up high, Solrock centered and Minior to each side, but effectively just removing themselves from the scene. Sera performed a flowing gesture, pulling her previously upheld arm back in and raising her other-- the one with her bracelet-- high. It glowed bright, and Primarina stood, hair flaring out like tentacles, front flippers uplifted. “Just like the magic inside of yoooo-o-oou...” Over the course of the line, Primarina gathered the entire universe within and between its Sparkling Aria orbs and pulled them together, drawing them back from where they’d spread, everything clashing into a singular orb of monumental proportions, taking up nearly the entire working area of the stage, all the effects swirling within; and on Sera’s “you”, Primarina sung a matching note.”Just like the magic inside of--” the orb rapidly collapsed in on itself, imploding before exploding as Primarina harmonized again with the final note-- ”YOOOOOOOOOoooou!” sending whatever residual particles of light that weren’t destroyed by the sheer force of the blast and a lot of glistening water firing in every direction. The Oceanic Operetta had created a virtual Big Bang that left the entire stage and the air above the closest third or so of the audience sparkling. All was silent for a moment before cheers rose, and Sera could only laugh a bit through a pant, stunned and breathless herself.
