Welcome to the Summer Celebration Contest! The sun was at its highest point in the sky, shining down with a radiant warmth made more comfortable by the pleasant breeze that blew. The audience lined the hillside primarily on blankets or in the grass to see the stage erected at the bottom of this small valley. The setting for this contest was very open and natural, save for the large curtained-off area set up behind the stage for contestants to prepare and the large speakers on either side to ensure all the audience and some nearby festival goers alike could hear everything going on. The contest organizer was a little concerned about the low turnout, and wound up delaying a few minutes in case of last-minute arrivals, but soon told herself that any longer and she'd risk losing the audience as well. It would be fine if someone showed up while the other appeals were ongoing so long as they slipped in quietly, after all. Thus, Irisviel Laska stepped out on stage. "Greetings, one and all," she called, voice calm but strong and clear. "On behalf of the city of Aleal, I welcome you." She gave the audience a light bow. "I must apologize for the delay this afternoon, but moreover I do hope you'll forgive me if I'm not so energetic as the idols and celebrities normally hosting these events." She offered a brief soft laugh. Indeed, there was nothing particularly flashy about her, though her light and breezy dress moved with the wind in such a way that lent more to the vibe of a carefree teenage girl than a middle-aged politician. "I simply had to, though, for you see...""This festival is very dear to my heart." If her accent wasn't clearly foreign enough, she soon went on, "Back in my homeland, the northern mountains I called home were snowy and cold nearly year-round, the whole sub-region much like Aleal. Only under the summer sun--" a Sunny Day was used from somewhere to further brighten the stage-- "could we see a full range of beautiful flora and fauna!" A fully blossomed Cherrim rose up from above the 'backstage' curtains and launched a Petal Blizzard that swirled around the stage, further whipping up Iris's dress. "Thus, it became tradition for the North to celebrate the summer solstice, as the arid South celebrated the cool reprieve of their winter. And now, we share this tradition with you~"She smiled to the crowd as the Cherrim joined her on stage. "Whatever the origins, I'm certain our competitors will provide you with plenty of excitement shortly-- particularly given 'Energy' is the very theme today! First, however, I must take just a few more minutes of your time to introduce the lovely ladies who will be our judges. First up, we have the winner of April's Star Festival contest, talented musician and performer Pale Heart."@astrid, better known to the crowd as the idol Pale Heart, stood. "Thank you very much, Iris." Turning around to face the crowd, she went on, "And welcome, people of Aleal! This city may be a refreshing, cool break from the heat of summer, but our contestants' competitive spirit burns as hot as ever! Are you ready to be dazzled by these talented performers?" The crowd let out a cheer of affirmation. "Well, we are too, so let's get this show started!"As she took her seat again, Iris moved on. "Next on our list, we have the stunning Gym Leader of Liggs--" The Leader in question began gesturing to the hostess, and Iris had to fight a laugh. Oh, she'd been serious about those titles. In an amused tone that did not quite fit the hype such monickers were meant to invoke, she added "The 'Blonde Bombshell', the 'Thunder From Down Under', the 'Queen of the Underground'..." She debated, then added a small tease: "and self-proclaimed demigod." She very briefly mouthed the words 'you're welcome' to the blonde. "Mia Kearney!"Either ignoring or just owning the subtle tease, Mia stood, shaking her fists together above her head on one side and then the other as she soaked in whatever cheers her name invoked. "Thank you, thank you, my adoring subjects! I promise from my seat on high to judge all competitors fairly~"With a wink, she added, "And if anyone wants more detailed criticisms after the show I'd be more than happy to see any of the cuties backstage~" Which was to say, any girls competing. Tough break for the one male competitor registered thus far, or any who might show up later. As she took a seat again, she leaned over to whisper something to Pale Heart as well. Irisviel maintained enough self-control to refrain from rolling her eyes, caught between seeing what all the fuss was about and wondering how her son got along so well with someone so... well, energetic, eheh. Perhaps Mia should have been a competitor given the day's theme. But at any rate, "Last, but certainly not least, we have the light of my heart, my own youngest daughter, Ilya Laska."Ilya ( Jay) nodded graciously, then stood and bowed to the crowd. "Thank you very much for having me. I wish all the contestants competing today the best of luck." They were going to need it, as she had no intention of going easy on them. But she simply offered a smile and took her seat again, perhaps a little too pleased with the position of power she'd been granted. Iris saw nothing strange here. "Thank you, judges, and thank you all for your patience." She spun around, gesturing to the curtains as she and her Cherrim backed off the stage. "Now, without further ado, let us give a warm applause for our first contestant~"

While the host introduced the judges, Bailey was busy making sure he was were he was supposed to be, and confirming that he was slotted first for the appeal round. Having made sure that everything was how it was meant to be he made his way to the opening in the curtain, releasing all of his Pokemon and quickly checking that they were all ready to do what they had been practising, and checking that there was nothing wrong with his suit. Just as he was finishing up his final checks, he heard the host finish her introductions, and open up the stage to the performers, which meant him. Ready to go, Bailey motioned to let the crew know to put his music on, then looked at his first two 'actors', making sure they were as ready as he was. As the music started up his Charmander began to use Smokescreen, pumping out a thick layer of black smoke that would begin to envelop the stage, while his Minior used Cosmic Power at the same time, mixing the created stars into the smoke to create an effect that hopefully generated a look similar to a night sky. Only when the stage was covered did he begin his next stage, gesturing at his team to get the two to stop, before his Elgyem and Mareep took over. The Elgyem grabbed him using it's Psychic attack, lifting him into the air and causing him to float forwards slowly, feet clearing the smoke just slightly as he did his part to look calm and collected despite the now weightless feeling he was experiencing. As he moved, the Mareep moved under him, hidden in the smoke while it used Thunder Wave to create an electrical surge underneath him, looking as though he was creating it. They moved straight ahead, so that the sheep Pokemon wouldn't get lost in the blinding smoke, until they had gone about three quarters of the way to the front of the stage. He then stopped for a second, as did the electricity beneath him as the Elgyem grabbed onto the Mareep and slowly pulled it back towards the curtain. His last Pokemon then did it's part, using a modified Stone Edge to erect what looked like a roughly hewn throne, that Bailey was then moved to sit on, resting his head on his arm that leaned on the side of the chair. After a brief moment Bailey started to speak, his voice boosted through the speakers by the microphone attached to his collar. "Ladies and gentlemen, lend me your ears and hearts. We are here to celebrate summer, but I don't think there is quite enough passion here! I want to see you guys pumped up and ready to go when I come back, but until then, this is your superstar Bailey!" As he finished up his small speech the smoke swirled around him, stirred up by Elgyem's Psychic, before it eventually rushed in to form a sphere with Bailey in the centre. Rockruff made the throne go back into the ground as the smoke ball and Bailey were lifted up into the air about 2 metres high. The sphere then rushed back towards the curtain, appeared to slam against it but in actually it just dropped Bailey through the opening before Elgyem caused it to disperse, harmlessly sending most of it into the air to dissipate. With his first performance finished he looked at his assembled team. "So, I think that went well. Let's go get ready for the next part shall we?"

Being perfectly honest, Emily didn’t even immediately know about the context, she was distracted by other things: gym battles, training, exploring - but, she saw the poster in the city advertising the contest. It sounded like fun, and as Raichu pointed out, it was perfect for her! She was a judge in a contest not too long ago, why not be a competitor? Even if she lost, it would still be a blast! ...As she quickly found out, though, she was pretty last minute. She just had a day, day and a half to come up with something. She came up with some idea; she had absolutely no idea if it was gonna work out, but she didn’t mind! She was gonna try! It was definitely interesting to be backstage of a contest, though, it was so amazing! She was grinning wide - where the other competitors were double-checking their make-up, making last minute adjustments to their song choices, or fussing over some other detail, Emily, the infinitely curious and completely blind to foresight girl that she was, was exploring the backstage, watching just how exactly the back end of Coordinators worked, and nothing ever disappointed her. She was enamored by the contestants, who were laying all of their passions on the line, just like a trainer would in a gym! She was interested in the stage hands, finally seeing how they made everything work out for the contestants; everything was so pretty, so active! She might have been nervous, but she wasn’t concerned about it; everything was far too cool to be distracted by something as silly as nervousness! Suddenly her name was called - right when she was talking to the guy that was supposed to play her music! She scrambled a bit and tossed the CD at him, suddenly regretting juuuuust a little bit asking him about what he was using rather than any directions, but that regret was gone almost as soon as she felt it. “Just play that for me, thanks!” She ran through the backstage, running as fast as she can, grabbing a few props smoothly as she did, skidding to the halt just before she would have ran onto the stage. There was a slight delay to her music after her name was called, but the girl managed to - unintentionally - take advantage of it, quickly tossing a beach chair into view, landing on its feet with a soft clack. A purple Scraggy suddenly found herself flung into the chair, too. The observant of the audience could tell that the Dark-type was both shocked and confused, to the point where she clearly wanted to be pissed, but was too surprised that she was thrown to be. When a tanning mirror and sunglasses were tossed in, the Scraggy, slightly annoyed, decided to shrug, putting the shades on and making use of the mirror. The music kicked on, just in time for five loud pops to come off on stage. Suddenly, five Pokémon and trainer would run out from the side, a Steelix dragging itself with a loud rumble, a Snorlax’s massive weight causing his footsteps to thud, a Staraptor soaring only just above everyone’s heads, a Raichu running ahead of everyone, bouncing a beach ball styled like a Repeat Ball into the area, a Goomy wiggling its way in to catch up to everyone, and of course, Emily - headset on her head - running with her Pokémon. While she ran in, she stripped; she was wearing a jacket and jeans, throwing away the jacket, peeling her shirt off, and even hopping as she struggled just for a moment to pull them off, fixing her bikini a slight tad, grinning wide as she ran forward. The virtual earthquake right next to the chair made it bounce and shake, Scraggy going wide-eyed and hanging onto the chair for dear life before the rumbling stopped, turning and glaring at the team before begrudgingly shifting her sunglasses back into place and picking the tanning mirror back up. “Come on, come on, come on Let's go! Come on, come on Let's go! Come on, come on, come on Let's go! Come on, come on Let's go!”While the lyrics played, her Pokémon got into their positions; Steelix jumped off the stage, making a huge arc, the many different sections of his body spinning before slamming down into the dirt, digging himself away; Snorlax immediately turned around, letting out a huuuuuge yawn and flopping back, slamming to the ground hard enough to force the nearby Goomy into the air slightly - making her go wide-eyed for a second, though Goomy happy squirmed up his body to start bouncing on his belly like a trampoline. Raichu smacked his tail against the beach ball, sending it Emily’s way before jumping up to join the Goomy, both Pokémon yelling and laughing as they legitimately enjoyed the toy that so many children and wild Pokémon made use of. Staraptor took to the skies, letting out a massive cry before flying as high as he wanted. Emily caught the beach ball, turning to the audience and grinning confidently, grabbing the mic of her headset gently out of pure habit as she started to sing, her voice coming out smooth, skilled, and confidently. “Vacation, need a little sun ta break up all the frustration, and turn it inta love. Ain’t nobody gonna tell us what we gonna do, because today, it’s up ta me and you!” Emily started dancing, her hips starting to shake and bounce as her body started to flow and move with the music. The rhythm, her zest, her excitement, all of her purest and best feelings flowed through her body, twisting her feet on the ground, using those motions to approach the audience as her legs and arms flowed, her rear and hips flowing over as she released some of her energy. She even used the beach ball, punching it into the air and playing with it as she danced and continued to sing. “Temptation comin’ up ta me, a little relaxation and I’ll be great ta be. Come on and weeky weeky loo at the- it’s gonna start now!”Emily allowed the backup vocals - the CD - to play the next words, suddenly stopping her dancing at the very edge of the stage, leaning over towards the audience, smirking confidently, shaking her hand gently like a rapper might towards a camera as the vocals went, throwing a foot back and kicking the beach ball up into the air again, suddenly throwing herself off balance, nearly missing her cue, but managing it sing - somewhat - even as she struggled, and then regained her balance. “VAAAAAAAAY-cation’s where I wanna be,” she sang, stepping back towards the stage, her heart pounding slightly, but grinning again as she ran towards her Pokémon. Her Steelix jumped out of the ground when she started singing the chorus, emphasizing her lyrics with an energetic jump in the air before slamming face-first into the ground again, near-instantly creating another hole just in front of the stage. “Party on the beach where the sun is free! We don’t need a holiday, time ta celebrate!” While she sang, she hit the ball towards her Raichu, who hit it back, playfully volleying the ball to each other - the Raichu doing so even as he bounced, throwing in some spins and tricks, like hitting it with his tail, as he did. Finally, after hitting it back, she looked over her shoulder at the audience, a playful grin on her face as she sung, “‘cause I need a break, I need a vacation.”Then, a musical interlude, Steelix suddenly bursting out of the ground, moving to dive in again, but Emily stopped him, covering her mic and sticking her fingers into her mouth to whistle at him, stepping aside with a grin to let the beach ball bounce to him. He glared at it, lifting his tail up and smacking it into the ground, sending it flying up even faster than before. Staraptor swooped in, headbutting it back towards the ground at the same time Snorlax sat up, staring blankly as the ball bounced in front of him, catching it gently, looking around before tossing it to the Goomy, who smacked her body into it to send to Raichu, who flicked it up gently into the air before giving it a hard punch, sending it flying to the Scraggy, who, busy with tanning, suddenly found the ball hitting her chair, sending it and her careening to the side. She got up, glaring angrily at the Raichu - who taunted her playfully, grinning almost evilly as he motioned his paws toward himself, her eye twitching slightly before setting the ball down and actually using a move, soft sparkles coming off of her fist as she used Drain Punch, sending the beach ball - which was thankfully built for Pokémon play - as fast as she could. Raichu only laughed, smacking the ball back. While the two Pokémon played an extremely intense volley ball match, Snorlax flopping back again, Goomy watching with fascination, Steelix watching with as much amusement a Steelix can convey, and Staraptor returning to the skies, performing some aerial acrobatics for (hopefully) Emily’s benefit, the trainer looked at the judges, returning to her singing, a slow sway to her hips and a confident and energetic grin, a hand on her hips as she strode forward, “Vibrations, need ta get me some and drive out all my complications and turn ‘em into love. Ain’t nobody gonna tell us where we gonna be, cause today-”Finally, Emily saw who the judges were. She recognized two; one was a performer in the Star Festival contest that she judged. The other one, though, whose eyes she was now gazing into, she recognized as Mia Kearney. Suddenly that confidence slipped away, Emily gritting her teeth nervously, her eyes wide, less fear, more simple discomfort on her face, looking away as she remembered that very… very… freaky gym challenge, suddenly whirling to put her back to the judges to avoid eye contact with the weirdly violent Gym Leader. “today it’s you and me!”The girl of infinite energy and optimism managed to not noticeably space her words - though it helped that there was a slight pause in those lyrics. She let out a soft breath, a slight puff as she mentally logged this freaky information. Emily, like always, though, was quick to let go of bad feelings - after all, neither of them were here to battle, and she was surrounded by her Pokémon friends, so why was there any reason to worry? She had to perform, though, so she could worry later if she wanted. Emily suddenly burst into movement, running across the stage to hop off of the stage and onto her Steelix’s tail, suddenly getting the attention of all of her Pokémon - including Scraggy, distracted just long enough to get hit in the entire body by the beach ball as the trainer climbed up the massive snake, throwing the Pokémon completely off her feet, running as fast as she could up it like steps as she sung, her grin returning, “Vacation’s what I wanna do! Party on the beach for me ‘n you! We don’t need a holiday, it’s time to celebrate!” Finally, she was on Steelix’s head, now at least 2 stories up, turning to look down at the judges again, involving them in the performance once more as she sung just slightly quieter, “Repeat after me: I need a vacation!” Emily looked back to her Pokémon, making a quick motion and beginning to dance again, letting the beat and rhythm flow through her, her moves centering around her hips as her entire body flowed, shook, and moved, pure passion flowing through her, her Pokémon joining in as they could, all while the chorus played. Goomy jumped and bounced, yelling excitedly, Snorlax sat up again, smiling widely and throwing his arms up, waving them around like he just didn’t care, Steelix just waved his tail around, Staraptor swooshed and circled around the group, crying out happily, and Raichu cloned himself, using Substitute, very skillfully dodging the Scraggy’s attacks with a variety of flashy movements, such as twisting out of her way, using his clone to flip away from her, and even tripping her up with it, the Scraggy getting repeatedly frustrated, though Raichu was just having plain old fun with the more serious Pokémon while the backup vocals of the CD played. “Vacation’s where I wanna be! Party on the beach where the fun is free! We don’t need a holiday, it’s time to celebrate!”Emily looked at the judges again, her everlasting grin on her face as she sung specifically to them. “Repeat after me: I need a vacation!” She looked away from them, repeating the chorus, “Vacation’s where I wanna be! Party on the beach where the sun is free!” Suddenly the girl jumped off her Steelix, all of her Pokémon letting out a soft gasp as she did, singing both as she jumped and finishing on the way down, “We don’t need a holiday, it’s time to celebrate!” She didn’t really have much of an act, so she was ‘ad-libbing’ all of the moves. She shocked her Pokémon, but she trusted them, and that trust was earned when Staraptor stopped flying around Steelix, turning to Emily and catching her a dozen feet through her fall. Unfortunately, he caught her outfit, not her, his claws and her falling instantly making her bikini top rip. She went wide-eyed and let out a squeak when her fall went almost unstopped, but instinct took over quickly; she fell the rest of the short, rolling onto her knees, the relatively short distance thankfully making her avoid injury. She immediately shot her head up to the audience, red in the face as she naturally covered her chest and reached back to touch the strand keeping her top on. She instantly found out that, much to her relief, her top wasn’t missing, and the string holding it up was fine; it was just backless now, with just a few ripped strands fluttering at back. She let out a sigh of relief, and almost as if she had not experienced horrible embarrassment just a fraction of a second before, she stood back up, grinning widely and running a hand through her hair. She stared at the audience, finishing her song, “Repeat after me: I need a vacation!”The music kept playing, adding some more backup vocals, but as the music started to fade, her and her Pokémon started to move off-stage, Emily dancing softly - subtly hugging her chest to keep anything from showing as she moved, she let her voice quiet with the music, adding one more chorus, her physical exhaustion starting to show in her voice, though it, coincidentally, added to the feel of the fading music. “Vacation’s where I wanna be… party on the beach where the sun is free… we don’t need a holiday, it’s time to celebrate… ‘cause I need a break, I need a vacation.” All of her Pokémon followed her, even the purple Scraggy, though she followed them just to keep yelling at everyone for forcing her through this. With that, she finally danced off the stage. She was so rarely exhausted, but performing was one of the most amazing workouts, and was one of the few things that could tire her out. She let herself collapse, grinning widely as she faceplanted, her headset falling off with a gentle clatter. She didn’t even notice her Snorlax and Steelix completely unable to enter backstage, just grinning and panting until a stagehand gently poked her and pointed them out. She finally pulled herself up, just enough to drag herself to where she had set her Poké Balls down, returning everyone - including the two big Pokémon, Snorlax smiling awkwardly while the Steelix just waited - except her Raichu. She flopped to the ground again, laughing softly. “Man, isn’t singing awesome, Pikachu?! I mean, Raichu?” She laughed gently, then shivered gently. “Aleal’s cold. Can ya get me a blanket?”Even if Aleal was warmer this time of year, 70 degrees wasn’t optimal bikini weather. (OOC: WC: 2700+ Literally my first ever contest post. EVER. I had a fucking BLAST making it. Hope it's as good as it was fun. ALSO I MADE THIS IN LIKE FOUR HOURS FFFFFF)

Why did no one tell her that Pale Heart was going to be one of the judges?? Did Sera not have enough pressure here? She likes your style, Flash reminded her. Okay yes but?? Would she if Sera made a fool of herself? What if she took it back? Sera had been nervous enough thinking she might be competing again, but judging? BREATHE, Flash insisted. Sera was having trouble doing so, but her Blaziken’s hands suddenly grabbing her shoulders finally grounded her. He looked her in the eyes. We’re not here to win, he said firmly, jarring her. We’re here to perform. She knew this on many levels, but was blown back a bit by how badly she needed to hear it right now. ”Right.” Sera finally regulated her breathing, then saw to her last-minute wardrobe touches and waited backstage, watching some of the girl before her. She… really was energetic wasn’t she. … We’re here to perform, she reminded herself. She needed to drill into her head that it was okay to not-win, or even not-place. Even world class coordinators didn’t win every contest, and expecting more from herself was not a realistic goal. She just had to focus on performing. The stage was cleared, and her turn came. She recalled Flash, and released her black Pidgeot, Raven. Her Skitty, Caterina, was already out backstage. The stage remained empty, for the moment. Caterina let several Shadow Balls off to begin floating around the stage, coming out from behind various different parts of the curtain and floating in seemingly erratic paths, as [please immediately pause and set to 1.25x speed] the music began to play. Backstage, Sera would sync with Caterina by going through a small motion, the purple crystal attached to her wrist faintly glowing. The next move released from the cat would not be a ball; instead, inky blackness began to emanate from her, covering the ground and growing rapidly. Once she was started, Sera jumped onto Raven’s back just in time to head out for the lyrics. ”I’m blind-folded on this carriage ride that they call life.” Sera had come out just ahead of the darkness, but it soon caught up to her, overtaking her and spreading up the curtains and even through the air. Faint hallucinations began flickering through it, dead trees and decrepit buildings. Raven’s form was barely visible within it, but Sera’s bright red cloak billowed behind them as Raven soared. ”Keep tryin’ to make it through that next turn--” she and Raven banked to avoid a tree, then immediately had to swoop to dodge one of the Shadow Balls from before-- ”knuckles white, and holding ti-ight!”The sky was a misty purple now, blotting much of the sunlight they were here to celebrate, and long tendrils-- no, arms with clawing spindly hands-- rose from the ground to grasp and thrash about. ”So here I go!” Though Sera managed to maintain a steady voice for the most part, there was admittedly a little genuine fear on her face as they only narrowly avoided arm after arm. ”I’m takin’ the curve!” Of course, had the Skitty been trying to hit them, it would have been another story; even with her being careful to present only the illusion of danger, the sheer number of hazards made this a trying experience for-- well, Sera mostly. Raven was immune to ghost moves, so unlike her trainer she wouldn’t have felt the attack really, but more than the slightest error here would break the suspension of disbelief. ”But I know I’m never alone!” Sera ‘slipped’ then, falling from the Pidgeot from high up. ”I think of you--” on cue, Flash burst forth from his PokeBall, the light from his emergence refracing brilliantly on his Shiny coat to become the most visible thing on stage; as he caught Sera out of midair, she sang, ”--and how you never let me go~!”Flash touched down. The Never-Ending Nightmare was fading now, and Raven took to blowing some of the effects away. ”I feel connected!” As a backup vocal on the track repeated “connected”, a Shiny Ribombee, Charlotte, burst from a ball at Sera’s waste; her pink coloration and red scarf matched Sera’s hair and cloak, and her Silver Wind started pushing remnants of darkness away too. ”Protected!” (“Protected,” sang the backup track.) ”It’s like you’re sitting right with me all the time.”The Blaziken set her down, but held her close, using his Mirror Move to emulate the Silver Wind, glittering gusts flowing from his punches and kicks. ”You hear me.” This was funnier to Sera than most people watching, though it was true Mia might get the lowkey joke. ”You’re near me.” The Pokemon finished dispelling the effects, leaving the stage bright again, and began gathering around Sera. ”And everything else gonna be all right.”She hugged Flash. ”Nothing can break this--” The Ribombee came up, and Sera released the Blaziken to pull her tiny form closer, cupping her ‘in’ both hands akin to a certain historical king and his own fairy of choice, Sera bringing her close and motioning as if to nuzzle her without actually touching her face or hindering her singing. ”--nothing can break this--” The Pidgeot joined, and Sera moved from Ribombee to run both hands over her sleek back feathers. ”--nothing can break this tiiiie…” Her Skitty bounded from back stage, and Sera turned in time to catch the cat leaping into her arms. ”Connected…~” The others moved in for a group hug-- ”Connected--” and then began to disperse around the stage-- ”inside~”Raven soared high above, Charlotte fluttering about mid-way between Raven and the stage, and Flash had jumped up atop the rafters. Only Caterina remained at Sera’s side as she walked across the stage, making searching motions. ”It’s not an accident, the time we spent apart.” She “spotted” Charlotte, pointing her out. ”But now we’re so close--” Charlotte used Quiver Dance, and below, Caterina used Copycat to mimic it perfectly, Sera doing her best to translate and mimic the dance as well-- ”I can always find you right here in my hea-eart.” Her focus moved to Raven, who used Feather Dance, and again Caterina and Sera mimicked. ”You’ve given me, something I need. And I don’t ever want it to end~!” Flash Flame Charged off the curtain, flipping in the air to land gracefully on his feet, then used Swords Dance; again they mimicked. ”Because of you, I know I’ve found my strength again!”As they went through the chorus again, they took to just doing a few flashy effects if Sera was being honest. She worried on one hand it might be a weaker bit, but on the other thought maybe overdoing sticking too close to the lyrics especially on parts that were repeated a lot could be bad, too? Anyway, she didn’t feel like rehashing a bit similar to the first chorus, and showing off was fun. So as she sang, Charlotte made some Pollen Puffs that Raven sliced up with Steel Wings, and Caterina made some Shadow Balls that Flash diced through with Night Slash. Raven would then whip the stray bits of pollen and ‘embers’ of dark energy up in a mostly-symmetrical Whirlwind, which Flash proceeded to Flame Change through to disperse, coming from the back to front of the stage for a dramatic effect as the fire burned everything up behind him in a, well, flash, and striking a pose for the audience. Sera rejoined him up front, and as she sang at a faster pace, she and the Blaziken began dancing together at just as lively a tempo. ”Every time that I breathe, I can feel the energy.” Caterina and Charlotte combined a Dazzling Gleam and a Blizzard, the swirling sparkling light spiraling from back stage toward them. “Reaching out, flowing through--” Flash would incorporate two Blaze Kicks into his dancing to deflect the icy vortex and disperse it, the remnants lingering and falling slowly in the air around them to lay a faint sparkle over all the stage. ”--You to me and me to you!” Caterina leapt again into Sera’s arms, Sera catching her in one of her dance spins, and continuing to spin to fling her up into the air and land on Raven’s back. ”Wake or dream--” Everyone including Sera briefly “pretended” to be asleep, before Caterina’s ring Heal Bell “woke” them all. ”--walk or stand--” While Flash and Sera did some brief dance moves and Raven some aerial maneuvers, Charlotte used Double Team. ”--you are everywhere I am~” Sera hopped around a few places on stage in time to the notes, encountering a Ribombee at each. ”Separate souls--” Flash used Sunny Day to create an orb of light, and Caterina almost instantly Copycatted to create a second one; Sera took a center stage position and closed her eyes. ”--unified!” The two sunny orbs were pushed upward by the Ribombee clones, merging into one sun above one Ribombee high above the stage. Sera touched the stone hanging from her choker, and Flash and Raven both began to glow. ”Touching at the speed of….”In a burst of activity, Charlotte burst the Sunny Day orb with Dazzling Gleam; Raven shot into the sky through the lights with Sky Attack; Caterina began to glow on her back; Sera sang the note ”LIIIIGHT!” as she tilted her head up without yet opening her eyes, showing off the glowing stone; and Flash erupted from his own burst of light in a sleeker form with ribbons of flame whipping about him. ”LIIIIGHT~” At the peak of Raven’s ascent, Caterina’s Copycat came to fruition and she too Sky Attacked, right up off into the stratosphere as Raven dove back down without her. Demonstrating the aforementioned ‘speed of light’, Flash’s earlier Flame Charges and his new Speed Boost paid off as he blurred around the stage, a sharp contrast to Sera’s slow motions as she stood in place. ”O-oh, O-oh, O-OH~”She took up her dancing again then, though the Mega Blaziken now quite literally danced circles around her; Charlotte and Raven took to Quiver and Feather Dances again. ”I feel connected! Protected!” Caterina finally fell back to earth, and Flash leapt to snatch her safely out of mid-air. Her version of the song had cut a few lines, jumping straight to, ”Now you’re in my mind~” She joined Flash and leaned in to scratch Caterina affectionately. ”Now I’m doin’ fine~ You hear me!” Caterina used ‘Sing’ to harmonize with the background vocal repeating ‘you hear me’. ”YOU’RE near me!” Raven came in to use Roost, not just landing but fluffing up bright with a faint warm energy coming over her, and Sera threw her arms around her neck. ”And everything else gonna be all right.” Charlotte used Aromatherapy, and a Silver Wind to spread the soothing scented mist out among the others and the closest rows of audiences and judges. ”Nothing can break this,” Caterina used Attract, ”nothing can break this,” Charlotte used Attract also, ”nothing can break this--” as did Raven, ”tiiiiie!” And with a Mirror Move, Flash would use Attract as well, surrounding them with hearts from every possible angle. ”Connected!” As the backup vocal rang, Charlotte used Psychic to pull the hearts all together-- ”Connected inside!” --and into a singular gigantic glowing heart. ”Connected!” She took Caterina from Flash, and Charlotte began lifting the heart and Sera both high. ”Connected inside.” Raven took off toward the audience, looping up and around and through the middle of the heart with a U-Turn, causing her to break down into light that returned to her ball-- though to the audience, it would pass for absorbing straight into Sera given that ball was in her clothing. ”Connected!” Flash used Baton Pass, and his returning to his ball created a similar effect of being absorbed into Sera, but replaced a moment later by the re-emergence of Raven, who gained all his unfathomable speed. Charlotte dropped Sera to land on Raven’s back with Caterina still in tow, and in the time it took to sing, ”Connected insiiiide~” Raven had flown the path of both a heart and an infinity symbol cutting through it; Caterina had been using Blizzard off her back, leaving a faint trail of glistening snow. When the shape was complete, Charlotte Psychically froze it in place, and Raven stopped with Sera in front of its center. As the last few notes of the song faded and the crowd began cheering, Sera called out, ”Thank you, Aleal! My name is Serafeyna, and I can’t wait to see you all at tomorrow’s show!” The crowd continued to cheer, and-- because it was most definitely still the summer solstice and not nearly a month later due to someone’s procrastination-- Sera couldn’t help but giddily think, Happy Birthday to me~~ Flash was right, as usual; she really did need to remember to focus on performing.

Arcadie should have been paying a lot more attention to the goings-on in this region. However, with moving, she had focused more on getting to know the region than what was happening. She knew the festival was going to happen from hearsay but hadn't, apparently, payed enough attention to hear that they were doing a contest as well. Oh well. Arcadie could do last minute. So there she was, back stage in her dress and fully ready. At least, as ready as she could be given such short notice. Her Kecleon, Ombre, all black in color was out and ready as well. Finally, it was their turn and Arcadie released the rest of her Pokemon. A all-white Sableye was one and Arcadie placed this one upon her shoulders. "Are we ready?" Even as her Pokemon all nodded, she grinned and nodded as well, saying, "Of course we are."The music started and she started her walk onto the stage. As she walked and the music played, Ombre walked in front of her, blended very well into the blackness of her dress, and used Psybeam in the direction of the audience, pulsing to the music. As soon as the drums kicked in, Esprit (the aforementioned Sableye) used Dazzling Gleam, a burst of light flashing out as the Psybeam dispersed, only to be replaced with small orbs of fire starting to spread from behind Arcadie. Making up things we shouldn't read, indicated it was time for Diamant, a shiny Spiritomb, to extend herself upward from her keystone behind Arcadie, using Nasty Plot to give the impression of doing just that: thinking up things that really just shouldn't be. Then she used Ominous Wind, alluding to the "end of the world" as the song suggested. At this point, Arcadie stood toward the front of the stage and smiled at the audience as the lyrics Feeling as good as love, you could, you can, played, accompanied by a Treecko, named Pomme, sneaking out from her dress and using Attract, winking at the crowd as he held an arm out and slid on his knees toward them, flashing his own shiny coloration proudly. Pomme then would return to Arcadie's side as Esprit would hop down to the other side, the poor Pokemon seeming a little more nervous being separate from her human, but she did her best. The next few lyrics were filled with a Power Gem and a Solar Beam from Esprit and Pomme respectively, aimed into the air like flood lights which they moved back and forth carefully to emulate. Then, to coincide with the lyrics And your eyes are the size of the moon a Shadow Ball was used to recreate a sphere as close in resemblance to a potentially decrepit moon as possible just above Arcadie. It burst, both beams ceasing, and the air filling with another Ominous Wind from Diamant. It was a build-up of sorts, as another Dazzling Gleam would disperse it as the music came to a brief pause after the lyrics We're feeling so good. The music starting back up was filled with more pulsing Psybeam, but also larger rings from somewhere behind Arcadie, near the curtain, which is where the Shadow Ball had come from as well. There, Flambeau was adding effects with Hex. Do you know what I mean? Arcadie held out her hand to her side, posing a questioning stance with her other hand on her hip and her body shifted slightly, a curious look on her face. Man, it feels good to feel this way. Ombre glowed, using Work Up to finally show himself by the red outline for any that hadn't noticed him against the black dress. The next few lyrics, filled mostly with back to the place lyrics, was filled with Pomme darting around using Agility and Ombre using Substitute in attempts to be in two places as the original and copy both moved to opposite sides of the stage. A purple glow from Ominous Wind was mixed with blue flame growing in the background from Flambeau's Inferno, highlighting Arcadie and the other Pokemon. As this reached higher, the music slowed and the lyric once again came: Your eyes are the size of the moon and this time, another sphere was created which rose up over the flames, but was soon followed by Arcadie's sixth and last Pokemon for this appeal. She came from backstage, rising up in time with the Shadow Ball, a black Hydreigon using Dragon Rush to veil herself in blue. The last word of the lyric caused her to spin, dispersing the dragon cloak and, just in time for the extra vocals singing Oooh, ooh, ohh used Hyper Voice to "sing along" in a booming voice. Once the music started to fade out, the Hydreigon would make her way down to Arcadie and the other Pokemon, standing behind them. Flambeau would come to the forefront now, hopping atop the arm of Fée. Once the music stopped, each Pokemon would be returned to their Pokeballs and Arcadie would curtsy, leaving the stage without actually speaking to the crowd. Then she'd turn to the judges and offer another curtsy specifically to them before she'd leave the stage, leaving it empty.
