Terrain: Ruins
Akira wasn't sure what compelled her to come out here. Maybe it was the overall atmosphere from it being Halloween. Maybe it was influence from Karin. Maybe a little of both. She was also a little sour over the random Gastly that showed up when she was gathering candy. Not necessarily because she lost out on a piece of candy when it scared her; just annoyed that it felt the need to scare her out of nowhere like that...okay, maybe she was a little bitter about losing out on the candy. She was allowed to act like a little kid every now and then.
Nevertheless, regardless of her annoyances towards one particular Gastly, she figured it'd be a good chance to get some training in. Even during a holiday, it's no good if all you do is lie around and have fun. Gotta do something productive. Besides, she didn't have very many Ghost-type Pokemon. Catching and training a couple might be a nice change of pace. Not to mention it'd give her something in common with Karin, which is always nice. So yeah. Regardless of why she came out here, she was starting to look forward to it.

Holy crap. She had a feeling she might run into some Ghost-types, but she wasn't expecting one this powerful. Not only was caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the Dusknoir, but she was quite thrilled. They were known to be fairly strong physical attackers, which was most definitely her style; indeed, as far as Ghost-types go, this was one of the few she actually did like. It was a good thing she brought an Ultra Ball with her as well, otherwise, she would've kicked herself for missing out on this opportunity.
Of course, now it was a question of who to use. This was a powerful Pokemon, and all but one of the Pokemon she had with her were in their basic stage. So she was gonna have to be very careful That said, she was pretty sure she knew who to use. It'd be risky, but her plan just might work, so long as she got the jump on the Ghost-type. "Molduga, start with Swagger, then immediately follow with Earthquake! Don't give it time to respond!" She immediately sent her Sandile out, giving him the command just as he emerged.
Thus, the Sandile immediately sprang into action. First, he began shouting and bragging at the Dusknoir, catching its attention and both confusing it and pissing it off. Then, he performed a deceptively powerful stomp, creating a shockwave that traveled along the ground and slammed hard into the Dusknoir. It was then that the Sandile felt an ominous feeling come from the Dusknoir, and started to panic a little when he suddenly couldn't remember how to use Earthquake. But Akira spoke up "Don't worry, I knew this would happen. Just keep calm and do what I say."
The Sandile nodded. Unbeknownst to him, his attack had triggered the Dusknoir's ability to activate; Pressure automatically seals away a move used on whoever has it, rendering them unable to use it for the rest of the battle. A very powerful and potent Ability to be sure, balanced only by the fact that very few non-Legendary Pokemon have access to it. Either way, Akira saw this coming, and purposely had her Sandile use a weaker move; now she could go all out and not worry about Pressure being in the way.
The Dusknoir made an attempt to do...something. Akira couldn't tell exactly what it was trying to do. Only that it failed miserably and seemed to pull a muscle. Or something. Did Dusknoir even have muscles? Who knows. Either way, the confusion did it's thing, leaving it wide open for another attack. "Alright, now use Crunch!" The Sandile nodded, leaping toward the large Ghost-type and opening his jaw wide, fiercely clamping down on its body and inflicting a heavy amount of damage. Not enough to end this right away, but still quite a bit.
The Dusknoir once again tried to retaliate, and despite how muddled its thoughts were, managed to pull through just enough to properly execute the attack. A ghostly flame erupted around its fist, which it then threw at the Sandile. Despite his best efforts, Molduga was unable to dodge the attack, due to supernatural forces guiding the Dusknoir's fist and ensuring it lands a blow. However, he managed to hang in there, and Akira nodded. "Right then! Use Crunch! One more time oughtta do it!" The Sandile nodded.
Once again, he changed in and clamped his jaws on the Dusknoir's body; had it been more aware of its surroundings, it might have been able to dodge the attack. Unfortunately, its mind was too all-over-the-place to focus long enough. Thus, the damage became too great, and the Dusknoir struggled to remain standing; just the moment Akira was waiting for. Grabbing an Ultra Ball, she tossed it at the weakened Dusknoir.

Akira smiled as she watched the large Ghost-type get sucked into the Ultra Ball, and eventually lose in its struggle to not be captured by the black and yellow device. Soon, the ball was transported away and Akira went along her way. Since he was so effective against Ghost-types, she decided to go ahead and leave her Sandile out of his Poke Ball for the time being, especially if they ended up running into any more who were as powerful as that Dusknoir. First things first; he needed a few Potions.
Once he was back in good health, she set off once more, her Sandile at her side as she continued to look around for a Ghost-type to train with and/or catch. When she found her next one, she couldn't help but give a nostalgic smile. Honedge was a Pokemon that was very familiar to Akira, since not only was her first catch a Honedge, but its final evolution is widely considered to be her "signature Pokemon". It's to the point that many people don't realize it wasn't her starter Pokemon.
Either way, she had some second thoughts about using her Sandile here; if this Honedge knew Sacred Sword, it could end very badly for them. If not, it would be a fairly easy battle. In the end, she decided to take the risk. If she could end this battle quickly, it wouldn't matter if it knew the move or not. "Quickly, Molduga! Let's start off with an Earthquake!" The small sand-croc nodded, stomping the ground and sending an earth-shaking shock wave straight at the Honedge.
Despite the Honedge not touching the ground, it was just low enough for the shockwave to knock it to the ground, forcing the sentient blade to take the full force of the attack. Needless to say, this inflicted a lot of damage, though the sword managed to get back up. Then, much to Akira's delight, the sword proceeded to meld with the shadows, immediately emerging from out of her Sandile's shadow to perform a quick slash. Not that she was happy he'd been attacked, of course.
Rather, she was happy that it didn't use Sacred Sword. Either this Honedge didn't know the move, or it sealed its fate by not using it. Either way, this battle was as good as finished. "Now, Molduga! Use Crunch!" The Sandile nodded, baring his teeth as he charged forward. Opening his jaw widely, he jumped up and, once close enough, tightly clamped them down on the blade as hard as he could, only letting go once he landed back on the ground.
The Sandile tossed the Honedge aside, and the Honedge didn't get back up. The battle was over. Akira let out a soft sigh of relief and smiled to her Sandile. "Great job! You're getting better with each battle!"

Akira watched in great joy as, after the battle was over and done with, her Sandile was suddenly enveloped in a bright light. The Pokemon then grew considerably larger in size, and was now standing on two legs. Once the bright light had faded, a Krokorok now stood where the Sandile was, making for a very happy Akira. "Way to go, Molduga! I'm proud of you!" Clearly enjoying his new form, the freshly-evolved Pokemon let out a proud cry. Giving him the a much-deserved chance to rest, Akira returned him to his Poke Ball and continued along her way.
This time a rather strange Pokemon showed itself before her; an Unown. Unown was an...odd one, to say the least. They came in shapes that resembled letters of the alphabet, and could only learn one move; Hidden Power. This, in turn, made it a bit of a crapshoot as to whether your Pokemon would have to worry about being hit with something it's weak to, since the Type of the move is always random. The one saving grace is they're not that powerful, and Hidden Power, while useful for giving a Pokemon coverage it wouldn't otherwise have, was an otherwise average move.
Either way, this Unown spotted her, and it seemed intent on not letting her through without a fight...so guess she might as well get this over-with. "Jazz, you're up!" She sent out her Nidoran, who prepared for battle immediately. Now came the moment of truth; multiple orbs of energy surrounded the Unown, and they were fired in rapid succession at the Nidoran. The attack landed and...didn't appear to do a whole lot of damage. Whatever Type this Hidden Power was, it wasn't very effective against her Nidoran; that was all she needed to know.
"Jazz, use Poison Jab!" The Nidoran nodded, the horn on his head letting off a bright, violet glow as he charged toward the Unown. With a small leap he then jabbed the Unown with his horn, not only inflicting a decent amount of damage but also injecting a large amount of venom, leaving it poisoned. Even despite not having an actual face, it was easy to tell it was in pain as the toxins coursed through its body, though it still had some fight left. Again, it launched orbs of energy at the Nidoran, and again, the damage was minimal.
"Let's finish big! Use Horn Drill!" The Nidoran nodded, charging forward with all of its might and going into a powerful spin. Ramming horn-first into the Unown with all his might, the Nidoran sent the bizarre Psychic-type crashing to the ground. This battle was over. With a smile, Akira looks to her Nidoran and nodded. "Great job, Jazz!"

Another battle ended, and another Pokemon evolved. Immediately following his victory over the Unown, her Nidoran was enveloped in the same bright light that her Sandile was a moment ago, though his transformation was far less drastic. All he did was simply grow in size, and that was it. Nevertheless, Akira was quite proud when she saw the Nidorino standing in place of the Nidoran. Returning him to his Poke Ball, she continued along. However, rather than a Ghost-type, it seemed fate had a different encounter in mind for the end of this trip; a Cubone!
Well now...this was a pleasant surprise. She had come out here looking for ghosts, but had forgotten that Cubone sometimes like to hang out in places like this. And contrary to the reputation that Cubone had for being weepy and lonely, this one seemed quiet feisty and more than capable of taking care of it self. Which was good, since Akira had every intention of catching this Pokemon. She was always a fan of Marowak, so she wasn't about to let a chance like this pass her by. But who to use?
It occurred to her that, of those who hadn't evolved yet, most of her Pokemon were weak to Ground. Needless to say, this was kinda bad. Which left her with one option. "Alright Hulk Davidson! You're up!" The energetic Pokemon appeared from his Cherish Ball, wasting no time in hyping himself up for the battle. Akira couldn't help but let out a chuckle; the Totodile was, if nothing else, fun to watch. The Cubone, determined to meet the challenge head on, made the first move, repeatedly stomping the ground to create multiple shock waves.
The Totodile was unable to avoid the attack, and the damage was pretty decent, but he was still raring to go. Akira nodded. "Time to go on the offensive. Use Ice Fang!" The Totodile practically grinned, baring his teeth as he charged forward. He then bit down on the Cubone's body, while freezing energy gathers around his teeth, which is immediately released into the body of the Ground-type. It inflicted a fairly great amount of damage, though the Cubone was able to free itself. Needless to say, it wasn't amused at all.
Jumping back to put some distance between them, the Cubone immediately threw its bone at the Totodile, landing a decent hit. However, it kept going, immediately turning around to strike the Totodile again as it came back. This left the Water-type fairly weak, but he had one good attack left in him, and that was all he needed. Once the Cubone caught the bone, Akira nodded. It was time to end this battle, and Akira knew just the attack to do so. "Hulk Davidson, use Waterfall!" The Totodile nodded.
First, he hunkered down, as a large amount of water began swirling around his body. Then he charged forward and, upon getting close enough to strike, attacked with a rising tackle, with all of the water rushing upwards to hit the Cubone in the process. This proved too much for the Ground-type to handle, and it hit the ground, unable to get back up. Akira nodded, grabbing an empty Poke Ball and tossing it at the fallen Cubone. This was going to be a great addition to her team.
