Kristina Mira Vasiliev
Krissy/Kris/Kristal | 18 (July 22) | Female / Panromantic Demisexual |
Faraday/Travels | Coordinator | Actress/Performer |
Appearance
At 4’11’’ and with a slender build, Kris is not really made for speed or strength. She’s lithe but has only lean muscle, and some doors have been too heavy for her to open before. She’s rather pale but not sickly. Her skin is surprisingly smooth and well maintained. Scratches are maintained with care so that they do not scar or blemish for too long. A clear coat of nail polish is kept on to keep her nails from breaking, and she takes very good care of them otherwise. She tries, very hard, to project an almost ethereal feel.
Kris’s long white hair is particularly luminous and well taken care of, probably her best feature so far. She often ties it back in simple pig tails when out but has been known to let it down when performing or acting. Her yellow eyes accent this, easily becoming the focal point of her face. She is naturally young-looking, and people have mistaken her for much younger than she actually is. A little makeup may help this, but not by much. She can seem rather ghosty under the right lights but she tries to avoid that.
Clothes clothes clothes! Kris mostly wears dresses and skirts, choosing for simple but elegant. One of her biggest aesthetics is space, and she loves filling her wardrobe with them. A pair of nebula stockings? Hers! A deep blue flowy dress? Also, hers! She loves playing dress up in general and has a lot of fun with it.
Personality
An upbeat, sweet but spunky type is what Kris tries very hard to show to others. She smiles readily, giggles openly, and offers compliments just as much as possible. This is most of what the press and her former acting staff try very hard to promote as well. She’s cute, what more could you ask for?
…A lot of things, apparently. This image of her is something Kristina has tried to maintain over the years, and it has really drained her in one way or another. While she has a naturally tender heart and is quick to offer a smile, kind word, or otherwise, a lot of it is superficial, force of habit, and less meaningful than a comment on the weather.
Kris doesn’t feel a lot of things. Moments of joy and warmth are fleeting. Embarrassment is high in only specific things. But even negativity just… isn’t that extreme with her. It’s hard for her to relate to others who feel things deeply or straightforwardly, and to some that know her better, she can even be pretty cold or apathetic. She tries not to be but— meh.
Relating to others is, as was stated, hard. However, Kris finds so much more freedom to express and connect with others over the internet. It’s so very easy to type ‘lol’ even if she doesn’t actually laugh and somewhere deep down it feels more real even? It’s hard to explain. Still, she’s made some of her best and closest friends online and has a bunch of guilty pleasures that come with the internet. It is one of her few emotional outlets, and she treasures it deeply.
Very in tune with her likes and aesthetics, Kris loves space themes and things related to it. She wishes to get closer to celestial heavens as well as the earth and has been on a sort of “spiritual journey” with it for a long time. She has tried very hard to meditate and practice things that are supposed to help, but just as much, it is hard. Well, she has room to grow or so she keeps reminding herself.
History
The child of a well-off businessman and his movie star wife (Mr. Victor Vasiliev and Mrs. Lizette de Vaux respectively), Kristina was born into a busy household. Despite hectic schedules and the ruckus of life in general, both her parents tried to make time for their daughter. Her maternal family was especially active early on, and her maternal grandparents often filled in the roles of baby sitters when her parents were busy.
Growing up, Kristina had everything she could ask for and then some. Her parents were quick to spoiler her in all forms and fashions. She had designer clothes and the most advanced toys. She had Pokemon that, while they were never technically hers, were around in a large abundance. Still, a lot of her early years were spent on the stages of sets where her mother played large roles and only grew to be more famous in time. Even before she could remember, Kristina was put into several small roles as a child actress, mostly in parts that were in conjunction with her mother’s. This would change the older she got as she came into her own as a small celebrity of sorts. She had numerous roles and worked a lot for a kid her age. Her parents went for private tutoring so she could have time to handle all this.
Still, for a long time, Kris didn’t exactly have ‘friends’. Her parents had a lot of colleagues who had children, but they were all little assholes to one another and didn’t connect near as cohesively or naturally as regular children would. For a while, Kris started to grow reclusive, spending more time online surfing than hanging out with others. She learned the standard ways to address adults and what was necessary to keep good standing with her parents but … Eh? She always felt like something was missing even early on, and there were so few places she could seek refuge from.
It came as somewhat of a surprise when her parents announced they were getting a divorce. It very much confused nine-year-old Kristina as well. The adults in her life tried to explain it to her, but her parents had done such a good job keeping things behind closed doors and out of earshot of their daughter that she actually couldn’t fathom them disliking each other. Still, thereafter she’d live with her mom’s family for a while and spent weekends and holidays with her father. Over the next several years, she’d watch her parents get remarried several times over and come to believe that relationships just were not made to last. It was… disheartening for a young impressionable child.
She would have numerous siblings as the years went on, some she would only meet once her parents divorced and others would be born into the ever-growing family. Her father seemed to be the most... prolific if one could use that term. However, he had the money to take care of his children and seemed to believe that validated his toxic habits. Her mother had fewer children but seemed to still put her career before all of them. During this time, Kristina was closest with her grandparents, but even they seemed to have problems now and again. It just… wasn’t a great situation.
She tried very hard to ignore these things, tried very hard to be impervious to these things. She walked around with a smile and wished very dearly to be the light of people’s lives. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t, but she never did stop trying. Around the time she was ten, however, her mother’s industry had put a damper on her spirits, and she sought refuge away from it all. She could have gone for a Pokemon Journey, probably, but as pampered as she was, Kristina was vaguely aware this was not a good idea on its own. Instead, she found a respectable boarding school in a different region, applied, and got in. Her parents were actually very proud of her for the initiative.
After some paperwork and an unexpected present in the form of a Gothita from her mother, Kritina found herself in Lilycove, Hoenn studying at a prestigious academy. Her first semester in Lilycove was probably the hardest. Technically the school dorms were right within walking distance of the school, but she did not anticipate how big the city was nor how hard it was to get around beyond campus. The Gothita her mother had given her to be her companion did help somewhat and got her out of a few stressful situations, but to say the least it was a learning curve. One thing she did benefit from, however, was learning to take care of herself in a relatively safe environment. Her teachers were always there to help her, but she grew a backbone she wouldn’t have had otherwise and started to branch out beyond herself.
The following semester, she started to try out contests. It started as a vague, passing interest, but when it seemed her Gothita liked it— well, she couldn’t deny having a strong interest in it as well. They had fun, and over time Kristina would slowly amass a considerable number of Pokemon. The more time she had to define herself, the more genuinely happy Kristina came to be. Still, friends were hard to come by, and she sought online experiences often. She made dozens of friends on the web under the alias KristalComet308, and it was the most she’d ever really felt connected to others before. She had one friend in particular who became her very very bestest best friend over time.
School trips became Kris’s unofficial Pokemon Journey of sorts. She saw much of Hoenn and learned a lot of the culture. She was even gifted a starter Pokemon in the form of a Mudkip after talking with a local professor. She was always home for holidays and vacation time but was always just as quick to head out again once school started. Unexpectedly one day, her mother phoned some people in Hoenn about picking her up for some small acting roles there she was… frustrated, angry? She didn’t want her mother’s help or necessarily to do this work anyways. Sure, she liked acting and performing but wanted to choose what she did! Something of a cold war became the stalemate between the two of them. Kristina wouldn’t budge and neither would her mother. She stopped going home on holidays after that.
As years went on, Kris withdrew somewhat. Her teachers were harder on her, and what friends she’d made had either moved or weren’t the same people as before. Worse still, she awakened to her telepathy when she was sixteen and became horribly aware of other people’s thoughts towards her at any given moment in time. She felt isolated from others than she had before and couldn’t really be genuine about what things bothered her. She never even considered telling anyone about her powers because— who was legitimately interested in her anyways? Apparently, no one in particular, and that was particularly disheartening.
Kris spent a lot of time online, and it was here that she found a safer haven. People were anonymous, and she couldn’t read people’s thoughts. It was perfect. She even took a break from contests to spend more time online, and well… she very briefly (read as several years) forgot that she even really liked doing them. She just “had a lot going on” apparently. This lessened as she neared graduation and started to actually freak out about what she was going to do once she did graduate. A part of her was almost afraid to go home, yet another part of her deeply missed Veria (for some reason???). Her extra special friend was also there too so!!!! So she’d just focus on the positives, right???
But… Uhm, that still… sort of… put her in a weird spot in terms of job, didn’t it? She tried contacting Dad about getting an office job or something, but he was always so busy and seemed to never have time for her now. After some hesitation, she went to her mother and agreed to start taking up acting roles again. In the meantime, she’d also keep a lookout for other work including contests.

Skills (4/11)
Telepathy (Major) (2): Kris’s telepathy is very potent but as of right now, her powers seem constrained to human thoughts. She understands her Pokemon at the base level that regular trainers do but has never actually been able to hear their mental voices in the way some psychics can. Instead, her powers seem geared almost exclusively to humans whose minds she is acutely aware of. Stray thoughts are like white noise, and while she can tone them down, she can’t shut them out completely. She can mentally connect to and talk with up to 10 willing humans but has headaches at even this level. Her greatest skill, however, is prying. She can ebb through a person’s mind to thoughts that lie deeper in their hearts, and while some are aware of her presence, others might not be. She’s used this skill mostly to cheat or get quick answers from time to time.
Precognition (Minor) (1): Kris has just awakened to this power and hasn’t quite recognized it just yet. She has a sense of déjà vu more often than not when it does happen as most of her visions apply directly to her life. She will grow more aware of it in time as the triggers become more prominent and harder to deal with.
Telekinesis (Minor) (1) - Kris can carry a few pounds at a moderate pace, or something a bit larger than a Pikachu with some difficulty. Living things can resist being moved this way. Up to 10lbs (4.5kg) can be carried pretty comfortably; 10-15lbs (4.5-7kg) may cause some strain and headaches if sustained for long, and 15-20lbs (7-9kg) is most Minors' limit, movement being slowed greatly and only able to be maintained in short bursts. Furthermore, focus may only comfortably be split between about 5-10 objects.
