Terrain: Rugged 2 (using a Quesionable Candy (obtained here) to search for a Tauros)
Alouette quietly rode through the outskirts of Liggs on the back of her recently evolved Gogoat, clearly enjoying the new ride. Despite how deceptively strong he was, riding on the back of her Skiddo was a little awkward due to how small he was. It was manageable, but not always ideal. How that he was evolved, however, the overall experience was a considerably smoother. It helps that the Grass-type more than doubled in size upon evolving, and was now almost as tall as she was. Riding him was a lot easier, plus it looked a tad less awkward.
Nevertheless, Alouette actually had a reason for coming out here. While her Gogoat and Doduo were great for quickly covering a lot of ground, none of them were especially effective at clearing through especially large boulders or groups of rocks. Her Gogoat could manage smaller once, but larger ones were still trouble. Hence, she was hoping to find a Pokemon who was not only fast, but had a lot of muscle behind it. In fact, she had the perfect Pokemon in mind, and she had heard that they could be found not far from Liggs.
As such, she kept an eye open. Plus, who knows? Might be some other Pokemon worth catching and adding to her team.

Alouette couldn't believe her luck. She hadn't been searching for long, and she had already found just the Pokemon she was looking for. Though, now that she was looking at it from close up, she was beginning to wonder if this was such a good idea after all. But no. She was here, and she found what she was looking for; with alarming ease, at that. She refused to back down now. Not to mention now would be a good chance to try battling with one of her newer Pokemon. They were a gift from a rather handsome lady, and she didn't plan on wasting it.
"Blister, it's time for a battle!" With a toss of a Poke Ball, she sends out her Mankey, who spots the Tauros and goes wide-eyed. The Tauros' intimidating appearances causes the Mankey to cringe a bit. However, this only made her even more worked up, thus the intimidation attempt backfired by making the Mankey even stronger. Gotta love the ability Defiant. Even better, she was able to catch the Tauros off-guard, allowing her Mankey to get the first hit in. "Blister, use Cross Chop!" The small Fighting type responded immediately, crossing her arms and moving in to deliver a powerful double-chop right on the Tauros' head.
Despite the obvious size difference, the attack had a devastating effect on the Tauros; Mankey was small, but quite the powerhouse. It made it easy to underestimate it, which was precisely why the Tauros didn't bother dodging. It was a mistake that it was already regretting; and one that Alouette and Blister weren't planning to make. The Tauros charged forward, attempting to gore the Mankey with its horn, but she was quick to respond, using her small size to her advantage and quickly jumping out of harm's way just as the attack was about to hit. Alouette smiled; considering this was their first battle together, it was going very well.
"Let's go again! Use Cross Chop!" The Mankey nodded, once again charging in with her arms crossed, but he was ready for her this time. Just as the attack was about to land, the Tauros jumped away at the last second. Then, he retaliated instantly, striking once again with his horns and landing a direct hit with them. Not unsurprisingly, the attack from the Tauros inflicted a lot of damage, though the Mankey managed to hang on despite the damage. Letting out a heavy sigh of relief, Alouette stopped to weigh her options.
"He'll probably be expecting another Cross Chop...so..." Alouette nodded, speaking quietly to her Mankey. "...move in quickly and use Thrash. That should catch it off guard, and still be plenty powerful enough to do the job..." The Mankey nodded, charging toward the Tauros, who was unsure of what to expect. This ended up being just enough to allow the Mankey to catch it off guard as she began lashing out violently and suddenly. The attack hit, and it hit hard, leaving the Tauros struggling to stay on its feet.
With a smile, Alouette saw he chance and took it; grabbing an empty Poke Ball, she immediately tossed it at the weakened Tauros, hoping to add it to her collection. She even had the perfect nickname in mind for it.

Alouette grinned widely as the Tauros was caught. Granted, he was going to be a bit of a handful, but she was confident that she could tame him into becoming exactly the kind of mount she needs for extremely rocky terrain. Still, since she was already out here, there didn't seem to be any harm in looking around a bit more; especially since she'd already managed to fulfill her goal in coming out here. It was a pleasant surprise, to say the least. Either way, she gave her Mankey a few much-needed Potions, then continued along.
However, in this particular instance, a wild Pokemon found her. She had never seen a Todegemaru before, and while it was cute, she didn't particularly have any interest in it. Maybe some other time, but she wanted to focus on Pokemon who could move quickly and/or fight off anything/anyone who tries to get in her way while she makes a delivery. However, despite her intentions, this Togedemaru appeared to be quite territorial, and had no intentions of letting her go anytime soon. Realizing a battle was inevitable, Alouette let out a sigh.
Her Mankey, however, was quick to rise to the challenge, prompting a smile. It was hard not to smile at the small Fighting-type's determination. With a nod, she called out to the Mankey "Quickly, before it can act! Use Cross Chop!" The Mankey nodded, and was quick to move in, crossing her arms as she performed a powerful double-chop on the spiny rodent. The attack inflicted a staggering amount of damage, almost instantly knocking out the Togedemaru. Almost. The Electric/Steel-type managed to hang on by a thread, and it wasn't amused.
Turning its back to the Mankey, its spines began to glow brightly as five of them were launched at the Mankey in rapid succession. Each individual spine didn't do much in the way of damage, but with five of them hitting, the damage added up very quickly, and Alouette couldn't help but frown. She wasn't sure if her Mankey could withstand another attack like that, so she had to end this quickly. As much as it felt like overkill, she needed to be absolutely sure to finish this Pokemon off. "One more attack should do it, Blister! Use Punishment!"
The Mankey nodded, rushing in once more and attacking with a quick jab. Even at its weakest, it was far more power than needed. Plus using Cross Chop again would just be unnecessarily cruel at this point. Either way, the Togedemaru collapsed, no longer able to battle. "Sorry about that, little one; it wasn't anything personal." And from there, they moved on.

Alouette smiled as she continued along. At first, she was rather iffy about taking this Mankey when she first got them. The Doduo made sense, as it was great for riding (or at least it will be once it's fully evolved). But Mankey and Primeape weren't exactly well-suited for being ridden. The woman who offered the Pokemon to her insisted, stating it would be good to have at least a couple heavy hitters on her team in case she ends up in a serious battle. And with the way her Mankey's been performing, she was glad that the woman talked her into it.
Speaking of which, the two of them were met with another territorial Pokemon, and this one couldn't have been more perfect for her Mankey to deal with if it tried. With a sigh, she looked to her Mankey, who was already itching to fight it. Alouette would prefer to avoid an unnecessary battle, but she couldn't exactly say no to the fiery girl either. With a smile and a nod, she spoke to him. "Alright, but let's make this quick. and try not to go hurt it any more than necessary." The Mankey nodded.
"Now, Blister! Use Cross Chop!" The Mankey nodded, rushing in and striking with a powerful double chop. However, the Aron saw this coming, using Protect to erect a barrier at the last second that would block all damage. "How annoying..but there's no way it can do that a second time! Use Cross Chop again!" The Mankey nodded, not losing any momentum as she went in to attack again, landing a crushing blow against the Aron. However, the Aron managed to just barely hang on due to its Ability, Sturdy.
Alouette smiled, looking at the creature just as the woman's words came to mind "...yeah...maybe I will catch you...not sure what to name you though..." Alouette grabbed an empty Poke Ball and tossed it at the heavily-weakened Aron. She'd think of a name later.

Apparently, Alouette's Mankey was a lot closer to evolving than she realized, because once the Aron's capture was confirmed, her entire body suddenly started glowing brightly. Her body grew larger, her arms and legs becoming more muscular, while her tail appeared to shrink away. Alouette smiled brightly as the late faded and she saw the new form of her Pokemon. It was hardly her first time evolving a Pokemon, but she never got tired of watching it, and it always made her proud of them. To know that their hard work was paying off was the best feeling ever.
After giving the Primeape a moment to admire her new form, Alouette returned her for a much-deserved rest, then continued along. It wasn't long before she encountered another Pokemon, or two in this instance. The first thing she noticed was the Makuhita, though once she realized what it was doing, attacking a poor Slakoth who clearly didn't want to battle, Alouette was not amused. She could understand if the Makuhita was looking for a challenge, but to bully another Pokemon into a battle when it clearly didn't want to was not okay.
"Hey! You! If you're so eager for a battle, then take me on!" In that moment, she sent out her Doduo, who looked around, then to the two wild Pokemon. It didn't take long for him to figure out that it would be the Makuhita that they were going to fight. The Makuhita was the first Pokemon to make a move, charging forward and gathering a large amount of energy into its palm, before slamming it into the side of the Doduo. The attack did a decent chunk of damage, but the worrying part came afterwards, when the Doduo showed signs of being paralyzed.
Alouette frowned, wondering if she should switch her Doduo out, but the two-headed bird insisted on staying in the fight; despite her worries, Alouette decided to trust in him to pull it off. With a nod, she called out to him. "Well, since this Pokemon decided to paralyze you, let's throw it back into his face! Use Facade!" The Doduo nodded, managing to overcome the paralysis and charging at the Makuhita while one of the head's beak let out a bright glow. The attack struck true and the damage was devastating, instantly ending the fight right there.
The Makuhita proceeded to run away, and the Slakoth gave Alouette a grateful nod before wandering off...very slowly. Nevertheless, Alouette was quite happy with how this trip turned out. Thus, she prepared to head home for the day. Between catching that Tauros and her Pokemon evolving, it was quite a fruitful venture.
