Terrain: Cavern 1 (using a Quesionable Candy (obtained here) to search for a Salandit)
With Marceline's criminal empire ever-growing, Misora felt she could no long after to simply lay around and let herself be pampered by the older woman; no matter how tempting that thought was, she needed to do more to be of more use to her. For now, that meant going out and catching more Pokemon. In fact, there was one Pokemon in particular that had caught her interest, and not just because it was a Poison-type. Granted, Misora has discovered that she has something of an affinity for Poison-types ever since she was taken in by Marceline.
But it was more than that. It was this particular Pokemon's Ability that piqued her interest. Apparently, its toxins were so potent that it could even inflict poison on Steel-types and even other Poison-types, even though both types were usually immune to such effects. The only disappointing thing was that it only applied to Poison-type Status moves, and not attacks like Sludge Bomb or Venoshock. But still. Given how much she loves to make her opponents suffer via status ailments, this particular Pokemon sounded perfect.
Thus, she set off to the last known location one where one could apparently go to find them; some caverns outside of Pahala. Given that this Pokemon was also part Fire-type, one would think they'd avoid such a place, but whatever. She had no reason to doubt the information.

Well that was unexpectedly easy. It wasn't long after she'd entered the cave where Salandit could apparently be found, and she already found herself face-to-face with one. Better yet, it appeared to be a female one, which was good since, from what she heard, only female Salandit were capable of evolving. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at that, wondering if it was actually true or not. But since she ran into a female one anyway, she might as well catch it since there was no risk of finding out otherwise.
Fire and Poison was quite the interesting combination, and she had just the Pokemon to deal with it. "Syn, you're up!" With a toss of a Poke Ball, she sent out her Skrelp. The best way to deal with a Poison/Fire-type? Send out a a Poison/Water-type. Of course, since her Toxapex was already fully-evolved, she needed to get some experience for her Skrelp. In fact, she was greatly looking forward to when she would evolve. Dragalgae was right up her alley in terms of both appearance and usefulness.
Of course, she was rather unsubtle in her approach, so the Salandit was alerted to her presence almost instantly and went on the defensive. She began by inhaling deeply, and exhaling a thick, toxic cloud of smoke at the Skrelp. The attack, of course, did barely any damage whatsoever. However, she was caught off guard when the smoke (quite literally) cleared, and she saw something she never saw coming; the attack had left her Skrelp poisoned! "What the! How is that even possible...wait...you don't mean..."
She'd actually forgotten about it in the moments leading up to this battle, only just then remembering. "So...what they said was true then...you can Poison other Poison-types...and maybe even Steel-types..." A sadistic grin flashed across her face. Imagine the possibilities. Now she had to catch this Pokemon. Despite being poisoned, a feeling that was completely and utterly alien to the small Skrelp (and no doubt all Poison-type Pokemon in general), she was still raring to go. Misora nodded.
"Fine then. We'll make it regret what it did to you. Use Water Pulse! Don't hold anything back!" The Skrelp nodded, gathering a large amount of water and forming it into a perfectly shaped orb in front of her. Then, she launched said orb of water right at the Salandit, landing a direct hit and inflicting a heavy amount of damage. The Salandit managed to hang in there, but it was visibly struggling to stay standing. Not that Misora cared. The Poison/Fire-type attempted to retaliate, shooting a stream of fire at the Skrelp from its mouth.
However, the damage was negligible due to the Skrelp's resistance to Fire. Misora just grinned. "Finish it off. Use Water Pulse, and don't hold back!" The Skrelp nodded, forming yet another orb of water and launching it at the Salandit. The attack landed with just as much force as the one before it, and the overwhelming amount of damage ended up being far more than the lizard could endure. A merciful trainer would have had their Pokemon hold back a bit to avoid needlessly harming the poor thing; Misora was anything but merciful.

"Very good. You did well, Syn." Despite her dismissive tone, she was actually quite proud of her Skrelp, and very much pleased at catching the Salandit. She just had a hard time showing it. Nevertheless, the Skrelp seemed to pick up on the subtle hints of her actual feelings, and was thus pleased to get the praise. She returned the small Pokemon to their ball, and continued along. Even though she'd gotten what she came for, it was a lot sooner than expected. Thus, she now found herself suddenly with a lot of time to kill. Might as well beat up some more Pokemon.
Her next opponent would show itself soon, and she couldn't help but frown when she realized what it was. Sableye was known for being a rather annoying Pokemon to go up against, especially since they only have one weakness; Fairy. Misora's initial instinct was to just have her Wigglytuff blast it away, but she quickly remembered she had another Fairy-type in her current party; one who could use come combat experience. This would be Misora's first time using her in a battle, but she wouldn't have brought them with her if she didn't think they could handle it.
Grabbing a Poke Ball, she sent out her Morelull, who looked between her trainer and the wild Sableye, quickly deducing what was going on and readying for battle. Misora nodded. "Mycena, use Confuse Ray. Don't give it a chance to think things through." The Morelull nodded, her eyes flashing as she fired a beam of light that seemingly pierced the Sableye's mind, leaving it in a confused state. The Sableye tried to respond in kind, somehow how got dizzy while trying to do so and simply fell on its face. Not the most graceful of moves, and Misora couldn't help but let out a sadistic chuckle at the sight.
That said, she probably shouldn't drag this out more than needed and risk giving the Sableye a chance to turn this around. As much as she wanted to make the Sableye suffer a little more, now wasn't the time for it. "Alright let's put the stupid thing out of its misery. Use Dazzling Gleam." The Morelull nodded, the tip of its mushroom letting off an intense glow as it unleashed a blast of bright light at the Sableye. Misora wasn't entirely sure how an attack like this even worked, but she couldn't argue with the result; the Sableye took a heavy amount of damage.
The Sableye tried to attack once again, and managed to collect its thoughts just enough to do so. Ghostly flames surrounded its claws as it swiped at the small mushroom-like Pokemon, and the attack did a respectable amount of damage. But this was as good as over. "Do it again. Use Dazzling Gleam." Misora didn't even bother to pretend she was enjoying this. She let out an annoyed sigh as the Sableye fell, though she did offer a sincere smile to her Morelull. She wasn't sure about her when she first caught her, but she'd just proven herself quite useful.
"Good job, Mycena. Keep it up, alright?"

Misora continued along, allowing her Morelull to follow along. To be personally honest, she always found the strange Pokemon to be a little fascinating. Between it's overall appearance to its type combination (which was, to her knowledge, shared by only one other family of Pokemon), it was a fairly unusual creature all around. Even by Pokemon standards. Additionally, while she knew of its evolved form, she'd yet to actually seen what it looks like or what it's capable of. She could only only begin to imagine what such a weird Pokemon would evolve into.
But enough about glowing mushrooms. Instead, Misora's attention was brought to the Clampearl that had dared to place itself on her path. For what it was worth, it hadn't intended on doing anything to Misora, and was just hopping along, minding its own business. But Misora didn't care. The mere sight of it annoyed her, especially since she viewed it as a poor-man's imitation of her Cloyster, so she felt compelled to destroy it. "Mycena, we're battling again. I want that ugly Water-type to suffer." Even though the Morelull was disturbed by her trainer's choice of words, she complied.
The Clampearl, however, had overheard the two of them, however, and was prepared to defend itself. A thin red layer of energy surrounded its shell, which then "broke" away and disappeared; having used the move quite a bit herself, Misora knew the move well. "Shell Smash...hah. Big mistake! Now, Mycena, use Thunder Wave!" The Morelull nodded, generating a large amount of weak static with her body and firing it at the clam-like Pokemon. This left the small creature paralyzed, though it did manage to force itself to attack, shooting a weak jet of water at the mushroom. It...wasn't very effective.
Misora grinned as the poor creature struggled to move, taking an unhealthy amount of glee from its misfortune. However, she then saw Morelull feeling kinda bad for it, and felt an annoying sting of something resembling a conscience. "Ugh...fine...I was getting bored anyway. Use Giga Drain to put the stupid thing out of its misery, then lets move along. I should start thinking of heading back anyways." The Morelull complied, forming a large orb of health-draining energy and launching it at the Clampearl. The attack was more than enough to instantly take it out, and it even healed all the damage she'd taken form fighting the Sableye.
Misora let out a sigh. It was hard to be annoyed with the Morelull, especially when she was producing these kinds of results. Maybe it wasn't so bad to not be a sadistic asshole to every wild Pokemon she encountered. At least, not all the time.
