Holiday Cheer!
[attr="class","likedoinfo"]
Winter holidays are approaching, so let's all get into the spirit and spread some good will.
Now for some really exciting news! Have you noticed the new treasure spawn template? Or noticed how fast mods seem to be lately? Well hang tight. There's a lot of info here but rest assured it's all good news.
"But wait!" come the concerned cries. "This sounds like a lot. How will Mods keep up with all this?"
In only about 10 days of work, we bring you a myriad of automatic spawn generators! Treasure rolls and breeding rolls have also been automated! With a majority of work by SG, some guidance from a programmer friend of SG's in figuring out the structure, some help inputting Pokemon info on about a third of the terrains by Yumi (and a small bit of Yumi's work delegated to Teki), mod work is forever reduced and streamlined, and only occasional mission spawns should require manual input.
The generators do a lot, including but not limited to bolding Egg Moves and HAs, randomizing aesthetic forms like Vivillon and Floette (note: for Hordes of aesthetic-only form differences, it's fine to assume there are multiple forms present), displaying the correct image for major gender differences like Pyroar and Frillish, giving a chance to encounter mixed hordes of certain species (examples: Plusle/Minun, Volbeat/Illumise, Cubone and either or both Marowak forms, etc), detecting if a Pokemon being bred is Rare or not, automatically adding messages for all breeding add-ons used, and more. Deerling/Sawsbuck forms now spawn based on the real time (Northern Hemisphere) month because why not. There's another hidden gem or two in there, but some things you might just have to come across.
We ask you report any issues you find in this thread to be fixed.
Note: Currently, all Terrains are done, and Breeding and Treasure rolls are fully done (aside from perhaps adding a timezone setting to breeding rolls; currently it uses the mod's local time so dates might have to be manually taken down by 1 depending on the mod and time, but for the most part it's not too big an issue.) The Mission generators are mostly complete but missing a little info that will be added soon; they're certainly done enough to use effectively right away, however! A Floral Honey generator is going to be a lot more complex than any of the others and SG needs to consult her programmer friend (after a little while to cool down from this and hopefully get Halloween art done), so mods will be manually rolling partners for that but can still auto generate the date info.
Only rolls made and posted by mods count for anything, of course, but if you're as amused by pressing buttons as most of us are, please feel free to have fun poking around and playing with it!
Winter is coming, but don't be blue. This cool friends will certainly warm your heart, day and night... or maybe even... twilight?
For this month, the Swarming Pokémon are...
While we, the Staff, are busy keeping the place in order, there are also other things that happen in the background; certain changes that subtly take place; but are also made aware for everyone to be kept "in the know".
The Patch Notes contain not just the major updates that you, dear member, can read about here in the main announcement; there are also changes that take place in the background; but are also important enough, such as updates to existing rules in the Guidebook; as well as price changes in the PokéMart.
Make sure to check the Patch Notes out every now and then, as this is constantly being updated!

Rapid-Fire Notes
- First up, we do have a bit of "bad news"; sorry! Pinsir and Dhelmise will now be considered Rare Pokemon, and are being moved to the Safari Zone. (More on that in a minute!) Apologies for the inconvenience, but between their stats and some other factors, they definitely belong there.
- Next up, some mixed news. Rare Tax is being raised to Φ40, and being made one uniform price regardless of how many eggs are rolled. It will now also be paid via the Rare Voucher item in the PokeMart. This will be a little smoother on mods, as well as being more reliable than editing money and helping members better keep track of if they have enough by having it paid up front instead of after rolls.
- On the other hand, Ball costs have been reduced across the board! The Safari Tag is now also Φ40, down from 60. Cherish Balls are Φ50 down from 75; Ultra Balls are Φ35 down from 50; and Great Balls are Φ20 down from 30!
- Speaking of unreliable money system, the Proboards issue that affected money and items was fixed, but some members did lose out. If you need money or items reimbursed, please contact a staff member detailing what you lost, and please be honest.
- The Rare Voucher isn't the only new item though. The Clean Slate Capsule recently invented by Sophie and Luke can be found in the shop now! This can replace a freshly caught Pokemon's moves with 4 newly chosen ones, giving up the original moveset but cheaper than buying 4 move techs for the moves you want.
- USUM move tutors are now allowed, and Own Tempo Rockruff / Dusk Lycanroc can be caught. The new Move Tutors don't seem to remove any from ORAS, but on the off chance one's been overlooked, the site is "still allowing" both sets until January, when it's officially fully USUM tutors.
- Sinclair has put out word that they're working on a 5th car for the train! Perhaps we'll hear more about that in a few weeks...?
- Staff has been working for a while on updating the City Info, but would like your input to help please!
- The November Contest is graded! Winners can post in the thread to claim their prizes, while participation prizes will be handed out right away.
- (Speaking of contests SG apologizes profusely for not having the Halloween art done. After settling from moving she got sucked into the project mentioned below and hopes you'll all find it worth the wait.)

Spawning Season!
Now for some really exciting news! Have you noticed the new treasure spawn template? Or noticed how fast mods seem to be lately? Well hang tight. There's a lot of info here but rest assured it's all good news.
- The Spawn Lists have been revamped! There are now more terrains, and the Pokemon have been reorganize accordingly. In doing so, all terrains and Safari areas now? have exactly? 12 Pokemon? Moving Pinsir and Dhelmise contributed to this but was entirely coincidental. We don't know how this worked out. But what it means for you is that almost all the areas are a little smaller, and they're all uniform, which means your odds of finding most (base/baby form) Pokemon are now a little higher and are the same regardless of species. No more 1 in 10 odds for some and 1 in 15 for others!
--- Note: the names are now more diverse, but that doesn't mean you're limited in where/how you can encounter these Pokemon. As long as you're in a city with a correct terrain type, the Pokemon could have wandered from nearby, so for instance you might encounter a Woodland spawn in the most urbanized parts of Alto fine. - You can now spawn up to 6 Pokemon per thread instead of 4! Mods officially won't roll duplicates within the same thread, now, either, UNLESS it's an evolved or otherwise mechanically different form (ex: Alolan forms) from what you already encountered. (Most already didn't spawn duplicates, but it's now official, so if someone does it's on accident and you only need to contact someone to get it replaced.) This means you can go through half of each spawn list in a thread, making your chances of finding what you need by the last spawn 1 in 7 if you didn't roll an evo-"duplicate".
- Catching from hordes no longer ends threads. Be mindful of your 12 catches a month limit, but no need to break your RP flow after only one or two spawns anymore!
- ALL evolutions of common Pokemon can now be found in the wild! Final stages of 3-stage lines and final evos in lines with babies where we treat the basic like an evo-- examples: Tsareena, Eekektross, and Electivire-- will spawn only rarely, but do have a chance of spawning!
- Egg Moves and Hidden Abilities will now be spawned rarely on wild Pokemon! Pokemon have a 5% chance of having their HA and a 10% chance of EM(s), with that 10 being split between a 7% chance of 1 EM and a 3% chance of 2 EMs. (Of course, Pokemon that don't have HAs or EMs won't spawn them.)
--- Certain Pokemon with two useless normal abilities, like Pumpkaboo (both relate to held items, which Hori doesn't use), have higher odds of spawning their HA.
-- HAs will not spawn in the Safari Zone. However, during the occasional event where Rares might spawn outside it, those might have their HA. (For instance, during the Summer Celebration there was a very small chance of starter Pokemon spawning.) - You can now optionally request 2 spawns at a time in catching or training threads! We ask that you please interact at least to some degree with both spawns if you do, and not just use it to spam through a search faster. If you guys handle this well, we may consider upping it to 3. These count against the total spawn count; they just make it possible to do double battles, as well as add potential for more story elements. (Ex: are these spawns friends? rivals? was one hunting the other? Have fun with the possibilities!)
-- When requesting multiple spawns, you will not get horde spawns.
