Iridium Unnerve Dragon Dance | Dragon Pulse | Slash | Dragon Claw
--- | He was still on his adventure to catch a team, and this time, his adventure had him out in the arid badlands outside of Carrefor Town. The locals seemed to think it was getting a little chilly, but to hunter, holy hell it was hot. He had ditched his jacket in his rucksack when he went outside and let out a heavy sigh. There was plenty of space in his rucksack and that extra space had an Axew and an Abra occupying it.
As per usual, Barium led the way as Osmium and Iridium let their heads hang out of the rucksack to feel the wind in their face. With what he was looking for, he had to be especially cautious of the ground below him. He watched as auras all about him moved though. It'd be ridiculous of him to watching nothing but the ground. With a small laugh, he pressed forward over the rocky ground, Barium careful to touch his paws to any noticeable rock, and lead Hunter around anything that may trip him up.

--- | Hunter was minding his own business, really. So were all three of his pokemon. He saw the aura of a Cacnea as they walked past a rock, so he kindly waved to it, and left it at that. He was going to leave it at that too until it smacked him on his ass with one of it's arms. Feeling tears prick in the corner of his vision, hunter bent his knees and sat on his heels, one head ducked down. On the verge of either feeling horribly ashamed or laughing.
Barium began barking at the Cacnea, viciously, and Osmium was letting out an angry abra. Before any of them could react though, Iridium was already on the attack, blasting a dragon pulse at the Cacnea. The Cactus pokemon was bounced up and down one of the slopes of the badlands. It didn't hurt that badly that it needed to be blasted down a hill. But come on. Well. It was nice to know that his new addition already had his back.
Standing up, rubbing at his eyes and sucking in a deep breath, Hunter chuckled a few more times before carrying on down the trail.

Osmium Synchronize Teleport | Shadow Ball | Energy Ball
Barium Intimidate Crunch | Flamethrower | Reversal | Leer
Iridium Unnerve Dragon Dance | Dragon Pulse | Slash | Dragon Claw
oh shit waddup | While climbing up a slope, Hunter's aura sight had picked up on some sort of group of auras, but now that he was up close, he picked out that it was a group of Pokemon, all centered around one lone pokemon, cowering. It's aura was horrified, scared for it's life. He wanted to run in and help, but he couldn't. All of his pokemon and him remained hunkered down as Hunter went over a game plan in his head. There was no way he'd let these bullies continue to walk around, wild.
He knew nature had it's ways, but as he looked around the valley, various other auras were weak or fading, laying on the ground in a pattern that seemed like they were all ambushed. It was just his guess though, educated as it was, that doesn't mean they were guilty. But yes, by all means, these guys weren't going to get away from him without at least learning a harsh lesson though.
Without so much as a sound, Hunter tapped Barium's shoulder and had him move him to a rock he could use as partial cover. "Iridium, to the right and Dragon Dance, Barium go to the left and Osmium." Abra could read minds, so he was more than sure Osmium knew what he wanted, and it showed through when the Abra crawled up onto his shoulder, head leaning against his masters as Hunter placed the rucksack down behind a rock.
As Iridium started up her dragon dance, the Drapion turned around to notice the Axew behind him, doing .. what was that? Grumbling to his four lackeys, the pokemon turned away from their weakened victim and started rushing the dragon that was obviously up to something. This gave the injured pokemon time to get away and get to safety. Good. "Barium, flamethrower to the Drapion!" The biggest threat needed to be focused, and since he couldn't see the terrain well at all, he'd have to rely on Osmium to move him if they got too close.
His Growlithe did as commanded, hopping out from behind cover and blowing a stream of fire towards the Drapion and company, catching a skorupi in the crossfire. Good. The Drapion though, angered, let out another growl and started stomping towards Hunter. "Iridium! Dragon Pulse the group of Skorupi." He had Barium and Osmium there to protect him, they needed to continue working on the rest of them while the Drapion's attention was now on the guy that had the resources to teleport.
Watching as Iridium blasted a powerful beam at the Skorupi, effectively knocking them back and scattering them, he turned his attention to the Drapion right as it was almost on top of him. Osmium gripped onto Hunter and teleported to the left of a vicious nightslash. "Barium! Flamethrower again! Osmium! Shadowball!" He knew he was close to the Drapion still, so he was gonna feel this. As he backed up, a couple of steps until Osmium pressed against his head as a sign to stop, Barium ran to his new position and let loose another Flamethrower, aiming to engulf the Drapion's head, and succeeding. Once the flamethrower ended, Osmium was already on top of throwing a shadow ball into the chest of the Drapion, pushing it back some more.
The wear and tear was starting to get to the Drapion, and so far, Iridium still had the four Skorupi distracted. Noticing the Skorupi were halfway up the rock to his Axew, who was already dancing again on top of the rock, working herself up. "Iridium! Hop off the rock and Dragon Pulse this Drapion!" It was getting weak, they almost had it down. Once it was down, he could try to catch it and focus on the other four that were approaching as Iridium made her way down.
Hunter immediately ducked at the waist though when he felt the air around him as a Dragon Pulse blasted the Drapion down. Without hesitation, Osmium passed an Ultra ball to Hunter so he could throw it down on the weakened Drapion. "Now lets get those Skorupi! Lets sweep, get ready!" Motioning for Barium and Iridium to come to his side while Osmium led him a little further away from the working Ultra ball, they rotated their positions, readying for the four Skorupi coming over.
"Flamethrower, Dragon Pulse, Energy Ball!" Hunter commanded, eyes looking around for other approaching auras while his Growlithe led the attack, sweeping a flamethrower over the Skorupi. He found nothing so he looked back, just in time to feel the air shift around him from heat to pressure as Iridium released another Dragon Pulse, doing the same thing as Barium and sweeping with the attack the best she could.
Just as Osmium was about to create an energy ball though, the whole group of Skorupi released a barrage of Poison Sting straight at the group. Unable to teleport again, Hunter simply dropped to the ground and gripped onto Osmium as all four of Hunter's crew hunkered down. Luckily these things only had a chance to poison someone. His shoulders ached as he felt the needles sting into him and dissipate. Ow. Guess they had this coming. Now the question was how the hell were these things still standing?
Looking over at Barium once it was all over, teeth clenched, he motioned towards the Skorupi with his head. "One more sweep with flamethrower, go!" Something, anything to put a stop to the barrage of needles coming at his team. Watching as Barium stood back up to release one more flamethrower, the heat of the attack was discomforting but it was a nice relief from the stinging pain on his shoulders and upper back.
As the Skorupi all staggered back, weakened from the barrage of special attacks, Hunter stood up and threw a ball towards almost everyone. Osmium even threw one to help. The only crappy part is that one of them, one of the ones in the back specifically, was able to escape. Skittering away before anyone was able to give chase. "Is everyone ok?" He asked as he looked down at the rest of his pokemon. Only three of them, and he was lucky they were all special attackers. If this was against a real person and or pokemon more intelligent than what most would find in the wild, they'd probably be minced meat.

--- | The field was filled with silence. An overbearing silence. All the noise that was erupting prior to throwing the pokeballs was now at a deadstop, he couldn't even pick up on the echoes anymore. With a heavy sigh, he stood up, listening to the four clicks around him resound. Good, most of them were caught, those trouble makers could be moved out of the valley now.
As he tried to make his way to a pokeball to pick it up though, he fell down to a knee, wobbly. "Pssh.. ow." Osmium gave a soft abra and collected the pokeballs, placing them in his rucksack then dragging it over to him. "I think now is a good time for a break. Show of paws?" he asked, voice wobbly, arms shaking from the numerous puncture wounds he had just received. While all of his pokemon raised a paw, he nodded and collapsed onto his rear end.
The stinging sensation was wearing off on it's own, so that was something they had going for them. Looking around at the rest of his pokemon, Hunter frowned and double checked on them. "Good. No one's poisoned." Always a good thing. They took a moment longer to rest, and once all of them agreed to start moving again, they stood up and walked down the trail further this time.
Hopefully without encountering anymore bullies.

--- | With the wounds on his shoulder only a slight throb, he pushed through the badlands, eyes set ahead of him, checking out all the life that bounced about. Things seemed a bit livelier now without those pesky Skorupi running about. He was just about to open his mouth to say something to one of his Pokemon before he heard some cawing above head.
Stopping, he looked up and noticed a Vullaby out of it's nest, seeming to walk towards them in curiousity. "Heya lil... lady? You shouldn't wander too far from your nest, ok?" He spoke with a soft voice, giving the bird a soft wave after walking away from it. He didn't need momma bird swooping in outta nowhere and finding a stranger near her baby.
He didn't want to risk it, so he continued onwards, the sun feeling hotter than it really was on his shoulders. "Still holding up ok?" He asked his Pokemon, getting nods and noises of confirmation from them in turn. "Good... good." As long as they held up ok, he'd keep going until it got time to turn around.
Speaking of time to turn around, looking up and around at the sky, he sighed. Barium noticed what he was looking for and turned around for him, heading back towards town at the normal pace, ever cautious for that Skorupi that escaped the beat down.

--- | Thankfully, the trek back out of the badlands was much easier than the way in. Going down slopes rather than up them was dangerous, yes, but he wasn't struggling to find where his Pokemon had just stepped. He slid down the hill near the bottom and watched as a reptile shaped aura came out over a rock. Uuuuh...
What was that one called again? Helioptile, right. Barium was wagging his tail at the sight of the other pokemon, and his Abra didn't seem too disturbed by it. He didn't want to needlessly beat up and capture random pokemon. But this one wouldn't leave him alone. Noooo, don't make him do something he'd regret. Turning around, he gave the Helioptile a small wave and watched as it got a little too close to Barium for comfort. Frowning, he watched as his Growlithe's fur stood up for a second, only to finally relax and sniff the wild pokemon back.
He was about to speak up and ask if it was lost until he heard a strange, electrical cackling got the Pokemon's attention. It didn't seem threatened and when hunter looked up, he coulda swore he saw a blob of auras together in the distance... which was where the helioptile was heading. He would've focused on distance rather than clarity, but he didn't want to blow any more of his energy than he already had.
With the electric type skittering away, he and his team continued their hike.

inb4 Rage is a terrible move. | So close to getting out of the Badlands. They'd be continuing their approach as well if the ground didn't explode in front of Hunter. He had felt the ground rumble, he had saw the aura under the ground, but Barium was caught off guard when Hunter put a foot on his butt, shoving him out of the way and taking a good pounce from the attacking Krokorok. "Osmium!" He called out, his Abra having teleported and placed the Axew next to the Growlithe, considering it safe enough. "Energy Ball!
Hunter was grunting out his words, hands fighting to keep the Krokorok away from his face until the ball blasted the crocodile in the side, knocking her off and giving Hunter time to stand back up, a little wobbly, but ok. He seriously needed to be more careful, and quit zoning out. Maybe he was still a little dazed from the Skorupi's attacks. There wasn't much he could do to the Krokorok, and he didn't want Iridium to interfere anymore than she had to. Shadow ball wouldn't do much though, so there'd be a lot of spamming.
The Krokorok, after she recovered, clamped her jaw to let out a low hiss at the pesky, floating cat. The human across from them though made a simple motion with his arm towards her and ... welp there it was. She was struck by another energy ball.
Hunter noted how the crocodile became enraged by his Abra, potentially by the way Osmium had a way of lazily throwing attacks at enemies they didn't take seriously. If Osmium wasn't too concerned, then he'd respect his Abra's judgement to call his own teleports. "Just keep up the barrage and watch out for attacks." He spoke under his voice to his Abra as his head turned to check on the Growlithe. "Ay Barium, welcome back. ... sorry I kicked ya buddy, but I wasn't gonna let you take that attack. Are you ok?"
With a confirming yip, Hunter nodded and looked back at the Krokorok, now beginning a charge, pretty much thrashing wildly as she literally charged through a third energy ball, and tried to grab a hold of Osmium... only for Osmium to wind up behind her, floating lazily and looking annoyed at the sorry attempt at an attack.
The Krokorok was a special kind of ignorant, Iridium's face absolutely betrayed the thought as it continued charging her after the abra teleported. With a small "shew", Iridium gave the Krokorok a good warning blast to stick to battling the abra. Dragon pulse exploded the ground in front of her as she stepped in front of Hunter. She wasn't going to have any of her attitude. Not when she was around, nuh uh.
Osmium raised his head when the Krokorok turned around after accepting the warning from Iridium... also after telling her that she'd be back. It was going for another attack with the rage, and it seemed to be stuck in it's rampage. Taking a few hits, Abra let the dark type get in close for another blast from Energy ball.
Krokorok probably would've gotten a pretty good upperhand on them. With a sigh, Hunter held his arms out for Osmium as the Krokorok fell over. "Thank goodness this big girl had no temper control. If she was smart.. well. I trust you guys to handle it." He smiled a bit, rubbing his back with his one free hand, the other cradling Osmium to his body while he let Iridium and Barium take the lead. She didn't want in the bag this time? She actually seemed kinda proud that Hunter said what he did. With a silly grin, he chuckled and watched as she strut her stuff next to Barium.

--- | As they crept their way back to town, all but defeated, Hunter took notice of a rock with a ... he could see this rock. Reaching out, he tapped the rock out of curiosity..... nothing happened. Eyebrows knitting together, he tilted his head at the unmoving aura and decided to leave it alone.
A confused noise from his Axew peaked his attention, and when he turned around, the rock had moved... just a bit. Shrugging, he tried to ignore the rock again, and continued walking back... it kept following him. Frowning, he turned to look at it once more before the Crustle just stood up and skittered back to it's original position, sitting down.
Deciding not to mess with anymore evolved pokemon, Hunter continued his way back into town and just decided to try again another day.
