Maybe I arrived a bit too early? Tapping a few of the holographic keys on her mix of watch and phone to bring up the time, as the seconds ticked by in front of her eyes, Sophie Sequoia felt a little bit anxious as she waited for her guest to arrive. Usually the type who tended to be fashionable with her timekeeping, the blue eyed woman had felt it showed a little bit more professionalism to pre-empt her guest and had arrived early in a car that Mason had booked for her. Yet, a mix of boredom and nervousness kept her feeling restless.
The famed Michiru Morgause … Glancing toward the door and then window of the charming little eatery in which she waited, Sophie gave a short sigh before turning back around on the stool she was sitting, hoping that a sip of her cappuccino might calm her down a little. Lifting the warm and frothy creation in front of her and taking some of that bittersweet liquid into her lips, with a soft tap the girl returned her cup to its saucer and scrolled through translucent screens that her device could offer her as she looked at the details of Veria’s Fossil expert.
It’s actually kind of surprising that we never crossed paths when I was with the League as well? Though I didn’t do all that much in Liggs at the time… Scrolling through the dossier that Arcadia had put together on the woman she expected to meet, though there were details of various achievements and the odd personal detail alongside a few choice photographs, for the most part Miss Sequoia struggled to take these details in. Her mind a mess that had been wrought by apprehension, the young woman felt a little bit nervy at the task that she had taken up.
She seems pretty welcoming of visiting trainers, so that doesn’t seem to imply she’ll be difficult to deal with… Asked to liaise with this admittedly pretty woman from the photographs in her file about the prospect of collaboration between the organization she represented and this promising palaeontologist, it was perhaps the weight of the event that weighed most heavily on the woman who waited. This lunch the first big ‘meeting’ between her research department and a prominent member of the Pokémon community, if it went badly it would no doubt reflect poorly on the institute, and Miss Sequoia felt a little bit pressured because of this. Wanting to set a precedent filled with promise, there seemed to be some weighty expectation riding on Sophie’s shoulders, not least of all her own…
