Wandering down the coastline that separated New Pahala from Old Pahala, Orion hummed softly to himself. All the craze over Slakoth dropping from the sky and his own experiences with it had both amused him and also kicked him back into training and catching. He had a conscious mission to catch every single Water Type he could get his hands on, and what better place to start than out a little way from 'home' right up next to the water, heh? Yeah, exactly, heh.
Flopping along in the water, a Tympole seemed to be enjoying herself. They had been training and battling a lot together recently, but it was fun to just go out and hop around like this every once in a while too, eheheheh. "Having fun?" Orion called. The Tympole stopped splashing for a moment and flashed a grin. Yep! Orion nodded softly. "Good good." Walking over to the water, he briefly pat her head and eased up again.

As Orion walked and the Tympole at his side shifted along, the waves moved in and out. The tide would come in later in the day and fill the area with more marine life. In the meantime, the residuals of the area remained flung about. Occasionally, something would catch Orion's eye, but it wasn't until he was stepping over something that suddenly popped out of the ground that he registered what was happening.
Hmph??? A- wait a second, that was one of the ones he was looking for. Orion preened, calling over his Tympole- before more of them came popping up. W-wait what. Who what. As the ground moved again, a more Shellder came up from the ground to stare at the strange human in their wake. A Slakoth too would sit up from the sand. Orion looked around vaguely dazed by their sheer numbers only to snap to attention as they uttered a challenge to him.
A small, weird laugh escaped from Orion. Alright, alright? Sure, why not. "Boom," he called. "Start a Round." And with that, he was fishing out other Pokeballs. Two Poliwag burst forth, ready to go to work now that they weren't so new to this game. As Double Slap and Wake Up Slap were ordered, they were quick to go to work on their opponents. Several Mud Bombs were ordered in as well. The Shellder all seemed to collapse pretty easily, not being evolved and also rather passive Pokemon except in certain circumstances. The others still took damage, but it was considerably less than it could have been.
And yet it seemed that there was still Pokemon coming, and that in itself was enough to have Orion digging in his pocket for another Pokeball. A Tirtouga was released and given orders to start Rollout and weaken them slowly, and by then things started to turn around again. The Slakoth actually did quite a bit of unexpected damage with a Play Rough that decimated the Tirtouga for a few seconds. However, the number of powerful and fast Rolls was enough to eventually do him and a Shellder in.
Orion exhaled as the battle(s) came to a close. He was getting better and better at these multi-horde battles. He… should really try and do some actual double battles sometime, perhaps. Fishing out two Pokeballs, he'd catch two of the Shellder. Looking sideways at the Slakoth that had somehow mabaged to do so much damage to his Tirtouga, he tossed a Pokeball at that as well. There now.
1 point for Tympole 2 points for Poliwag 2 points for Poliwag 2 points for Tirtouga

With everything in order, Orion returned his Pokemon and started down the beach line again. That was one more Water Pokemon, at least. Perhaps he'd get lucky and come away with even more heh. Perhaps he was hoping to push his luck a bit too much. Mumbling to himself as he wandered down the beach, he would catch sight of a Slowpoke fishing. Turning her head, she smiled at him, and Orion smiled a little back.
Eh, why not? He supposed he could battle unless she clearly didn't want to. Releasing his Tirtouga again, he gave some explicit orders not to do much more unless the Slowpoke clearly wanted to battle. The Tirtouga nodded and then folded up quick to start a Rollout. The Slowpoke took the attack with a slow blink before forming a Yawn. It would not slow the Tirtouga yet, but he too yawned, and Orion found himself yawning yet again. Shoot, nope.
"Keep awake for as long as you can and keep Rollout going!" The Tirtouga could do that (or at least try to, he was sure). Crashing into the Slowpoke again, he was hit by a Water Gun that didn't faze too much. A couple more attacks, however, and the Slowpoke was worn out. "That's enough, thanks." He called. The Tirtouga relaxed again, and the Slowpoke went back to fishing. Not terrible.

Orion wandered along for a little while, taking rests where he and his Pokemon needed it, and occasionally seeing other Pokemon further off down the beach line. None of them really caught his interest, and thus Orion continued on. At least until something came flying at him. Orion caught it in the corner of his eye only seconds before it closed in, and a lunge to the ground was all that could save his head right then. Tch? The fuck? That was clearly a challenge, and he didn't really appreciate it. He'd punch the damn thing himself if he didn't need it to train.
Gritting his teeth, Orion released a Squirtle. "Aura Sphere," he snapped. The latter cringed a bit at the tone that was used but didn't have a good comeback. Disappearing into her shell for a moment, she formed the blaster and sent it crashing at the Staryu that was coming back again with a swift. The power of the moves might have been even, but the Type advantage had the Aura Sphere cutting through them very briefly.
"Good, now go in for a Skull Bash." Popping back out again, the Squirtle lowered her head, ready to take the damage that may have come right then. The Staryu would take the opportunity to form a Light Screen in defense, but it would not be enough. Lunging forwards right after, the Squirtle brushed passed the Light Screen and slammed into the Staryu. The latter went sailing back and struggled to get up again. Nope, it was just going to Harden for now. Orion smirked a little dryly. "Water Pulse," he ordered. The Squirtle's maw dropped open and shot a blast of water down at the Staryu. Unable to continue, the star stayed down.
Hm, he technically already had a Starmie that was already rather formidable. Orion shrugged his shoulders and called back his Squirtle for now. No need to keep that one even if it had seemed a little strange for reasons he wasn't totally aware of. The Squritle came forward smiling up at him. Orion smiled back and pat her head. "Good work, you'll do just fine." EEEEEEHEHEHE. The Squirtle squeaked pleased at that.

Orion had been about to return the Squirtle when a particular sound caught his ears. Hmmm? Where was that coming from? Yellow eyes bounded around here and there before finally settling on what appeared to be a Wimpod squished under yet another Slakoth. Arceus, they were everywhere weren't they? Orion's lips twitched as he debated what to do. Well, best free the Wimpod, he supposed. Tossing out a Pokeball again, he released the Squirtle once more.
"Aura Sphere the Slakoth off," he ordered. The Squirtle blinked at the situation before her before giving a small nod, retracting into her shell, and releasing the Fighting power like a cannon. It went flying, smashed into the head of the Slakoth, and effectively knocked him backwards off the Wimpod. The Slakoth himself was very briefly frustrated laying on the ground before forcing himself up and using a full force Counter in retribution. "Careful," Orion called. As the Fight attack came at them, Orion gave the final signal. "Skull Bash." Retracting into her shell for a turn, the Squirtle took the attack reasonably well before popping back out and smashing heads with the Slakoth. The latter tripped and fell backwards fainted.
The Wimpod, meanwhile, looked very… frustrated? He had been fine where he was and with who he was? That had been a friend? A battle cry was ushered out much to Orion and the Squirtle's confusion before a Struggle Bug smashed into the Squirtle. The latter yelped and whined in pain form the maneuver. A small 'tch' sound escaped from Orion. "Fine then, Water Pulse," he ordered. The Squirtle found this a bit hypocritical but had no room to really argue. Whipping up some water hoops, she sent them crashing at the Wimpod who rather quickly Wimped Out after that.

As the battle settled again, Orion returned the Squirtle for now and started back for now. His Pokemon needed a rest, and he could always swap out for others. As he got some new Pokemon to train, he headed out once again up the beach this time to a slightly different spot. In this way, he would come across a Pyukumuku and a Buizel seemingly playing by splashing each other in the water. Seeing the Innards Out hand reach out and splash the water was… a little bit unnerving, actually, even when he was aware that that was just part of its nature. "Want to play?" Orion called catching both of their attention. Grabbing two Pokeballs, Orion released an Oshawott and a Piplup. The Pyukumuku immediately Hardened while the Buizel sped up with an Agility. Or battle, whichever, apparently.
"Oshawott, don't get in too close, but use Razor Shell on the Pyukumuku," Orion called. "Piplup Mist and then Fury Attack." The Oshawott balanced backwards, grasping the 'sword' from his chest and then flinging it at his foe. The Piplup, meanwhile, weakened the increased stats and then went forward with a Fury. The Pykumuku squeaked and tried a Baton Pass, but unfortunately the Buizel who might have been passed to was admist battle as well. Doing her best to dodge the Fury Attack, the Buizel twisted around and slapped with an Aqua Tail. The Piplup yelped and grew more irritated than before. "Focus, Fury Attack again," Orion ordered. How was she supposed to be both focused and furious? The Piplup glared but did her best to hit at the Buizel again.
Orion, meanwhile, watched carefully, issuing orders where appropriate and sometimes giving them time to think for themselves. The Oshawott was wearing down the Pykumuku slowly, but that also meant that they would have to be careful during the Innards Out situation that often transpired. The Piplup, meanwhile, was able to get off a good Bubble Beam that tripped up the Buizel for a moment or two longer than expected. Good, good. They were doing alright. "Brine then jump out of the way!" Orion ordered. The Oshawott did just that managing to take out the Pykumuku without fainting in turn. The Piplup, meanwhile, managed to get in another good few hits even while taking some. With enough encouragement, however, she was able to finish win the battle.
