In the last few days, Orion had caught quite a few Pokemon, some to be traded off to others and some to be kept in his growing arsenal of Water types. Since the strange events including Slakoth and its evolutions dropping from the sky, he had also been kind of sort of out scouting them in a roundabout way, heh. Two birds with one stone? Basically, though. Wandering down the shoreline that was adjacent to both Old and New Pahala, Orion hummed a bit to himself, ruffling his hair slowly. He had a team that needed training up and ready for whatever happened to come their way, but as always, he'd keep them in their Pokeballs to rest before acting out on his own. Who knew? Maybe he'd find the last of his collection that day.
Notes for myself: 2 more catches before needing to fill the catch ticket

Coming up over a sandy bluff, Orion stopped short on seeing four Shellos swaying around in slow motion, their green hue a testament to their breed as a species. Well, that was about as much an ask and you shall receive moment as he was going to get now wasn't it? Even if it wasn't the exact Pokemon he was looking for, they would make good enough training fodder.
Fishing out two Pokeballs, he released an Oshawott and a Piplup. "Razor Shell and Whirlpool," he ordered directing the two of them. "Catch their interest and also trap them." The Oshawott called out, thrusting out his makeshift sword and then throwing in dramatically at the Shellos. It clipped one and then the other, the two looking irritated at the man and his Pokemon. Forming a Mud Bomb and a Body Slam, they individually attacked, one from far away and one getting in closer. "Avoid the Mud Bomb if you can and take the Body Slam before using Retaliate!" Orion called. Dramatically leaping to one side, the Oshawott managed to do just that. Taking the Body Slam, he grinned and then slammed back with a hard and fast Revenge that felled the first Shellos.
The Piplup was subtler, mumbling a little to herself as she whipped up a Whirlpool and sent it flying at two of them. It would, in fact, trap them in place and cause them to squirm and cry out. One of them used Harden while another was more willing to release a Hidden Power. Unfortunately, that Hidden Power would be electricity that shocked both of them instead. Orion smirked as he saw what happened and then gave some more quick orders. "Bubble Beam." Right, right. Opening her beak, she released a spew of power.
In a few more turns, the Oshawott had felled yet another Shellos, and the Piplup was able to go in for a Fury Attack to finish both the Shellos. Orion smirked a bit to himself. "Nice work both of you."

Heading down the beach again with no use for any more Shellos or Gastrodon, Orion allowed his Pokemon to follow after him. The Piplup and Oshawott probably would have been happier in their balls, but both were vaguely aware that Orion was also doing this in case of another challenger or set of challengers. It would make for easier orders if they were already out, after all. What they would find after a minute of walking, however, was yet a Crabrawler tooting along a Slakoth who seemed less than enthralled. Stopping for a moment to watch, Orion put a hand over his mouth, suppressing a laugh. What was… what was it doing?
Upon catching sight of the human and his Pokemon, the Crabrawler immediately turned around and shook a fist. You want to fight? He'd give you a fight. The Slakoth looked less than enthused but slowly sat up anyways. Orion's brow quirked, but as both his Pokemon jumped forward, he guessed it was decided. "Razor Shell and Bubble Beam," came the order. The Oshawott grinned tossing out the sword of sorts. The Slakoth winced and returned with a Flail slamming the prior across the beach way. Orion grimaced a little but was quick to keep up with the other battle as well. The Piplup had an easier time of things smashing the Crabrawler with some bubbles before going in for an unprompted Fury Attack.
As the Oshawott forced himself up again, he was given orders and rather quickly Retaliated against the Slakoth hitting hard enough to collapse the creature. The Piplup, meanwhile, was dodging a Close Combat at the last moment before issuing a Whirlpool to stick the Crawbrawler in place and bombard him with more attacks. Eventually he was unable to defend and came crashing down. Orion smirked. "Very nice," he mumbled.

He had been about to return them, Orion swore it, when both Pokemon seemed to burst into light. Growing taller, stronger, and roaring out their new names, the Oshawott and Piplup became Dewott and Prinplup respectively. Orion stared for a moment, eyes wide, smile wide. "Congrats, both of you," he grinned a bit, reaching down to pat each on the head.
"You worked really hard." He did as well, but that wasn't the point. The point, right then, was that he was gaining more and more powerful formed Pokemon, those that could handle their own in any battle whatever the situation. He was almost a little too proud right then, heh, but yeah. Almost. After a couple more praises, he would finally return them for now, giving them time to rest and recover while he walked a little further on, his eyes and ears still open.
And it was in this way that he came across a Binacle on the rocks, squinting at him as he came up. Orion's brow quirked before he smirked a bit to himself. Well, this was as good a Pokemon as ever to challenge and train. Fishing out a Pokeball, he released a Wartortle raring and ready to go. "Rain Dance," was the immediate order. The Wartortle raised a brow but did as was asked, summoning up a pulse of water that then fell down to the earth. The Binacle pair shifted around and tried to throw up a Sand Attack that was cleared a little too soon by the weather. Orion snorted a bit to himself. "Aqua Tail," was the next order. The Wartortle flung herself forward, summoning up Water power in her fluffy tail before spinning around and slapping the Binacle with it- sending them both flying.
Landing in the water, the Binacle struggled to get up, both clearly frustrated. A Shell Smash suddenly made them lighter as they went flying to Clamp down on the Squirtle. "Skull Bash," was the order that came. The Wartortle withdrew down into herself for a moment taking the clam rather well before popping out and smashing the Binacle again. Collapsing back, the Pokemon finally fainted. Orion stretched. "Not bad."

Orion had been about to return the Wartortle, to keep going on again, but just as he was reaching for the ball, a roar escaped from behind. Orion jolted, turning around to find a very pissed off Golisopod standing there. The Wartortle whimpered slightly before doing her best to straighten up. If he ordered her into battle, she would certainly fight. Orion, meanwhile, was coming to realize the semblance between this and an older scenario very much similar: a Golisopod with a Binacle friend. What were the odds? Clearly not as low as he was expecting them to be if this was the end result. A small snort, and he reached up to comb a few fingers through his hair. Well, well alright then.
"Wartortle," She was up and ready, throwing herself forward and trying to look as fierce as possible. "Skull Bash." The Wartortle lowered her head, waiting and ready. The Golisopod took the opportunity to come forward with a fierce Slash, smashing the shell of the tortoise as well as doing some other damage. With a bit higher defense than before, she withstood it before popping forward and slamming her head into the middle of the Golisopod. The latter yelped, tripping back for a few seconds before managing to catch himself.
Forming a Liquidation, he shot out the water in a flurry. "Water Pulse," came Orion's answer. A ring of water formed and shot forward cutting through the splay of liquidation and filling the air with a strange steam. "Aura Sphere," Orion called. The Wartortle gleamed, retracting into herself, turning around, and bursting with the power of Aura. The Golisopid hissed but took it well all the same. It seemed they were rather evenly matched for the moment.
A small 'tch' sound escaped from Orion. "You alright?" The Wartortle growled a little. Yeah, she would be fine, just frustrated. "Retract in and then Skull Bash again." The Wartortle flung herself forward, disappearing into her shell, only to pop out at the last moment and slam the Golisopod's head against her own. She reeled again, tripping back. Before she could run, however, Orion was fishing out and throwing forward a Pokeball.

As the Pokeball rang in capture, Orion exhaled. He wasn't entirely sure if he'd keep this Golisopod, but it wasn't like he didn't have duplicate Pokemon out the ass already. He vaguely felt bad for not having captured this Golispod's shoulder Binacle, but even as he turned up the bank, he didn't see it anymore. Well, third time's the charm, so if he happened to run into this very situation again, he would deem it divine intervention and capture both. Or maybe if he just happened to see a Binacle again from now on, heh.
Shaking his head, Orion fidgeted slightly as the ground underneath him began to move. W-what was- wait fuck- As the Sandygast and Palossand reared up from the sand, Orion became more than aware that he'd somehow run across a graveyard. Lovely. His poor Wartortle looked so worn out too. Stepping back, he returned her, and grabbed several Pokeballs. A Croconaw, Dewott, and Prinplup. "Guys, pay attention," was the quick orders that had them on their guard. Sure enough, the sandy grave Pokemon were rearing and ready to battle. Lovely. "Croconaw, Dragon Dance then Aqua Tail, Dewott, Swords Dance then Razor Shell, Prinplup whip up a Whirlpool and then Bubble Beam."
Strengthening himself with a Dragon Dance, the Croconaw became extremely fast and whipped forward, slamming an Aqua Tail into one Sandygast and then a Palossand. The first crumpled without being able to get off an attack. The second withstood the motion but was quick return with a Giga Drain stealing a good deal of strength from the croc in the process. A sharp noise escaped from the latter, and Orion's eyes flashed to him immediately. Shit. "Screech then Aqua Tail," was his only order. They couldn't strengthen him back up at this point. The Croconaw released an earsplitting scream that lowered the defenses of not just the Palossand but those around him before whipping forward with a hard Aqua Tail. Thankfully that was enough to down the Palossand- before another Aqua Tail downed a Sandygast nearby.
The Dewott, meanwhile, was doing not one but two Swords Dances before coming forward with a Razor Shell, downing a Palossand in one go and then a Sandygast. She was met with a hard Giga Drain as well but returned the gesture with a nasty Brine to the face before swiping with yet another Razor Shell. Yet another Palossand would meet the same fate with her relentless ways. Sure, she couldn't have touched them with a Revenge like she wanted to or even a Retaliate, but that didn't mean she culdn't decimate them all the same.
The Prinplup meanwhile filled the area with a Whirpool and then Bubble Beam taking out another Palossand- before a rather strange creature dropped right out of the sky and only her. She yelped, formed a Brick Break of her own accord, and smashed it into the Slakoth in turn. The creature fainted before knowing what hit her.
As the battle came to a close, however, a weak sigh escaped from Orion. That could have been nasty, heh. As much as he loathed the idea of having a literal sandy grave right there, he did fish up an Ultra Ball and toss it at one of the Palossand.
Croconaw - 3 points Dewott - 3 points Prinplup - 2 points *Note to myself 1 more catch and need a catch ticket

Orion had been about to return his Pokemon, he swore. However, the sharp noise from the Prinplup had him, the Oshawott, and the Croconaw all jolting at once. What? What was it? What was wrong? As the Prinplup pointed out the Krabby, however, there was a momentary sigh. Oh, yeah, no. That wasn't nearly as terrifying as the literal death traps that were coming up from the sand moments ago.
The Krabby, however, seemed rather irritated at being pointed to, however, and scuttled forward shaking a fist. The Prinplup huffed in response, raising a fin and forming a Metal Claw that was quickly cracked down upon the shelled Pokemon. The Krabby yelped in distress and seemed to foam at the mouth- oh wait nope that was a Bubble Beam hitting the Prinplup. The latter grimaced a little. Orion was… trying very hard not to laugh after so much stress leading up to that. "Just leave it alone," he encouraged. However, the Prinplup would not, and another Metal Claw would have the Krabby issuing out a Harden in response. The Prinplup leaned forward with a Drill Peck and had the creature scuttling away rather quickly. Looking back up again, the Prinplup offered a huff. Orion successfully calmed down enough only to roll his eyes. "You've made your point." The Prinplup squinted at the pun.
