To put it simply, she's been getting a lot of odd looks within Sinclair City ever since she came here, but she tried not to mind any of that. Where she found herself was the slums, exploring every bit of the city in hopes of finding some new pokemon to catch and utilize to combat the grass type gym leader here. However, she figured that it wasn't going to be so easy of course. This would be her first ever gym battle, and in many ways, she was a novice in the whole battling aspect of pokemon anyways. Sure her pokemon had worked with her to fight before, but this was the first time she would be fighting against an actual trainer. Maybe it would be wise to find another trainer and battle sometime? There were a number of thoughts running through her head, but while she thought, she looked around herself for any interesting assets she might want to add onto her team. There were pokemon everywhere in the world, and she was fascinated at what they might hold.
Would they be a new friend? Would they just be simple stepping stones so her own pokemon would get stronger? There were a number of interesting scenarios that could happen in the wide world. She as a wandering trainer had a lot of opportunity to change the world how she saw fit, and she was interested in the prospect of simply just going place to place, meeting new people, and living life to the fullest. So, let's see what kind of pokemon she'd be able to find in the Veria Region. That Gym Leader Mia showed her a while back how to catch properly, revealing to her a new Grass Type known as Bounsweet. It made sweet lemonade and worked pretty hard on the cardio. Her other pokemon that traveled with her were good and fine, but she chose to take her favored two today. The first was her Ekans, a close friend of hers, followed by her equally close friend Krabby. These two would be the ones to help her find something grand.
Walking through these slums, she saw a number of different pokemon of different sorts. Some of them she recognized, others, not so much. Perhaps if presented with the opportunity she would add one to her little gang. There was always room after all so long as she had a pokeball. "Now...come out, come out, wherever you are little friends!~" She was looking for any of them that stuck out, made themselves a little better known than sticking in the background. It would be rather nice to see all of her options before going for anything. She wasn't here to hunt, at least not anywhere in the city or slums. She didn't rock that way. However, she could head out into the wilderness sometime later and test her luck there. She was a survivor, and she was pretty good about how she did things. Besides, she had some cash to spend on a meal she was sure. Hopefully city food was as good as fresh food.

As she walked through the slums, she had never expected to see a Pancham. In fact, she would have imagined them to be pokemon that would be living in the wilderness as opposed to the dirtier ends of town. This particular Pancham appeared to be chilling with a set of gold and green tinted sunglasses. Looking at it funny, it proceeded to smirk with the leaf in its mouth and walk toward her, pointing with double fingers and an amazing grin before then holding it’s hand out. “Well then...nice to meet you. Though you’re not quite what I was looking for.” With a light grin, she shook its paw and it then nodded before then doubletaking. Wait...did she just say that it wasn’t good enough basically? That was messed up, very messed up in a number of ways, at least in his own opinion.
Stepping back, it fell into a Taekwondo stance, motioning to itself with a paw and blocking her path. “Really? Well...I’ll humor you.” Grasping one of the two pokeballs on her side, she pressed the button in the center. “Come on out Krabby.” The water type pokemon came forth, and with it, the young Dandy Laiver gave a bright grin. “Well then Pancham, show me what you’ve got.” With a fierce grin, perhaps meant to be a yell, it dashed forth, leaping into a somersault and rearing its right arm back for a Karate Chop. “Bubblebeam...then grab it with a claw and use Crabhammer.” In mid air, there was no way for the poor Pancham to respond to being shot with barrages of condensed water, making it flinch and also lose momentum as it wiped the water from its face.
Quickly did her Krabby move, grasping the Pancham around the right foot, and slamming it to the ground on its back. The Pancham gasped, and with that, it began to furiously shake its head no at the water type as it raised its claw. “Do it.” A rise in the air, and then the claw came crashing down onto the fighting type, a small explosion ringing out. The wind breezed through her dress, and with that, Pancham was vanquished due to poor tactics and underestimating her favored companion. Stepping away, Krabby returned to the orb, a battle well initiated. Wild Pokemon had less battle experience she realized than her own friend here, and so she went on looking for another pokemon through the slum wastes, something that was hopefully going to be catching her eye. The Pancham hadn’t, despite the cool attitude and the sunglasses, it just wasn’t for her. So, where was the next pokemon? Ball attached to her belt, she patrolled around, turning the corner and looking for more potential options. She wsan't exactly sure what she was looking for, but she usually had a special spark for things like that. Well, not that it was really that important anyways. So, Dandy breezed through, looking for something special, something that she could really get along with. If not, she could always get some more battle experience.

Salandit in terms of the gym in the city would be a wonderful addition as both fire and poison were wonderful type match ups against the grass type gym leader. So, as she was walking through and happened to see a Salandit sitting along a trash can staring along at them, she could see a pokemon like this living in the slums. Upon recognizing it, she quickly brought out her friend Krabby. While the poison type was effective against water types, if she was careful, she would be able to nail it and capture a Salandit to her side for the upcoming battles to come. Her friend looked upon the Salandit and immediately got a serious look on its face while the Salandit in return just gave a bit of a growl and stuck its tongue out as if daring it to try something.
“Krabby, use bubblebeam!” With that, a barrage of colorful bubbles were launched at the lizard pokemon, which on normal circumstance would be rather effective, but yet the salandit instead leaped, clinging to the side of the wall, and it opened its mouth. “Salandit!” A blueish blast had launched at the both of them, and with that, Krabby stepped in front utilizing the move protect. A green field had been created around it, utterly nullifying the attack. The smoke that rose allowed salandit to sneak, circling around. As the smoke cleared, Salandit now on the right flank suddenly released a blast of flame, the strongest fire type move it knew in order to pummel Krabby with a powerful attack. “Kra-!” It growled, but even through the flame, it released a bubble beam, without her command, striking the salandit head on, dealing significant damage for a trade off.
“Krabby! Oh dear...use Crabhammer!” Her close friend leaped, aiming to smack the Salandit straight on the head, only for the agile thing to step back, utilizing a dragon rage upon the claw, harming it far worse than the normal flame attack it used earlier. With a yell, Krabby looked rather hurt, but nonetheless had used the other claw, firing more bubbles upon the thing in anger. In a desperate hope to stop her friend from getting hurt, she tossed her pokeball with a spiral, straight at the Salandit. It was good...pretty good. She’d put it to use. So, the ball would collide with the creature in an attempt to capture the good Salandit. It would really help her out in battles to come. Assuming it was captured, she’d quickly rush forward, giving Krabby a headpat. She was tough, and brushing aside the damage, it smiled. Well, off the ball it went then.
She then left to look for other pokemon that could be interesting, something else that she could use. She still had plenty of pokeballs left. A firetype was nice, for now she could light a nice fire in the woods and not have to do it by hand. Walking through the streets of Sinclair, well, the poorer ones, she looked for anything else that could interest her. Something that would really make her say, “wow.” The slums were interesting what with the ample trash lying around, but she was having some high hopes. Anything? Anything else?

She approached the fallen pokeball, slowly lowering the captured Salandit orb onto her belt. Another satisfied addition was made, one she’d likely use in the quest to try out this mystical thing known as a gym battle. So, as she walked across the slums, she felt the need that a poison type and one fire type wasn’t going to be enough. Perhaps if she had some extra insurance, she’d be able to grow stronger as a result. The opportunity came in the form of a dog like creature, one she recognized pretty easily. It was a Houndour, and instantly her eyes widened. She had heard that every good hunter needed a good hunting dog, and Houndour seemed like the dog to fit the description. In addition, it was a fire and dark type. Not only would it add some advantage when fighting against the gym leader, but it also happened to give her the chance to have a new type in her team. Yes, she’d take it.
Her understanding was that the only ways to catch pokemon were through battling and capturing. Apparently pokemon loved to battle, and when they are defeated, they acknowledge their trainer most of the time as someone who can train them to become stronger than they were, and also take care of them. Salandit was hurt badly, so she figured she wouldn’t use it for this fight. Ekans might be better, but she didn’t want to poison the thing. That left Krabby, albeit the fact it was injured. It still had the type advantage. “Sorry Krabby, but I need you to fight for me one more time.” In a flash, the somewhat bruised crustacean revealed itself. “Krabby…?” Bending down, petting the precious friend, she pointed to the black dog who was currently rummaging through a trashcan with its snout. “I need you to fight one more time for me. I believe in you, and after this, I won’t call you anymore. I promise.”
There seemed to be a look of dismay in Krabby’s eyes, but it slowly nodded and stepped forward. Not quite aware it was being targeted, the Houndour slowly stuck its head out disappointed by the lack of food with an animesque sigh. However, in the next moment, Krabby leaped out, bashing the thing with a krabhammer, and watching the thing yelp in pain as it was smacked to the floor. “Before it gets up, use bubblebeam!” The Houndour’s eyes lit up as it cried with pain before aggressively clamping down on Krabby with a bite, making Krabby also yell in pain, proceeding to twirl the pup around in a circular motion. “Krabby! Use Metal Claw!” Using one of its other techniques, Krabby smashed it straight into the head of Houndour, knocking the female creature to the floor. “Hooooou!” Releasing Krabby, it fell to the floor, shooting an ember, burning the crab with the only long distance move it knew.
“Krabby!” It had endured pain, it knew pain, and it swallowed it for the sake of its trainer. Stepping back, it laid down, and the Houndour looked badly damaged. It was in all respects. “Go...Pokeball!” Throwing the orb, it would smack Houndour straight in the head as she’d attempt to capture the fiery puppy. She awaited for the beeping orb to cease moving, and if successful, she’d run over, not to the ball, but to her crustacean, her second pokemon, hugging it close. “You’ve endured a lot...and for that, you deserve a long rest and some extra goodies tonight. You’re the best Krabby.” She wouldn’t say something like that if Ekans were around, she might get jealous, but this was a nice addition. “Now rest...we’ll get to the center soon.” Taking Krabby into the containing ball, she head off with the Houndour ball, making now four on her belt. Now it was time to keep looking, but she’d make sure Ekans was the one getting the experience this time.
While wandering through the slums, she proceeded to look for other pokemon that might be interesting. So far she got a fire lizard and a fire pup. Those were excellent additions, but she didn’t need all of them a fiery personality. She ended up continuing her search in the broken down parts of the city for a new companion. She had room for two more, and after that, she’d call it quits. She could go to the pokemon center and get everyone medically treated as well as fed. That sounded like a mighty good plan.

A Pidove was a flying type, and that was what made it catch her eye as it stood sitting on a crate, seeming a bit absentminded at the moment. They were incredibly common, but she had heard of other hunters being able to utilize birds like these to send messages, and also spot out potential prey. Taking a deep breath, she held her second pokeball, spinning it lightly in her hands before throwing it outward. Out forth came her Ekans with a hiss. "Ekans!" Stepping next to her, she rubbed its head before smiling brightly. "Good morning. Sorry for bothering you, but we have some work to do. We'll be doing some fighting today. After all, it's been a long time since we've done any of that now hasn't it?" Ekans gave what knowledge it could to signify a grin, as it looked rather excited for the chance. She pointed at the Pidove that had now hopped off the crate and was sort of staring around, thinking about where it was going to go.
"Ekans?" It gave the sound like a question, as if she was serious about her wanting it to fight this Pidove. Slowly did Dandy nod her head, confirming that she was expecting a battle. Without much complaint after that, it simply waited for instruction from the trainer. "Use Mudbomb." There was a nod, and with that, it opened it's mouth, shooting three brown projectiles, slamming in the general direction of the Pidove. There was a rustle, before suddenly a figure took off shooting up into the air. With a shrill cry of "Pidove!" the creature looked down upon Ekans. With a sudden blur of speed, a fast projectile came down, slamming down on the snake pokemon. It was the move quick attack! With a cry of pain, Ekans found itself biting on the flying type's wing, trying to tackle the smaller pokemon down.
With a flap of its wings, Pidove desperately tried to escape while in pain, and Ekans looked deeply into the eyes of her opponent, glaring and using its intimidation. The Pidove widened its eyes in fear, believing it was going to be eaten, but instead began to sweat and writhe in pain as acid was spewed from Ekans mouth right into the open wound, combined with the bite to deliver a devastating pain. "That's enough Ekans! Let's not push it too far!" Pidove was unable to fight back due to being pinned down and it looked to be in pain. "Go! Pokeball!" Throwing the red and white orb, she smacked Pidove straight across the head with it, and with a red beam slapping it, the creature was forced to enter the ball, Ekans slowly slithering backwards to be by her side.
As the orb rocked back and forth, she stared upon it, awaiting capture. If she was indeed successful, she would put the fifth ball on her belt, proud at having captured so many pokemon today before heading off to continue her search through the slums for more. If not another potential companion, then a few battles for Ekans would be rather nice she imagined. Ekans hadn't really fought much of anything in a while, and Ekans was her first ever pokemon. It was time to spread those metaphorical wings she felt. There was o need to imprison Ekans at the moment in her ball. It was time to head on off, and although Ekans was lightly bruised, it seemed fine enough to follow along and look around for anything interesting. Ekans liked to battle, but it liked being with Dandy more. A beautiful day it was, but she felt that soon enough, she'd put a close to this little adventure.
