Horizons is officially CLOSED. The board will remain accessible as an archive, but staff has moved on. If you're looking for a new Pokemon RP, try Lucky Strike or any number of others.
Welcome to Veria!
Pokémon Horizons is an expansive RP driven by member-planned plots and regular site events more than any singular site-wide plot, meaning there is always something to do and always room for new ideas.
From classic Pokémon staples to simple slice-of-life to grandiose encounters with Legendary Pokémon, there's a little something for everyone. We've been open since December 2015 and are always eager to welcome new friends~
With the morning off from her judge duties, Mia had gone to some of the shadier parts of the underground in the hopes of buying some heavy duty fireworks, the kind you weren't really meant to have. She'd probably have to battle through a few Pokemon in the slums to get to the place she bought them from every year, but for sure she knew the fireworks would be safer than they sounded. They'd used them fromt he same guy every year, and never an accident...a few birds knocked out of the sky, but the kearneys were safe at least.
Walking around the slummy sections of her city, Mia was a little surprised to see the faint glow of an unshelled Minior, smirking as the little pokemon floated on by harmlessly and waving at it as she seemed to catch it's eye. The pokemon seemed pretty cheerful, and thankfully, didn't seem to have any desire to explode in her face like many Minior from last year. Ah well, maybe they were coming more peaceful this year. With a soft sigh and a chuckle, she shook her head and kept on moving, the fireworks seller wasn't too far from here last she checked.

Taking a break from her little walk, Mia had found a trashcan in one of the narrower alleyways and sat atop the relatively clean lid, kicking her heels up against the opposing wall and resting her hands behind her head, just stretching out her leg muscles and enjoying some peace and quiet in a usually rambunctious part of the city, yawning loudly as she scratched her head, wincing as she accidentally used her metal hand, digging in a little too much to be comfortable. "Ugh. Ow...gotta get used to that." Rolling her shoulders Mia closed her eyes and tried to get comfortable again.

Blasted out of her alleyway by a surprising jet of water, Mia spat out a mouthful of the stuff, a little dazed just from how caught off guard she was and working her way to her feet. The FUCK was that!? Glaring down the alleyway, a rather territorial looking Starmie was staring her down, and Mia herself was not in the mood at all now. Almost ripping the Pokeball from her arm, she tossed out her Chesnaught, Chezzers never too eager to fight, but with how soaked Mia was, and the fact the Starmie was already barrelling towards him, he felt he could make an exception.
Parrying the rapid spin with a strike of his spikey shield, Chezzers reached out and grasped the Edge of the Starmie, tossing it at a cave boulder from the underground's more natural remnants of it's cave setting. The Starmie embedded itself in the rock like a ninja star, Chezzers huffing hard through it's nose. Just barely got out and it was already being attacked? How rude!
"Dunno what that's doing so far away from water but...best catch it so it dosn't dry up eh?"

Mia cracked her neck to either side, continuing down the path with the new starmie caught between her hands. It was a little weird to see a water Pokemon so far from water, but hey, it was the Star festival, they tended to attract a few weird examples of Pokemon, and a Starmie was fitting for the weirdness of it all. Chezzers wasn't too happy to fight it so forwardly, but some wild Pokemon just couldn't be dealt with peacefully in the end. As Mia tossed him the ball he peered through the transparent lid, the starmie not looking all too happy...odds were they were going to sell it off with that pouty face.
Mia Kearney earned: A Lovely Geode! There are sparkling crystals inside, but what kind? (Turn into the Gem Trading thread to receive a random Gem.) A Very Unstable Stone! Said to have crashed to earth inside a meteorite, it seems to be trying to take the shape of a Mega Stone, but which it will become is anyone's guess. (Turn into the Gem Trading Thread to receive a random Stone.)
