Camarilla Snapitt
Cam | 23 | Female / Heterosexual |
Goldenrod | Citizen | Photographer /Journalist |
Appearance
Camarilla is 5'1 and roughly 110 lbs. She has long, orange hair that she pulls back into a half ponytail to keep it out of her eyes. Her green eyes often have a spark to them, openly displaying her natural curiosity of people, places, and things. She has a homely look, and modest proportions. Her body is toned due to her constant traveling.
For clothing, Camarilla likes to be trendy, but functional. Pants and capris are a must as her main mode of transportation is her Rhyhorn. She wears breathable button-up shirts, but adds vests and scarves to give her a more chic look. Due to her shorter than average stature, she chooses to wear heels despite their lack of practicality. When she travels to an area with more difficult terrain, she switches to her hiking boots.
Camarilla has a few accessories on her person, most notably the camera around her neck. On her head is a pair of pink sunglasses which are worn more as a fashion statement. She has a Clefairy watch on her left wrist that she set five minutes earlier than the actual time. She has a pink bag that holds all her necessary Pokemon and journalistic items.
Personality
Attentive: To be the best photographer and journalist she can be, having the ability to observe her surroundings, read people's moods, and spotting miniscule details is key. It was during her internship that this trait began to flourish.
Childish: Mentally, Camarilla hasn't done much growing. In a more positive way, she can be playful, and her views are idealistic. She believes that there is an obvious distinction between right and wrong, and that harming Pokemon for any reason is cruel despite possible gray areas. Her unflattering child-like trait is her bad habit of pouting when things don't go her way.
Compulsive: When she deems something worthy of investigation, Camarilla often rushes in to try and be the first to get the scoop. It has gotten her into a pickle many times.
Driven: Camarilla knows what her goals are and works hard to realize them.
Gossipy: Camarilla can be a bit of a gossip. Her desire to spread her knowledge can leak into the bad habit of spreading rumors before she has all of the information.
Nosy: Despite Camarilla's ability to read a situation, it doesn't always stop her from sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. Journalism is all about gathering information, but sometimes she tries to gather information that isn't any of her business.
Outgoing: Camarilla is more than happy to bother anyone and everyone. Some people are glad that she approaches them, others find her annoying.
Patient: Unlike with her desire to recklessly gather intel, when it comes to photography Camarilla is very patient. She can wait long stretches of time for the perfect shot and is very tolerant of fussy subjects.
History
Camarilla was born and raised in Goldenrod City. Her parents were in the entertainment business, specifically working for the Goldenrod Radio Tower. Both of them were very busy all day, so much so that little notice was paid to their rambunctious daughter. This lack of attention spurred Camarilla to become a journalist in hopes of gaining her parents approval, along with allowing her to work with them if she could net a job at the station as well.
She became a nosy child, running around town acting like a journalist. This got her in trouble a few times, even resulting in a beating from a disgruntled man for trying to pry too much. Dejected from this sudden violence towards her, Camarilla ran from the city, and found herself at the Pokemon Daycare. Seeing the bruised little girl, the old man running the establishment took her in to give her treatment. She told the kind man her story, and he gave her a pat on the head and motioned for her to follow. "Sounds to me like you need a partner." Curious, Camarilla tagged along. They reached a warm room filled with small eggs. The man gave her a smile. "These are all eggs that were left behind by those who used our services. I am sure one of these Pokemon would love to help you out, as long as you agree to help them in return." Camarilla pranced into the room, examining each egg as she passed. Most of them were splashed with color, or had interesting designs. However, the one that caught her eye, was a simple grey one. She lifted it from the bundle of blankets and gave it a gentle hug. "I bet you have the best secrets. It's always the plain ones that you've gotta watch out for. At least that's what mom said." The young child turned around and held out the egg. "May I take this one mister?" The old man gave a nod. "Yes you may. Take good care of it." Thanking the elderly man, Camarilla returned home with a new sense of vigor.
Thus began the adventures of Camarilla Snapitt and Ned Needlemeyer the Rhyhorn...or at least they thought of them as adventures. Really it was Camarilla continuing her snooping, just with a new rocky friend to help protect her. Unlike some of the children that left to start their Pokemon journeys, Camarilla was content staying, as she still hadn't gotten much of that parental approval she'd been striving for. When her general education had come to an end at age 13, Camarilla was allowed to intern at the radio tower. Working under her mother, which was heaven for her, the teen girl learned the ins and outs of the radio technology. This internship helped Camarilla grow, giving her greater focus and intuition to better gauge her situations with others. However that didn't stop her from Buizeling in where she didn't belong at times.
When it became clear that Camarilla was growing bored of the technological side of media, her internship switched over to her father, the radio personality, newscaster, and meteorologist. Knowing full well his daughter was not interested in climatology, he focused on the other side of his job. However, that didn't go well, as Camarilla had no charm, being far too blunt and nosy to speak with others on the radio. But her father wasn't a quitter, and he was able to convince one of the journalists to work with Camarilla. Ecstatic, the teen girl worked under the reporter, learning to keep her eyes and ears open, along with some basic survival skills for when they traveled to get a story. It was during this time that Camarilla met the rest of her current team. She saved a Sunkern from bullies while she was reporting on at the National Park. After busting a group performing illegal breeding for the Goldenrod Game Corner, Camarilla took in a baby Sandshrew that had only known the inside of a cold cage all its life. The last was a Pidgey that was trained to be a carrier Pokemon, but was rejected due to his rash nature and horrible sense of direction. She worked as the woman's apprentice for a few years, until there was little more she could be taught.
Camarilla wasn't quite sure what she wanted to do, but something in her heart told her there was something else she was yearning for. That was when she saw it. It was a simple documentary on Pokemon, but something stirred in Camarilla. She realized that she not only wanted to report on people, but Pokemon too. But how could she do that? Most Pokemon were incapable of speech, leaving little she could write about. She asked her parents. They suggested she take up photography. In the words of her mother, "Some say a picture says a thousand words." With a renewed sense of passion, Camarilla took lessons from the local newspaper's photographer. For a couple of years, Camarilla was taught the perfect way to capture people, places, and things. While she certainly wasn't a master of it, she got good enough to capture Pokemon moves in action. At age 23, there was nothing more the photographer could teach Camarilla. She had to go out and gain real experience now.
Thus she decided now was the time to begin her journey. She decided starting in a different region would give her more opportunities to meet people and Pokemon she'd never seen before, and chose the Veria Region. Before she left, Camarilla's parents gifted her a camera, one they claimed would always give her a good shot. Thanking them and giving them both a mighty hug, Camarilla set out on a ship with her partner Pokemon.

Skills (3/11)
Dexterity - Minor
A Dexterity Minor can probably hit a bullseye roughly half the time, get the basketball in the hoop frequently enough to have a good score, do fairly precise work like pruning a bonsai or sculpting small details onto clay with only average focus devoted to it, etc. A Dexterity Minor could pair with a Strength Major to allow someone wielding a sword to find the precise point to do the most damage.
For Camarilla, Dexterity represents her ability to hold her camera steady when taking pictures, as well as her accuracy with her pictures.
Agility - Minor
An Agility Minor can probably break dance to a beat and move all in between. They’re just light and fast enough to react to obstacles before others do, and can seemingly move at least their weight around alright. They can be rather flexible doing backbends and the like with relative ease.
For Camarilla specifically, Agility reflects her ability to spot a perfect shot and react fast enough to capture it. It also reflects her ability to twist herself in more uncomfortable positions to obtain that shot.
Endurance - Minor
An Endurance Minor can take some decent damage (deep cuts, minor breaks or fractures, or even some weaker Pokémon attacks) and force themselves to keep going forward. This can apply to ignoring pain during a battle or dealing with it after the end of the conflict. They may be able to push themselves for a mile on a broken leg or stay up for two days if they don’t feel particularly safe to sleep.
Camarilla's Endurance is most notable in her ability to hold a position for long periods of time to get the best picture. She also acquired a stronger Endurance during her apprenticeship under a traveling reporter, resulting in her ability to travel for long spurts in order to get to her next scoop.

Camarilla clicked her heel against the ship deck as she looked out at the distant port. "We're almost there boys! Are you excited?!" She turned to face her Pokemon, who all lifted an appendage in agreement. She pulled a pokeball from her bag and stroked it lovingly. "I bet you're even more excited than us, right Ned?" As per the rules of the ship, Camarilla had been forbidden from release her Rhyhorn outside of a small designated area. Even then, the locale was only meant for giving Pokemon a quick feeding before returning them straight to their balls. She gave a worried smile. Camarilla understood why the sailors wouldn't want a large rock-type stomping around the ship, but it seemed rather unfair that other trainers were allowed to let Pokemon like Gyarados swim around the ship. As one passed by in the water, it gave Camarilla a stink eye, which caused the young woman to flinch back.
Regaining her composure, she again addressed her Pokemon. "Alright boys! What's our mission? Aer Jordin!" She pointed to the Pidgey on the left. He let out a loud coo and began pecking the deck. "No Aer! We aren't traveling to fight. Jeez, this is why you were kicked out of the Pidgey Patrol." Disregarding the feisty Pidgey, Camarilla's finger aimed towards her Sunflora. "What say you Sonny Day?" The oddly grumpy-looking Sunflora shifted his leafy arms, giving a noncommittal shrug. The young woman pouted. "Come on Sonny, get some more enthusiasm." She motioned to her Sandshrew. "Dusty Bottoms, you know why we're here, right?" The creature waddled to Camarilla and got on his tiptoes. He reached into his trainer's bag and pulled out a pad of paper and a pen. He began scribbling on the page, mimicking the way he'd seen Camarilla write. She clapped her hands against her cheeks and squealed. "Oh Dusty, you are getting so good at that!" Honestly, the scribbles were exactly the same as before, but Camarilla was so proud that he'd learned that much. She pulled her Rhyhorn's pokeball close to her cheek and nuzzled it. "And Ned Needlemeyer, what about you?" She paused before answering herself. "That's right, traveling." Despite some getting the answer wrong, Camarilla gave each Pokemon a pat on the head. "We're on a quest to document people, Pokemon, places, and things. No secret is safe!" The young woman pumped her fist before turning to face the sea. She let her arms rest on the railing as the salty wind frazzled her hair. "What will our first adventure be?" She smile out at the coastline as her Pokemon gathered around her. "Veria, here we come."
