The Pokemon League. You didn’t grow up in Veria without hearing stories about this hallowed ground, a place where the best of the best Pokemon Trainers would come to prove their strength. The real seat of authority when it came to all of Veria’s Pokemon and their handling. The place that Gym Leaders and Professors alike proceeded from, with the mission to spread the love and knowledge of Pokemon training as far as possible. Of course, Asher was a long way from walking out of this building with a lab coat and a title. But maybe they had some informational pamphlets or something?
It was sunrise in Liggs City and it was already bustling, the Pokemon League plaza already starting to fill with tourists and League Challenge hopefuls. Schultz and Kälte gamboled around his ankles, chasing each other and looking around at the new sights. Asher sighed. Maybe this had been a waste of time. After all, Professors spent their time researching, not asking how or what to research. He needed to take the initiative somehow. Everything would be less stressful if he didn’t have to go to so many different places in the region...why couldn’t everything just be based in Caravella?
Quil?
Oh, no. Asher knew that sound - Schultz had seen or heard something that piqued his interest. Sure enough, as Asher looked down, the Cyndaquil started making his way into the small throng of people now occupying the plaza. Asher sighed, scooped up Kälte, and started chasing after his Pokemon.

Louise had begun her travel to Liggs recently, hoping to complete some official League business. Specifically she was just in the process of making sure that everything in her gym was up to the required standards. She was previously approached for the actual position, however now she needed to be brief on the requirements, how to receive challengers, etc. Upon her arrival in Liggs, she wasted no time before making her way to the League. It was quite the sunny day, so Louise carrying an elegant purple parasol with her. After all, the sun was never particularly kind to her skin, so she wanted to avoid possible damages. As she idly made her way through the street, she decided to let out her trusted partner, Moriarty the Bisharp. After all, he probably needed to stretch his legs a bit.
The duo eventually arrived at the Pokemon League, and noticed a crowd of people in the plaza. However, Louise felt something a little weird as she tried to figure out what was going on. She looked down to her leg and saw a Cyndaquil nipping on her shoe. She looked a little bit confused as she wondered how to deal with this, but remained completely calm. Using her other foot she calmed moved the little Pokemon away from her foot. "Hm... you're a decently rare pokemon... It's unlikely that you don't have a trainer," she said analytically as she looked around to see who could be the trainer of this pokemon. Not seeing any anyone around, she just kinda awkwardly picked it up and held it for a minute. Her arms were fully extended, keeping a solid amount of distance between herself and the pokemon. Moriarty looked a little bit annoyed at the Cyndaquil, but Louise said, "At ease Moriarty."

Kälte squirmed in his arms as Asher dashed from spot to spot, trying to figure out how he was gonna spot a small, dark blue Pokemon that didn’t want to be found in a crowd.
“Sorry, Kälte, I know it’s uncomfortable, but I don’t want you to wander off too!”
The Snover made an indignant sound and sulked back into his hoodie, but Asher didn’t have time to worry about her bruised ego. Just as he reached the center of the plaza, Asher spied someone holding a small, dark blue Pokemon - Schultz? As he made his way over, Asher confirmed it was indeed Schultz being held by a nicely-dressed girl. Slowing down, Asher raised a hand over his head in greeting.
“Uh, hi there! I think that might be my Cyndaquil you’ve got there.”
Schultz started to squirm in the girl’s arms, but Asher quickly closed the distance and took him from the girl’s arms. He looked down at his partner sternly, or as sternly as was possible for Asher.
“Hey! This is just like the Berry Grove all over again. Please don’t run where I can’t see you when we’re out like this.”
Schultz went to sulk with Kälte in the folds of Asher’s hoodie. Asher smiled weakly and turned to Schultz’s captor.
“Thanks for stopping him from getting lost. I appreciate any help I can get with these little ones.”

Louise then looked at this new individual, with her eyes thoroughly scanning each detail that she could about his figure and wardrobe. While her eyes definitely seemed devoid of any true emotion, it was apparent just how much she was inspecting him. Upon learning the truth of the Cyndaquil's origin, she quickly put it down, and allowed it to return to his owner. She eventually responded to his question by enigmatically saying, "Pokemon do not handle loneliness well. Especially smaller ones. It's unlikely he would be lost for particularly long." She remained perfectly stern in her wording, before turning her body to fully face this boy.
"You may call me Louise Dumas, I have recently taken up a position as the Dark-Type Gym Leader," she said before curtseying as a sign of respect. She wondered if her reputation had managed to make it all the way here to Liggs, especially considering she the nature of how she took the job. Once she finished with her formal introduction, she proceeded to turn her attention back to the League HQ. As she walked away, the Bisharp did not look too enthused with this new character. With an aggressive look on his face, he stepped towards Asher, though did not do much else. Noticing her partner's emotions, Louise spoke once more as she walked towards the building. She said, "And that is Moriarty. He does not do well with strangers, but he won't hurt you. Most likely," while she made her way to the entrance of the building.

Asher started as the Bisharp made an aggressive move towards him. Though it was immediately apparent that neither Trainer nor Pokemon meant him any harm, Asher wasn’t sure he felt welcomed to continue the conversation. Still, they were walking the same way, and the severe-looking girl was a new Gym Leader after all - maybe she could tell him more about getting involved with the Verian League? Her Bisharp, Moriarty, was a true specimen of a Pokemon, and surely not her only one. Asher could certainly see himself getting lots of good data about Pokemon and their battle tactics from a Gym Leader’s elite Pokemon. So he jogged a little and caught up with Louise, a slightly obsequious smile on his face as he introduced himself.
“Ah! So nice to meet an official representative of the League. If you don’t mind my asking, are you from around here or are you arriving from a different region?”
Asher made sure to keep a respectful distance between himself, the Gym Leader, and her Bisharp. As they entered under the massive entrance of the Pokemon League, Asher craned his neck to see up the rock face of Liggs that the building was set into. It felt like descending into the belly of some ancient beast….

Louise entered the League eventually, she closed her parasol, and returned Moriarty to his poke ball. It then became apparent that the blonde haired boy was following her. At least, it was apparent that they were going to the same destination. She turned her head back around to Asher, and once again inspected him. She had to wonder what sort of business a character like him would have with the Pokemon League. She wasn't too familiar with the people who frequented there, but she also didn't think that he would quite fit in.
She eventually responded to his question and said, "I am from Carrefor. I live in the Black Castle up on Carrefor Hill. I have never left the town prior to me taking on the position as a leader. My parents originated from Kalos prior to living here in Veria." Once she finished with her explanation, she turned her attention away from the boy once more. After all, she had business that needed to be taken care of. When she felt his presence still behind her, she couldn't help but turn around to actually talk to him. Peering straight into his soul, she bluntly said, "What business do you have with the Pokemon League?"
