Mia was definitely a little surprised by the positive reaction her music got. Mostly because anything could have been playing ranging from that ‘because I’m happy’ song or something from weird Al. She grabbed the other end of the ear-phones and slipped it into her ear, taking a moment to catch on to what had actually been playing from her arm and starting to bob her head along herself. This was a pretty good tune in her opinion, and something she liked to use for her gym whenever she felt she had a challenger who deserved it…would she get in trouble for that one day? Randomly playing music like ‘themes’ in her gym? Probably…she needed to get a lawyer on retainer one day with the amount of lines she tended to cross.
Eyes flicking back to Mai however, she lifted her head up from the music and snickered at her offer to dance. “Er…I…” She glanced to the bar, registering the amount of drinks she’d had…the mood she was in…ah ya know what. Fuck it. “Alright but fair warnin’, I ain’t much of a dancer.” She got up off out of her stool and pulled her arm across herself to better see the small interactive screen on her arm. “Hey chief whats your music player registered as?”
“You ain’t even gonna ask if you can play your shitty music bombshell?~”
The barman rolled his eyes and relayed the name of his wireless speakers, Mia hooking up the Bluetooth, and before long the tune was filling the bar, smirking at Mai and offering her hand with a cheeky smirk. “May I have this dance m’lady?~”
There really was Bluetooth in that thing! What an impressive piece of machinery. Mai almost wanted one, but the thought of losing a limb was a little too much. Still, if one was going to need to compensate for such a loss, Mia damn sure had the right idea of how to do it, didn't she!
The other patrons in the bar began to bob along to varying degrees, but Mai wasted no time accepting Mia's offer, practically swinging herself up out of her chair when she grasped her hand.
The music moved through her, and everything else ceased to exist. Even Mia was only barely there once she got into the zone, moving with sharp precision and practiced grace. More than a few heads wound up turning, but let them stare. She hadn't realized how much she needed this.
As the song finally began to fade, she grinned wildly at Mia.

Mia was hardly a practice dancer by any sense. She could ‘dance’ in the sense that a 2 year old could do math. They could put 2 and 2 together but more often than not they wouldn’t end up with 4. Her dancing style was energetic and lively, but it was like someone imitating what they thought dancing actually was. Now from Mia’s perspective this was more than fun, and in some ways she preferred it for herself, never having to look at it from the outside, and just recocgnizing that her body was moving in a way that was free, spunky, and most of all fun.
As the song came to an end though, her faintly foggy mind got a bit daring, tugging one of Mai’s wrists and pulling the woman into her other arm, like a more punky version of the twirl and dip, only this was more the yank and catch, smirking down at the woman with a cheeky glint in her eye and tint to her grin. “You ain’t a half bad dancer, for a chick from another dimension.~”
Luckily, Mai had already stopped dancing, or that yank might have hurt. As it was, she just let out a little "wup!" as she was tugged along, then chuckled as she found herself in Mia's arm. "Well, hello there~" she teased.
You aint a half bad dancer-- Excuse her? Mai was better than not half bad, thank you. Not that she was genuinely offended, more amused. "You're not so bad yourself, beautiful." She debated for just a moment, but then leaned up to quickly kiss Mia's cheek. Afterward, she rested back against the arm she'd been pulled into and gave her a wink.

Mia blinked a little as she heard the flirty words come out of Mai’s lips, smirking and letting her out of her arms just as she got that kiss on the cheek, which only caught her further off guard, her eyes widening further as that came as even more of a surprise, the brief moment of lowered guard being replaced by a cheeky smirk of her own as she nudged Mai, her mouth opening as words rested on the tip of her tongue, but rapidly realizing, as rough a patch as she was in with Ves right now…she was still with Ves…and any flirting words she had on her tongue ultimately resulted in teasing Mai about coming back to her place…
Mia went with the laziest form of cliché comedy there was, and gently nudged Mai, genuinely appalled at herself as she said out loud- “Insert flirty line here.~”
Mai waited longer than she expected for some sort of reaction. It looked like Mia was having trouble coming up with just what to say, like Mai could practically see the gears turning. Did that kiss break her? The famed womanizer? Surely not!
Then she finally spoke, and it took Mai a second to process that really just happened before she nearly doubled over laughing. She caught herself, but struggled to stagger from Mia to the bar to hold herself up. "SMOOTH." Gawd, what a huge dork. Not that Mai was complaining, but wow.
As she finally started to settle down, she signaled the bartender for another drink, then turned back to Mia. "Are you always this eloquent?"

Mia's cheeks were a deep red even in her tipsy state, helping Mai back to the bar by holding the back of her shirt so she didn't topple over herself, shooting her a pointed glare but mostly rolling her eyes at herself for even letting that get out of her mouth, sighing deeply and resting her hands in her pockets as she gave a hefty shrug.Mia held up a finger to signal for a refill herself before leaning on the bar, ruffling her own hair as she tried to think of a witty explanation. "Ah I dunno, when you spend close to a year dating a monogomous, classy lady, and almost half a year dating an ex noble from a backwards region with the energy of a sloth, I guess a girl can lose her witty charm.~"
Mai continued to snicker softly, but she was still listening. She couldn't really relate to losing one's charm just by being with someone a while, but she supposed she could imagine it. Getting into a habit of talking differently and out of practice flirting like one used to. Also, ex-noble, she said?? Well that had to have an interesting story behind it. Or maybe a surprisingly dull one, but a story, heh. Still, probably one for another time.
"Oh, lighten up, hon, I was teasing," she assured the younger girl. "Though I admit I'm surprised someone with that low energy could keep up with a girl like you. Unless that's part of the reason you're not fully monogamous yourself," she speculated. "Nothing wrong with that if so."

Mia was kinda teasing too, though only at herself. Still she scoffed a little at Mai's words and shook her head, loosening herself up as she leaned into the bar. "Don't be surprised. They barely do." She rolled her shoulders back as she pulled herself back, pulling her elbows up back behind her head to stretch. "No offense to 'em, but they...I dunno" Lowering her arms she took a moment to collect her thoughts before she continued. "Nik's a good person...took the time to show me a lot of things my head couldn't get around buuuut...still wasn't quite me. He's like...a nice warm bed at the end of the day, and I'm not a person who wants to stay in bed all day, everyday...that make sense?"
Mai listened carefully as Mia talked about her other partner, and nodded along at a few parts. The end, though, sounded all too familiar. "Absolutely," she agreed. "I used to feel like... I was a bird living in a gilded cage. It was beautiful, comfortable, well-provided for. As cages went, it was the best, but it was still a cage, and I was still a bird. I needed to get out and stretch my wings at least occasionally. Then I could come home happily."
She forced a brief smile, then sighed as she let it fall away. "He never did understand. But it's nice to find someone who does." Violet eyes moved up to meet equally violet as her smile returned.

Mia smirked just a little as Mai seemed to get where she was coming from. She had no idea if they were really on the same page. Afterall Mai's past seemed a lot more...intense, to say the least, but Mia wouldn't make a comment on that specifically. Plus the alcohol was REALLY starting to seep into her brain at this point so her head wasn't to clear to make any kind of comment to begin with. A fizzy burp flowing out of her rather rudely before she could muster any response. "'scuse me..." Clearing her chest with a few pats, she looked to Mai as she leaned on the bar. "I don't really know if either of my relationships are a cage but...heh...heheheheh..." Mia realized something and snickered into her flesh hand.
"Ah fuck why is it I'm attracted to like...the homely, relaxed ones? Like?" She stood back from the bar. "I'm a womanizing, trashy, fighty piece of shit and SOMEHOW its the classy, quiet, relaxed ones I don't deserve or like..." She gestured wildly trying to think of the word. "Don't compatibilize with that make me wanna actually be in a relationship!?" She snickered into both her hands as she realized she was romanitcally attracted solely to people who seemed to be quite the opposite of her. "Ah fuck....Look erm..." She looked around as if searching for something, then grabbed her metal bicep. "I need to be getting home...HEY!" She called over the bartender, twisted her arm, and pulled it off her stump in a way that clearly look like it stung from the poor execution, holding the golden appendage out.
"Keep an eye on this for me would ya? I'm lia...lida....liab....likely." Fuck Liable what even was that word. "To throw it at someone like this." The bartender complied like this wasn't the first time he'd been asked to store something of Mia's, though usually it was the keys to her bike not her fucking arm. Mia herself looked to Mai a little dazed. "You gonna shtay or...needs a walk back home?"
Mai had breathed a little hint of a laugh as Mia complained about attracting her opposites, and she would have commented on that, but Mia suddenly decided she needed to get home immediately and... Mia. What???
Mai blinked several times in disbelief, then moved over to the bartender. "Hoooow about..." She reached out for the arm. "I hold onto this and walk you home?" It was a crying shame. Mai was just starting to reconsider the idea of going home with Mia in a different sense, but if she was drunk enough she felt like she might throw her arm, there was no way Mai could take advantage of that. She could make sure she got home and in two close pieces though, heh. "I live in Caravella so I'll be heading to the train station afterward. Bit far for you to walk me, eh? So let's get you home first all right?"
