The wastelands are a dead section of land taken by the site wide event collectively known as "the life pillar". These lands exist outside of alterna and have one rule.
Evolved pokemon only.
Here, the area has become devoid of life, and so numerous powerful pokemon have moved in with an attempt to expand their own territory. Lakes and ponds filled with goldeen and peaceful poliwag now become the play pools of Gyrados and Swarming Wishi-washi. Large open fields once vibrant with wandering pokemon can be controlled by singular titans such as steelix or Tyrantrum.
No pokemon can be caught in the wastelands unless specified by a mission. Otherwise any mod spawned threads must be training spawns of the evolved variety.
VISUALLY, the Wasteland is what it always was. There is grass, trees, ponds...but everything is dead in a circle around the epicenter of the event. Pokemon can be found, limp and lifeless, laying down in the grass as though they were experiencing a deep, peaceful sleep. The grass is grey and turns to dust as it is stepped on, crunching underfoot, and trees can be snapped in half by a heavy breeze.
At the epicenter of the event, a white tree with an X carved upon it stands. This is the dormant form of Xerneas. Slowly life has been sprouting from this point, dead grass slowly replaced by flowers and lush bushes. However this is still a slow process.
(Note, to reach Xerneas, a mission must be performed. This does not need to be a legendary plot so long as you do not plan to wake xerneas in the same trip)
Have "fun" exploring these dead lands.
