Lucien really should have been practicing his contest routine. He had been doing so good and working so hard up until the actual festival started. After that, well, there was just too much to see and do to really practice! Even if he wasn’t doing anything specifically that night, he wanted to go out! Thus, there he was, walking around the town lazily again. He’d stop in on a few booths, walk into a few shops, grab a smoothie for himself and Alamea whom he’d release and sit down with.
Eventually his legs would walk him all the way over to the Planetarium, and just as easily, he’d start inside. Golden eyes immediately raised to the projections of the heavens above. The numerous shining shimmering stars described in spectacular detail pulled a bright smile onto his features. Yeah, he could definitely lay down here and stare up for a while. That sounded pretty great.
That was, at least, until a moving aura caught his attention. Lowering his gaze again, he caught sight of a pinkish white haired girl moving about. What captivated him about her was less her expressions and mannerisms but her aura. It was… really pretty and sat right in with the depictions of heaven above. Heh, ok, yeah that was a little dramatic but still. It was nice, and heh might as well make a few more friends at this celebration, right? “Ey,” he walked over waving a hand. “W’asup?”

Wow, this is amazing! Michi couldn't believe her eyes as she looked around the Planetarium. Honestly, she was beginning to get dizzy with how much she was spinning around but...there was just so much to see! Were there really that many stars and and...oh wow, the planets are so cool looking and...ok, maybe spinning was a bad idea. She couldn't help it though! Everything was just so new and exciting! Well, ok, maybe that was because almost everyone in here was having fun. Truth be told, it was...kind of hard to tell what she was feeling versus the crowd but...either way she was having a lot of fun!
She was having so much fun looking around and seeing everything in the Planetarium that hearing someone speak startled her. Jumping a little, Michi whirled around to see-...oh wow, he's tall. Red eyes blinked as she looked up at the man and smiled brightly. It...took a little while before she figured out he was talking to her, much less what he had actually said. Ok, no, no she couldn't figure out what he said at all. He had said hi, right? That was a start. "Uh...hi!"Michi replied cheerfully, smiling up at him,"I'm Michaela, what's your name?"she continued. Well, saying her name was a start, yes. Maybe he wouldn't notice that she hadn't understood what he said after the initial greeting...or at least, she hoped that would be the case.

As the girl whirled around to face him, Lucien grinned waving a hand. As she stared back at him for a moment, he kept his easy smile. “Sup?” he asked not sure if she had heard him or not the first time.
Either way, the girl would reply back after with a greeting. Huh, that accent was different, much more different than he’d ever heard before. Was she from around here or ? Nah he was pretty sure he’d gotten the Verian accent down pat. Maybe somewhere else? Definitely not Kalos or Alola. He put the thoughts away as she gave her name. Michaela was it? Cute. “Name’s Lucien, ya c’n call meh Luci ‘f ya want,” he replied warmly.
“Whatcha up to?” he asked again tilting his head to one side. He could tell she’d been spinning but- ? Just to spin or? Looking up, he watched the depictions of the galaxy move slowly Maybe it looked cooler that way or something?

The man's wave was mimicked...sort of. Well, at least Michi began to wave and then decided it would be silly and ended up tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. The restated question would be met with a rather...confused look as Michi tried to place the word. Sup? Is that some kind of soup or...did he want to eat something together...? Blinking slowly, she tried to think of what to reply to such a seemingly random question before he introduced himself. Oh! That's something she could understand. "Lucien? That's a cool name! I haven't heard that before," Michi replied happily.
She didn't know what it was about Lucien, but, he was warm, nice. Or at least that was the feeling she got from him. The offer to....wait, who was Luci? Michi couldn't understand him at all, nope. Did...everyone talk like this in Liggs? No...that lady hadn't so why? "I'm....not hungry? And...what's a watch? I-..." Michi stammered, muttering quietly. Well, this was embarrassing. Either way, Michi couldn't help but blush a little and rub the back of her neck sheepishly.
Right. Change the subject, maybe she can stop making such a complete fool of herself. "This place is pretty cool, huh? I haven't seen anything like it and the stars are so pretty and the constellations and planets and... Is Liggs always like this? Liggs is a funny name I think, but I can remember it that way,"Michi replied, spinning around as she described the place they were in. Giggling a little, Michi looked back up at Lucien. Ok, maybe she rambled a little too much but...well, this was just too much fun!

Confusion poured onto Michi’s features and into her aura. Lucien blinked a bit, grasping the emotion from her features and less so from her aura. Eh? had he said something wrong or? Eh, she seemed to be perking up pretty fast. “Realleh?” he asked as she professed not to have heard such a name before. Where was she from? Michaela sounded like a normalish name? Eh, who knew?
As she seemed to confuse his words and be unsure of them, it clicked in his head that Common might not be her first language. Phonetics in different languages were hard, after all. He had had the same problem when learning Alolan from Common. Thankfully he’d learned both Kalosian and Common at the same time growing up, or it could have made an even bigger mess of things, hahaha.
Coughing a little, Lucien offered a smile. “I said-“ he started but Michaela had started speaking, and he fell off again. Watching her talk about the Planetarium and spin with it, he felt warmth touch his cheeks. She’s cute…. Her stance, her smile, the way her aura twirled with her, all of it was cute. A small, sillier smile pulled onto his features. “Yer new to Veria, huh?” he asked much clearer than he had before.

As Michi stated that she liked his name, she grinned up at him and nodded, humming a bit when he asked if she hadn't heard his name before. She hadn't...or at least not that she could remember so it wasn't like she was lying per say, but...well, it was hard to explain it. But...oh, he was still waiting for an answer right but...judging by his expression, she had said something wrong. Well, ok, she was feeling silly soo...changing the subject back to the planetarium would be good, right?
Spinning as she gushed about the planetarium and how everything was just so new and cool and fun, Michi didn't quite see Lucien blush. What she did catch was the fact that she could actually understand him this time! Unable to hold back a small, delighted squeal, Michi stopped spinning and looked up at him, blinking briefly. "Is that what this place is called? I thought it was Liggs? No, I'm not from here but....I...can't remember where 'here' was before,"Michi explained, holding her head as it started to hurt. Ugh...why did her head hurt now...she was just trying to remember and...
It's ok, just breathe, a headache was nothing. After a moment, she shook her head, closing her eyes briefly before looking back at Lucien. "I...I can't remember. I woke up...there was a...a herd of deer creatures and a lot of other strange things...I-..."Michi began, wincing as her head seemed to pulse painfully in objection to trying to explain where 'there' had been. No, don't focus on that...she...came here to have fun, not to...to...whatever this was. Trying to remember was only making her feel lightheaded and...this was not good, not at all.
Swaying a bit unsteadily, she reached out for the first thing within reach to steady her...which happened to be Lucien. It took her a moment to realize what had happened, but after a bit, she looked up and giggled at him, "Thanks for catching me~"Michi chimed, smiling up at him as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

Lucien didn’t know what caused the squeal and couldn’t guess, but it was so light and genuine that he didn’t even know what to do with it? That small, silly expression on his features heightened.
What Michaela went on to say, however, was … concerning. “Uh…. The region’s called Veria… the city’s called Liggs,” he replied trying to figure out what to say about that last part. What did she mean she couldn’t remember where ‘here’ was before? As she heled her head, he frowned. Was… she some kind of amnesiac that had wandered away from a caretaker or something? The festival was pretty big, so maybe they had gotten separated or something? Scrambling, his brain tried to come up with any number of excuses that would make sense.
As she went on, however, it sort of got worse?? A herd of what now? Blonde eyebrows scrunched together as he watched her. As she swayed and reached out, he clasped her hand and wrapped another around her shoulders. “Ey, ey, easy,” he spoke quieter. The thanks that came after had him exhaling. “Don’t go banging your head or nothin’,” he chuckled slowly letting go again once he was sure she was stable.
Uncertainly pressed him, and he wanted to ask more but… “Ya like the stars I take it?” he asked raising his gaze up again. Yeah, there we go.

Seeing Lucien smile up at her only made Michi giggle more. He was....so cute when he smiled or, was it handsome? Whatever it was, she really liked seeing him smile like that. It was warm and at the same time, really bright and welcoming and made her just, really happy to see it. Even if she did feel just a little silly for squealing the way she had...but it wasn't really something she could help. Oh well~.
At the explanation that followed, Michi's mouth opened in a silent 'O'. That made more sense, nobody had told her that was where she was now. In fact...if the conductor hadn't told her what was going on, she might still be wandering through town. However, trying to answer his question of sorts about where she was from proved to be more difficult than she had initially thought it would be. Her head ached and she felt....very dizzy. It was only thanks to Lucien that she was stopped from falling over completely.
His quiet voice was reassuring...it reminded her of something, something she had forgotten. What had she forgotten? It was...important, but...why couldn't she remember? Before Michi could try to remember, Lucien's statement broke through her thoughts. A small giggle escaped her as she grinned up at him. "Don't worry about me, I'm fine~. Besides, you'd catch me before I did hmmm?"Michi giggled, teasing him a little before standing up fully.
She could....tell he was worried, it made her chest ache with just how much concern she felt from him. Hopefully her reassurance would be enough for now. Michi almost thought that he would press further but when the subject of stars came up again, her eyes grew and sparkled with delight. "Yes! I love the stars, and this place is amazing! I haven't seen so many stars before! How did they get it inside? Is it...ummm....magic?"Michi chimed happily, looking up at the sky again, slowly circling as she looked up at the stars that filled the sky above them.

Michaela’s giggle made Lucien grin. The words that followed however, had golden eyes blinking several times. She was fine? But— what came after had a smoother smile coming to his feaetures. “ ‘Course, I catch all falling angels,” he mused. She’d opened the door to that one, and he just couldn’t help it. Still, some of what she said really did stir things in the back of his mind that he wasn’t about to let go just yet.
As they switched gears a little, though, she managed to baffle him again. A small, silly laugh broke from his lips, and he shook his head. “Nah ‘s called ah Planetarium, der not real stars,” he mused slipping into a weird middle between his full blown botched wording and something smoother and easier to understand. “No magic ‘nvolved just science.” Well, Pokemon themselves were a sort of magic, and a lot of the science there seemed to be based on Pokemon research— but yeah.

Though she could still tell Lucien was worried about her, Michi really did try her best to reassure him. The comment about catching her and even referring to her as an angel was unexpected to say the least. A rosy blush bloomed on her features as she struggled to come up with something to say. Sure, she might have walked right into that...but...well, Michi had no idea what to say to that, at least until the subject was changed.
Her next question made Lucien...laugh? Huh? Had she said something wrong? It wasn't a funny question...but...the stars looked so real. How could they be fake? Or-....science? They were made by science? That at least....sounded familiar but...well, that didn't explain how they looked so real. "Science, huh? I guess that makes sense.... But how does this Mr. Science make the stars look so real if they aren't real," Michi asked, still looking up at the stars before smiling up at him again.
It was clear from her earnest expression that she was serious about the question. Science was so foreign to her and well...ok, it did sound familiar but if she thought about it too hard she would just make her head hurt again. And...Michi really didn't want Lucien to worry about her again, not if it would make her chest hurt again like before.

As Michaela asked how the stars could look so real, Lucien blinked. Her tone was so… real, so strong. She was legitimately asking him, and he really didn’t have the answers. Golden eyes raised up to the screen above reflecting the bright constellations that shined down. “Technology?” he ask-stated back. That was the broad answer, wasn’t it? Technology was what filled the screens, brought forth the images, and made everything look so real. That wasn’t an explanation though.
Lucien was far from an astronomer and even farther from a scientist or a techie. He knew screens existed and could be used, but exactly how they worked was well??? Something beyond his understanding at the moment. Shaking his head some, Lucien let his gaze drop again. “Dunno, electricity ‘n light ‘n something like that,” Lhe replied looking a bit sheepishly. “There ‘re tekies ‘n stuff fer that.” he grinned a bit after. “It’s jus’ a big computer is all. Still pretty cool though.”

As Michi waited eagerly for the answer about Mr. Science and how he had somehow gotten the stars on the ceiling, she couldn't help but giggle a little. This was fun, wasn't it? Lucien was nice and he didn't look at her strange like some of the other people she'd met. It wasn't that odd that she didn't know a lot about this world. Everything was so new and strange to her that she sometimes didn't even know where to begin. The last thing she could remember she woke up in a forest surrounded by strange creatures. There was something else she was forgetting, something important, but...that would come in time, wouldn't it? She had to believe it would.
Unfortunately, the explanation Lucien gave was...ok, it wasn't helpful at all. She had no idea what this 'technology' was after all and his follow up with electricity and light? Well, she knew what light was but...'tekies'? Computers? What were all of those things? Red eyes blinked slowly as a rather blank expression appeared on Michi's features. Whatever Lucien had just said had clearly gone right over her head. Why was Veria so complicated...had she really forgotten everything? Ugh...her head was hurting again... Holding a hand to her head, Michi waited until the pain passed before looking back up at Lucien. How was she going to explain this?
"I...sorry, but I don't know anything about those things,"Michi explained, sheepishly rubbing the back of her neck,"I mean, I know what light is but...t-...techynawlogee and eelectreeseetee? she continued, trying her best to pronounce the foreign words and failing miserably. Maybe she seemed foolish, but...how else could she explain why she didn't know something that seemed like common knowledge? It was concerning, especially when it seemed every time she tried remembering something about before, her head started to hurt. What happened to her? Was there a reason she woke up in the forest?
"Don't worry about explaining if you don't know though, it's alright,"Michi chimed, smiling up at Lucien, "Hey! Why don't we check out the...the...you called it a Planetarium? There's so much to see in here, it'd be a lot of fun!"she continued cheerfully. Perhaps it was a desperate change of subject, but it was at least something they could both learn and discover together. They could have fun this way and wasn't that what this festival was all about?

The confusion in Michaela’s aura was amplified in her eyes. The blank expression she wore only amplified this. On recognizing it, Lucien blinked just as slowly back. She....?? Didn’t get it? Didn’t know what technology was or computers or? How ? They were everywhere now a days. He’d heard the word used in Common across three different languages. How did she not get what he was saying?
As the girl reached up to her head again, Lucien frowned. “Ya…. Ya ok?” he asked a bit uncertainly. This was… getting weirder by the second. The more he thought about it the more uncertain he was? Uh? Her apology had him frowning a bit more. As she used the words, however, he once more came back to the possibility this was just a language thing— but then ?? If it was just that she wouldn’t be surprised by the tech would she? Where was she from? Ugh his head was hurting.
And suddenly she was happy again chiming that it was ok if he couldn’t explain. Lucien blinked slowly. Her disposition and aura were so … weird? The way she flipped from confusion to peace and back again? And back again again? “Uh… sure, let’s go that way?” he asked making a directional point towards one of the far walls that was backlit with numerous pictures and writings.

This...this wasn't good. Michi could feel Lucien's concern and confusion and it...it hurt far worse than the headaches. How could she explain what she didn't know? At this point, Michi didn't know if what she was feeling stemmed from Lucien or if it was really what she was feeling. Her chest hurt and the question she heard from Lucien didn't really help matters. No, I'm not ok. But...she couldn't tell Lucien that, this was supposed to be a fun day and he-... he was worried about her.
After explaining as much as she could about why she didn't understand him, it was clear that she had said something wrong. He didn't understand, she could see that, she could feel that. And yet...no, this was supposed to be fun. The smile that appeared on her features was genuine, she really did want to have fun and explore this place. The moment that Lucien said where he wanted to go, Michi gladly took the lifeline. This would make everything better. It had to.
Taking Lucien's hand, she beamed up at him, "Let's go then!"Michi chimed, already headed to the wall with the pictures. Once they got to the wall, Michi's eyes grew wide at the pictures and even started to read some of the writings out loud. There was a child-like awe in her voice as she read, as if she couldn't believe things like this really existed. "This is so cool! All these comets and planets..."Michi exclaimed excitedly, already pulling Lucien to the next display. She wanted to see everything!

A soft, very soft, hand clasped his, and before Lucien realized it, he was being led over to the board set up. Looking up at the large scale drawings of their solar system and the numerous names and shapes of the constellations, he slowly smiled. As Michaela read out the various descriptions that went along with it, he absently thumbed over her hand. As she expressed her interest and intrigue, he grinned. “ ‘S great ain’t it?” he asked very briefly.
Before he realized it, Lucien was being tugged over to the next display, a large mobile with numerous things attached. Someone had turned it on leaving it to spin about slowly. Golden eyes followed the motion of one of the planets carefully. “ ‘S like tha universe’s dancin’ ain’t it?” he asked looking back to Michaela. If nothing else, she knew what a dance was, right? Who didn’t know what a dance was?
