The new Pokemon Honoka recently got, the Minior, wasn't apparently the only Pokemon in abundance right now. Maybe it was the time of year, maybe it was a lunar cycle thing, she didn't know. Whatever it was, there were certain Pokemon all but swarming Liggs area right now, and they just happened to correspond with the Star Festival going on. She wasn't festival-ed out yet, but she wanted to see what all the fuss was about. She was admittedly pretty excited about the whole thing. Maybe she would get more star and space friends for those she already had. She was a fair ways outside the city now, but the lights and music from the festival could still be heard and seen. It was surreal almost, and very pretty. She stood there a moment, just watching the lights. The rest of the city's lights had been dimmed, and with them was a sky full of bright stars and a full moon. The whole sky seemed to be shining brighter than normal, and she couldn't help but wonder if that was a part of whatever was going on too or not. [ WORDS 201 | MUSE Ark Survival Evolved ]

While he’d finally managed to get his overworked ass out of the Skydome and actually go attend the Star Festival, he was rather…itching to do something else before joining the other people who were crowding and milling around the booths.
Knowing that tonight was going to be slow, he’d decided to fly to one of his favorite vantage points outside of the city to spend some alone time.
What he was not expecting, of course, that there would be someone else already there—and it wasn’t the person he was waiting for!
The shadow of a Noivern would then loom overhead, before circling down and coming in for a landing. Damian would leap the last few feet off from Fenrir’s back and quickly recalled the Flying/Dragon-type back into its Pokéball before looking around—and seeing that he wasn’t alone this evening!
“Oh?” he began, more to himself as he tilted his head to one side out of curiosity, slowly, hesitatingly approaching the other figure who was here, just admiring the view. “Pretty nice out, don’t you think?” he remarked, pointing up to the night sky overhead.

Honoka had noticed momentarily the shadow that passed overhead and the beat of wings. She wasn't entirely surprised other people would be out, but it was a little surprising that someone else was here at this point of the festival. Most people would be fully engrossed in the festivities and food below, but, she supposed, there would always be those who craved peace, or trainers taking advantage of this odd swarming of certain Pokemon. What she didn't expect was to be approached by the trainer, or whatever they were. Sure, trainers were generally friendly to one another, always looking for battles or companions. But often times they didn't approach others, too, choosing to keep to themselves. It was a kind of guessing game, trying to figure out which trainer was which type. She didn't mind either kind, having made a number of friends by random trainers approaching her, or vice versa. She glanced over, giving him a friendly grin as the Noivern holder approached. She nodded in response to his question. "It really is. You can't get a view like this in Alterna, not often anyway." She tilted her head up toward the sky, drinking in the stars, both stationary and falling across the sky. If she didn't know better, he could have sworn some of those shooting stars looked awfully close and an awfully lot like Pokemon. Somehow, though, if they were, she couldn't say she'd be too terribly surprised. After a short moment of what felt like shy but surprisingly companionable silence, she turned back to the other trainer with the soft, welcoming smile. She couldn't see him terribly well in the dark, even with the sky and lights of Liggs illuminating everything. It was unnaturally bright for the time of night thanks to these, but it was still fairly dark. This night made a certain trainer she'd met somewhat recently who was not so fond of the dark. What she could see of the other trainer before her told her a few things. He was considerably taller than her; she had to tilt her head up to look him in the face. He had somewhat messy hair that kind of glowed under the starlight, making her wonder if it was a sort of platinum blonde. He looked friendly enough, if kind of tired. He looked like he worked a lot, that's what that look was. She'd seen it in the mirror enough times to recognize it. "What brings you out here, instead of being down at the festival? I mean, it's pretty full right now, but I don't expect that will die down at all until the festival is over."[ WORDS 460 | MUSE SONG BY ARTIST ]

“Well, they do say that if you want to go stargazing, the best place to do it is up here in Liggs…” he trailed off with an embarrassed grin, rubbing the back of his neck while he was at it, before winding a part of his scarf around his hands (because he was rather fidgety at that moment). As for her other question?
“This spot right here is one of my favorite haunts. When things get stressful in the city and I want to unwind, I usually come out here to just relax,” he answered, rubbing his eyes ever so slightly. While he was waiting for Amon to show up, yes, he knew that he still had enough time to himself before he did arrive—and he’d know if he got another message. Or two. Or several, he really didn’t know.
He wasn’t exactly expecting the silence to be shattered by the sound of rustling; and he quickly looked around, reaching deep into his pocket and pulling out a couple of shrunken-down Pokéballs and getting them ready just in case they were attacked by Arceus-knew-what!

"Do they? I don't get to Liggs very often outside of business, so sightseeing isn't something I've done much here." She replied, glancing at the silver haired trainer again. He was fiddling with his scarf, making it obscure the bottom quarter of his face. He seemed a little shy. It was kind of cute, if Honoka was being honest with herself. She wondered what he did that got so stressful, but she found she wasn't given the opportunity to ask as the bushes began rustling beside them. Of course the lovely star gazing would be interrupted by a Pokemon. Honoka pulled out a Pokeball of her own, noticing her new companion also pulled out a few, though they were awfully small for Pokeballs. She wondered if they were custom made. She knew a few people would get custom balls and such, but they were often pricey, so not many people had them. She didn't as of yet, but she wanted to. She'd have to ask him later where he got his and see what their prices were like. In the meantime, her own Pokeball released a Larvesta that was ready to do whatever Honoka needed. It was then that the Pokemon in the bushes showed itself. Or rather, themselves. There was a Minior, one Honoka recognized, having already gotten one herself. This one was so strangely colored though, she didn't know what to make of it. And there was another Pokemon, one she also recognized as a Spinda. They were kind of cool in that no two Spinda had the same markings, but they'd never really interested her beyond that. She decided she'd take that one out first. Turning to the silver haired cutie, Honoka inclined her head at the Minior. "Want it? I've got one at home, and as far as I've seen, they're few and far between so far. Though there were apparently rumors of many people having one in the contest, so who knows." She turned to her Larvesta, then, to give an order. "Hak, let's start with a flame charge, go after the Spinda. I'll leave it to you to take it from there." Her Pokemon did so, charging the Spinda and hitting it full on, coated in flames. It turned around and shot what looked like a wave of heat at the still reeling Pokemon. After that, it rubbed its wings together, creating a sort of harsh sound that seemed to hurt the Spinda. Her Larvesta was barely giving the Spinda time to breathe, let alone retaliate. It tried to use what looked like Sucker Punch, but it was stopped cold when the Bug Buzz hit it. And that was it, it was out. Honoka chuckled as the bug type returned to her. "Nice job Hak, if a little overkill. Don't you think?" The Pokemon shrugged as best an insect could and buzzed against his trainer, pleased with itself. [ WORDS 501 | MUSE SONG BY ARTIST ]

Comically enough, while the Spinda had leaped out of the darkness and had attacked his companion, he wasn’t exactly expecting… a piece of the sky to literally fall down and hit him on the back of the head, hard!
“OUCH!” he shouted, quickly rubbing the spot that suddenly throbbed with a sharp pain, forcing him to look around, the better to see what the hell was going on.
The moment he caught sight of the Minior, though, and the way it was sparkling…
…it was like some kind of jackpot noise went off in his head. Although at the same time, his world was spinning quite a bit, and why were there a lot more stars than what he was accustomed to seeing flashing in his field of vision?! Instinctively, he raised his right hand and rubbed the spot where the Minior had hit him; where a lump was starting to form.
“That really hurt, you little shit,” he hissed, sending one of the shrunken marbles skywards, popping to full size before an Eevee emerged from its depths. It took him a few moments to realize that this may not have been a good idea, considering that Miniors were part-Rock… and this would take a good long bloody while.
“Well, crap,” he hissed, just as the black Minior (who then gave off a sparkle) suddenly summoned rocks from Arceus-knew-where and then fired off an Ancient Power attack at the Eevee! Wasn’t expecting to run into this problem, but… he thought, before pointing forward, “Dodge that! We have to swat it down to the ground!” he began as the rain of rocks began crashing around the Eevee.
Thankfully, his Eevee wasn’t loopy, and paid attention to his directions—and as the Minior flew lower, pelting the Eevee with stars—his own brown fox retaliated with a Swift of its own, the two attacks cancelling each other out in the process. Okay, one crisis averted, but how long will my luck hold out? He thought to himself, as the Minior then seemingly sparkled for a few moments, before picking up the Speed with Autotomize—and then whizzing forward with a Tackle attack!
“Swift, one more time! I know it’s not going to work, but we have to at least make a dent in it!” he continued, watching as his Eevee stood its ground and released another spray of star-shaped projectiles, meeting the incoming Minior head-on with its Tackle attack. “Alright, let’s soften the damage! Use your Charm on it!” he added, before wondering—would Charm work, even on these genderless space rocks?!
Either way, the Eevee backed off as the Tackle collided with the Swift—and while it did wince in pain, the brown fox then did its best to lure the Minior into lowering its guard, before he pointed forward. “Alright, now that it’s distracted, take a Bite out of it! In fact, take several Bites!” he continued, knowing that this was one of the few attacks that would actually put some damage into the black space rock’s defense.
As the Minior attempted to shake off the Charm it had fallen into, the Eevee took a running start before leaping into the air and taking a literal Bite at one of the space rock’s weird “nibs”, before hanging on as the Minior tried to shake its passenger off!
“Hang on tight! And keep up the pressure with your Bite attacks, don’t stop until it falls!” he added, digging around in his pockets and preparing one of his empty Pokéballs as the Eevee hung on tenaciously while the Minior tried to shake it off. Once it had spotted an opening, said fox leapt off—only to Bite down several more times across the jagged surface, before finally managing to bring it down!
As the weird space rock crashed to the ground, Damian flung the empty Pokéball at it and watched as it got sucked up into the beam of red light before falling to the dusty ground…

As mean as it may have seemed, Honoka couldn't help but bark out a laugh. She wasn't being mean, it was just so surprising, and the trainer's outburst so unexpected, she couldn't help but giggle. She'd left her Pokemon to fight the Spinda as she watched him pop a Pokeball with an Eevee in it. Maybe not the best combination, but it'd certainly be some good experience for the Eevee. The battle was just as amusing. The Eeevee was definitely determined, and it took it a bit of work to swat the thing out of the air. When it finally did, it Bit the Minior and wouldn't let go. Honoka couldn't help but giggle again at it. It looked so ridiculous, but hey, if it was effective, go with it! It took a bit for the Minior to faint, but faint it did. Honoka had covered her mouth and was giggling into her hand, trying to hold them back but unfortunately failing. She smiled apologetically as he captured the Minior. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh. Being attacked by a wild Pokemon is no fun, no matter how they go about doing it. Good catch, though."Her giggling would be interrupted, however, by another Minior flying at her head. She saw it coming and barely dodged, ducking forward as the dark shape whizzed by. If it had had blades, she would have lost a couple of inches of hair. Instead, it just hit her hair, knocking it round into her face. "Hey!" Just like the Eevee, though, her Charmander was less than effective against this Minior. Well, if an Eevee could do it, so could her Charmander. The Pokemon needed experience anyway, she thought, as she pulled out its Pokeball and released it. "Ok, lets start off with a flamethrower. This is going to take a while probably, but you're up for it, right?" She spoke to her Charmander, who nodded back, eager to please. The Charmander would shoot several flamethrower attacks at the Minior, which dodged 2 of the 4 attacks. It started its own attack, one Honoka recognized all too well. "Dodge that! Do not let that hit you!" Her Charmander started to move as the Power Gem built up, watching the Minior for where it was aiming. Luckily, it didn't have very good aim. All of the rocks from the attack missed, hitting behind her Charmander as it ran around the Pokemon. Her Charmander got frustrated and used Dragon Rage, a red aura emanating from the small orange Pokemon. It attacked again, charging at the Minior and snapping at it thrice with a pumped up Fire Fang, two of the bites hitting. It was doing damage, albeit slowly. Her Charmander shot a Dragon Rage attack at the Minior. The attack, of course, hit the Minior. It was looking pretty hurt now, and seemed like it was trying to run. It looked like it wanted to fire off another attack, but Honoka pulled out a Pokeball, not wanting to give it a chance. [ WORDS 521 | MUSE SONG BY ARTIST ]

Seeing that the Minior had been taken care of by his companion, he then turned his attention to the other ‘mon in front of him—and then realized that his Eevee needed a bit of a rest. “Alright, come back here, you did your part…” he said, recalling his Eevee in a flash of red light, before popping another marble to full-size and sending it skywards.
This time, a Swablu emerged from the flash of red light, floating into the air on the updrafts, before Damian whistled to get its attention. “Not up there! Down here!” he began, pointing at the Jigglypuff, who then puffed itself up before going on the offensive with a Body Slam attack!
“Just stay up in the air and get ready! Use your Agility, quickly! Make yourself harder to hit!” he continued, watching as the Swablu flew slightly higher, and out of reach as the round Pokémon ended up charging into the undergrowth, before emerging a few moments later, very much annoyed that it had missed its target. Not wanting to be outdone, the Jigglypuff then used Body Slam once more, to which Damian countered, “Hit it with a Steel Wing attack!”
The Swablu then zoomed in low; never mind if it had to tank the Body Slam hit, the moment it was sent back reeling, it then rushed forward and then smacked the Jigglypuff with its wings, which for some reason had become hard as steel. Seeing that the round ‘mon had been forced backwards due to the impact of the attack, he then realized that the Jigglypuff was part-Fairy—and that the Steel Wing move was rather deadly when it hit.
“Alright, brace yourself with a Cotton Guard, and prepare another Steel Wing as it comes in for another—“ he trailed off, watching as the angry, angry Jigglypuff turn around and charged forward with another attack; this time with a Pound attack! Thankfully the attack didn’t impact too much as the Cotton Guard took effect, raising the Swablu’s Defense stat—and right as it had taken the hit, another round of Steel Wing assaulted the Jigglypuff, making it cry out in surprise!
“Keep on your toes, it looks like it’s going to—“ he continued, watching as the Jigglypuff tried another tactic; this time using Gyro Ball in order to try and knock the Swablu out of thin air!
“Take the hit! And then use Mirror Move right as it hits you!” he added, watching as the Swablu let out a cry of pain as the Gyro Ball connected; before the Normal/Flying-type quickly imitated the Gyro Ball and sent the pink ‘mon backwards!
It took him a few moments to realize what typing the Gyro Ball move was, but there was no time to waste—he had to end the battle, and soon!
“Good job! Now, let’s use Steel Wing and knock it down! Keep it on the ropes!” he added, watching as the cloud-bird veered in close, boosted by the earlier Agility and then smacking it again with another Steel Wing, just as the Jigglypuff was right about to attack it with another Body Slam!
“Again! Steel Wing it and bring it down!” he continued, reaching into his pocket and popping an empty Great Ball ready, before getting ready to throw it as the Swablu attacked the Jigglypuff again with Steel Wing, before it finally collapsed!
Alright, now! He thought to himself, chucking the vacant Great Ball at the round ‘mon, watching as it got sucked into a flash of red light before clattering to the ground…

As the Great Ball dinged with a loud noise signifying that the Jigglypuff had given itself over to the containment unit, Damian was about to whoop out in celebration—when two more Minior came soaring in, clearly very agitated!
“Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me…” he groaned, slapping a palm to his forehead, eventually dragging it down his face. “When you don’t need them they’re there. But when you’re looking for them, they’re not. What the actual hell?” he added, before suddenly swinging himself into a defensive stance as one of the two Miniors came in a barrel-roll headed at him!
“Not today, you little space rock… definitely not today!” he continued, pointing forward and whistling to catch his Swablu’s attention, as it was just about ready to sail away on another updraft. “Mishka, get ready to bash that thing out of the sky with your Steel Wing attack! I don’t care how long it’ll take, just stay out of its way as much as you can, because that thing’s gonna wreck you!” he began, unwittingly giving his Swablu a rather fitting name as he did so.
The Swablu then did a sharp turn in mid-air, facing her master with a very curious look in her eyes, before chirping out of glee and turning back around in time to see the Minior headed her way in an aerial Rollout attack!
“Now!” he shouted, watching as the Minior tried to swat the Swablu out of the air; however, the Normal/Flying-type had countered the incoming space rock with a Steel Wing attack, attempting to swat it off-balance.
“Alright, that’s awesome! When it comes back around again, hit it with a Mirror Move this time! Give it a taste of its own medicine!” he continued, watching as the Minior then did an about-face and then barreled backwards towards the Swablu; locked in the Rollout attack. Just as the space rock made contact with the cloud-bird, the Swablu took the chance to smack it in another direction with a Mirror Move, imitating the aerial Rollout attack!
“Alright, Mishka, back off and use your Agility! And then raise your defense with Cotton Guard!” he added, as the Minior flew off in another direction; while his companion proceeded to raise her Speed via Agility; and then topping it with another Cotton Guard, boosting its Defense. There was something…rather dangerous in the air, because most of the Miniors that had apparently appeared so far had the tendency to…
“I don’t know about you, but you better get ready just in case your space rock decides to detonate itself too early,” he said to his companion, before turning his attention back at the Minior, who’d circled around for another attack. “Mishka! Steel Wing it again!” he continued, watching as the fluffed-up Swablu then turned to face the incoming Minior, preparing its wings for another hard impact against the Minior.
A loud smacking sound resonated around the area as the Swablu caught the incoming Minior on the rebound with another Steel Wing, before zipping out of the way as the Minior came to a stop… before it hovered in mid-air.
The intent became very clear as the Minior began to glow with an unnatural heat, before Damian all but screamed, “Mishka! Fly up! Use your Agility to fly up as high as you can! It’s about to—“ as the Minior then used a very powerful Explosion attack!
Not wasting any more time, the Swablu chirped before zipping skywards, boosting itself to fly even higher with Agility as the Minior literally exploded with the force of a bomb, very nearly knocking Damian off his feet. As the smoke and dust settled down, he began to wave his hands in front of his face, squinting through the haze.
“Mishka? Mishka?!” he shouted, rubbing his eyes a few times as they became watery due to the cloud of dust that had resulted from the Explosion attack.

The two of them had just captured the previous pair of Pokemon when ANOTHER set of Minior came bursting into the scene. And they were upset. What the heck was with all of the fallen stars that night? At the same time, though she laughed. "Well, at least there seems to be an abundance we can take advantage of, right?" She grinned at him in the dark, though one of the Miniors decided to use him as its target to release its anger. The other hovered around in small circles, agitated, as if deciding what to do. She put her Charmander back in its ball, her Larvesta ready to fight. It dove in front of Honoka as the Minior dove at her head, knocking it away with a Flame Charge. It didn't do much, but it did knock it out of the way, which was the goal. Her Larvesta paused a moment in front of her, readying another attack. It was enveloped in a flash of light first, and right before their eyes, evolved. "Well, that's a surprise. I didn't think you were that far along, Hak. Awesome!" The now Volcarona used Bug Buzz on the Minior, though it too didn't do much. He had to dodge a Swift attack immediately after launching his own, and two two attacks met one another in the air and fizzled out. Well, that was something that would make this tricky. The Minior seemed to be clever, and angry, and that could be a nasty combination. "Ok, Hak, we're just going to chip away at it. Leech Life, then Heat Wave." Both attacks launched successfully, the Leech Life attack hit and restored any damage Hak took making sure the Minior didn't beam his trainer in the head. The other attack threw a wave of scorching wind at the Minior, and while doing only a little, their plan was working, slowly but surely. The Minior, in the meantime, would throw off another attack, or rather, would look like it was getting ready for another attack. It glowed brightly, and seemed to dip a bit in the air. Did it just get lighter? "Do it again, both attacks!" she shouted, her Volcarona more than happy to oblige. Leech Life didn't add anything new to the Pokemon, but it still did its damage again. The Minior seemed to be biding its time, and in between the two attacks, it seemed to grow lighter again. What purpose did that have? She knew a few moves that could benefit from weight, though most of what she remembered at the time only used heavier weights, so what did getting lighter do, aside from being speedy? And then it hit her, thanks to the other trainer's comment. At the same time as the other one, just after the comment, the Minior Honoka was fighting also began to glow. "Oh shit. Hak, get out of there!" Her Volcarona, though slower, took the same cue as the Swablu and flew up, trying to get out of range of the incoming explosion. Why did these things always have to explode?! Honoka braced herself as both of them exploded, one right after another, barely a second apart. Her clothes rippled around her in the swirling air, dust and heat blowing at her as she tried to keep her footing but lost it. She, being lighter than her compatriot, was blown back, landing on her back, knees in the air. She coughed and blinked as she sat up, the dust still swirling and settling around them. "Hak," she called out. "Hak, you ok?"[ WORDS 614 | MUSE SONG BY ARTIST ]

“Damnit, Miskha! Where are you?!” he shouted as he continued to clear the resulting smoke from the first explosion.
He’d very nearly missed the second explosion had the other Minior not gone off, and this time threw his hands up to his face; the better to protect himself from incoming debris.
While the first explosion almost knocked him off his feet, the second one had actually forced him to take a few steps back to get out of the line of fire, almost blowing him backwards in the process! He then looked down and saw that his companion had actually been knocked flat due to the resulting Explosion that both the Minior had caused.
“Mishka! I’m never going to forgive myself if you’re—“ he trailed off, biting down hard on his lip and resisting the urge to just outright scream when a shadow loomed overhead, hovering before coming down—and instead of seeing a small, fluffy cloud-bird, said mass of clouds was much…larger.
A melodious humming noise then erupted from the now-Altaria, before suddenly veering in and burying itself in Damian’s face, causing him to flail for a few moments; his own voice muffled in the soft, fluffy body.
“Mmmmff—oof, Mishka,” he began, a bit muffled before managing to prise himself off of his affectionate companion. “You’re even fluffier now… not to mention…” he trailed off before hugging the Altaria tightly for a few moments.
It wasn’t until much later he realized that his companion had been knocked—no, wait—bowled over by the force of the dual Explosion blast did he realize that he wasn’t alone!
“Mish, wait a moment,” he said, untangling himself from the Altaria before extending a helping hand to his companion. “Here, grab my hand. I swear, even I almost got knocked over, but I hung on,” he said with a sheepish look on his face.
