In a rec center in the above ground of Liggs, the after-party of the festival was going well; music was playing, a virtual feast of snack foods was available, and the relaxed atmosphere was surely good for a couple of coordinator’s sanities. Some people dressed in fancier outfits, often with some sort of space theme or coloration, but others opted for more casual clothes, more interested in relaxing and partaking in the food than making themselves look as great as possible (in fact, some people might just be there for the food…). Coordinators were given some time to mingle, relax, sign a few autographs, and do whatever they wanted.
Halfway through the night, though, the music would shift into something else, gradually becoming less of the background as Jasmine, once again dressed in her long, revealing, galaxy-patterned dress of black, purple, and white dots, came onto the stage. As she did, she twirled and danced to the music, miming playing along with the violins so perfectly that she was practically playing with them. As she hit the center of the stage, she smirked gently, taking a gentle bow.
“Helloooooo, everyone,” she said with a sweet and jovial tune, though a fair bit calmer and relaxed than she was during the contest. “Has everyone been enjoying the food? The music? Good!” Speaking a little higher now, she smiled wide, standing up to her full height, speaking louder to convey the energy and excitement of her announcement. “Before we begin, I would like to thank Miss Michiru Morgause , Miss @lucia , and of course Miss Emily Styles for taking time out of their lives to judge our contest so wonderfully! I wish you three lots of luck in whatever you do! Especially you, Emily!”
Tapping the microphone attached to the front of her dress after it made a soft noise, making sure everyone was okay, she continued, “Welcome, everyone, to tonight’s main event: announcement of the winners! Everyone worked so hard on their performances over the past couple of days, but some people really shone through, let’s see who they are!” She reached a hand off to the side, getting a small jewelry case, a ribbon, and two envelopes. She deftly opened one, looking over the contents.
“The Star Festival’s third place winner is… Elayne Laurent ! Congratulations, you win the third place ribbon, which can be redeemed at your local Grand Festival, 50 Mun, and a lovely hair pin depicting an artist’s recreation of Bal’s Comet! Be careful with this, they’re real!”
Handing off those prizes, she took the next ones, pulling out the card before reading excitedly, “Second prize goes to Serafeyna Carroll ! YOU, my defiant little friend, get a second place ribbon, which can earn you entry at the next Grand Festival, 70 Mun, and an absolutely gorgeous galaxy ring! Make sure to keep it polished!
As she handed off those prizes, she looked to the crowd, failing to pick up the next prizes as she took a moment. “Before I announce the final winner, I would like to say that even though not everyone is a winner, everyone was absolutely amazing, the crowd loved you, and you’re all getting consolation prizes of 30 Mun each. You may not have one, but you all did great!”
Picking up the next prizes, she returned to her earlier energy as she unfolded the card, saying, “The first place prize, earning a whopping 100 Mun, the first place ribbon, and a hand-carved necklace of the solar system… is the very lovely Pale Heart! (@astrid ) Get on up here, girl, and grab your prizes!”
“To the winners, congratulations! A lot of people did great today but you guys shined especially bright in the night! To those that didn’t win, you shined bright, too, and there’s always next time! This officially draws the Liggs Star Festival contest to a close, but you can still enjoy the party. Have fun, everyone, and keep training to be the best you can be!”
