Joshua philip dragomir
Josh | 23 | Male / Straight |
RaiCorp Ranch | Interpol | CEO Of RaiCorp |
Appearance
Short Version:
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Brown
Height: 6'4
Weight: 235lbs
Build: Muscular
Clothing: Black leather jacket - blue t-shirt - black pants - black boots - black bag - black mega gauntlet on right hand, matching gauntlet without keystone on the left.
Detailed Version:
Josh, as expected, looks to be in his early 20s, with long, near-golden blonde hair and brimming blue eyes. He has a fair face, with lips that commonly seem to be smirking or harboring some sort of humorous expression, or simply showing an expression of amusement. He's about 6'4 feet tall, with a physique that could be considered muscular from travel, working with Pokemon, keeping himself in shape and weightlifting, but certainly not the type of muscular you would see on a buff person in the Colosseum games. He looks more... Healthy, you could say. He also keeps a mustache and beard, though after feeling the need to represent a brand, as well as an acting side-career slowly progressing, and constant nicknames from Izumi that usually include the word "Scruff", he's very much cleaned up in terms of facial hair, keeping it much more clean cut and organized then before.
Wanting to return to his roots a little, Josh has since returned to his former outfit, often being seen wearing a black leather jacket, with a blue Pokeball logo on the right shoulder, wearing under it a blue t-shirt. Keeping up a black pair of pants is a belt which also holds six Pokeballs, with Lightning's usually tending to be on it at all times, while other Pokeballs are interchanged back and forth everytime he leaves Raicorp Ranch. He's returned to more traditional black boots as well. While one would think he's wearing a little too much black, he doesn't seem to care as he has retained the black gauntlets from the prior outfit, with the Mega Gauntlet on the right hand holding his Keystone, and the left hand's gauntlet there for the sake of matching.

History
Josh grew up living a quiet life in a region far away, on his parent's ranch. With his parents both being former Trainers, his father being one of the top trainers of the region in his youth, the ranch housed all of these Pokemon, as well as took in wild Pokemon that happened to be looking for a home in the area. With his mother looking into the job opportunities of Pokemon research, having all of these Pokemon in one place meant that they needed a hand with the work, and in enlisting their son's help, Josh's passion for Pokemon began then and there. He spent his childhood working on the ranch, helping feed the Pokemon, take care of the Pokemon, and as he got older, would help round them up when the rowdier ones got loose. People didn't tend to visit the ranch, so it was generally just Josh, his constantly busy parents, and the Pokemon. With his parents constantly absorbed in their work, Josh's social activity as a child was generally limited to Pokemon, which made it rather difficult when he was first sent to elementary school. He had a difficult time socializing with other children, and generally preferred to just play with the Pokemon there. In middle school, he had managed to start the foundations of socialization, but his efforts didn't have enough time to fester. As it turns out, his father's... Prior occupation had led to old enemies of his starting to hunt him down. Not wanting to endanger his wife or child, the ranch was closed down and they would relocate to the Kotaku Region, far away, buying a new property far in the wilds, away from prying eyes, in order to escape them. For Josh, it only meant a new place to adjust to, new school to adjust to, and new people that he didn't know, and had an even harder time getting along with.
With his social activity still low, he would spend much of his time studying, and working with his family on the new ranch, throughout middle school, and even through high school. Prior to his graduation, he had expressed desires to become a Pokemon Trainer, like his parents before him, and they were open to the idea. A promise was made that they would help him reach that dream if he worked hard, studied hard and graduated. So he did. He graduated with top marks, his motivation to reach his dream driving him on. Unfortunately, after his graduation, rumours of trouble began to spread, concerning the wilds in the region. Realizing that this could put their son in danger, Serena and Philip Dragomir talked long and hard, and eventually came to the conclusion that they would have to break their promise to their son, as much as it hurt, in order to protect him. They didn't tell him why they were making him go far away to go study at some faraway school in Sinnoh, or why they were going back on their promise, they simply said it was the best thing for him, and tried to reason that if he was able to get a degree that would help with a backup career in case being a Trainer didn't work out, then he would be safe to become a Trainer. They even went so far as to not even give him a Pokemon of his own, knowing that if he did, it would possibly drive him to come back and become a Trainer no matter what they said.
It was a very cruel, in Josh's eyes, way of doing it, but they were doing what they could do protect him from the dangers that were to come.
Of course, Josh didn't see it that way. He was heartbroken, betrayed, but seeing he had no choice, he would abide by their decision and soon he would be shipped off to a university in Sinnoh, promising to return in a few years, to at least check in.
In the end, his family had been correct in sending him away, as soon after, an experiment gone wrong back in the Kotaku region caused several Pokemon to contract a disease that made them feral, as well as strenghening them, that was heavily contagious to other Pokemon, trained and wild alike, that would quickly spread and bring the region to it's knees. Dragomir Ranch was forced to be closed down to protect the Pokemon, and Josh's family would go into hiding, unbeknownst to him.
During his time in post-secondary education, his social situation got a little better and he managed to begin to catch up on the social cues that he had been missing most of his life. Though he never did seem to get dating down.... Alas, after a few years, he had decided to return home for a break in order to break the news to his family that he had begun work on a psychology degree. He would show up to find the region in a state of heavy guard and quarantine in order to contain the disease, and would have to sneak back into the border and find his way home. He would find his family in a small town, where they had been living since abandoning the ranch, and in the process, would see just how bad people had it there. Seeing people get hurt, seeing people suffer, caused the naive and good-natured side of him to run off and go on his journey without the blessing of his family, this time not for his gain, but to go out and help people. Deep down, he really thought he could make a difference.
Oh, was he wrong.
In the next town, he would run into the group of scientists who had accidentally started the outbreak, who decided to give him a Torchic that they had been testing a vaccine on, in order to see if it would actually work - in order for them to sell said vaccine for a heavily marked up price.
Josh would learn quickly just how dangerous the situation was, being put in several life threatening situations. But it didn't stop him from managing to hold his own, and in doing so saved the life of a dying baby Pichu, who's mother had been killed by the feral Pokemon. Naming the Pichu Lightning, he and Vulcan, the Torchic, would become his partners. Together, they fought to survive, and for the fate of the region.
But the threat's impact on humanity.... This, he would find out firsthand when a man he trusted to help him against the feral Pokemon would turn on him, revealing himself to have somehow forged an alliance with the feral ones, even going so far as to throw his own Pokemon to the monsters as tribute. This incident destroyed the childish, quiet, naive demeanor that Josh had possessed his entire life, leading him to take more merciless measures to survive, ruthlessly attacking the feral Pokemon everywhere he was, sometimes even delivering the killing blow himself.
But not even Josh's help could contain it. Soon, it was decided that surviving inhabitants would be evacuated and the region would be bombed to rid the world of the disease forever. Josh would reunite with his family, taking Lightning and Vulcan, along with a few other Pokemon he had caught with him, hesitantly leaving the region and arriving in Hoenn to rebuild their lives.
With the threat now no longer a problem, his family finally made due on their promise, giving him permission to travel and become a Pokemon Trainer, while they stayed behind to try and rebuild their lives in Hoenn.
Taking the Pokemon that had served with him in Kotaku, Josh would head out on his journey to finally make his dreams come true. During this time, he would find himself all over the world. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and even Kalos. Along the way, he would grow as a man and as a Trainer, through the experiences he had with his Pokemon, and the people he met, rebuilding his personality, his very being, that had been shattered in Kotaku, becoming a completely different person in the process. There were two people in particular that he met, that became a big part of his life. Of course, there was still moments of tragedy. His father disappeared soon after he left on his journey, and never returned. Eventually, they could no longer wait for him when they left for the Nue region, and the Dragomir family, along with two business partnering families, would start up a new ranch in the region. It was here that Josh would discover and master the secrets of Mega Evolution.
Many months passed after this, and the ranch had expanded into something much more. RaiCorp was formed, specializing in many functions that included Pokemon research, breeding, the Izakya's branches, and other ventures, with Josh as one of the primary shareholders. Combine this with his travelling as a Trainer, and as an aspiring actor, and Josh would find himself quite busy. An opportunity would come when they wished to expand to the Veria Region, and Serena, Josh's mother, would ask for Josh and a woman who had become a very close friend, with possibly more in store, a business partner, a travelling companion as well as his roommate, to go to the region and establish a new ranch there to base their operations in the region from. Before long, land would be bought, a house would be built, and only taking a percent of his Pokemon with him, the two would begin their new life in Veria.
Of course, many questions still remained to be answered.

Skills (3/11)
Major (2): Athleticism - Throughout his time growing up working on the ranch, Josh spent quite a bit of his time not just taking care of Pokemon, but also having to - as he got older - brave the dangers of the wilds in order to go after one should they run off. He would find himself climbing mountains, swimming through rivers and braving harsh terrains. The more he had to do it, the more physically fit he became. Travelling and braving the world also contributed heavily to this. He also happened to pick up an interest in parkour from Izumi, though his close friend is still a ways better then him at that.
Minor (1): Strength - The same as with his athleticism, his strength and core were heavily influenced by his work growing up, as well as his time spent travelling, allowed him to become physically strong. Of course, at the suggestion of his mother, weight training to balance himself out has also been a factor.
