A while back I did a thing seeing how orientations were distributed among characters. This is gonna be like that, but with a lot more stuff! I won't bother breaking it down by class this time, though, as some of the things have a lot more options and it would get very long.
Numbers in [brackets] are NPCs, counted separately from full characters. (So for instance, 4 [+2] means 4 character and 2 NPCs, 6 total.) Two characters who are supposed to be downgraded to NPCs soon are preemptively counted as such. Also two of my NPCs, Feliks and Miyuna, don't have proper bios yet but are counted anyway bc I can, this is a personal project, ssh.
Disclaimer: Anything may be slightly off either due to a bio not being updated recently (ex: since a birthday or a move) or due to differences in interpretation vs intention on writing. For instance, I took "well built" on male characters to be medium-muscular, but if your definition of "well-built" is different then it may be misclassified.
Hopefully this is at least mostly accurate, though, and can be interesting and useful for you guys~! Whether you want to use this information to help ensure your next character stands apart from the crowd right away, or want to find the best age range to hit for shipping fuel; to see if a job has been done before to pick something different or to pick one where you'll have more coworker opportunities; or to know just what qualifies as average/short/tall in Veria; there's bound to be at least one or two things of interest.
A few notes of interest are also listed after some fields if you just want to skim for those. :3
Not counting NPCs:
The youngest characters are Steven Grayson and Emily Kaldwin!
The oldest characters are Daniel Bosch and Mizuki Kaimana!
Some characters are listed twice if they have multiple places of residence. NPCs not listed here if they don't have a home in Veria.
The most popular city is Faraday!
The least popular city is Carrefor! (Go show it some love guys!)
(Notes: If a character was born one place but grew up another, region of birth is what's recorded here. Veria is assumed when unclear unless history mentions moving from somewhere.
Also: Luke is a non-Pokeworld Faller but "fell" when with his mother when she was pregnant with him, so he was born in this world and is counted as his region of birth.)
There are more immigrant than Verian-born characters.
However, Veria outweighs any single other region of origin!
The next most common region of origin is Kanto!
The least common (that made the list) is Sinnoh!
We have no characters specified from Ranger regions! (Fiorre, Almia, Oblivia)
The most common singular sexual orientation is Straight.
Pan comes in a close second, and the numbers are more equal between genders.
LGB+ orientations collectively are much more common than being Straight, as well!
The most common singular romantic orientation is Demiromantic!
"Pansexual Demiromantic" is by far the most common combination for
non-matching sexual/romantic orientations.
Hair with dyed streaks or otherwise containing a small amount of a secondary+ color is treated as the primary or natural color. "Other" are hard to classify.
* = What color are Steven Stevenson's eyes? The world may never know.
Just color ranges to avoid trying to distinguish exact races. Ex: is this very pale character "white" or "East Asian" or something else?? Standard racial concepts also rely on real-world geography which doesn't exist here. So this is just going by light/medium/dark appearance. Some that were borderline were just guessed based on written description, and in a few cases where written description was different than visual it was given precedence.
Standard rounding for fractions; half or more is up, under half is down.
A number in parentheses indicates that many are children/teens likely to grow more. Ex: "4 (2)" would mean "4 total characters this height, but 2 of those 4 are still growing". This is not done with older teens / early 20's chars who "could" still grow but are already a very adult height. (In particular I know Lucien will still grow but isn't be marked among children. My NPC Nalani would be borderline but she's not getting any taller so she isn't marked either.)
The mean and median height for men in Veria are both ~6'0½".
The mean height for women in Veria is 5'4½". The median is 5'5".
(The male average is taken without giant NPCs Feliks, Hughard, and Draven. When including them, however, it only raises half an inch to 6'1".
The female mean is taken without dwarf characters Harper and Roxanne. When including them, however, it only drops half an inch to 5'4".)
Ordered from shortest to tallest on all lists, and not counting NPCs:
-- The shortest adults female characters are Harper, Roxanne, Arcadie, and Kristina/Reila/Elena.
-- The shortest adult male characters are Rhafiel, Hunter, Seraph, and Mason.
-- The tallest female characters are Mia, Natsu/Gidget, Lucia, and Charlene.
-- The tallest male characters are Adrian/Yamato, Josh/Lucien, and Rikkan.
-- Sam A,/Luke/Dawnson tie for shortest nonbinary char, while Dasha is the tallest.
