Simply put, would you like to see Pokemon "Veria Forms" in the same vein that we have "Alola Forms"? Not quite full fakemon, but redesigns and minor stat changes for canon Pokemon to adapt them to new environments. For example, as one possible option, we could have these Ice/Flying Tundra-dwelling variants of Hoothoot and Noctowl. Abilities: Keen Eye, Snow Cloak | Hidden Ability: Insomnia Every Veriant would, of course, be designed complete with a Shiny form, abilities, full moveset that mostly follows the original species movesets with some type changes if the old one doesn't already fit (ex: Meowth and Rattata's don't change), possibly a few lost/gained egg move options, and probably minor stat shifts. Because the changes would be minor, they would all be fully able to be run through the battle calculator with just a few adjustments. (Ex: changing the 'Normal' to 'Ice' on Noctowl and editing base stats slightly.) Final designs would, of course, be voted in for member approval before being added to the spawn lists.
If you do like this idea, please feel free to reply with any ideas you have, whether they're Pokemon you'd like to see new forms of (specifically 'adapted for X environment' or just 'anything of this species'), type combos you'd like to see, or specific Pokemon-type combos. (Note: Ideally, to balance the spawn lists after permanently placing Slakoth, we could try to design up to 24 Veriants of common Pokemon lines and 5 Veriants of rare ones. Regional Starters (Bulbasaur, Fennekin, etc) and Pokemon who already have Alola forms or Mega Evos are unlikely to be considered (including Exeggcute, Pikachu, and Cubone, even though only their evos got new forms). Pokemon with branch evolutions might but would be tricker than straightforward Pokemon. Pokemon with a very specific gimmick (Eevee, Mimikyu, Komala, etc) are unlikely to be messed with.)

I think this is a decent idea. I'm not a huge fan of fakemon but this is a great idea! I wanna see more sprites! Like a cool Togepi Sprite? Or.... oh or a Pikachu one cause there never was an Alolan Sprite.

Emily Kaldwin - Please click on one of the poll options above to make your vote official. (Also, I added a note at the bottom about some Pokemon that are unlikely to be considered, including Pikachu. Do you have any particular ideas for Togepi, though? :o )

Aww nuts, my dreams of a Steel type Eeveelutions are killed. For a Togepi, given I believe they are Normal/Fairy I'd almost say part dark type? A contrast you know? Maybe, Dark/Steel, give it little steel spikes coming out of it's shell or something?

(A few personal thoughts/vague concepts for unused or barely used type combinations: Dark/Fairy Spritzee/Aromatisse, Fighting Bunnelby -> Fighting/Ground Diggersby, Psychic/Ghost Stantlerrrr as a mystical white stag hhhhhh, Bug/Dragon Yanma/Yanmega lol, Ice/Electric Joltik/Galvantula.. and I almost want to be horrible and say Ice/Bug Durant bc the normal one wears metal armor to protect itself but makes itself twice as weak to its main enemy in the process so I almost wanna make a 'Durant really really doesn't understand evolution' joke. x'''3)

This Stantler seriously needs to happen. I am so go on this Stantler idea. I love it. :x Rock/Ghost Veriant of Spiritomb, possibly? To branch into the rare ones. I am sorry to suggest this since it is a branch evolution BUT Fairy/Ground Nincada!
We should try to do something with the Nidos... but I don't have a good suggestion.
Edit: ALSO, Psychic/Bug Caterpie line.

as long as at least one of them is Fire/Steel, I'm game
or Steel/Poison...that would be a fun combo...
I mean...sure, both of them would be extremely weak to Ground but still
basically, I just want more Steel-types for Akira to catch
Edit: After giving it some thought, I'd absolutely love to see a Steel/Fire version of the Rhydon line. Have them be made out of obsidian with tiny streams of what look like magma flowing through cracks on their bodies (i.e., basically what I was wishing Alolan Golem would've been before it was actually revealed).
Also, are we allowing for custom abilities as well? Because, if so, I have a mighty need for a Water/Steel version of Octillery that's designed to look like some sort of sci-fi battleship and has an ability that gives all "beam" moves a boost in power.

okay so, I've actually put in some effort, and have come up with an actual list of Veria Forms I'd like to see, along with what I think might be good abilities for them...so...in no particular order...
---------
Rhyhorn, Rhydon and Rhyperior - Steel/Fire with an obsidian-like appearance and magma-like "veins" flowing in small cracks on its body.
Abilities - Magma Armor or Rock Head
Hidden Ability - Temper; a new ability that changes all of their Normal-type moves into Fire-type and gives them a 20% boost in power. If you'd prefer not to involve new abilities, then...I dunno. Stick with Reckless I guess? Or maybe Sheer Force.
Side notes - This is more or less what I was hoping Alolan Golem would be, before it was actually revealed. Granted, Alolan Golem is one of my favorite Alolan forms, but even so.
---------
Ekans and Arbok - Water/Ground; redesigned to resemble garter snakes.
Abilities - Shed Skin or Dry Skin
Hidden Ability - Hydration
Side notes - nothing worth noting, to be honest; I've always wanted an aquatic snake-based Pokemon, and this seemed like a great way to introduce one.
----------
Joltik and Galvantula - Ice/Bug; basically white and even more cute and fluffy.
Abilities - Compoundeyes and Snow Cloak
Hidden Abilities - either keep Swarm or give it something new like Refrigerate. I'll let mods decide which sounds better.
Side notes - I know people are gonna be like "BUT THEY HAVE "JOLT" AND "GALVANIZE" AS PARTS OF THEIR NAMES SO THEY HAVE TO BE ELECTRIC-TYPE", but...well, that didn't stop Game Freak when they made Sandshrew and Sandslash into Steel/Ice. So...*shrug*...
something tells me this is going to be overruled in favor of SG's idea so...oh well XD
------------
Octillary - Water/Steel; has a metallic outer shell designed to evoke the look of a battleship but is otherwise the same underneath said shell.
Abilities - Sniper or Impact Canon (see side note)
Hidden Ability - Mega Launcher; would mean adding the various "pulse" moves (and maybe Aura Sphere) to its movepool to make it viable, but I don't think it'd be too big an issue since all but two are TM/Tutor moves, and it shouldn't be hard to slip Aura Sphere and/or Heal Pulse into it's level-up moves.
Side Notes - Impact Cannon (provided custom abilities will be allowed) will increase the power of all "beam" moves by 30%. I'm thinking it could also include a Octozooka, since it's in the same power range as a lot of the "beam" moves. It's a fairly nice moves that I often find myself wishing were a bit stronger than it actually is, especially since it's a signature move. Either way, if you'd rather not involve custom abilities, then...I guess it can have Battle Armor or something similar instead.
Also, Veria Form!Octillery will evolve from a regular Remoraid.
-------------
Growlithe and Arcanine - Rock/Fairy; designed to closely resemble shiisa statues, which is partly what Arcanine was (loosely) based on.
Abilities - Tough Claws or Sturdy
Hidden Ability - Justified
Side notes - seriously though; everyone was all "ERMAGERD WATER ARCANINE NEEDS TO HAPPEN IT WOULD BE THE BEST THING EVER" and I'm like "no that's boring...Shiisa!Arcanine or bust". So...yeah. Also, in case it wasn't obvious, this is based on the actual statues rather than the creature itself. I'd considered basing it on the actual creature, but I couldn't think of what a good Type would be for it. So this was the compromise I made with myself, and I'm admittedly liking how it turned out.
Rather than a Fire Stone, Verian Growlithe would evolve via a Shiny Stone.
-----------
Boldore and Gigalith - Rock/Poison; they have yellow sulfur crystals sticking out of their bodies and look slightly more sinister than their Unovan counterparts.
Abilities - Sturdy and Poison Touch
Hidden Ability - Clear Body
Side notes - was going to be Steel/Poison, but a conversation with SG persuaded me to do Rock/Poison instead. That mercury Goomy line better happen tho
Veria Form Boldore evolves from a normal Roggenrolla
----------
Anyways...yeah. That's what I've got so far...might add more if I think of anything...though I'll probably sit back and let other members post their ideas first. Either way, don't hesitate to let me know what you think.

Porygon, Porygon2 and Porygon-Z - Porygon and Porygon2 are pure Electric, while Porygon-Z is Electric/Ghost. Porygon and Porygon2 look more or less the same, but are yellow instead of pink. However, both of their bodies are noticeably glitchy, and they move erratically not unlike what you'd expect from a normal Porygon-Z. Meanwhile, the Veria Form of Porygon-Z is so incredibly corrupted and glitchy that it borders on outright becoming Missingno. It's only barely recognizable as a variation of Porygon-Z.
Ability - Their only ability is Glitch, which is basically not!Mummy. It has no actual effect on those who have it, other than visually making them incredibly glitchy; hence the name.
Side notes - This is the last one for now, I swear. It's just the idea popped into my head and I had to make it official. Also, I was sorely tempted to give all of them the ???-type, but I eventually chose not to since that officially stopped being a thing in Gen V.

@aurora - Do you have any visual design thoughts for your suggestions? For example, as much as everyone wants Electric/Dark Luxray and Fighting/Flying Braviary, I personally find it hard to imagine them looking more Dark or Fighting than the canon designs already do. If you have any suggestions for what to redesign, though, it would lend a stronger presence to the ideas.
---
Also following up from Akira's mention, part of me thinks "hhh we shouldn't mess with pseudolegends" but then like half of them have Megas and the others don't and we already have Metagross so steel isn't too OP so--
Verian Goomy/Sliggoo/Goodra
Steel/Poison based on mercuryyyyy, the shiny drippy liquid metal poison.
Abilities: Poison Touch and Liquid Ooze Hidden: A little more questionable. Could keep Gooey, or maybe get Corrosion, Power of Alchemy, Heavy Metal, or Poison Heal
Stats: ... Hrm. Most regional variants shift 10 points if any, but Sandslash does 20 and Raticate a whopping 40 so... I'd say.. -10 Speed -10 Sp Def, +10 Attack +10 Sp Atk for Goodra; -10 Sp Def, +5 Atk +5 Sp Atk for Goomy and Sliggoo
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Elaborating on my earlier ideas
Spritzee/Aromatisse, Dark/Fairy
A slightly scarier version to play to more classic plague doctor aesthetic. Moveset would be pretty similar with a few Dark and Poison moves worked in. Still a healer/doctor by trade, but looks scary to ward off evil spirits that might cause illness, and may turn its knowledge of medicine against you to hurt rather than heal if crossed or threatened.
Abilities: 2 out of 3: Healer, Triage, or Intimidate Hidden: Corrosion (or a renamed version, the way Vital Spirit and Insomnia are the same) or Intimidate
Stats: Stats could be left alone, or shift 10 between Attack and Defense (either direction really)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Joltik/Galvantula, Ice/Electric, because I'm still angry about Sandshrew, and because if Charizard isn't naturally Dragon then I don't see why a spider has to be Bug.
Similar description to Akira's, white and fluffy, ALTHOUGH literally as I type this sentence it occurs to me you could give it a super cool aurora effect bc magnetism is what creates the auroras! :D (This could and should be done with any Elec/Ice type ofc if we come up with a different one lol.)
Abilities/Hidden: any combination of: Compoundeyes, Snow Cloak, Fur Coat, Refrigerate, or Galvanize
Stats: Probably something like minus speed, plus HP, becoming slower and bulkier to live in the tundra.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Fighting Bunnelby --> Fighting/Ground Diggersby
Punching harder, buffer arms on Diggersby. Evolved from helping miners in Liggs! :D (Credit to Yumi for that bit.) -Armstrong voice- "THE VERIAN DIGGERSBY HAVE BEEN HELPING THE LIGGS MINERS FOR GENERATIONS!" -FLEXES-
(Not that I'm ridiculously biased because I designed a gray rabbit with brown accents that had hands for ears and was gonna be a fighting type over a year before XY or anything.)
Abilities: Stamina, Iron Fist Hidden: Huge Power
Stats: -10 Sp Def, -10 Sp Atk; +20 Atk
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Stantler, Psychic/Ghost
Stantler is already pseudo-psychic in the same vein as Psyduck and Hoothoot. The Normal version learns 5 Psychic moves and 2 Ghost moves, and some of the Dex entries are "The curved antlers subtly change the flow of air to create a strange space where reality is distorted" and "Those who stare at its antlers will gradually lose control of their senses and be unable to stand." So the idea is, why not take that and play it up way farther. A mythical, elusive white stag. Since Ghost-types can always run away, and Stantler was overhunted for its antlers in the past, it could have evolved to develop its latent mystic powers to become more elusive. White, add a few wisps, maybe reshape the antlers slightly, and glowing eyes.
Abilities: Serene Grace, Quick Feet Hidden: Magic Guard (and give it Curse 8'3)
Alt: If Curse Magic Guard is deemed too overpowered, White Smoke and Quick Feet for normal, and Serene Grace for Hidden.
Stats: Either left alone, or maybe like -5 HP, +5 speed
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, won't go too into Ice/Bug Durant bc it'd be a pretty straightforward armor swap as the main design aspect (maybe a bit bulkier too) but my partner Flora suggested Fire/Rock Heatmor to go with it and I haven't been able to stop giggling at how badly those Durant's evolution backfired. X"""3

Oh right; I forgot about stat changes. So I'll just knock them all out in one go.
Rhydon and Rhyperior: -5 SpA and SpD; +10 Def
Arbok: -10 Atk and SpD; +20 SpA
Joltik and Galvantula: I'll go with SG's idea so...-10 Spe; +10 HP
Octillary: -5 Atk and Spe; +10 Def
Porygon-Z: -10 Atk; +10 HP
Arcanine: -10 Spe; +10 Def
Boldore and Gigalith: -20 Def and -10 Atk and SpD; +40 SpA
Everyone else remains the same

So...since no one else was coming up with anything (or, at least, they're not posting it here if they are), I decided to share a few more I thought of. --------- Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume and Bellossom - Oddish, Gloom and Vileplume are Grass/Fire, and are redesigned to evoke the image of habenaro peppers. Meanwhile, Bellossom is Grass/Ghost, and resembles a ghost pepper. Abilities: Chlorophyll or Flame Body Hidden Ability: Flash Fire Stat Changes: none Side notes: At first I wasn't sure whether or not to include Bellossom into the equation, since I at least wanted them to be different from Vileplume in some way, but couldn't quite think of how to do so. Then I remembered ghost peppers are a thing and decided to go with visual pun by making it actually a Ghost-type; similar to how Alolan Exeggutor being a Dragon-type might a references to the Dracaena genus. Also, to reflect that it's still based on a spicy pepper, Verian Bellossom would still have access to multiple Fire-type moves and Flame Body/Flash Fire as potential abilities. --------- Ponyta and Rapidash - Ponyta is pure Fairy; basically, think of the pinkest, gayest looking unicorn you can imagine and that's pretty much it. Rapidash is the same, but is now a pegasus-unicorn and thus becomes Fairy/Flying upon evolving. Ponyta may or may not by fluffy and dance on rainbows. Abilities: Run Away or Dazzling Hidden Ability: Ponyta has Pixilate; Rapidash has Aerialate Stat Changes: -10 Atk and SpD; +20 SpA Side notes: I'm sorry. The idea popped into my head and I couldn't resist; as such, it's not really meant to be taken seriously...though I wouldn't complain if it was still made into a thing. Also, the PFUDOR reference is mostly a joke. --------- Vanillite, Vanillish and Vanilluxe - Ice/Fire, and are now a bright red color with swirls of what appear to be chocolate running throughout. Is based oh chili pepper/chocolate ice cream (which is amazing by the way). Abilities: Vanillite and Vanillish have Snow Cloak and Flame Body; Vanilluxe has Snow Warning and Flame Body Hidden Ability: Slush Rush Stat Changes: none Side notes: Nothing really worth noting here; just found myself wandering what could work as a Fire/Ice-type and this is what came to mind. Also seriously; chocolate chili pepper ice cream is amazing. Like, I'm usually a wimp with spicy foods (and it's pretty damn spicy), but the sweetness of the chocolate (and the overall coldness of the ice cream itself) creates a nice contrast with the heat that works surprisingly well. --------- Tentacool and Tentacruel - Electric/Poison, redesigned to resemble comb jellies. Abilities: Static and Liquid Ooze Hidden Ability: Toxic Shock; a custom ability in which all Electric-type moves used by Tentacool/Tentacruel that has a chance of paralyzing the opponent will instead have a chance of poisoning them. The chance of afflicting the poison remains the same; Spark will still have a 30% chance, whereas Thunderbolt will still only have a 10%, while Zap Cannon is guaranteed if it hits. Lastly, this only applies to damage-inflicting attacks, meaning Thunder Wave will still have its normal effect. If custom abilities aren't allowed, then...I dunno. Poison Touch, I guess. Stat Changes: -20 SpD; +10 Atk and SpA Side notes: Another one that I just thought would be really neat. Both the Type and the custom ability are a reference to how jellyfish stings are said to feel like an electric shocks. Since it would still technically be an aquatic Pokemon (it'd hardly be the only non-Water-type to live in/near water, after all), it would probably still have access to a few Water-type moves.

for the record, as far as lore behind all of the various changes for all of my ideas is concerned...I, admittedly, haven't quite thought that far ahead. For the most part, I've just been posting ideas that sound really cool to me. As such, I'm open to any ideas/suggestions.
Thus far, the most obvious one is Porygon; that one can easily be described as a random computer virus infecting them and making them unstable
As for others, here's what I've got thus far...it's not much but it's a start... ------ Tentacool and Tentacruel - Developed electrical abilities to more easily catch prey and fight off competition from other predatory Water-types...or something like that...
Vanillite and Oddish families - something something "developed fiery bodies to ward off predators who tried to eat them"
Rhyhorn family - well...apparently, volcanoes aren't a thing in Veria, and "it moved into a volcano which hardened its stone body and made it super-hot" was going to be my explanation for it and its evolutions...so...I have no idea...only other thing I could think of is they moved somewhere that has has an unnaturally high air pressure and their bodies became the way they are due to an extreme amount of friction...but I don't think anything like that is plausible even by Pokemon's standards. So...yeah. More so than any of the others I made, I really want this to be a thing, so I'm definitely open to suggestions.
Ekans and Arbok - Territorial Ground-type Pokemon kept invading their nests, eventually forcing them into trying to hide in lakes and river as a last-ditch effort. Over time, they slowly adapted to living in water, losing most of their natural venom but allowing them to move easily through water. While they don't need water to survive, they are often compelled to dig underground in search of moisture (hence the Ground-typing).
Growlithe and Arcanine - Imported from an unspecified region where actual Shiisa statues were extremely common and highly revered. Because Arcanine already vaguely resembles a Shiisa, it and Growlithe were slowly-but-steadily bred over many years to resemble the actual statues even more closely, going so far as to even alter their Type, which culminated into the creature it is today. Despite being created in a different region, they can only be found in the wild in Veria; thus they're considered a "Verian Form" even if only by technicality.
Ponyta and Rapidash - One day a Ponyta started dancing on a rainbow, causing a sparkling, magical wave of energy to burst out. These waves of magic transformed all Ponyta and Rapidash in the area, making them pink while Rapidash grew wings for no apparent reason. Yeah I got nothing. Like I said, this one wasn't really meant to be taken seriously; the idea merely popped into my head and I couldn't resist.
Boldore and Gigalith - A group of Roggenrolla stumbled upon some caverns that were contaminated by heavy pollution and made their homes there. While they themselves were seemingly unaffected by the toxic environment, their evolved forms revealed that it was having an effect on them, as their crystals had absorbed large amounts of toxins. Fortunately, they adjusted rather easily, resulting in them gaining the Poison-type upon evolving.

Don't feel like typing out full things atm but:
Ice/Fire Ponyta/Rapidash
Built like draft ponies/horses, Rapidash like a clydesdale/shire type of horse but softer and fluffier and more graceful than Mudsdale. Bulky builds, strong muscles, and inner fire make them ideal for working in ice environments. Icy hooves and horn on Rapidash, possibly blue fire with orange on the Shinies the way Muk swaps normal/shiny colors but slightly different.
Poochyena/Mightyena based on spotted hyenas. Maybe ground/fighting or rock/fighting or like anything I'm flexible on the typing I just need some proper hyenas.

Crystal Onix Line
Rare Orange Island variant (based on this episode of Pokemon Orange Island Adventures: The Legendary Crystal Onix and what this variant's info will be based on), this pokemon was first discovered on Sunburst island but since then can be found at the bottom of any underground lake. Because of it's unique crystal skin, the Crystal Onix can submerge itself underwater without getting hurt. What prompted the physical change is still a scientific mystery but the rare and beautiful crystal body of this line has made this variant quite the prize for any pokemon collector. Onix Type: WATER | ROCKResistences: Normal, Fire, Water, Ice, Poison, Flying Weaknesses: Electric, Grass, Fighting, Ground Onix Abilities: Rockhead – Protects the Pokemon from recoil damage. Sturdy – It cannot be knocked out with one hit. Water Absorb – (Hidden) Restores HP if hit by a Water-type move, instead of taking damage. Steelix Type: WATER | SteelResistences: Normal, Water, Ice, Poison, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Dragon, Steel, Fairy Weaknesses: Electric, Fighting, Ground Steelix Abilities: Rockhead – Protects the Pokemon from recoil damage. Sturdy – It cannot be knocked out with one hit. Sheer Force – (hidden) Removes additional effects to increase the power of moves when attacking. Drizzle – (Mega) Activates rain when the Pokémon enters battle.
This is about it, I don't know much about stats and how that would change. I think this would be a pretty cool variant to have and I mean its technically a thing so. :3c
