A lot of people today… Fingers tightening a little around the sheath of her katana, despite having been here long enough that the number of people she saw should be something she was accustomed to, Saya couldn’t help but feel the tiniest hint of discomfort as she slipped past strangers. Growing up in a place that seemed to have only about half as many people as what now lingered nearby, perhaps the experience had left her with some mild degree of agoraphobia, or maybe she simply preferred a quieter and more peaceful atmosphere? I could say something to Vivienne, but… Wondering if she should mention this minor intimidation to her therapist as she walked along, dressed in a jacket and long skirt over a pair of boots that almost reached her knees, a part of Miss Tachibana felt hesitant at the prospect. What if she thinks it means it’s too soon? The woman that she planned to meet in none too long a stretch of time certainly accomplished and helpful in her own way, what was of most concern to Saya was the impact it might have on her freedom. Having been ‘caged up’ for the best part of a year now and only recently started to enjoy the chance to make her own way to appointments, the indigo haired girl wondered if she might be better keeping the feeling to herself and hoping that it would be mended with time and experience. After all, she felt much less on edge now than she had that first time she set food into the streets of Faraday, and this time the dark beauty did not even have a chaperone with her? “Ah, Good Afternoon~” Mulling over the matter silently as she weaved her way along a route that she had by now memorized, when Saya finally arrived at the practice she had aimed for she shone with a smile that displayed none of the woe she had been carrying and greeted the woman at the desk in a fine and friendly fashion. “Ah, Miss Tachibana, take a seat, please?” Showing an accent as she spoke in a sweet fashion, almost on instinct the tall young woman dipped forward into a slight bow and smiled again at the receptionist as her greeting was returned. Needing little introduction since she had been here so much that most of the staff knew her by sight, the dark haired dish bobbed forward again in a nodding acknowledgement that showed some habits were hard to break before dipping over to a small waiting room and eying up the prospect of where to place her rear. Seems it’s a busy day today? A couple of faces darting toward her but looking away before catching her eye, as others seemed to slightly rudely attempt to ignore her presence, Saya simply smiled and chose to mimic their action. Stepping forward toward a pair of chairs that presented themselves as the only open pews, when she arrived at them Miss Tachibana gave a small sigh and bent in the middle as she spun around, sitting down on one seat and almost absentmindedly leaving her sword leaning on the other… Yumi Tasukai

"Look I know you think it's a bunch of cooky crap but it's really been helping me." "Saaaaa." "Heh. Yes, I know a 'true fighter' would just punch her worries away but you're gonna have to go to Liggs if you want one of those.~"
As the red head and her Sawk walked through the main city of Faraday, Yumi carrying a small shopping back of supplies since, while she was in town, it was best to stock up anyway, the two were primarily headed towards the offices of the therapist Yumi had been seeing to aid her recovery. While she was still a bit...unsettled, compared to how she used to be, it had been nice to have someone to talk to about the things she'd been through. Her work with the Rockets was deemed the mistakes of youth and she hadn't gotten in trouble for talking about it. She managed to word her involvement with Nue's flooding and Lugia sightings without incriminating herself while also relieving stress...yeah. Yeah it was good, as much as Ko-ken may have thought it was an over-priced chat session.
Walking into the building, Yumi adjusted her hoodie as Ko-ken followed in behind, Yumi recognized pretty quickly from how long she'd been coming in. "Ah Tasukai.~ Good to see you, Marvin's with a client but-" "Oh I know I'm early. Just best to get out of the cold right?" The front desk lady gave a light nod and the two walked in, Ko-ken was fine to stand and lean against a wall, but as Yumi walked in it was easy for her to spot there weren't really any seats...except...was that a sword!? Yumi...was more than a little on edge, but...she also knew she'd be waiting a while, walking up to the woman and rubbing her hands together in her hoodie's joined pockets nervously.
"Excuse me...is erm...is that your sword...? Does...does it need it's own seat or..?"

“Oh my word, I am terribly sorry!” Having switched off whilst she waited so much so that she hardly even registered the young woman until she spoke, as Yumi pointed out the little error that she had made, Saya jolted and shone with redness. The delicate fingers of the dark girl shooting out and sweeping up the weapon she had left sitting next to her like a partner, Miss Tachibana pulled the weapon to the opposite side of her knees to make sure it was out of the redheads way before stooping forward and lowering her head apologetically.
“Please accept my deepest and humblest apology?” Head hanging forward for a second or two before raising back up in a slow and slightly sheepish fashion, perhaps with less sincerity such an overblown apology for this kind of minor ‘offence’ might have seemed sarcastic, but Miss Tachibana was quite genuine in her display. Looking toward the eye of the red haired girl hopefully as her cheeks still shone with a little colour, Saya smiled gently and apologetically as she sat stiffly in her seat.

Yumi actually jolted back a little as the young woman before her took her sword back and bowed her head so low in apology. She hadn't seen an apology like that since the days she lived in Kanto, glancing left and right to spot a few eyes on them, but everyone was quiet, just hating their was any sort of 'scene' in this waiting room where they were all quietly reading their magazines and waiting for appointments, Yumi shifting to sit in the now empty spot as Ko-ken leaned against the wall beside her.
"No no no its okay, I-I was just trying to be funny is all." She smiled as bright as she could, genuinely trying to ease off the sense that she needed to apologize, while still holding a lot of bundled up nerves from even causing the situation. Hoping to try and ease the tension since they'd be sitting next to one another, she jokingly asked. "You here for being super apologetic or something?" A small beat passed before she nervously added "W-wait it's not rude to ask right? I-I don't usually chat here often..."

A pretty one, though seems anxious? The nervous reaction that Yumi gave making her think that her apology hadn’t quite worked in the manner that she had hoped, Saya let her eyes linger on the face of the femme for a few seconds before bowing her head again so as not to seem even more polite. The cute and girlish features of this stranger not something that she could ignore, Miss Tachibana certainly felt understanding of the uneasiness she could note. She had realized long ago that this was not the sort of place that people the untroubled gathered, herself included, and had always felt an atmosphere of tension whenever she was in the waiting room.
“Well, you see…” Answering the question that Yumi asked automatically, or at least beginning to, as the redhead seemed to point out the rudeness in the query so too did Saya realize that it might have seemed that way. Perhaps a hint of indiscretion shown by the girl yet the dark haired one humbled by her and feeling like she had little to hide, she would have answered rather honestly if given the chance, but gave a short chuckle when the woman at her side corrected herself.
“Yes, I can see why some might be considered rude really? I don’t find much offence, but others may find their feathers ruffled to be asked a stranger such a question… But I have a solution, I think?” Maybe it was the nerviness that the redhead showed her that compelled Saya to impose a little control on the conversation or perhaps some instinct she had honed long ago, but she felt compelled to rescue the woman from what might have been making her so nervous. Speaking slowly and softly as if she were speaking to someone she knew a lot better than this stranger, she leaned a little closer to the anxious young woman and smiled reassuringly as she waited just a second or two before telling what she meant.
“If I told you my name was Saya, and you told me your own, we wouldn’t be strangers and then such transgressions would easily be overlooked, yes?” Cocking her head a little ways backward and letting her lashes flutter in a manner that she could probably remember rehearsing in younger years if she tried, Miss Tachibana left her sword leaning against her thigh as she lifted her hand toward Yumi in a friendly greeting to reassure the woman. "Yours is an acquaintance I am sure that I will be happy to make~" Not really having made many friends and rather seeming to have had companions forced upon her as chaperones, there felt something a little liberating for Saya to make the acquaintance of someone on her own terms…

Yumi was looking over the girl and...honestly? She seemed a bit stiff but she found it hard to believe she needed therapy? Looking around the room it was easy to say you shouldn't judge any book by its cover, but she seemed well spoken...pretty...clean...Yumi didn't think she was any of those things herself. She looked nice sure but...pretty? Nah. She was pretty average in her head. Plus she did wash her clothes but she did have a poor habit of putting them on day after day without a wash so long as they didn't reek too bad...she was kinda eager to hear why she was here but it was rude to...
Oh...okay erm...she...was that meant to be flirty? It sounded a little too stiff to be flirty but...maybe? Ugh this was just...her seeing flirting where it wasn't again and she shouldn't think like that. All the same the offer to exchange names and get to know eachother...it felt sweet and kind, and Yumi wasn't so used to that with the fleeting interactions she had with people these days. She took her hand and shook gently, Ko-ken being cautiously suspicious of the strange woman as they shook hands.
"I'm Yumi Tasukai. I'm here recovering from er...lets just call it a bit of a psychological issue. I'm all better but the doc's helping me build my confidence back up..." She withdrew her hand and offered a genuine look of interest with her smile. "How about you? You don't have to go into too many details o'course."

Yumi? Bow? Almost reflexively likening the name that the redhead had given her to a rather similarly sounding word in her native tongue, Saya’s brow tightened just a touch before shaking her head and writing it off as an amusing overlap. Confidence issue? That would explain why she seems anxious… The eyes of Miss Tachibana narrowing just a fraction as she nodded at what she was told, she paused for a second and nodded, digesting what she was told and letting it marry up with her observations. The insight that she possessed allowing her to draw a quick connection between what Yumi described and how she behaved, the dark beauty remained in a considerate quietness for a second or two until the redhead repeated her query from earlier.
“Myself? Well, it was recommended as part of my transition, you see?” The conversation returning to a question that she had been eager to answer earlier on, with a little bit more time and consideration, it felt a little bit harder for Saya to tell Yumi why she was attending this therapy. “I do not come from Veria, and being pulled here left me rather… Wounded, one might say, especially in the mind?” Brow of the beauty furrowing slightly as she dipped into a little more detail on what was going on with her, she offered what information she was able to pass along. Certainly the field of Psychology something that was rather newly introduced to her, while Miss Tachibana had a mind sharp enough to seem perceptive about others, the matters of her own mind felt far harder to read.
“There are things I can’t remember, and it has been mentioned that a ‘shock of culture’ might have been dangerous without the right coaching?” At times feeling somewhat like she was the person who understood the least what she had been through, even with the grace and eloquence that Saya possessed she still struggled a little to comprehend and convey her experiences to others. A cocktail of Amnesia and Interdimensional Travel was something of a tricky thing to suffer a hangover from…

Yumi was...more than a little curious as to what exactly was going on with the other woman. There was a clear sense that she seemed a bit...upset maybe? Talking about where she came from? The way she said she was pulled here made it sound like she was forced here too against her will. Yumi didn't take that to it's extreme however...she looked well dressed, well spoken...probably just dragged here by some wealthy parent or something at a guess.
"Well some regions are a lot different than others, guess coming to one where there's a damn train city could be quite the shock indeed eh?" She offered a weak smile and shifted her seat a little, pulling one of her ankles up onto the chair with her to get comfy and trying to face Saya a bit more as they spoke. "Did you come from one of the smaller regions? I hear they can be a little behind the times these days..."

“A Train City…?” Some of the more fantastical aspects of her new home something that even after a year Saya was not entirely accustomed to, given the sheltered circumstances in which she had been living the dark haired girl had not had much chance to go out and see all that much for herself. Hospitals, clinics and laboratories what she had spent almost all of her time visiting since she had arrived in Veria, this was perhaps another reason the young woman found a great personal pull to explore the independence that she could now enjoy.
“I came from… I am honestly not really sure? The part of the world that I had occasion to visit seemed rather large. It took the best part of a day to travel from one village to another, and yet from what they tell me this is a place where one can zip from one side of a country to another?” The middle of Miss Tachibana’s brow tightening as she tried to comprehend the journey she had undergone, while people who had grown up in a modern environment might have had some degree of understanding and acknowledgement about the notion of interdimensional travel, she did not. It was like trying to tell an ant that they had been moved from the anthill in which they were born to one on the other side of the world. There was just no frame of reference there.
“When I was younger, the concept of even a single country was something that seemed so vast that only a handful had managed to see all of it? Yet, now I find that I am being told that the place I am in is entirely removed from where I grew up in, and with no memory of how I managed to here… No concept of the distance that I have travelled it hurts both my head and my heart to focus too heavily on how far away I am from what I know?” Looking down as she felt herself being slightly overwhelmed by what people had tried to explain to her, Saya squeezed the sword which she had at her side gently, feeling like it was the one thing that connected her to her home. Perhaps it was ironic that she had once wished whole heartedly to be removed from what she knew, now that it stung so to consider that life was further away than she could imagine? It was hard.
“In reflection, that is probably why I am expected to come here?” Looking up as she felt herself feeling a little bit vulnerable by all she had revealed, Miss Tachibana straightened herself up again, finding that the description of her feelings might be the best insight into the purpose of her being here.

Yumi was a little bewildered and confused about what Saya was saying...some mix of Amnesia and general confusion? Wherever she came from it sounded a little behind the times for starters, and however long she'd been here she hadn't seen Sinclair? "Well er...for starters, Sinclair is a train city, you'll see it come Monday actually? I think it's on schedule for that this week yeah." She gave a light nod and was tempted to pull out her phone to check the schedule, but that seemed a little rude mid conversation.
As for the other stuff...she had little she could say to be supportive, but thinking quickly- "Well you'll find great help here whatever the case...whether it's to help you remember things or just...adjust to life here I guess? Heck, look." She began, starting to remove her hoodie, wearing her tanktop underneath it was easily enough to see both of her arms, holding them out together to draw attention to them. One was notably a fair bit paler, and less muscular than the other. Not abnormally so, but enough to catch the eye. If she was a guy there'd be an easy masturbation joke to be made despite her being left handed, and the right one having more definition.
"See the weaker one? I couldn't use it for close to a year but they helped me get over some...I think they called it a mental block? Whatever it was, I can use it again now see? They even suggested a website for exericises and stuff so I can get my left arm back up to snuff. If they can help me use an arm again, I'm sure they can help you yeah?"

Curvier than I might have expected… Blinking as the redhead pulled off her sweater, as what lurked beneath it was fully revealed to Saya, she couldn’t help but glance over the sizes and shapes where shown. The large bust of Yumi not quite fully indicated by the cover she had been wearing over it, now that she was in something a little leaner Miss Tachibana found it to something of a pleasant discovery before shifting her attention to what the girl was trying to show her. Mental Block? Bringing one of her index fingers up to her chin and stroking the spot furtively as she noted the slight differences in the limbs, Saya nodded slowly at the encouragement she was given by her fellow femme. “Does what had happened to your arm have something to with why you are struggling for-" The way the Yumi had brought up both her lack of confidence earlier and now the help she had received in overcoming her problem seeming to connect the two things, before the dark haired girl could probe the issue any more deeply the matter was cut off by the sound of a small but sharp cough. “Miss Tachibana, the Doctor is ready to see you now?” The receptionist who Saya had greeted earlier now standing in the doorway to the waiting room, even though the dark beauty had hoped to continue the conversation with this new face a little while longer, it appeared that her time was up. The appointment for which she had arrived now at hand, Miss Tachibana rose from her chair in a somewhat obedient fashion and scooped up her sword, before pausing and turning her head toward Yumi with a smile. “It seems that I have places to be now, but… It was really nice to meet you, Yumi Tasukai. Thank you for the encouragement, and I hope that your own recovery goes as well as you wish mine to?” Bowing to the redhead quite courteously as she gave a stiff but sincere goodbye to the girl, Saya found herself feeling increasingly disappointed to have had a nice moment cut short. Casting a look over her shoulder as she reached the door because of an odd impulse to get one last look at Yumi before she parted her, after a short sigh Miss Tachibana smiled at the clerk who had summoned her and shuffled toward her session with a slight reluctance…

Yumi caught the woman creeping up on them a moment before she coughed, offering a nervous smile as she suddenly felt like she may be the reason this woman had to come over and get them directly like this. At least it wasn't her appointment she missed eh? As Saya had to leave Yumi offered her hand to shake and Saya, presumably, taking it, gave her own form of goodbye.
"Yeah, of course I hope it goes well.~ And thanks for the kind words too.~" Watching her head off, Yumi rested over the arm of her chair, wondering if the sword was even real or if it was like a comfort item of some sort. Whatever the case she gave a light shrug, smiling and waving as she peeked over her shoulder, before settling into a comfy corner of the seat, going a little quiet as she realized from a glance no one was going to be as chatty as Saya had been.
Not waiting too long for her own appointment, Yumi ended up having a long talk with her therapist as she usually did, Ko-ken even leaving the room briefly so they could talk about how she might rely on him a bit much, and how even if her confidence was fine with him there in the past, it may be best to try and be without him sometimes. She supposed this was true but also was worried Ko-ken would find it silly, or even take it as an insult.
Eventually all the same she was back out in town, debating flying directly towards home but she knew if she called out rodriguez where it was busy, his wings would cause a draft and bother some people, so she decided to at least walk out to the edge of the city first. Her eyes drifted about, blinking with some surprise as she caught a rather familiar shade of purple hair, thinking to hop over and ask how things went before she skipped town.

“Magikarp, you say…?” Knees and hips bent in order to give her wide eyes a better view of what sat in a tank in front of her, the session with Vivienne had long since ended as Saya gaped and stared at something with red scales and a golden ‘crown’ atop its head. “What’s this, Miss, you’ve never seen one before?” A man with a wispy moustache standing over the a counter that had been set atop a large, square box made of glass, he seemed to glance from side to side before leaning a little closer to the dark haired woman with something of a smirk as he sensed how naïve she was.
“Oh, yes, sort of. I have but where I come from they have a different name?” Miss Tachibana oblivious, however, to the signature scam of Magikarp Merchants, she smiled softly as she saw something that seemed to remind her of her home. The ‘Ōkoi’ something of a status symbol where she was from, Saya could remember seeing depictions of these majestic creatures on ornaments and items in her own home and had asked her father about them. “I’ve seen pictures of them…” Father telling her a few legends about these powerful fish that were the fiercest of the sea, it wasn’t unheard of for these potent river dwellers to lunge from the water and tackle birds of prey in order to protect their families. Said to be the spawn of the mythical carp with the head of a lion, all of the species were said to carry the strength and spirit of Sachihoko and to see one leap into a waterway near their home was said to be a sign of great fortune. That was, at least, how Saya’s people saw them. Verians might have had a rather different perspective indeed.
“But this is my first time ever seeing one in person! The images of them had them in gold and silver, but this redness like fire seems to suit such a mighty and majestic creature and only makes the crown atop its head appear even more fitting?” Reaching forwards with one of her hands and gently touching the cold glass in front of her, the grin of beauty with blue eyes grew broader as she traced one of her fingers along one of its whiskers, feeling connected to this creature because of the stories she had heard in her past.
“Then it’s definitely your lucky day, Miss!” The merchant before her practically rubbing his hands as the enchanted girl before him seemed to do half of his job for him, as Saya swooned over something that most trainers would likely have thrown back into the river in disgust, the girl remained oblivious to the fact that he was like a shark smelling blood in the water. “I managed to get my hands on this rare and beautiful specimen only recently, and he’s certainly full of health and vigour…” The man clapping his hands together as Saya straightened up, the perception that she could show seeming to have been blinded by wonder, she glanced between the merchant and his Magikarp as she was treated to the full ‘pitch’ of this conman.
“A strong fellow with fine features who is certain to breed equally powerful and attractive young, I’ve already had quite a bit of interest in him from private collectors and aquatic centres, I can tell you! However… Since I can tell that he likes you, and given how pretty your smile is, I’d be happy to let you take him home now for the low low price of let’s say… Five Hundred Mun? It isn’t much more than I spent to get my hands on this guy, but I’d be happy to make only a little on my investment for a woman as pretty as you are!” Waving and jabbing what seemed to be a folded up paper fan like a baton, the greedy crook continued at a steady but seemingly unstoppable pace, declaring a rather outrageous price on a fish that one would probably have been lucky to make more than five mun on. The nerve.
That would be a big chunk of the allowance that the league gives me, but for such a rare and mystical creature… It might be worth it? Saya however seeming to be taken in by his words like a fool at a county fair, the young woman looked again towards the fiery coloured fish and wondered if she should take him up on such an offer, hoping that possession of such an auspicious animal might help to bless the days she spent in this land?

Yumi may not have caught much of this guy's speal, but she caught enough to catch the gist. Ugh, where people still running that dumb Magikarp scam? Ah well...he at least seemed to have picked a poor target. That scam only tended to work on ten year olds who were going on a pokemon journey for the first time ever. Why would someone like Saya, who, despite her actual age that Yumi didn't know, looked almost as mature, if not older than herself, fall for such a trick like this?
Wait...was...was she actually considering it...? Yumi couldn't be sure but she seemed to be lingering there for a while and...right. Right. She hinted that she was suffering from amnesia so of course she...ah fuck this guy maybe had gotten a lucky mark...the tugging from Ko-ken on her sleeve told her that she should get moving but...
"Er...excuse me?" Calling over to the two of them, Yumi raved an arm to grab some attention, smiling a little more nervously at the other girl. "Hi, nice to see you again. Don't mind me just erm..." Her eyes turned back to the scam artist and narrowed her eyes, looking over the Magikarp he was offering. "500 muns? For that? Really?
"Heh...back off. The lass is interested so why don't you-" The scammer was clearly trying to hold onto his mark, only for Yumi to show confidence she wouldn't believe she had later as she crossed her arms and fronted up. "Why don't I go catch her one and charge her, what, the 5 mun for the Pokeball? Catch it from the pond in the park? Why don't I?"
Yumi shifted her gaze to Saya, sighing quietly. "Sorry...if it isn't clear he's taking you for a ride. Those things are more common than leaves on trees."

“Oh, it’s Yumi-san?” The eyes of Miss Tachibana lighting up as a familiar looking redhead called out and waved toward her, for a moment she completely misinterpreted the approach of the woman with whom she had waited. “I am glad to see you again!” Having peeked into the waiting room once her appointment had been finished to see if the girl was still there but been disappointed, Saya was pleased to see the Yumi again, but would be even more grateful when her fledgling level friend appeared to come to her aid.
Charge me five mun for one? Taking me for a ride? Blinking in surprise as the scarlet maned mistress set upon the merchant with a fiery fervour that appeared to make her apparent lack of confidence something of a non-issue, while at first Saya was a little bit puzzled by the exchange the guilty reaction of the man seemed something even she could not ignore.
“H-Hey now, Miss, if you want to g-give away such a bargain, I can’t stop you… B-But this Magikarp is certainly a special find, I-I assure you!” Suddenly the confidence that he had shown in trying to compel the Saya seeming to ebb away now that he had been rumbled by a redhead, with hands stretched out in front of him and his voice shaking, the merchant seemed far less convincing in what he said. Miss Tachibana’s brow tightening as she looked at the man and saw that he was starting to sweat, with the assistance of Yumi she was starting to suspect that what was before her wasn’t the bargain that she had been led to believe, and with a swift and fluid motion drew her blade.
“Yumi-san, is it true? Is this knave attempting to swindle me?” The steel that she carried flashing in the light before becoming a beam of shining silver pointed from her hand and right at the nose of the Magikarp Merchant, in an instant Saya’s character had seemed to turn from sweet and ladylike to something with far more severity. “Such dishonourable methods will not go unpunished.” The soft smile she tried to wear seemingly absent and in its place a frown, the blue eyes of the beauty looked like ice as she stared at the man in an unflinching fashion, as if she was trying to pierce his body with her gaze before following up with the tip of her sword.
