The Springening Continues
Talk To Me
The results of the Talking and Telepathy Interest Check are in, with one strikingly clear result and one very mixed one.
Regarding Talking Pokemon: A majority is in favor of allowing it to some degree, but over a third of members who voted don't want it at all. The most popular option among those who do want it is to be very rare/limited, which feels like the best compromise for those who don't care for it, too. HOWEVER, we are also hesitant to add a new mechanic that so many don't care for knowing it would be much harder to take back. So right now we're going to count the decision as "pending", and in a few months we'll have another poll on it to see if interest has increased, decreased, or remained pretty steady, and then go from there.
Regarding Telepathy: Merciful Arceus you guys love Lucario, don't you? Starting today, all Psychic-type Pokemon are capable of learning Telepathy, and a list of select others will be added to the Guidebook in the Setting tab with other Pokemon special power info very soon.
If the Pokemon doesn't have it as an Ability, you must use the new Telepathy 101 Ticket teach it "Telepathy" in a move slot. This thread will be updated tonight or tomorrow to exchange the tickets, similar to the Catch Ticket redemption thread. The thread will also contain the list of non-Psychic Pokemon who are viable.
Rapid-Fire Notes
- No commitments yet, but we may be moving the end date of the Easter and Star Festival events to May 31st. With recent events we know how it may have drained muse, and we'd like everyone to get the full experience they can. This is not confirmed, and please plan all threads and posts in relation to these events to at least start by May 15th. By then we'll have a second announcement making our decision clear once Staff is all together to agree on it.
- A small update that was actually implemented a few weeks back but we forgot to announce: Professor slots on-site have been bumped up from 5 to 10. However, new Professors must have a specific plot goal in mind with their research. It doesn't necessarily need to be big or have ooc effects, but it should be something to incorporate their studies into their story beyond simply saying they study their field.
- The Easter Shop is now open! Remember, Easter festivities and the Star Festival both last until May 15 at 11:59pm Verian time. Afterward, Eggs found can still be exchanged in the shop until people run out of eggs. While no new SF threads will be able to be made after the 15th, existing SF threads can continue earning prizes until May 31, so be sure to start any threads you want to do sooner than later.
- The May Activity Check is up.
- We apologize for Shadow Pokemon still being delayed; 3 out of 4 staff have been really busy for school-related reasons and the other has been struggling for other reasons. But good news: it's actually mostly done now. We just need to do some final polishing and get dice for "Frenzy Mode" (combining aspects of Hyper Mode and Reverse Mode) added to the die roller.
- The Feedback Thread is always open, too, so feel free to let us know any thoughts!
SWARMS
Hmm... Fighting-types and Grass-types this month, eh? What semi-witty anecdote can we come up with... Allergies. These swarms are clearly in honor of fighting allergies.
PHARAOH LEAP.
