Open | It was peaceful in the gardens. Though not as calming and beautiful as some of the more natural gardens he had visited in his lifetime, it was still one of his favorite places to visit. He always felt at peace with himself whenever he visited them. The clam and quiet helped him clearly without interruption while his Pokemon were free to enjoy the plants and 'fresh' air. At times, he'd even forget he was still on a massive train heading down the same trail it had been traveling on for years. Not that Hades disliked his home. It was a place of constant change and he loved that about the place. It gave him the chance to see new places, meet new pokemon and most importantly, he saw new faces. There was always something new happening. Always some sort of a new story around every corner, and Hades could spend a lifetime sucking it all in. Sometimes, however, relaxing in the quiet was nice too.
So, Hades had headed up to the gardens, finding his favorite spot under a large oak tree. It was perfect because a small, white painted bench sat underneath it. A few bushes had been planted around the bench, which over the years had grown tall enough that the bench was often missed by people walking by unless someone was already sitting in it. It meant it was often empty which Hades took advantage of. Just like today, he usually brought a small pillow and book along with him. The pillow was sat on the bench to help keep his bottom from getting sore while he indulged himself in his book.
He had been reading for about an hour before he set the book away, lifting his eyes to look up at the tree branches above him. He had been hoping to see Jaye, his Altaria, somewhere in thick greenary but the Pokemon was not there. He was likely in one of the nearby trees either napping or playing with some other bird Pokemon living in the gardens. Mavi was lying in the grass beside Hades pretending to sleep, though Hades knew if a stranger was to approach them, the Glaceon would peek an eye open. Which was exactly what happened the moment Hades glanced down at the Pokemon. His little head popped up, ears lifting as his dark blue eyes darted around. A small twitch could be seen in the one ear as he tried to listen for whatever had him on alert. It had caused Hades to shake his head lightly, a soft, rutin smile slipping onto his features.
"Relax, Mavi," Hades soft voice hummed just barely over a whisper, "other people live on this train too."

The source of the nearest sounds came into view not long after Hades reassured his Glaceon. As luck would have it, a local trainer who Hades may or may not recognize was on a walk with their Leafeon, who trotted with a bouncy but not overly excited gait. He walked a bit faster than his trainer, and as such moved around to examine different smells and sights rather than following a straight path.
Kiran followed at a more leisurely pace behind. The tight black tank top they wore was cool enough for the day especially given the greenhouse temperature tended to stay cooler than outside, and its gold trim and showing off of a bit of flat midriff appealed to their sense of aesthetic well, but it was also just tight enough to make breathing a bit more intensive than it could have been. So jogging or other heavy activities were out of the question even if they weren't just a general wimp with no stamina, ha.
As they moved closer, Glen caught sight of the Glaceon, pausing for a moment before wagging their tail and starting to approach, happily but hesitantly, as if asking if it was okay.
Another few steps behind, Kiran's "skirt?" (long loincloth-like fabric?)-- matching their tank and worn over white leggings-- swayed as they walked. Such eccentric attire may or may not have been cosplay, incidentally. But was it an obscure character? An OC? Likely only Kiran knew.
Soon enough, though, they noticed the change in Glen's behavior, and followed his gaze to see the Glaceon and trainer. A tiny 'ah', more of a light gasp than a word, escaped them as they weakly waved at the Eon. Bad choice in evo, all things considered, but better than Flareon, and they could appreciate running into any Eevee form while walking with one of their own. The trainer did not get so much attention, but oh well.

Open | Almost on as if on cue, the Leafeon came into view seconds after Hades had told his Glaceon to relax. Mavi was the first to notice to notice the Leaf as Hades had still been concentrated on his Pokemon. The lean ice type simply replied with a huff, a disgusted look appearing. The moment he realized the other Pokemon was heading his way, he folded his arms in front of him and lifted his nose in the air. It was a gesture Hades was used to see as the Pokemon had a problem with disdain that Hades had yet to correct, if ever. In a way, it was slightly amusing. It also came in handy at times as he only stuck his nose up in their air when a stranger or someone he didn’t like was nearby.
The nose flip had warned Hades enough to cause his gaze to lift, first noticing the Leafeon. His eyes hadn’t stopped on the Pokemon and instead lifted further to notice the green haired being. Though he recognized them as someone who also lived upon the train, Hades had never actually spoken to them. Aside from his clients and the odd person who would say hello, he had never really made an effort to talk to others who had made up residence in Sinclair. He preferred to watch and listen to people over actually conversing with them.
“I do apologize,” The words were just as soft as they had been when he spoke to his Glaceon moments ago, however it was slightly raised for the other being to hear. “I’m afraid Mavi can be slightly standoffish around… well just about anyone, but deep down he is a big softy.” Hades’s eyes had dropped to the Pokemon when he began to speak. Near the end of his explanation, he had lifted them back up to the trainer offering another gentle smile. Navi didn’t seem bothered by Hades’s apology, his nose still lifted to the sky as he eyed the grass type. Despite not being much a battler, the ice type still thought he was better than everyone else.

"Mm?" Kiran looked up as they were addressed with... an apology? For a brief moment bitter assumptions flew through their head, but it soon proved nothing of the sort. Ahh..
Kiran shook their head a little, then shrugged lightly. They didn't like strangers much either, heh. Who were they to judge the Glaceon?
Glen, however, was hurt. He just wanted to say hello, and maybe play. How could the Glaceon be so--... Okay 'cold' was a bad choice of words but shoosh! Maybe he just... needed to be more persuasive? More charming? He spun about in place, summoning a little shooting star briefly above his head to convey his Wish to be friends.
Kiran, who would have been content to keep moving, frowned and sighed lightly. They made a weak apologetic noise, not quite a word, as they averted their gaze and rubbed their neck.

| It seemed the stranger wasn’t much of a talker. Not that it bothered Hades. He hadn’t come to the garden to talk to people. He had been there for the solitude it offered, giving him a chance to read in peace without being cramped in his small living quarters. Not that it mattered if someone broke that solitude. He enjoyed watching people, even if those people were involving him.
So instead of bothering himself with the lack of conversation from the green haired stranger, Hades allowed his golden eyes to drop back down to the Pokémon. Navi was still sitting there was his nose stubbornly held in the air. He didn’t seem at all impressed with the other eeveelution. Even as the other Pokémon spun around and summed a shooting star above its head. Hades actually found the actions of the other Pokémon quite amusing. Most Pokémon reacted to Navi’s smugness by either brushing him off or confusion. This Leafeon seemed eager to not give up.
Navi, on the other hand, was not impressed which was clearly shown by his posture and the look on his face. He had raised a ‘brow’ at the other Pokémon. After a few seconds of simply staring at Glen, Navi gave a small shrug of his shoulders and looked away. It took more than a shooting star to become his friend. So, suddenly, cleaning himself seemed more important and lifted his right paw to lick at it before running the paw over his ears and repeating.
“Navi,” Hades shook his head and let out a small sigh, “you shouldn’t be so rude. At least say hello.” His trainer’s words had caused the Pokémon to pause, glancing up for a moment before turning two slightly angry eyes back to the other Pokémon. He glared for a moment before letting out a snort and returning to his stubborn posture.

As the Glaceon became more adamant, Kiran didn't know whether to be amused or embarrassed or something else entirely. Some part of them took the snubbing of one of their Pokemon a little personally. Another part found this Glaceon hilariously relatable. Depending on which side they let have more influence in a given moment, their thoughts on the situation fluctuated back and forth. Should they see where this went or try to drag Glen along?
Glen was appalled, then briefly hopeful when the trainer piped up. When the Glaceon just glared and snubbed him harder, though, he huffed.. then thought. O-okay! If he was that type maybe winning his respect was better than trying to be nice? He took an aggressive stance and yipped tauntingly, asking if the Glaceon wanted to fight.
Ajiawjijfaiow -- "Glen no." Kiran fumbled, grabbing the scruff of the Leafeon's neck to pull him back, only to remember PokeBalls were more effective and-- right, right. They started patting their pockets with one hand looking for that as the other held the Leafeon, who had quickly calmed and now just looked sad, puppy eyes included, not that Kiran noticed. "Sorry. Sorry.." they mumbled, not looking at anyone in particular.

| The Glaceon had actually been slightly shocked when the Leafeon decided to take on an aggressive stance. He hadn’t been expecting it from the other Pokémon having already determined that he was a playful child. Though Navi didn’t want to battle the other Pokemon, it had perked his interests. Once more, he had lifted a brow at the Pokemon only to watch as its trainer grabbed him up by the scruff of the neck. The action confused Navi. His own trainer had never done that before. In fact, his own trainer seemed reluctant to touch him without him first engaging it. Although, he supposed he shouldn’t be too surprised about that. If there was one thing he knew strongly about his trainer, it was that he was very different from many of the other humans. He never did understand why, but in truth, he never really cared much either. His trainer was who he was and that was good enough for Navi.
“No, it’s alright, um… here,” Hades seemed to be a tad shocked as well, though, for him, it was nothing more than a façade. He turned slightly to set his book carefully on the bench beside him before standing himself up. The smile on his lips lightened some and instead of offering a hand in greeting, he gave a small bow of his head. “I’m Doctor Hadrianus Demos or Hades if you prefer not to remember such a long name.” He offered a small chuckle after that explanation, his body straightening once more. Though the being in front of him didn’t seem to be much of a talker, Hades always found that the best way to break the ice was to introduce one’s self. After all, a name was what gave everyone a sense of identity, as odd as Hades found it. To him, names were a fickle thing that could be changed easily, especially with the internet and how easy it was to make a new identity for yourself.
Navi had followed his trainers lead, though he didn’t bow. Instead, he stood near the grass type, his head tilted slightly to look up at the Pokémon. It seemed he was being slightly less stuck up than he had been a few moments ago.

What?? Oh no. Glen look what you did. Now a human was talking to Kiran and the expectation to return conversation was there, this was horrible. Thanks a lot you big dumb goofball who they couldn't actually be too mad at because they were a good grassy baby but still.
"Uhhh... um." Kiran stared at the hand a little too long before finally taking it, well after the little mini-bow and introduction. "Kiran. Chandra," they finally replied as they stiffly shook it. "I'm uh... the Grass Gym Leader here in Sinclair. .... If you didn't know..."
Glen grew excited for a moment as Navi finally seemed to lighten up, only to then sit back and tilt his head. He guessed.. this didn't really count if he was only nice because his trainer said so, though, huh... "...Feon," he vaguely apologized for bothering the Glaceon.
