{Mission Details} Mission name: Heating Up Participants: Seraph and Nox Korrik Catching?: No Spawning: 4 challenges to overcome dealing with a wildfire on the job as rangers. Ex: putting out flames, helping injured Pokemon, calming panicked Pokemon, digging trenches, etc. At least one should be saving or evacuating people. WC-based OR possibly NPC if you feel like it. Mission details: Pretty straightforward. Nox and Seraph get sent out to deal with a field fire in the outskirts of Alterna as part of their job. They have to make sure damage is minimalized and no one gets hurt. Reward: One of the people they help is an old woman who was quite the trainer in her day. She's so grateful she offers to teach the two young men about Z-Knowledge. As Seraph arrived at today's assigned outpost, he found himself a bit lost in thought. He was on standby for the day, doing chores around the outpost, taking any rare calls they might receive, and most importantly being available for immediate response or backup should anything go wrong in this part of the region. Most such days were pretty uneventful, however, so he was considering trying to squeeze in some coordination practice with his Pokemon later. Hm... He would be snapped out of his reverie, though, when he entered the building and noticed a coworker already there. "Oh hey." He'd seen this guy in passing before, but didn't think they'd ever had the chance to really talk or anything. "You're ah... Nox, right? Korrik?"

Seraph BenoitNox looked up from the report he was working on when someone addressed him, tha Absol resting at his feet did the same. He recalled having seen his fellow ranger around but they had never spoken. They'd never been assigned to the same jobs and, as far as Nox knew, lived in different cities which meant they were rarely even at the same outposts half the time so they hadn't had much opportunity to talk. "Yeah, I'm Nox. You're...Seraph if I'm not mistaken?" He was pretty sure that was the other ranger's name. Nox was pretty good with faces and Seraph stood out to him more than most due to his hair color. It wasn't often he met someone who had red and green hair, after all. He was also young which was surprising given the nature of the work rangers were sometimes called to do. But as long as the boy was capable of handling it, that was all that really mattered in the end. "I'm just finishing up a report on an incident in the Liggs Mine but after that I guess we're just supposed to be making sure the outpost is still standing when the other rangers return." Alterna was pretty quiet so Nox didn't really expect to have to do much aside from field a few calls and finish some paperwork he'd been neglecting.

Seraph nodded. "That's right. Seraph Benoit~" He did wonder if Nox only knew him the same way Seraph knew Nox, or if he had any familiarity with him as a coordinator, but based on that hesitation he was leaning toward the prior? Which was fine, of course, just idle curiosity.
"Yeah. Oughtta be a slow day," he said. "My reports are all done--" prompt as usual-- "so I can work on some chores around here while you finish that." Red eyes glanced around a bit before moving back to Nox. "After that, maybe wanna... hang out a bit? Not that I'd encourage goofing off if you've got anything else to do, but well..~ Teambuilding is important too, yeah?" He flashed a cheesy grin.
He really did want to make more Ranger friends in general, to be honest. He'd been so close to a lot of coworkers back in Johto, but being out on jobs didn't afford much time for chitchat, and a lot of the folks he'd been assigned with since coming to Veria were stuffy boring types, older folks he had trouble relating to, flaky newbies who didn't last long, etc. And then there were the days he got assigned to work with Dad, wherein everything was fun or infuriating with little in between, and more and more of the latter lately. Like thanks for not being transphobic, Dad, but did you have to be a huge sexist prick? No wonder Tommy always struggled more in training if this was the level of double standard. But hey, forget about all that, today Seraph might get to chill with someone who had at least some chance of being actually cool so fingers crossed.
