Muse was usually more of a solitary person when at home, but her status of Gym Leader somewhat dictated that she have more to do with the public than merely accepting the occasional challenge. And since she wasn't traveling today, nor did she have any plans, the red-haired woman decided to partake in her gym's public facilities as opposed to the private, enclosed training ground she had in the back.
However some things never changed. She was in public, so she was still dressed nice, today opting for a purple jacket over a crimson top, coupled with a black skirt and tennis shoes(one's feet had to be comfortable, after all.)
The training area was enclosed, an addition to the former skating rink that now served as her Gym. The area itself had a pool just large enough for water-types to relax in, various targets to practice everything from ranged attacks to tackles, and overhead rings for flying types to practice their agility.
Speaking of, overhead a Shiny Veriant Noctowl flew overhead, weaving seamlessly in and out of the rings, before swooping down and landing seamlessly at his trainer's side. Meanwhile, a lone Shellder was in the pool area, watching. A shiny bottle cap was tied to its shell, a good luck charm, so to speak.
A smirk crossed Muse's lips as she looked around. She really wasn't used to training where someone could possibly see her, but thankfully it wasn't very crowded today. Besides, she was quickly learning the importance of public image. While the 'cold, heartless shrew' thing worked back home, here in Veria she was supposed to be more of a role model.

As Mason entered the building, he mused on just how strange some of the customs of this land were. While in his world combat was a necessity of survival, here people commanded beasts to battle for them as a kind of sport. It would even be broadcast to the public as a spectacle of strength, but nowhere had he seen anybody use the beast's power against another person. It was something that he hypothesised came from not ever needing to go to the extremes his people were driven to, the inclination towards more dubious acts not developing.
Another odd custom was that of 'Gyms', establishments created purely to develop the skill of the beasts and their tamers, as well as challenge those who were apparently the greatest of their kind. The fact that the animals could grow in power in such a way baffled him, when power levels were just a number based on how much was put into them at creation. It intrigued him so much in fact that when he heard of them he just had to visit one, and so here he was in a gym situated in the city of Aleal.
Striding into the training area he noticed a woman already at work, a bird like beast flying through the air before landing close to her. It looked to be a variant of one that he had already observed, potentially a mutation caused by the rather drastic conditions in the area. Moving closer he would try and get her attention before speaking. "My pardon madam, but I was hoping you could aid me. I'm not quite certain how things work around here." Playing the nice guy would give him a better chance of getting help, plus it wasn't hard to play nice with an attractive woman. To aid with his efforts he manipulated his aura just the slightest bit in an attempt to have her feel more relaxed.
