Roxanne is very short, barely touching 4'5". Not helping her be taken seriously are her round features and a deep dependence on the "prosthetic" cat-like ears and tail she wears for comfort. She has slightly tanned to her skin, hinting towards a life of outdoor adventure. Her hair is a rose grey colour. Inquisitive blue monolid eyes peeking out under the mess of medium to medium long hair. She has a heavy smattering of freckles dusting her cheeks. History
Once upon a time, in a land where superpowers and experimental science ran rampant, there was a magnificent and brilliant scientist named Francis Coldwell. One day he realized this feeling for a colleague was love. He decided to show his affections in a most decisive way. Regardless of her being in a relationship with an up and coming actress. He found his way to her home and grabbed her most beloved things from her apartment. A hairbrush, her diary, her Siamese cat. He didn’t really need the brush and the diary, just the hair and the information. But use them he did. Along with the knowledge of years of genetic research, he combined them into an adorable baby girl.
He was immediately jailed not only for gross misappropriations of government funding, but obscene animal abuse, breaking and entering, grand larceny and stalking as well. All his work was destroyed. Except for one. Deemed a mere fantasy, they never could find proof past the scientist's word that such a thing even existed. Roxanne was that lab experiment, left on a porch with a note explaining her story. Thankfully, she was adopted by the kind-hearted occupants, a pair of scientists with a history of working with her scientifically-made kind, for lack of better terminology.
Roxanne’s adopted parents, well-studied scientists of the highest (at least in their own minds) caliber, made sure she followed suit and had access to the latest in all matters of scientific studies and various kinds of literature. To further round out her knowledge in more than brainy ways, they enrolled her in ballet classes, an intense physical class.. Instead, this would wind up teaching her a lot about the pain of being an outcast, exposing her to harsh criticisms for her looks and even her cat-like gracefulness, which many of the classmates accused of being “unnatural”. She eventually dropped out of ballet, despite her deep love of it, unable to handle the snide comments and relentless cruelty from students and parents alike.
Since Roxanne’s feline features clearly showing her "scientific" origins, this led to a lonely childhood. Not many people cared for her as a person, viewing her as nothing more than a “fanciful” beast not worthy of respect or dignity. Her only friends were a pair of brothers whose dad was friends with her two fathers. She happened to have a deep crush on one of the two boys. They were able to bond over shared difficulties with relating to others, a deep love of books and a “feeling” of being weird, even though he looked more “normal” on the outside. With time, a simple friendship turned into a more defined and much more romantic relationship.
With his faithful support, Roxanne gained the courage to fully follow her hidden dream of being a supervillain, an idea she had entertained for some time. Her dreams of becoming a ballerina were dashed early, as were any hopes of being a veterinarian, having been informed that “nobody wants their vet to look like their pet” dashing that dream soundly. Her “final” chance to be successful (or respected), she feels fated to be “no more” than a supervillain, her dark origins adding to that feeling.
As she started pursuing that path, it seemed that things were finally taking a turn for the better. Then a machine malfunctioned and sent the hapless cat girl spiraling into an alternate dimension. To make matters worse, it mirrored Roxanne’s homeworld with differences that ended up causing long-lasting consequences. People claiming to be her friends turned out to only want to use her to further their own selfish desires and potential monetary gains. Roxanne spent almost a year in this dimension, enduring personal hells and more. A friend from her home realm managed to find her and rescued her with mystical means.
However, when she came back, Roxanne was not the same. With the memories of the other dimension still clear in her mind, Roxanne developed PTSD along with a deep distrust of everything and everyone who "claimed" to care for her. Being told nothing but self-serving lies destroyed her own sense of self, leading to serious self-doubts that she can’t seem to shake no matter how hard she tries.
Roxanne made drastic changes to her life, both needed and unneeded upon her return. Getting back into the swing of things, she focused solely on becoming the best super-villain she could. She then broke up with her boyfriend, convinced that she was only using him for her own nefarious motives. She refused to explain why she broke up with him or tell anybody what happened to her the other dimension. Something that was obviously connected to her family.
With some time, the questions stopped. People figured Roxanne was starting to heal on her own. She even started to grow attached to a new recruit she was assigned to train named Dawson Doppelganger. It appeared maybe things were getting back on track for Roxanne. One night, she took an impromptu stroll around her city. Roxanne’s wandering lead to an abandoned building that seemed to call to her. Upon opening the door, Roxanne suddenly found herself being pulled into an indescribable light. The next thing she knew, she was waking up with only a vague sense of loss and confusion.
Her history from her perspective is hazy at best. Roxanne’s earliest clear memory is of waking in a nondescript field, a strange pair of beasts staring at her. She stumbled her way towards civilization, the two beasts guiding her way with helpful directions. With their guidance, Roxanne made it to Thankfully, the place she found was something called a Pokemon center. Somewhere where the beasts that found her go to get healed after engaging in battles. Her horror was assured away, being told that the Pokemon battle for fun, and never stay injured for long.
After getting some much-needed clothing and rest, she started piecing things together. She decided her name was Roxanne Doppelganger was the best fit for her, having a familiar, almost comforting, ring to her. The Pokemon center she managed to make her way to gave her “complimentary” Pokeballs for her newfound companions, who she found out was an outgoing “Alolan” Vulpix and a rather aloof Cubone. She nicknamed the Cubone, Dawnie, and the Vulpix, Sybel, names they agreed upon.
She was dubbed a “Fallen” which Roxanne took with a heavy pinch of salt. Being informed by a “crazy” wandering fortune teller that she “had fallen away from home” and “her spirit is not of this region nor realm” did nothing to help her skepticism. Needless to say, she didn't believe a word of it, even with no clear memories of her past. (this jumps from talking about the fortune teller to prosthetic cat ears. Maybe explain how she found them and they just Felt Right?) And needing “prosthetic” cat ears and tail to feel normal. Almost like she used to be more feline in nature and can’t remember.
She managed to secure part-time work at a cafe nearby a town called Carrefor and is gathering information and resources to become a Coordinator, an occupation that caught her attention after catching the tail end of a performance. The mesmerizing routine of the Pokemon, combined with the quiet grace of the Coordinator unburied a hidden longing within her.

She can 'read' Pokemon's body language to a degree it is almost like she is able to read minds. Actually, that is exactly what it is, but only based around Pokemon. She is mostly untrained, and this skill was part of why she picked to live in a place like Carrefor, a place that is low on the population scale from what she was able to figure.
She can hear even unfamiliar Pokemon fairly well most of the time, if not in exact words then usually about like understanding a paragraph through skimming. Her own Pokemon can communicate very clearly and effectively.

Roxanne wiped her brow as a heavy sigh escaped her. She readjusted her ears and tail. She used a nearby puddle to make sure they are straight when a noise caught her attention. It dawned on her it was a voice, meaning it was a person. Or a very smart Pokemon. Her eyes darted to her belt, making sure her companions were close at hand. Just in case.
She whipped her head around, curious. She realized that the voice is clearly talking to her, nobody else nearby. Something she was used to. It was kind of nice having somebody to talk to, even if it was just to direct them back to the main roads.
“Hi! My name is Roxanne. Roxanne Doppelganger.”
Roxx offered her hand, making sure it was clean first, doing her best to be friendly to the stranger. She made sure to have her friendliest smile in place.
“Who are you? You don’t look like you are from around here. It’s rather obvious.”
