Adrian GideonJemma had three little Pokemon that really were difficult to find possible targets to train up against. First was Misty, the shiny Budew that she'd had for years. She had battled before, but it was still a very difficult task. Second was Pinpin, the sweet little Combee she had gained from a breeder back in her home country. Third was her Sewaddle, a newly-caught and unnamed little cutie. So she decided she would bring them all out in order to do some battle-less training to get them on their way toward evolution. Just in case they did come across some Pokemon, she brought them to Sinclair City, into the meadows near the gardens. PinPin had Gust, so the bug-types could be held off and everyone had something to deter grass-types, which were the majority in this area. Once she found a good spot to set up, she released the three little Pokemon. Misty exclaimed her glee, PinPin buzzed excitedly, and the newcomer looked a bit shell shocked. The blonde chuckled and leaned down in front of him. "That's Misty," she pointed, to which the little bud unwound her "hands" to wave one at him, "and that's PinPin." The bee smiled and bobbed in the air a little. The Sewaddle gazed at them a moment before smiling and expressing his happiness at meeting them. "Good. Now... we do need to think of a name for you, don't we?" The dual type looked up at her curiously as she hummed in thought. "Hmm... I think Avery is good. What do you think?" He thought about it for a moment before nodding, pleased with the idea. "Fantastic! All right, so let's try something." Moving over to the things she brought, she pulled out a mannequin looking thing. Just a human-like torso that she set directly on the ground. "I didn't have anything better... but I just want to say that I don't encourage any of you to ever attack a human unless in defense. This is just to help us learn. So, try to hit it. Any move; whatever you think will be easiest." All three Pokemon looked a little confused, but Misty stepped up to the plate. She created a ball of black and purple energy to throw at it. Not the most accurate attempt, but she did manage to hit the shoulder. The target wobbled a little before righting itself. Jemma expressed delight at how the mannequin staying upright. "All right, who's next?" Both PinPin and Avery looked a little concerned, but the Sewaddle decided to encourage the bee by moving up to the target and using Bug Bite. Jemma grinned at how well the training dummy was working and as Avery was moving away, PinPin got up the courage to get the wind up, using Gust on the thing. "Great! This will help us get you ready for battles. I know you three aren't the strongest right now, but our aim is to change that, right?" The three Pokemon expressed their excited agreement, much to their human's delight.

He was doing a pretty good job of minding his own business in Sinclair. He was there for a break, and his fatigue was more visible than a neon sign against a giant, black wall. The bags under his eyes were prominent as he strode through the streets, still carrying his self tall despite the aching need to simply kick back on a nearby bench and take a nap.
It wasn't until someone cursed him for nearly bumping into them that he decided some coffee would be his next best move. Luckily, it didn't take him long to acquire some over sugared coffee and start making his way back through the city. It wasn't until he heard the noises of some training that he stopped. Both eyebrows raised, he shrugged his shoulders and decided to go check out what had been happening.
When he came around a corner, his face instantly fell into a deadpan stare as he watched bug types openly attack a human like dummy. "You know, hun, it's usually not that great of an idea to train your pokemon against human like dummies." He sighed out the last part as he moved a bit closer. While keeping a respectful enough distance, he bent down at the waist and dropped his ass to his heels, looking at the bug types a good distance in front of them.
"Bugs are notoriously poisonous, most have some sort of toxin, venom, poison or whatever, you name it. I wouldn't train them against anything human like. It may create a subconscious 'ok' to attack a human just cause they don't like them." Sighing again, he stood up to his full height and tossed the empty cup into a garbage can across the way. "Ah, well. May as well introduce myself. I am Adrian Gideon and consider this some sort of slop job offer."
Making a motion towards the dummy, he gave it a disgusted face. "I believe it'd be healthier and more efficient to offer Scolopocryptopidae, my Scolipede or Noctuidae, my Volcarona as a sort of 'punching bag' for your Pokemon to practice on." Of course, it'd be unethical for his Pokemon to strike back out of the blue, but these two were pretty well trained to withstand blows, simply for the sake of raising smaller bugs in undesirable training seasons.

The woman actually jumped a bit when she heard a voice. Misty did too, but the other two Pokemon simply turned to look at him. Jemma turned, brows furrowed with concern as the man spoke. The Budew scuttled over to hide behind her trainer's legs. This caused a small smile to appear and the blonde simply looked at the other human and nodded her head softly. "Of course you're right. I just didn't really have anything else. I don't really think my Pokemon would attack a human, but better to not even tempt them," she agreed as she knelt down to pick up Misty.
"I'm Jemma Crawford. This is Misty, the Combee is PinPin, and the Sewaddle is a new addition to my group named Avery." Once the introductions were through, she considered his offer a moment. "I'm fine with... you helping. I'd feel a little bad about having my Pokemon attack yours if they can't retaliate, but... you must have them well-trained!" She smiled at this and giggled softly. She did have one other concern: that her Pokemon would be too afraid to attack the much-bigger Pokemon but they'd cross that bridge when they came to it. Then she'd ask for his opinion, "So... Misty has battled before, but these other two haven't really done much -- at least not with me, other than me capturing Avery -- so who do you think we should focus on working with first?" He seemed to know what he was talking about! Surely he'd have some kind of suggestion.

Raising his eyebrows, he decided it best not to comment on how it could've been literally any other shape, but that's only a part of the point. There was no better training than practicing on the real deal. The real thing doesn't even have to hit you back for you to learn something about it. With a motion of his hand, he waved off a thought and shook his own head in disapproval at said thought.
"Well, Ms. Crawford, I can assure you that you will be proven correct. They have been trained strenuously and assist my other Pokemon with training themselves." With his eyebrows raised once again, he looked at the shiny Budew, then to the Combee and the Sewaddle. "I would say to start with PinPin. Combee are versatile as is, with a broad set of moves. But their true potential shines as they grow larger. If you are aiming for Vespiquen, that is."
Just for safety from being poisoned, Addy decided their best bet would be to pit the smaller pokemon against the Scolipede. He was large and built, Adrian's first pokemon, truth be told. He had the most experience. Grabbing the appropriate ball, he casually tossed it out to the side, giving plenty of distance for the Pokemon to land without startling the more shy of the lady's Pokemon. Well... startle them as little as possible. "Scolopocryptopidae it is. You can use any part of his name for reference and he'll respond. Scolo being the most popular, it seems." Unless you were his uncle. His uncle seemed to take an insane amount of joy out of calling him 'crypt'.

Jemma's head tilted slightly at his actions, but once he started talking again, she smiled and nodded in understanding. "I would certainly like for PinPin to evolve and I believe she wants to as well," she'd express. The Combee buzzed at the conversation but gawked at the new "target" she was given. She zipped over to hide behind her human, to which the blonde giggled. Avery, on the other hand, just gazed in awe up at the bigger bug-type. Misty was somewhere between shock and awe. Scolopocryptopidae was certainly an impressive specimen but... meep.
"Hello, Scol," she'd greet the Pokemon. "Come on now, PinPin. They're here to help us. He's not going to hurt you." The bee hesitantly hovered out and gazed at the Scolipede carefully. Then she'd slowly move out in front of Jemma, who gave a smile. "PinPin knows how to use Sweet Scent, Bug Buzz, Bug Bite, and Gust all with some proficiency. Let's start off with Bug Bite," she gave the order and the little flyer darted toward the poison-type, nipping at him. Of course it wouldn't hurt him much, but the whole purpose was to train the move and get used to it.
"Any suggestions to make her attack better?" Jemma clearly wasn't sure how to improve such a straight-forward attack. It was just... biting. How could she do better?

Adrian crossed his arms and simply observed as she spoke to her Pokemon, nodding his head when she mentioned that PinPin at least knew her moves with some level of proficiency. Good, that means Scolopocryptopidae wouldn't be entirely bored with today's new thing.
Addy's face turned to match his Scolipede's constant expression when the bug bite was used. He quickly changed the expression though when he was asked how to improve the attack. "Well, it is rather straight forward, but just like real bugs, bug-type Pokemon thrive best off of aiming for soft spots but can't take too much of a hit. The pain they can afflict makes up for their lacking of defense. Take Scolo for example. All that red you see is a tough exoskeleton, but if you bite for his lower neck and chest, you'll be biting him in the best possible place. It's the most tender and it's the hardest for him to reach. Think of it like a real bee. Sting and bite where the opponent can't reach and is at their most vulnerable."
After another moment of consideration, he added "Sometimes damage has to be sacrificed for safety. Say you're stuck fighting a Golem, Rhydon, Donphan or other similar Pokemon. Your best bet is to aim where they can't reach rather than the softest spot on their body. So just make sure PinPin knows her best angles to strike with Physical attacks. She does have the advantage of flight, which is better than most."

After listening to all this, Jemma had a look of concentration on her face. That did make sense. Gosh, she was a terrible trainer. Then again, she was only a civilian and the Pokemon were generally meant more for companionship so this whole thing with training was entirely new to her. Eventually she nodded her head in understanding. "That makes perfect sense. Hopefully I'd never have to put PinPin against a tough Pokemon like that, but knowing how best to handle the situation if I had to is... Well, let me just say I'm grateful for the lessons."
With a smile, she'd nod to the Combee. "Try it out. Bug Bite again, but aim for a tender spot." The bee looked toward Scolo and then turned toward Jemma with confusion. The blonde chuckled with a tinge of embarrassment. "Seriously, go ahead. He said the lower neck and his chest is a Scolipede's weak spots." The little bug buzzed with concern, but after a brief moment, she darted in and tried to take to heart the words. Not only did she go for the chest, but she went toward one of those forelegs, trying to bite at a spot that neither Scolo's head nor his legs could defend him. After all, those legs were itty bitty short.

"Of course. Always be prepared." He answered casually, crossing his arms once again to watch as the little Pokemon buzzed in, biting at Scolo where he couldn't exactly reach. His Pokemon let out an annoyed grumble and started stepping backwards, looking down at the Pokemon tickling him. How incredibly rude.
"That's a lot better. See how it's actually starting to annoy him this time?" Addy moved a little closer to where his Scolipede was and put a hand on him to get him to stop backing up, then looking to address the Combee for a quick second "Good call on the legs PinPin. Pokemon like Scolipede have a hard time protecting their legs." They were still armored, but it made her lower to the ground, less room to get away from certain attacks. "Just be wary of Pokemon that can learn Roll-out like this." His Scolipede didn't personally know it, though it would be a good move for him to consider.
Not the greatest move, but something good to consider. Stepping away from his Pokemon once again, he looked towards Jemma, eyebrows up. "I'd say that's pretty good. Practice it a little more if you'd like, then we can scooch on to the next thing."

Both human and Pokemon looked a little shocked at the idea of Rollout. Clearly neither had thought of that, but it definitely was a danger to consider. As Adrian complimented the two and then suggested moving on after a little bit more training, Jemma smiled and nodded. "All right. I think PinPin got the hang of this so we can move on to Bug Buzz or Gust. I can always practice with her later on the aim of Sweet Scent."
That seemed easiest. She didn't want to keep this poor man here too long. If only she'd had a Pokemon mannequin to start, he'd never have felt the need to waste his time. Maybe she could consider making things for Pokemon in her spare time... In any case, PinPin buzzed, gazing at the poison type that had been volunteered to serve as her target. ~How did you get so strong, anyway?~ The bee questioned the Scolipede curiously. She was ever so curious because he was just such a big Pokemon. Sure, he wasn't the biggest, but compared to her, he was positively gigantic.
The Sewaddle, the newest addition to the team of these three, had been watching carefully the whole time. He also knew Bug Bite, so this was just as good for him even if he wasn't using the move. Although, he was standing there and biting at the air to practice the movement, at least. Avery wanted to be strong, that's why he was fairly okay with this human having captured him. And thankfully, it seemed like he'd been taken by a good one, who also wanted him to grow. Misty didn't seem to care one way or the other about evolution and PinPin mainly wanted to evolve because... well, Vespiquen was gorgeous.
Avery wasn't particularly impressed with these girls because of those facts, but to each their own. He gazed between PinPin and Scolopocryptopidae before grumbling, ~Training and practice, that's how.~ PinPin frowned at this, turning and sticking her tongue out childishly at the Sewaddle. ~No one asked you, anyway. I was trying to be nice and pick up a conversation instead of just attacking him!~
~Well it's not like you're even hurting him, now are you?~ An insulted gasp came from the bee before she uttered, ~Why I never!~ As they continued to argue, Jemma heaved a sigh. It was like having a ton of children of varying ages. Some of them didn't get along, some of them did. Each had their own issues... "Hey, hey. Enough, you two," she scolded as PinPin started to get in Avery's face.
"PinPin, practice your Bug Bite some more and then we'll move on, yeah?" The bee harumphed at Avery and went back to Scolo, looking at him curiously. Then she buzzed around him, trying to determine a good spot to try tickling him again. Despite her annoyance with the other bug-type, she was keeping in mind the comment about Rollout. If Scolo did have that move, how could she attack him and avoid the move? Eventually, she discovered a small spot along his side, behind one of his legs that wasn't quite covered by his armor and she'd try to nibble him there.
"Avery... Would you like to practice with Stephanie a little bit while we wait for PinPin?" The Sewaddle perked a little and nodded, prompting the woman to release a Wigglytuff. "Steph, try to help Avery a little," she'd explain with a gesture to the Pokemon she was referring to. The pink balloon looked toward the Sewaddle and smiled, nodding and moving a little ways off so as to not to disturb the other training going on. The two would start doing much the same thing the Scolipede and Combee were doing, but with added instructions from Stephanie herself and a little more dodging to help him train with accuracy.
With a sigh of relief, Jemma's attention would return to Adrian and his Pokemon. A little giggle of amusement at PinPin's action escaped the blonde before she'd try to refocus on being more professional. "All right, so let's move on. I think PinPin's got Bug Bite down, judging by that last attempt."

Adrian's head tilted to the side some as the two small Pokemon argued with each other. Scolo, instead of getting to answer, seemed very agitated that he was cut off so abruptly by something so small. That little Sewaddle better find itself lucky that it's not one of his own team or he'd have to let it know who the alpha was. His twitching settled after a firm pat from adrian though as he stepped away from his Pokemon to stand clear of gust and bug buzz.
He watched the wigglytuff in silence then looked back at Jemma and gave her a nod. "Of course, Sweet Scent is best used on Pokemon that'll strike back. " Then you could, of course, measure how effective it was in actual combat, as compared to a fellow bug type that just stands there and takes it. "From what I saw, I can safely say that she's got quite a bit of technique developing in her movements as well. She learns very quickly." Which is to be expected of a bug type Pokemon.
"What are you most comfortable with moving on to?" The next two attacks were both special, so there was really not too much of a point in picking either or. It was more over what the owner of the Combee felt like PinPin should move onto next. It'd be like someone telling another person what to do with their growlithe rather than letting the Growlithe's owner think for themselves. It'd be rude.

Neither the Sewaddle nor the woman seemed to notice the agitated shaking of the Scolipede, as both were more preoccupied with seemingly more apparent problems... Thankfully that wasn't entirely misguided, as Scolo did have good self control and Adrian was there to help him from losing his cool. PinPin buzzed a bit when Jemma was asked about what they should focus on first. The woman hummed softly, gazing at the bee before shrugging.
"I'm going to follow my gut feeling on this one: I think Gust would be good. After all, there's a chance we'll run into some wild Pokemon here and they'll almost exclusively be weak to Gust so I think that's a good one to practice in the moment." With a decisive nod and a bright smile, she waited just a moment to be sure Scol would be the one left out for this part of the training as well. After all, he would be weak to the move, but it probably wouldn't hurt too much, regardless.
In the background, Stephanie was simulating her known attacks on Avery, but not outright hitting him. She'd swat him here and he'd get a tap there, occasionally a little spark would ignite between the two. The Wigglytuff had been with Jemma for a long, long time and she was sort of the motherly figure. Misty had been with the woman even longer, but the baby hadn't grown much. Avery wasn't doing great, but he was getting a little better.

Adrian opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off by some buzzing in the distance, heading towards them. "Sounds like we're about to get some more valid targets. Wish come true." Addy muttered the last part with a sarcastic bite, moving back some and making the hand motion for Scolo to about face and stare down the oncoming targets. "Battle what you're comfortable with. I have a full team with me, so if you need me to, I can step in to help."
By the sound of the buzzing, there were quite a few incoming. It'd make this training a lot more interesting though if things went well.

All of the Pokemon stopped what they were doing to look toward the buzzing swarm of Ledys. It mostly seemed like they were just passing by, but after this bit of training, some real battling would be worth it. Especially for PinPin, so she could test out the information about accuracy and weak points that she'd learned. Jemma nodded to Adrian and then addressed her Pokemon. "You three ready for a battle?" PinPin seemed uncertain, Misty seemed reluctant, and Avery... well, Avery was ready. After getting "teased" by Stephanie, he was more than prepared.
As the Ledyba came into view, the three small Pokemon were prepared. Of course, the swarm was... much bigger than she anticipated. Jemma looked a little more concerned when she saw just how many were coming. The babies probably wouldn't be able to handle it alone, but she wanted to see how far they would make it. Stephanie could help if it came down to it and she did have two other Pokemon with her which could most definitely help.
"All right. Let's try to get two of them. PinPin, use Sweet Scent but try to make it just strong enough, not too strong." The bee buzzed and flapped her wings a bit more to release the pink powder with such a succulent smell. It worked like a charm, drawing in just two of the Ledys. Once they were on their way, Jemma grinned. "Wonderful job, PinPin. Misty, use Shadow Ball."
The bud Pokemon unfurled her arms and formed the greyish-purple energy so she could hurl the orb at one of the Ledyba. It was a decent hit! Jemma cheered a little for her Budew. "Okay, PinPin, now use Gust on the same one!" The small flyer made a noise of understanding and whipped up a small tornado to send at the Ledyba, trying to chip away at one of them at a time. Another good hit too! "All right, Avery, your tu---eep!"
Rather suddenly, the little bug was struck with some force by purple energy. Upon him righting himself, it was fairly obvious he was... more than a little confused. "Avery! You okay?" The Sewaddle wobbled a little but offered as much of a nod as he could manage. "A-all right... Use Bug Bite to retaliate!" The little one steeled himself long enough to launch himself at the offending Ralts and bite into it. Once the psychic-type was damaged, the little bug collapsed to the ground and couldn't quite get back up.
Jemma chewed her lip a moment before turning to Misty. "Use another Shadow Ball to finish it off," she instructed and the little bud nodded, again forming the orb to chuck at the wild Pokemon. It went down, leaving them to focus on the now-attacking Ledyba. One simply used Reflect, protecting the pair from physical attacks like that vicious-looking Bug Bite. The other Ledyba was not pleased with being pulled from the swarm just to get beaten. Its wings started to glow a faint blue and then Misty was showered with energy ripples of the same color as it used Air Slash on her. Not satisfied with that, he then moved on to punch at her in a flurry of Comet Punches. Misty whimpered slightly and the blonde woman grit her teeth. "It'll be okay, Misty," she reassured, but didn't yet return the Budew.
Watching all this caused something to change in PinPin. They hadn't expected the wild Pokemon to have super-effective moves against them and even though Misty had managed to get through it, they had barely injured this one that could so effectively hurt them. It was only chance that made the Ledyba not use Air Slash twice. She didn't want her friends to be hurt! The little bee went over to Misty, expressing in very quick speech how sorry she was and how much strong she wished she could be and... then she began to glow. The Budew looked on in amazement as the Combee turned white and morphed into a whole new Pokemon: Vespiquen.
Jemma was just as shocked as Misty, but quickly let out a cheer. "PinPin, look at you! You're so pretty!" The queen bee was surprised by this turn of events too, but buzzed her delight. "All right, now let's do this!" The two females righted themselves, but the poor Sewaddle was still a little wobbly on his feet and got as ready as he could. "Misty, use Venoshock. PinPin, let's finish off this one." Misty's arms began to glow a subtle white before dark purple orbs were being launched at the first ladybug.
Now... Jemma expected a Gust, but what she got was a Slash attack, a new move the Vespiquen learned upon evolution. And it critically hit too! Down went the first Ledyba. "Well... that's new. Good job! Now use Gust on the other one," she instructed. "Avery, use Bug Buzz!" At least this way the little guy didn't really need to move. First came the mini-tornado from PinPin, then came the red waves of energy from the Sewaddle. The Ledyba was quite shocked and retaliated with its own Bug Buzz, followed by a Double-Edge attack, slamming into PinPin with enough force to send both target and user reeling.
"Let's finish this off with Gust, PinPin!" Jemma had enough anxiety for a simple training battle. It was time for it to be over. PinPin followed orders, letting a tiny tornado engulf the wild bug and letting it collapse to the ground afterward. The woman heaved a sigh of relief before running over and giving PinPin a big, but gentle hug. "I'm so proud of you! Look how gorgeous you are," she squealed. Avery, finally recovering from his confused state, got up and shook himself off. He humphed a little at the talk of how pretty this new form was but just made his way over to sit by Misty, who was happy for her friend but also being lazy. She had just plopped herself right on the ground with a smile on her face.
It would seem, in her excitement, Jemma had entirely forgotten about poor Adrian and... well, and the other Ledys if they were even still in the vicinity.

Addy observed the battle carefully, even adding a small nod of approval at the Vespiquen that formed before them. The battle went relatively well, save for the confusion. That was a small wrench in their little battle though. The bigger wrench came in when Jemma and the others appeared to have forgotten about the rest of the bugs in the area. As if on cue, a Ledian and four of her little ledy friends turned towards Adrian, making the man immediately withdraw his Scolipede in favor of swapping out his Volcarona.
After a quick moment of calculating, he sent out his Joltik, onto the back of his Volcarona, all while tossing out his Dwebble, Wimpod and Caterpie. "Noctuidae. Zen headbutt!" He trusted Noctu to know exactly what he was directing the attack to, and watched as the large moth dove towards the Ledian, striking it in the center of it's chest. It was enough to get his Joltik close to another Pokemon while also trying to confuse the Ledian. "Argasidae, jump!" It was hard to follow, but he had practiced this enough to watch the small form of the Joltik jump off of the moth, landing and clinging to a Ledyba.
"Riodi! String shot the incoming Ledyba!" The young Caterpie took a moment to absorb what was happening, but was able to coat a good amount of the Ledyba in sticky string, slowing it down, but still striking his Caterpie either way with a tackle. "Lovely, Don't worry too much about it Riodi, Bug bite while it's close! Stick to it!" Sadly, the small Pokemon wouldn't be too much use, offensively, to them if she was on the ground with everything in the air.
"Pagu! Rock Wrecker! Lepis! Sand attack!" His eyes continued moving about the field though as his Pokemon moved. In the corner of one eye, a rock flew forward with sand, striking one ledyba each while his Volcarona maneuvered around with the Ledian, taking a mach punch, but shaking it off soon after as her body's intense heat left a lingering burn on the Ledian. "Good enough! Noctu! Finish it with Hurricane!"
Adrian made sure all of his Pokemon were out of range before calling it of course. His Volcarona, aiming away from the humans and friendly Pokemon, lifted into the air, wings spread as it waited for the perfect opportunity to strike, wings flapping viciously, stirring up cutting winds that lifted and blew the ledian backwards, directly into a tree. The larger of the ladybugs collapsed to the ground, unconcious. "Good job, now get out of the way." There was still a pretty good sized battle going on.
His Caterpie was clinging to the Ledyba, biting it until she was finally shook free. "Pretty good time for a first try. String shot again!" Of course, he wouldn't just outright tell his Caterpie to bait an attack, that was bad practice that he wasn't used to. Lookin to the Joltik, still on the back of the unknowing Ledyba, Adrian raised his eyebrows. Perfect. "Arga! Thunder Wave!" an ensured hit as the unwary Ledyba was covered by an electrical pulse, lowering to the ground, unable to move, missing an opportunity to do something. "Electroweb!" The battle to his right carried on though, his Wimpod skittering back to him in fear from being struck by a series of comet punches, only to be lifted into Adrian's arms. "No buddy, Scolo can't step in for you. Stick through it and you'll be a big, strong, Golisopod one day." he almost cooed under his breath to the whimpering bug in his arms. Sucks that there was something going on meanwhile. His Dwebble was busy enduring a barrage of tackles from the Ledyba he had struck with a rock, and she was obviously becoming irritated with the series of attacks. "No bars! Rock Slide!" Another Ledyba down as he watched the rocks strike and bury the bug for the most part. Good. Now he could focus on coaxing his Wimpod back into the battle, now that things were calming down.
He held onto his Wimpod as his Dwebble scuttled back to his side. Recapping the field once again, he noted his Joltik on the back of a paralyzed Ledyba, one of them covered in string shot trying to tackle his Caterpie again in a rage and another struggling with sand in it's eyes, trying to make it's way over. "Arga! Cross Poison! Finish it! Riodi! Tackle back!" Huffing to his self, he put the panicking Wimpod down as the sand covered Ledyba finally drew close enough to make his Volcarona buzz in annoyance. "Lepis! Metal Claw!" He was still struck, but it was good enough to dole out quite a bit of damage as the Ledyba drew close to try and punch at him. Hilariously, it missed and fell to the side of the Wimpod. "Good. It's just you two now." Literally his least equipped Pokemon. He'd have to fix this.
The two Ledyba were both enraged though, luckily though, one was blinded while the other was wrapped in a sticky thread, grounded now from the amount of string that Riodi had poured forth. "Riodi! Tackle again! Lepis! Struggle Bug!" The Ledyba kept getting too close for comfort, but it wasn't like they had any choice. His Caterpie struck one on the chest once more and his Wimpod put forth an effort into fighting against the grip of the other bug type, breaking free with vicious, albeit terrified, thrashing. He hated that attack though, since it always seemed to leave his bug more fatigued than anything in the end. "Metal claw! Bug bite!"
His hopes came true that this would be the last bit needed to chase off the last two of the bugs on them as they took the hits once again, deciding to flee with what comrades had already gotten up and left. They weren't sticking around for this. Quickly, Adrian picked up his Wimpod while the Caterpie and Joltik climbed onto his shoulders with the Dwebble between his feet. The two small bugs on his neck quickly tucked in close, staying as safe as possible from predators.
Of course, with a massive Volcarona behind Addy, they didn't have too much to worry about. Adrian had his arms full of a panicking Wimpod anyhow. "There's two more left!" He called out, Noctu busy helping Addy try and calm down the terrified silverfish.
