Nothing Ventured; Nothing Gained After having gone to get the Crabrawler from the swarm of them in this area, Valorie decided to go about exploring at least for the day. She'd gotten her bike out, unfolded it, and went on a nice ride into the wilderness around the city. The forests and mountains were perfect for a good bike ride to exercise. The woman chose the mountains as a place to at least start out.
There she was, biking up an incline, though it wasn't too bad. The weather was good today, thank goodness. She didn't have to worry about a mudslide or worse yet, the rocks becoming loose. The ground was dry and traction was good. Valorie was already sweating after coming from the city, but that's just what she liked.

Steven once again found himself lost in the woods. When he had arrived in Faraday City he had a urge that he knew better to follow but as the fool he is he followed hies urges and ventured into the wilderness. At this time Steven has been lost in the woods for two days, starving and not feeling himself he decided to hike up a mountain to see if he could see the area and hopefully be able to see what direction he has to go to end up back in the city.
Steven was taking break from working his way to the top when he heard someone on the trail he was on, with deciding to sit and wait so he could ask directions, when the noise finally cam in eye site he called out "good day to you! could I ask for some help? I am afraid I am lost." Steven didn't think that this person heard him so he stood in middle of the trail in hopes that they will stop, if not they would hit him but they wouldn't be ignoring at that point this was a risk he was willing to take.

Nothing Ventured; Nothing Gained Steven wouldn't have to worry in the slightest. Valorie was very attentive and as soon as she saw him up ahead, she'd slow down and come to a stop not too far away. Dismounting from the bike, she'd move closer with a smile. "Hi there! Are you all right?" She wasn't really sure at this point why he was standing in the road because he was right and she hadn't heard a word that left his mouth.
Rather suddenly, though, her head turned toward a noise up on a cliff. She hadn't really expected to see anything, but what she did see was two Pokemon and they didn't appear to have good intentions. Valorie narrowed her eyes and then produced a Pokeball. "Go, Hanna." A Buneary materialized, looking up at the two offending Pokemon, who snickered at what such a small Pokemon was supposed to do against them.
She would show them! "Sky Uppercut the Absol. Use Ice Punch on the Oranguru," came the instructions and the bunny hopped into action. Er, doesn't sound as cool as one would think. Anyway, her punch came right up into the Absol's face and she turned to bring a glittering blue fist down atop the primate. It didn't freeze her like trainer and Pokemon had hoped. The Absol retaliated with a Psycho Cut, causing Hanna to wince.
What Valorie really didn't expect was the Oranguru to use After You, all but forcing the Buneary to attack... and this left a good opening. Thankfully, plenty of training helped her in this situation: Hanna went to use Sky Uppercut again and the Absol was prepared this time. He used Sucker Punch and the two hit each other at the same time, causing both to faint, much to both Valorie's and the Oranguru's dismay.
The trainer frowned and returned her companion before releasing another: a Yungoos. "Crunch," she instructed simply. Unfortunately, as he bit into the opposing Pokemon, Valorie had to come to the conclusion that she and her Pokemon did not have much in the way of luck today... "Hyper Fang!" After this attack, the Oranguru was looking quite worse for wear. In a last ditch attempt to protect herself better, she used Wonder Room. It had no particular affect on Celsy, but it increased her own defense.
Then she looked into the future with Future Sight in an attempt to have the last laugh. "Crunch again," the woman instructed. This took out the Pokemon despite her best efforts and... just then, a poor present-wielding Delibird found itself in the cross hairs of a slightly stressed Valorie. She came at them with good intentions, but the trainer only barely noticed something out of the corner of her eye and expected a counter attack.
"Quick, Hyper Fang!" Even as the Yungoos attacked and Valorie realized this probably wasn't an actual enemy, it was too late. Celsy hurt the Delibird and she threw a present from her tail at him. It just sort of... poofed at his feet, but did nothing and he was quick to finish her off with another Hyper Fang. As the bird collapsed, Valorie frowned somewhat and leaned her bike against a rock to go pick up the capture balls the Pokemon had dropped when it fainted.
"Oops..." Her brows knit together tightly and she sighed, removing a Pokeball from her pack and using it on the Delibird. The least she could do was take care of it after that... Finally, she'd turn back to Steven and realized he didn't look very good. She took out a health bar and her water, immediately offering both without another word.

Steven was impressed in her battle capability, he was more in impressed that she offed him some food."Why, thank you, lovely." Steven did not hesitate to in hale the bar and water. once he was done he would look back up to her. "So what bring you out into the wildness other then to kick Pokemon butt. Don't tell me you came out here look to buy a Pokemon egg, if so i can help you there i only sell the unique ones and powerful at that." This was a complete lie Steven currently didn't have any eggs selling his last one in the previous town how ever he did have a egg shaped rock that he had painted that almost looked like the real thing. "Also you wouldn't happen to know what direction the town is in, I....Seemed to have gotten lost in the woods." Steven did not notice any of the pokemon that had come out to see what all the noise was.

Nothing Ventured; Nothing Gained Valorie just listened to him and slowly raised a brow. "Ah, well... I didn't actually come out here for the Pokemon, although it is very good for my own to get some good training in." Unless, of course, she ended up beating up a Pokemon that just wanted to be nice. Then she felt bad. Celsy moved to climb right up his trainer and onto her shoulder.
The woman reached up to pat him and then shook her head slightly, looking a little confused as Steven spoke. "Uuh, well, no I hadn't expected to buy any eggs up here, actually. What kind of Pokemon is it?" Then she realized she still hadn't actually answered his question, only assured him that he was wrong. "Oh yeah, I'm just here for exercise." She reached over to pat her bike and smiled.
Just then, some braver Pokemon made their way closer to the humans. Valorie hummed softly. If Steven couldn't have found food, he probably didn't have Pokemon to hunt or forage for him, so... that meant she had to protect the scrawny guy, she supposed. "Go, Humphrey!" A Mienfoo materialized and looked between the Pineco toward his left and the Tangela more in front of him.
"Try to take out the Pineco first," she instructed, leaving her trust in her Pokemon to battle through without her specific instructions. This was part of training. If she couldn't tell him what to do because of injury or capture or whatever the case may be, her Pokemon still needed to know what to do.
The fighting-type nodded and jumped into the air, coming back down after an exceptionally long pause and smacking into the Pineco roughly. "Should have used Meditate first," she called and the Pokemon seemed mildly frustrated. Humphrey used Drain Punch to finish off the offending Pokemon, not proud of how he missed the opportunity to finish this so much more quickly.
The Pineco fainted and the Tangela tried to run away. The Mienfoo stopped her, only to get wrapped up himself. As the Bind took hold, the grass-type also used Constrict, causing Humphrey to squirm at the tension. He didn't like this one bit... He kicked at the Pokemon holding him, if only so he could better touch the ground so he could once against execute a Bounce -- DAMMIT, he should've used Meditate. Too late... Once he came down atop the grass-type, he'd take a moment to take a deep breath despite the vines holding him.
Now slightly calmer and much more in-tune, he would wait as the vines tugged tighter and rocks blasted him from a well-timed use of Ancient Power. Humphrey became worried as he realized the Tangela became stronger. Best course of action... what was the best course of action? 'Should have used Meditate,' echoed in his head and he did just that. Of course he knew it wasn't intended for this situation or every situation, but it helped him calm his mind and gave him more strength. Drain Punch. Yes, that's right. Perfect.
The Mienfoo wound up and punched into the mass of vines, aiming to draw energy from the opponent. It worked! He did it again and the vines released him. As he landed on the ground, he looked around toward Valorie, who smiled. "Good going, Humphrey. You're doing very well." The Mienfoo, pleased with his abilities, threw a fist in the air in victory. The trainer, meanwhile, gazed at the Tangela. It had fought hard despite initially wanting to run away... She pulled out another Pokeball and tossed it at the grass-type. Could be a good gift to one of her students if nothing else.
"Sorry about that. The town is..." she paused to look out across the valley below the cliff side. It was hard to see from this low on the mountain, but one of the taller buildings just barely peeked over the treeline and she pointed toward it, "over there. I can lead you back if you like."

Steve just watched her battle was deeply impressed that she could take two Pokemon on. once the battle was over he would just listen to her offer. "That would be splendid, whatever should I do to repay you? I will be forever be in your debt." Steven would give her a bow in thanks as he raised back up he would notice a Teddiursa "OH, MY, GOD! I must have that teddy bear!" Steven quickly grabbed a pokeball out of his pocket Calling out Sableye.
"All right we got this, use Zen Headbutt!" Steven knew this wasn't effecting against what he is calling a teddy bear but he knew it was his only chance of winning. the Sableye charged forward landing its attack knock it opponent back, "Follow up with another Zen Headbutt." The sableye repeated the same attack resulting in the same results.
The Teddiursa finally got back to it's feet this time attacking back with Feint Attack, followed again by another Feint Attack. The sable eye was close enough to the Teddiursa after these two attack that it would land one more Zen Headbutt this time without her trainers command, this time the results were different the Sableye had knocked out the Teddiursa.
Steven took out a pokeball and tossed it at the Teddiursa in attempts to catch it. He brought his attention back to the the other trainer. "Sorry about that horrible match I don't have many Pokemon that could of well done anything."

Trainer and Pokemon watched as this lost person became obsessed with the idea of the teddy-looking little bear. They gave a glance to each other and the Mienfoo shrugged his shoulders. At least he was as surprised by this behavior as she was, Jemma figured. They watched the rather repetitive battle and once Steven was talking to her, the woman just smiled softly. "No need to apologize," she assured. "Everyone has to start somewhere and at least you were aware of what kind of attacks would be effective."
With a bright smile, Valorie was about to start asking him questions when she saw something out of the corner of her eye. Humphrey did too, apparently, but even the defensive instinct was enough to cause him to start glowing, morphing, and finally evolving into a Mienshao. His trainer hadn't wasted time and instead extended her arm and instructed Celsy to intercept this... thing. It turned out to be an Emolga that... well, apparently smelled something on Steven that it liked and was gliding to land atop his head.
However, Valorie's Yungoos had hit it, knocking it slightly off course but also sticking to it, causing them both to fall to the ground. The Emolga used Light Screen to both separate itself and Celsy as they landed and theoretically protect itself. Then it stared a moment before bursting forward and trying to rub itself against Celsy, more to paralyze him than to injure him. It did both, though, the shock packing more of a punch than either seemed to expect. The little weasel growled and lunged, using Crunch. It didn't hurt the little electric flying squirrel as much as intended, so in frustration he attacked again.
Valorie frowned at this as he used Hyper Fang. He wasn't doing badly, per se, but he also had not waited for instructions. He was letting his anger get the better of him. She did not like this... but she would handle it later. At the moment, she turned her attention to Humphrey and gave him a pat on the head and a proud smile at his evolved form. Meanwhile, the Emolga had flinched. It Charged up some energy and then released a Shock Wave. Celsy's eyes widened and he tried to curl up to protect himself at least a little.
It did protect him, but not enough. As he uncurled, it was obvious that he had fainted as a result of a critical hit. With a shake of her head, Valorie returned the fallen normal-type and threw out a Pokemon she knew needed more training but also knew he had a bit of a hard time. "Efe, use Fake Out and then Tackle." The Tyrogue that emerged was quick to do as told, dashing toward the Emolga. He stopped right in front of it and slapped its palms together, causing a shock wave. This gave him a free opening to tackle the electric-type.
At this point, Valorie produced a Pokeball and threw it to attempt a capture of the Emolga. It was a fighter, that was for sure. Might need some extra training on personal space, but hey... "You did fantastic, Efe. I know it wasn't much, but we have to start small." The Tyrogue looked disappointed but nodded in understanding. If only his parents had passed down fighting-type moves... "All right, let's return you two to your Pokeballs and get moving."
Mienshao and Tyrogue returned, she faced Steven and smiled. Turning to fold back up her bike, she held it under her arm and gestured for him to follow as she started her way down the mountain and back toward Faraday. "So what brought you out far enough to get lost? I mean, it seems like you were probably looking for something if you forgot which direction was which. No offense intended if you just aren't very good with direction..."

As the ball clicked conforming that Steven had caught what he referred to as a teddy bear Pokemon. He would pick the ball up smiling just to notice the other Pokemon evolving, and it taking off to attack what happened to be approaching him from behind.
Steve watched as the battle took place with being impressed of seeing Pokemon and trainer in tuned with each other. With the attempted catch and her question Steven adjusted his glasses, "Funny you would ask, well to be honest i just had a urge to come out here. Not the best idea but hey, whats a little adventure now and then?"

Nothing Ventured; Nothing Gained Just an urge... and he got lost. "Well... may I suggest, in the future, having a Flying Pokemon of some kind? Just so they can scout out how you should get back." Valorie wasn't sure what to make of this turn of events, so she just continued to walk. What a strange fellow. He seemed relatively nice, though, so that was good. Adjusting her bike a little, she looked up ahead and wondered at his luck. He'd at least found a road. And, on top of that, been found by someone. The fact that this someone was willing to help him... What were the odds? This prompted her to look over to Steven, making sure he was keeping up with her all right and just to marvel at just how amazing the chances were.
