Scott's legs were absolutely soaked, but there were worse things, especially since he'd had the foresight to wear shorts that he didn't mind getting water (or the dirty debris that came with said water) on. Wading through the floodwaters of Old Pahala wasn't a task for the faint of heart, but then, Scott wasn't faint of heart, hadn't been for quite some time now.
Scott's Magnemite floated in the air near him, a small sentry, able to spy treasure and warn of danger when either one was spotted. Scott's other Pokemon remained in their Poke Balls, though Scott kept one hand near them, just in case a battle broke out.
Finding treasure in such an area was no easy task, to be sure, but Scott was determined to continue until he'd found enough to make the trip worthwhile.

(Claiming Z-Charm)
Scott wasn't sure what it was he'd found at first. At a glance, it just looked like a shiny piece of jewelry, able to be sold for a decent chunk of change. That was why he had picked it up, grabbed it out of the water in which it had been immersed--because he could sell it.
But once Scott got a closer look, he wasn't so sure that he'd be selling it after all.
A Z-Charm. Somehow, in the ruins of Old Pahala, Scott had stumbled upon a Z-Charm.
Scott had no idea how one would work the thing, of course, but he still felt compelled to hold onto it just the same. Maybe someday down the road, he would find out how to use it. Maybe someday down the road, this find would pay off much more than if it had been just another piece of jewelry.
And if nothing else, Scott imagined there was probably a market out there for Z-Charms as well.

(Claiming Normalium-Z)
After stumbling upon the Z-Charm, Scott was on the lookout for anything else unusual, and when he saw some sort of gemstone sparkling within the water near where he had found the Z-Charm, he grabbed it without hesitation. A bit of examination revealed that what he had found was no mere gemstone--it was a Normalium-Z. First a Z-Charm, now a Z-Crystal...
Scott thought back to when he had first heard of Z-Power, how his young self had delighted in the knowledge that such grand power was out there for the taking. He had more or less abandoned the notion since then, but now, with a Z-Charm and a Z-Crystal in his hands... perhaps it was a sign. Perhaps he would eventually be able to tap into that grand power he had so admired back then, with the right training, the right tools...
And if not, well, a Z-Charm with a Z-Crystal to match would probably sell like hotcakes if you could find the right potential buyers... but for once, Scott had more on his mind than mere money. He didn't put much stock in fate or anything like it, but part of him still wanted to believe that these two finds were more than coincidental.

(Claiming Magical Ribbon)
Scott's next find wasn't Z-Power related, didn't sparkle or shine in the sunlight, and yet its pink edges made it stand out from the rest of the ruins and debris all the same. As Scott picked up the ribbon and examined it, his Magnemite edged closer, making a slight buzzing sound as they did so.
"What's up, Sparky?" Scott asked.
"...Mag." Sparky edged even closer, brushing against one end of the ribbon. "Magne."
Scott looked at the Magnemite, looked at the ribbon, and then struggled to contain his laughter as he put together the pieces.
"You like this old piece of cloth, huh?"
"Mite-mite!"
Scott gathered together the ribbon and tied it onto his Magnemite. Once he was done, Scott stood back to admire his handiwork. The ribbon was wet and dirty, and its colors clashed horribly with those of the Magnemite... but Sparky seemed happy, and that was what really mattered.
"Magnemite!"
"You have fun there, buddy. Now, let's keep our eyes peeled..."

(Claiming Collector's Item)
Scott saw another flash of pink, even brighter than the first one, and reached down to grab its source... only to find a grimy, waterlogged Clefairy doll. When he first looked at it, Scott was disappointed that what he had stumbled upon was just an old, dirty doll. But then as Scott examined it further, he saw a tag marking it as first edition. Scott remembered hearing, several long years ago, that this particular brand of Clefairy doll had expensive first editions, that even ones in poor shape could fetch a decent chunk of change when sold to hobbyists; this particular doll was definitely in poor shape, but still...
As Scott pocketed the doll, he briefly thought about how it must have gotten here in the first place. Had a young girl been playing with it, or was it debris from an old collector's home? Regardless of the answer, though, it was clear that nobody was looking for the doll now, nobody was around to worry that it had gone missing; it was Scott's for the taking, and so he took it.
Scott waded back towards civilization, his thoughts turning to how he could hunt down the right buyer for his latest find.
