{ } A tall man sat at a table, entertaining guests at a restaurant on the great Sinclair Train. One glance made it obvious that this was not an event for those of middle or lower class. Suits with blazers, designer outfits, long elegant dresses and various expensive accessories were the attire of choice for this party, and it was flaunted proudly.
The man however, seemed to be the least rich among them. He wore a simple black suit with a red tie and lavender undershirt, with no visible accessories other than a pair of rimless rounded glasses, which were there out of necessity, not fashion. It wasn't that he didn't seem upper class, his short black hair was more than well groomed, and his clothing was clearly well made and created with only the best of materials. However, he didn't seem to flaunt it like the others. Of course he didn't have to. He was a Genkin, that was enough for him to show his lineage and prestige. Of course it didn't hurt to entertain the more important guest while they were on the train, to make themselves feel a little more special. After all, that meant they would come back again later, and spend more munnie, something that benefited any business.
It wouldn't be until much much later that the small dinner and talks would end, with the man standing from the table to dismiss himself, as to check on the supplies of the train and it's many passengers. Once he was several meters from the original party he let out a sigh. This man, Asche D. Genkin, always disliked being at such events. To most the upper class seemed like rich flaunting their good fortune, or a high show of sophistication. To Asche however it was neither. It was the same as a child who was under the impression that just because he had the latest phone he was an adult, or when a teen thought holding a weapon made them tough. A true sophisticate showed they were sophisticated through manners, posture, and actions. The only reason he possessed certain items in the first place was because it was expected of him by the other 'upper crusts' of the land.
Asche much more enjoyed working with people who had earned what they had gotten. While Asche had been born in luxury, no amount of money would buy one the right to be a Gym Leader. The heads of the pokemon League simply wouldn't have it, and anyone who attempted to would be sued and thrown in jail most likely. Even his station, being the official head of Sinclair and having the most say in what happens on the train, was earned through showing he knew what he was doing. There was not only a satisfaction in earning things, but also a level of understanding that was gained when doing so. Any dedicated worker knew these feelings well, and Asche was completely dedicated to his work, which as his ancestor's work: Sinclair City. Asche heard train signal it was coming to a stop, a safety regulation as old as the creation of the train. Even if the train was a gigantic city, it was still a constantly moving object. Things couldn't just stop without being flung forwards. Barely applying effort, Asche would wrap his hand around a small thin pillar, his body inching a backwards slightly as the train came to a stop. As soon as the train calmed, Asche wasted no time heading to the exit. The train would be stationed here for a while for much needed trading and restocking of supplies. Taking out two pokeballs, Asche would watch as two pokemon launched out.
The first was a gigantic lumbering dragon, with a dull green head and crimson body, with large white claws and various spikes of the same color. It had small wings coming out of its back, at the very least for its size. This was a Druddigon, one of Asche's team, and of course his muscle. More importantly, Druddigon was the pokemon he had take care of keeping track of items for him. The pokemon was by no means stupid, more than capable doing such a menial task with great accuracy. As the second pokemon flew off, as Asche knew it would, enjoying the cold breeze, Asche would hand the giant of a pokemon a clip board and over sized pen.
"Alright Braun, you know what to do from here." Asche would tell his pokemon kindly. As the Druddigon nodded in conformation and left to take care of stock, Asche's head would turn to the second pokemon. The pokemon had two pure white wings that soared through the sky, almost as if two clouds were being propelled by powerful winds. In the center sat a golden rounded body, with a beak just as white as the wings. It was a small and excited Swablu, whom was enjoy her time in the air and sky, loving every second. Asche knew she would, she always got this way when the train stopped. If the train wasn't moving, she could travel all she wanted without worrying about getting too far from Asche, a fact that brought her comfort. After a few minutes, Asche would call up to his Swablu. "Alright, come back down Sky. I'm going to need to keep you close while I'm here." Almost instantly the Swablu dived down to him, landing on his shoulder with grace. Without even a word uttered, her wings would wrap around his neck and herself, making a pure white scarf. To 97.4% of the population, it would seem as if the Swablu had been trained to do that as soon as she landed, showing a well disciplined trainer, as expected of a Gym Leader. In reality, Asche had already given her a mental command to wrap her wings around his neck. It was going to be cold after all, he should prepare himself. Refocusing his mind, Asche began counting the passengers as they left. He however wasn't counting heads, the computers did that themselves. What he was counting was how much each passenger was worth. He could tell by the way they walked, their clothing, their accessories, their method of travel, and even the kinds of pokeballs they used. As a few big clients left for business, Asche hoped some people of importance would at the least fill the hole left in the profits. After all, if their high class clients were kept on the train for just a few days more, the profits of this year would far outweigh the rest. Now it was just a matter of waiting.

The Sweet City of IceToday was a big day for Aleal. It came often enough; it was far from some sort of anniversary, and was regular enough for it to be normal, but even so, it meant a sudden influx of business, which meant not only money, but people, which meant potential friends, potential cultural differences, and even some potential challengers for herself. It was far from a holiday, but it was an important one anyway: Sinclair was stopping in Aleal! As one of the newest Gym Leaders, and representing Aleal, Aurora felt the responsibility to welcome everyone. Standing in front of her mirror, she was brushing her hair, fixing her appearance up completely before smiling. “There, that should do it~.” Fixing her sleeves one last time, she ran out through the museum, yelling to the receptionist as she went, “I’m gonna be welcoming the people coming from Sinclair, so I’ll be out for while!”She ran through the whole city, but she made it even before the train had stopped, catching her breath, moving her hands up and down with her breaths to calm herself down, looking into the distance and smiling as she saw that big old train that she actually lived in for a little bit a while ago. A part of her was nervous about this; it wasn’t like she was unused to responsibility... she was already sort of the guardian of Aleal – literally everyone in the city called her Big Sister now, even people older than her, just because she liked to help! – but this was the first time it was in any sort of official capacity! She was hopping gently, shaking her hands to try to shake the nerves away, even as the massive metallic monstrosity slowly came to a stop in front of her. She took a deep breath, not quite calming down, but at least pushing her nerves down, hiding them away as the doors to Sinclair opened and let out a crowd. As the Aleal traders and workers went to work, the Gym Leader smiled and went around, approaching Sinclair people and trainers individually as they came out, shaking their hands and giving them a proper Aleal welcome.

{ } It wouldn't take long for Asche to notice a pattern among the passengers exiting the train, in fact not even an entire minute had passed. What made it the most interesting was that the pattern had nothing to do with him, his employees, or Sinclair at all. It was a small detail, something so insignificant that noone on the train seemed to be paying it much mind. To the passengers however, this was a huge boost to their joy, at least from what Asche could tell. They were being greeted the second they left the train, and more importantly by a Gym Leader. He remembered the name Aurora, do to having seen an Aurora Borealis when he read her profile, but he had completely forgotten everything else. After all League members were given much more leeway on his train. As long as they didn't cause damage or disturb over fifty guests, they could do as they wished. So if she had chosen to enter it would only help attract guests.
However it was clear she had no intention of taking a temporary stay in Sinclair. She was making sure to greet each and every person was they left the great city and entered hers. Older men and women were just glad to see another face so friendly and warm in this cold place, while the children were absolutely ecstatic to be talking to a gym leader. It was certainly having a positive effect, and it was a part of business Asche had never thought of. Sure they may enjoy or even love their stay on his city, but what about after they left? Most businesses assumed that if the customer left happy they would have nothing but positive thoughts once they left, as anything afterwards had nothing to do with their business. Asche couldn't help but mentally chuckle at that thought. Human minds were rarely that logical, if ever. Here it was obvious, being greeted upon leaving the Great City Sinclair made visitors feel great, and those returning home feel welcome, which improved their thoughts of their trip as a whole, indirectly benefiting Sinclair. Perhaps he could offer a few people low pay for greeting people when they left his town to enter theirs.
Regardless, he felt he should greet the woman, at the very least as a fellow league member. Taking steps forwards he would extend his hand to the woman as soon as the two children barraging her with questions were rushed off by their parents, a warm smile on his face. "Aurora I presume? The new gym leader of Aleal?" If she waited more than three seconds, the customary time to wait for a hand shake before it became socially awkward, he would withdraw his hand before continuing talking. "I am Asche, Asche Sinclair. I feel I should thank you for the friendly greeting you are giving my passengers as they enter Aleal. You are making them feel much more welcome in this city, especially the children." He said as he looked towards the kids who were still freaking out that they had met two gym leaders in one day. He had remembered running into them when they had been separated from their parents. It as a... risky event, but it worked out in the end. Of course it was easier to find a child's parents when you could read their mind to find out what they look like. "Any particular reason you've decided to join us today? I'd be more than willing to help you with any tasks you may have Mademoiselle."

The Sweet City of IceThere were so many people...! Old people, young people, children and adults, and every one was happy and grinning, especially the kids. Aurora kept her cool, smiling warmly, shaking hands, accepting pats on the shoulder, even though inwardly, she was starting to freak out. All of this responsibility, all of these people... it was so much pressure! Why was it even so different? She did this sort of thing before... not on such a big scale, but it was the same thing, right? Why was it so different now? Was it because she was a Gym Leader now? “Oh, please, no, I’m not that pretty. Go on, shoo, You have to go find that jeweler!”Aurora blushed and made playful waving motions as an older gentleman played the playful flirt, ushering him away. When he left, she took a deep breath, trying to control her shaking. She wasn’t cold, it was her nerves. She liked people, she did, but she was meeting so many at once... and she was representing her whole city! Did other Gym Leaders feel this sort of pressure? Suddenly, without even thinking, she pulled out a Poké Ball, releasing her dear Sundae into the world, grabbing the Vanillite and hugging it gently. He looked up at her in worry, but she gave him a thankful smile. All she needed for now was someone she knew and loved – that alone helped her. She dealt with the next few people to approach her with easier nerves, smiling warmly again and giving them the same Aleal greeting. She was just sending off two children when someone addressed her directly by name. She blinked in surprise, and turned, and her heart froze in her chest... not in a good way, either. She didn’t even know him, but she recognized him: He was Asche Sinclair, Gym Leader of Sinclair... and also mayor. Aurora laughed nervously on pure instinct when he introduced himself, but she caught herself. Now was no time to look foolish. She took a deep breath of the cold air and put on a smile again, shaking her head gently at him. “What? No, there’s no need to thank me. It’s my duty to do so, right? Besides that, it’s my pleasure.”Still smiling, she shook her head, letting her Pokémon go to float beside her, smiling at it before looking out towards the crowd. “No, no reason in particular. I just thought that since I’m a Gym Leader of Aleal, I should come out and welcome everyone to the city. I represent it, after all, right?”

{ } Asche couldn't help but feel something was slightly off. She was just a bit too friendly right now. People now a days rarely ever do such trivial things just because of a duty. There was almost always something to benefit them, or something they cared about.
Asche's mind would focus on Aurora's, attempting to read her thoughts, at least on the surface. She had no reason to hide her mind at the moment, especially since the amount of people who knew of his psychic abilities could be counted on his fingers. What he sensed wasn't what he he was expecting. She had no motives right now, infact she was overwhelming herself. Her mind was nervous and chaotic right now, and the only thing calming her was her pokemon. Any time her thoughts floated back to that they calmed down, before returning to the are around her and going haywire again.
Asche let out a small chuckle, slightly amused both by her nervousness and the fact that she was actually the kind of person to do something out of duty. It was... interesting. Since she was being so kind to the people of his train he figured he couldn't leave her as is. He always had a way of helping people with a few words, and judging by her nervousness right now, it would be best if he toned down the use of Kalosian and just spoke plainly. "Last I checked, there was no contract stating you had to greet anyone who entered the city you worked at, let alone crowds of them. The action may be small but it is visibly affecting the people you greet. You're doing something noone is expecting you to, and it is making them feel much more welcome than before. Although I am aware such work can be stressful. If you can do anything to help yourself relax, please do so. We wouldn't want one of our newest League Members overwhelming her self before she can show her skill after all. Perhaps your pokemon team? I imagine it would both relax you and make the tourist's visit seem more special. After all its not every day you see the signature team of a gym leader." As Asche spoke, he unknowingly laced the words 'anything' and 'relax' with a bit of psychic power, a factor that would make the suggestion flow through her thoughts just a bit more than usual. It wasn't guaranteed to help, but at the very least it improved the chances of Aurora following the suggestion. However Asche was unaware of this ability of his, only hoping his apparent charm would help the situation.

The Sweet City of IceAsche SinclairAurora smiled nervously, having to admit that technically, there was nothing in her duties that said she had to, but it felt weird that it wasn’t to her. Maybe it was just her Aleal blood, but a Gym Leader was a high honor; it meant that she was one of the strongest trainers in the city, and being a Trainer, at least to her, meant being a kind person, one that cares just as much about the people around them as their own Pokémon. Still, she’s already done a lot, and the stress was starting to get to her, at least a little bit. So many people, so many Pokémon... as lovely, as beautiful as it really was, it was overwhelming to her. Smiling nervously, she nodded softly to Asche’s suggestion, not noticing the power behind it as she agreed, “Yeah... yeah, maybe that’s a good idea. I think I’ve done pretty well so far.” Her nervousness faded a little, calming down as she took a modest pride in making such a difference, comforted by the smiles on everyone’s faces. She gave one to Asche, giving him a big smile, far warmer than her type specialist would suggest, making a motion towards a more empty area. “Would you mind if we moved somewhere a little less crowded? I love people, but they can be overwhelming sometimes, you know?”

{ } Asche was glad to see Aurora calm. He wasn't exactly sure why, but he seemed well invested in the woman's emotional well being. The left side of his mind told him it was because she had high standing as a gym leader, and as such it would benefit him to make sure she did not get overwhelmed near his train.
The right side knew better however, he had more interest in this than just monetary. Perhaps it was because this was his first social interaction with someone in... well far longer than he was supposed to go without. On top of it wasn't forced social interaction, at any point Asche could leave and so could Aurora. Situations like this with no inane rules or expectations like with high class socials were always subjects of interest for Asche.
Luckily for Asche, Aurora seemed to want to continue the conversation, although preferably in a place where they could move have personal space. "As you wish." Was all he would say as he moved with the fellow gym leader. During this time, he decided to focus his thoughts on the cloud winged pokemon that wrapped around his neck like a scarf. As usual the small pokemon was staring at something new and transfixed on it, in this case: the ice cream pokemon that was comforting the other gym leader. He could feel an intense curiosity embing from his Swablu to the Vanillite, although the pokemon remained silent. Asche debated if he should let her interact with the pokemon when they finished walking. After all she wasn't Terra so she wasn't going to try and shove it down her throat... but the pokemon still was shaped like a common food. Perhaps it was best to keep her where she was for now.
Asche would turn back to the gym leader when they finally stopped, his attention returning to the world around him. "As I stated earlier, you had no need to stress about your situation. You're taking very well to the role of a gym leader." He commented, a calm smile on his face. "While I'll admit I have not met many other gym leaders, those I have were quickly over whelmed by their responsibilities, and you seem to be handling it much better than them."

The Sweet City of IceAurora let out a soft sigh of relief when Asche so easily agreed to the private area, smiling softly and nodding her head gently in thanks. She moved, leading them both away from the hustle and bustle of the trading and the dismounting and all of that. Already, just from the thought of being allowed to get away let her breathe again. She smiled down at her Vanillite, holding it up gently and smiling warmly at him as he gave her a big, happy smile. She had to admit, she was surprised by Asche so far. She had heard a little bit about him; none of it was particularly bad, but what little she did hear was that he was someone focused more on business, one of those colder people that didn’t really let other people in. They seemed to be wrong, or at least, he seemed to be warmer than she had heard. Still, she couldn’t help but smirk a little bit at the thought of calling him colder, considering who she was. Aurora looked back at Asche as he spoke again, blushing softly and waving him off. “O-Oh, please. I’m just trying my best is all. I’ve helped Aleal all my life and now I’m just official!” She shook her head, gently shaking away his praise, smiling at him again. “Thank you, though. You’re one of the Gym Leaders of Sinclair, aren’t you? You’re.... ummm...” She paused, thinking for a moment, looking at the Pokémon around his neck, her smile growing as she remembered. “Ah! Right! You’re a Dragon-type specialist, right? Fitting, for someone like the mayor of Sinclair.” She couldn’t help but smirk a little as she made a soft joke.

{ } Asche let out a soft chuckle as she commented on his preferred type. While it wasn't the first time someone had connected Dragon types with his Mayoral position, few had ever specifically mentioned the fact that he was Mayor of Sinclair. In most cases it was just because he was a mayor, but for her something about Sinclair was linked to Dragons as well, something most connected with steel types. He wondered if any Dragon Steel types had been discovered. "And how fitting that one of gym leaders of Aleal is an ice type. Although much like many of the people in your town, you seem to be as warm as any fire type." He replied, not even flinching when his pokemon flew off without warning. He could see her thoughts, nothing he said would make her stop without making her feel like she missed out. It was best to let her be free and only draw her back if she miss behaved.
The Swablu flew as fast as it could to the strange ice cream like pokemon, a look of excitement on its face as it observed the pokemon aggressively, taking every detail from every angle. It was so interesting! The pokemon began to chirp happily as it tried to introduce itself to the ice type, in probably the most aggressive manner seen by the other pokemon.

The Sweet City of IceAurora smiled and blushed gently as Asche complimented her, waving him off gently. He wasn’t exactly wrong, but it was still embarrassing for it to be said. As far as he was concerned, she was just being natural. Still, she looked at him warmly, responding. “’When the blizzard comes, you huddle for warmth. That’s all. Oh!” Aurora jolted when the bird suddenly took off of Asche without warning, following its movements by instinct, then smiling again as the gold bird flew around her Vanillite. Sundae was startled at the sudden attention, but smiled, enjoying it and greeting the Flying-type in turn, bouncing in the air as he circled around the Swablu, greeting it just as happily, blowing out little puffs of snow, celebrating meeting a new and friendly Pokémon. Aurora giggled and laughed as she watched them, looking at Asche. “Isn’t that just adorable, Asche? They’re making friends! It’s good, isn’t it? Don’t want two friends’ Pokémon to not like each other!”

{ } Ashe's Swablu and Aurora's Sundae both preformed a particularly eye catching maneuver upon meeting, although Asche doubted either were aware of it. Both were constantly circling each other, and as each got more excited they seemed to float or fly higher and higher. On top of that, Aurora's Sundae repeatedly let out small clouds of cold crystal like air, while Asche's Swablu let out a slow stream of feathers.
Not only did this leave a constant trail between the two, forming a dual helix, but it also caused some of the feathers to be covered in a thin layer of frost. It was quite the site to behold, and Asche made sure to memorize it so he could pull it off in contests, should he ever enter one.
Asche, it seemed, wasn't the only one who thought the sight was something to behold. The crowd once moving quickly to the city stopped to see the two Leader's pokemon preform this spectacular show. As per usual, the mere fact that they were Gym Leaders drew more attention to their skill. If one saw two trainers preform the maneuver, most would assume it was a happy coincidence, or that the two had barely managed to pull it off. For Gym Leaders however, it was a show of their pokemon's disciplined and their ability to work with completely new pokemon.
The people who saw this had a mix of awe and adoration welling inside them as they stared at the two gym leaders, before applauding. Asche smiled and looked at Aurora. "Just roll with it." He advised, before looking towards his Swablu, giving a psychic message. Without a work, the Swablu rushed back down, turning its wings to yet again function as a scarf. As the children questioned how they did that, and all the attention on them, Asche had to wonder if she could handle it now. After all the crowd had died down, but it was still a crowd. For now he decided to not speak any more than needed, and to observe and see how she preformed. Not advising her to keep calm, no using his influence or money, just watching and observing, his usual method. What would happen now?

At first, Aurora was just admiring the two Pokémon for the sake of their cuteness, but she picked up quickly on the beauty that the two were accidentally creating. She gasped, cooing softly at the sight, her worries and troubles slipping out of her mind as feathers floated around her. She smiled as she admired the frosted glittering, catching the light like fresh snow did at night under a streetlight. Before she knew it, a small crowd had gathered around them, watching the show with just as much if not more interest. Asche tried to comfort her, but she didn’t need it. This sort of crowd she was much more used to, a crowd of pleased fans, ones that saw her art and wanted more – although in this case, it wasn’t actually her art. Aurora giggled softly, smiling warmly as a couple of children ran up to her, rubbing their heads softly. “Believe it or not, that was an accident!” The children gasped, shaking their heads and trying to deny her, but she just smiled wider, giggling gently. “Yeah, it was, honest! Our Pokémon were just playing around and they accidentally made that!” The kids didn’t even seem slightly phased by this, immediately crediting the beauty of the accident to her artist occupation, though their exact words weren’t as eloquent. Aurora giggled again, gently clicking her tongue, wordlessly bringing Sundae closer to her as she bowed her head in an apology to everyone. “I’m sorry that that wasn’t an actual show, everyone!” She lifted her head up, smiling reassuringly at everyone. “If it makes you all feel better, December is coming up, and here in Aleal, that’s a big month! Carving contests of ice and snow, themed contests for coordinators, and there’s even a city-wide snowball fight! You all can enjoy your visit now, and maybe you’ll come back then and participate!”She smiled was big as she could, simultaneously loving the idea that so many people would come to her home town and reassuring them, lettering the crowd disperse as it pleased.
