Digging in the TunnelsThere was nothing better than a good, hot meal in someone’s stomach, Aurora thought. It battled the cold wonderfully, and created a funny, almost ticklish sensation right in her gut. It was the best way to relax if someone had a nice, big meal, but she was an Alealite, and with what she was planning, she knew better; she instead had a lighter lunch, something to give her energy without weighing her down. She had a shovel over her shoulder, bounding energetically down the steps towards the ubiquitous Tunnels of the region. Unlike last time, she was alone – well, mostly. As much as she loved people, being with them was just so exhausting sometimes. She could stand one or two people at a time, but crowds got oppressive, quick, so today, she just had her very old friend, her guard, one of her favorite Pokémon in the world, both personally, and species, Abomasnow, following her down into the depths. Jumping from the stairs, she skipped the last few steps, her boots digging into the snow on the ground before swiftly turning on her heel, smiling widely as she looked for a proper place to dig. This... this was much better than doing it with a whole bunch of kids.

Digging in the TunnelsAurora hummed that old trainer tune for digging in the Tunnels, soft, sweet, and gentle notes wafting through the air, echoing just slightly on the walls of the tunnel, sending her voice just a little farther than it would have normally gone. She stuffed her shovel into her area, sifting through it before tossing it away, and narrating herself through song just for fun. Without even realizing, she was managing to slowly bury her Abomasnow’s feet with the discarded dirt. He didn’t really mind, though; as a Grass type, it was actually comfortable for him. Eventually, Aurora blinked softly, looking down at her shovel as a particularly odd stone caught her eye. It was far too smooth and round to be one of the rocks around here. She picked it up, rolling it around her fingers, studying the oddity, but after a few moments, she suddenly realized what it was, smiling. “Oh, it’s an Oval Stone! Cool!”(OOC: Claiming Oval Stone)

Digging in the TunnelsAurora couldn’t help but smile as she took the Oval Stone, admiring its smoothness one last time before pocketing it. What luck was it that she found an Oval Stone just a few days after she saw a request for one? It was always funny when that happened, and it wasn’t the first time, either. That smile that people got was always so nice; that sweet, thankful smile that people gave when thanking her. Of course, not all trainers were like that: some of them barely even responded to her, but even so, she just liked to help, that smile was just a sweet dessert. They didn’t have to show their thankfulness for her to tell, after all. Suddenly, she realized she had gotten wistful and distracted, blushing lightly and looking meekly at Blizzard. He had definitely noticed, though, and even though he was a stoic wall of a Pokémon, he wasn’t emotionless, nor was he blind to her emotions. He gave her an amused smile, reaching over and patting her head. “Oh shut it, like you’re any better” Aurora pouted. She stuck her tongue out at him, still pouting a little bit, but eventually turning to her shovel, staring at it for a second before picking something up, brushing it off. It was a small thing, fitting between two fingers, and it was a gleaming icy blue. She easily recognized it, though; she knew a collector that just looooved these things. She’s been sending her these sorts of things for a while. [OOC: Grabbing the Comet Shard, for reasons that can only be deduced by me.]

Digging in the Tunnels“Look at this, Blizzard. A Comet Shard! Isn’t it pretty?” Aurora held the little jewel to the light, smiling as it shone gently. Her Pokémon leaned over her head a little to look at the shard, making her smile. He was a stoic creature, but she had known him for a very long time now. He liked shiny things, and just for him, she tilted the jewel, letting him admire how it caught the light before putting the jewel away. She had to admit, a part of her wanted to keep it, but she could use a little extra money. “Maybe next time,” she whispered to herself, smiling and returning to her digging. Maybe next time she could go so far as to make herself a little bit of jewelry with it! She was far from an expert, but she had looked over someone’s shoulder once or twice... and she doubted that no one would complain if she wanted to try her hand at it. They’d help her out, too; if not for the fact that they were Alealites, then maybe for the fact that she was the Gym Leader. Either way, they were thoughts for another time, especially since her shovel was carrying something that was much larger than most rock she usually got, filling at least half of her shovel. Digging in the TunnelsWhatever the statue was, it could certainly be described as strange. But, even though it looked very odd, she had the feeling that it could be worth something to the right person, although it could probably go for a cleaning first. She gently picked it up, setting it aside with a smile before returning to her digging, humming that one song yet again, smiling as she gently flung dirt and stones aside, digging into the wall more and more. It wasn’t long before another hunk of something caught her attention. She had set the shovel down to pick at the dirt, and she scratched off a bit of dirt from something white. She tilted her head softly in curiosity, picking it up and gently rubbing the dirt off until she was holding what appeared to be some sort of sparkling stone. She rolled it gently between her fingers, staring at it curiously at first, but she smiled quickly. Whatever this was, it was very pretty, and it wasn’t any ordinary gem, either, at least none that she ever saw. Aurora smiled widely, putting the stone in her pocket as she stood up. Digging, like always, was going really well for her. (OOC: Claiming Z-Charm)
