Notagshere | The biting cold was something Hunter was used to, but even with a life time spent in Aleal, the feeling of a rock breaking cold flesh was something that wasn't all too pleasant to anybody. This time, he remembered to bring his gloves. And by remembered, he was reminded by his uncle tossing them into his lap before he got up to get ready.
Now here he was, Abra curled up in his jacket hood as he trudged along with his Growlithe, only climbing over obstacles as needed when he couldn't be led around them. Landing with a heavy thud, Hunter finally came to a stop on his hike and called barium over to help him sit down. This whole climbing thing could be terrifying when you didn't have any sort of sight going for you at all. In honesty, he was conserving his energy for whenever he needed it. He was up here, looking for another pokemon to add to his team, one his uncle told him he may be interested in.... but wouldn't tell him what it was.
His uncle was simply concerned for his safety as usual, that was all. He knew his nephew loved dragon types, even after the horror story of his father's Haxorus losing control like it did. But the boy was in his thirties now and he finally learned how to let go of his leash and let him climb the mountain without him. Now climbing the mountain without another human was an entirely different beast.
After catching his breath, Hunter shoved his self back to his feet and looked down at where he felt Barium pressed against his leg. With a bit of focus, the Growlithe's aura came to life in his vision and he gave the pup a soft smile, reaching down to give him a pat before walking forward, looking about at all the random flecks of life that could be seen throughout the mountain.
Eventually, something would aggro or grow curious of him. He was a patient man, he could wait, so he continued walking the trail barium led him along.

stillnotags | Hunter grinned at the dog like pokemon skillfully bounding across the stones, landing in front of him with a skid. It was a Lycanroc and he couldn't exactly afford to battle one with his current kit. Barium was at a disadvantage, and while Osmium knew Energy ball, he was still just an Abra. Besides, he was sleeping right now, so he could put it off and walk away with his pride in tact for not risking battling a potentially powerful pokemon.
"Hey there buddy!" He greeted the Lycanroc, hands on his knees and bent over slightly. He wore a smile on his features, but didn't show his teeth. Apparently that was a sign of aggression to some Pokemon, so that was one step towards not getting attacked. "I can't stick around to battle ya, sorry, but I can give ya a treat, would ya like that?" As he asked the wild pokemon, he reached back and pulled out a couple of treats, tossing them towards the Lycanroc and looking at Barium, who simply seemed excited to see another furry, four legged companion.
The Lycanroc quickly ate it's treats and looked at Hunter, his tail wagging slowly before he continued on his path, seeming to be giving a silent 'ok' for the human to keep walking on the mountain with his pokemon. "Glad that went over well. Lets go Barium." He spoke up, tossing a treat down to the dog to make sure he wasn't left feeling betrayed before they continued down their rocky road.
Boots crunching on a mix of terrain, he looked back down at Barium and gave him a shrug. "I suppose I should apologize for not letting you battle. But that would just be too risky. Hope you can understand that buddy." He explained, earning a bark from his orange companion in turn. He gave the pokemon a soft smile and kept on the road, pushing through as auras continued to flicker and waver as various life moved and swayed across the mountain.

Osmium - Healthy Synchronize Teleport | Shadow Ball | Energy Ball
Barium - Mild Intimidate Crunch | Flamethrower | Reversal | Leer
stillnotags | The trio had continued their trail for a bit farther before Hunter picked up on another approaching aura. This one wasn't quite as agile, but it was still pretty good sized. After a moment, he identified it as a heatmor, keeping his eyes locked on it's approach. "Stay on your guard, Barium." Something about the way this one was approaching them didn't seem too welcoming. In fact, at least the Lycanroc was kind enough to keep it's distance, this one was already half that and charging.
With a yelp, Hunter bounced back and narrowly avoided a fury swipes to the gut. In fact, Barium was the only reason it didn't catch him. Osmium, on the other hand, had sensed the Heatmor's approach, and as soon as it was close enough, the Abra woke up and immediately made sure to teleport in front of Hunter. From it's sitting position on the ground, Osmium threw a shadow ball towards the heatmor to get it's attention just long enough for Barium to gain his bearings. "Thanks Osmium."
Lifting the Abra back up and putting him on his shoulder, he looked towards Barium and the Heatmor's Aura. "Crunch, while its still close!" Hunter called out, one hand still resting on Osmium as he slipped back into his hood tiredly and watched from the safety of behind his master's head.
Barium stood up with a frustrated bark, eyes locking on the strange red Pokemon with a vicious snarl before lunging forward, teeth clamping onto the heated side of the ant-eater like Pokemon. He was quickly thrown off though as the Heatmor began to thrash in frustration, turning back towards the trio as he tried swiping at them once more. "I don't think it knows any ranged attacks. Odd for a fire type. Barium, leer it down!" Barium was able to dodge the second set of fury swipes and was able to kite the fire type further away from his master once more before glaring down at it, still with a snarl on his face as his fur stood on end and he held his body low to the ground.
"Crunch!" Hunter ordered once more as he watched the Heatmor gather something in it's cheeks. But it didn't spit out any fire? Instead, it just held onto it as Barium bit down once more. He wasn't sure what it was doing, but he didn't like it. He didn't want Barium to use flamethrower on a fire type, that'd be absolutely pointless in the long run. Not only would it hardly do anything, there was a chance that it could be totally ineffective to it. This pokemon after all did have incredibly hot bodies.
They all stopped and tilted their heads though when the Heatmor finally swallowed what it was holding in it's cheeks, some of the bite wounds left on it healing as it did so. "What in the." He had no more words, that was just strange. Barium felt free to give the wild pokemon another harsh glare to back it off more, the leer becoming a warning to leave.
But the warning wasn't heeded in the slightest by wild pokemon. Instead, it ran in for another Fury Swipes. A bit on the hesitant side of course, it swung wildly at the growlithe that had been intimidating, leering at and biting at it. This small dog was a hell of a pest and it was really starting to enrage the Heatmor as the battle went on. Barium was struck 5 more times before catching his self on all four paws. "Hell. Barium, Reversal!"
With a determined bark, Barium jumped towards the other fire type and gave him a rough tackle with his shoulder, catching it off guard with the new attack, pushing the heatmor back and knocking it to it's knees. Almost as soon as it hit its knees though, the pokemon's cheeks puffed back up once again. "Quick! Before it can swallow! Crunch!"
One last push and Barium was on top of the heatmor, biting into it's shoulder and leaping off right before it crashed to the ground with a thud. With a heavy sigh, Hunter went down on one knee and reached out to pet the Growlithe, checking the aura over, fingers running through his fur and just generally making sure he was ok. Besides some scratches, he was better off than he would've been if Osmium hadn't pulled it off of it's surprise attack. "I'm sorry Barium. I'll be more careful from now on, ok?" He spoke with a frown of his face, but was quickly licked across the mouth as reassurance. With a bark, before he could respond to the lick, Barium had stepped away and pointed his nose up the trail further.
"Yea. Lets keep moving buddy. Glad you're ok." He followed the Growlithe further along the mountain trail, Osmium whispering a soft 'abra' in his ear before drifting back to sleep, tail hanging out of the hood of his jacket as the psychic type relaxed once more. Abra had an uncanny ability to sense things and read minds, even in it's sleep. Thankful for this ability, he reached back to give the Abra's head a soft pet as he crunched up the trail, watching Barium closely and following the exact trail he was trotting so he wouldn't trip over anything.

Osmium Synchronize Teleport | Shadow Ball | Energy Ball
Barium Intimidate Crunch | Flamethrower | Reversal | Leer
--- | They had been walking for a bit longer before they decided to take a underneath a small outcropping on the mountain side. Sitting with his Abra looking over his shoulder, Hunter held the still wounded Growlithe and shut off his aura sight, focus now on channeling and healing the minor wounds that still covered his Growlithe's body. "There ya go Barium, all patched up." He muttered quietly, running his fingers through the warm fur, petting him along the jaw and letting him go forth to explore a bit while Hunter decided to take an even longer break to get his self back together.
Chewing on some jerky that he had packed with him, he listened to Barium bound around, and to Osmium's soft breathing as he lay across his lap, curled up. His chewing came to a halt though whenever he heard some stomping off in the distance, followed by Barium's excited panting. Lifting his head up, he heard the distinct sound of Torkoal releasing it's smoke.
Well, that break lasted long enough he supposed. Squinting his eyes as the aura came to life for him, he watched the Torkoal approach them slowly, and by the way it was tolerating Barium, it seemed peaceful enough. "Hey there big guy. Is he buggin ya?" He asked, watching as the torkoal simply laid down and continued to let the smaller pokemon run around him. 'huh, guess not.' he mouthed to his self as he put his back against the wall and turned off his aura sight once more.
They spent a little while longer, laying around each other, the sounds of the three pokemon communicating with each other let Hunter know that things were still ok, and that the Torkoal just seemed to be watching out for Barium, if anything. Curious, he looked back at the two fire types, watching as their auras revealed that that was likely the case. The large turtle had laid its head over Barium, and both were lounging around.
He really hated to do this, but they couldn't dawdle for too long on a cold mountain. "Come on Barium. Time to keep moving." He spoke out to his Pokemon as he stood, placing Osmium back into the hood of his jacket. Reaching down to give the Torkoal a cautious pat on the head as thanks, he continued moving a long the mountain trail, almost to the point where it would become time to turn around and head back down.

TAG@ | They looked to each other and all shrugged in their own manner. They had reached the end of the trail they usually walk through, and Hunter wasn't going to push his self any harder than he had to. Turning around to start heading back down the rugged terrain, he suddenly ducked his head, responding to the Abra palm against the back of his head, pushing down. There was another Pokemon, but this little jerk was moving too quickly to handle properly with his current team.
It was way too risky. Luckily, his Abra had gotten ample rest throughout his trip, his only exertion being relaxed off by more sleep. "Holy hell this thing is angry." He shouted as he returned Growlithe, narrowly saving him from quick attack that was diving right for him. Hopefully his idea would work, this thing was still way too fast for either of them, especially with that quick attack.
Reaching behind his head, Hunter gripped his Abra to his chest and held onto him as that strange feeling too over him again. They wouldn't go far, but once they landed wherever Osmium was able to pop them off at, he'd have to let Barium out and start moving, first thing. It wasn't far, in fact, he could still hear the Gligar's irritated cries behind him. Still holding onto Osmium as the Abra now clung to the front of his hoodie, Hunter let Barium back out of his ball to help lead him down the mountain.
Luckily, they were able to get away from the speedy attacker, but they remained quiet now, careful not to potentially let the angry pokemon know where they were at. Flamethrower had range, yes, but it would hardly effect a ground type. Then there was Abra, he wasn't very good in combat despite his psychic capabilities. The Gligar was still too fast, and who knows what it knew! He had very little to counter it. There was no shame in running away, that was for sure.
The trio continued a quiet trek down the mountain until they were well sure that the Gligar was out of earshot of them. When Osmium relaxed a little more, Hunter took that as a good sign and let out a relieved sigh.

Notetoself. Battle the last one with Abra, whatever it is. | Well, luckily, a Turtonator was following behind them curiously. When he turned around to look at it, giving it a small wave, the pokemon backed off without a word. The poor thing was shy. Frowning a bit, he looked down at Barium and shrugged. It was a shame, most of the fire types they were crashing into seemed incredibly gentle. The only exception being a Heatmor that had attacked them a while back.
Shame, he liked sitting down with wild pokemon that just wanted to chill out. Well, either way. He continued his way down the mountain trail, the slope smoothing out as he continued his path back to Aleal. He watched as Pokemon auras begin to taper out and become more scarce as he approached civilization, where people trekked more.
Barium seemed to have a pep in his step, but knowing him, he just wanted to get back home so Uncle Griswold could continue to spoil him further.

Osmium Synchronize Teleport | Shadow Ball | Energy Ball
Barium Intimidate Crunch | Flamethrower | Reversal | Leer
Lets do this! | As soon as they thought they were about to break the trail for good, Hunter noticed a small aura approaching them from the rocks. Snorting some, he grinned and looked back at Osmium, who was also looking in the direction of the approaching Axew... who seemed kinda small from what he thought they'd be. Maybe she was still juvenile. "And here I thought I wouldn't get to see any of you little guys on this mountain side." He spoke up, watching as the dragon approached him and crossed her arms, giving her best sassy expression to Barium.
Barium was curious about the pokemon in general. Tusks, sassy, just in general it was something he'd never seen before. He looked over to his master, who was kneeling down!? Hunter grinned at the sassy pokemon for a moment before frowning. "Hm. Why'd you come up to us, is there something wrong?" It was odd, how what he had been looking for had suddenly approached him out of the blue. It could've been coincidence, but upon closer inspection, something seemed to be wrong. The small dragon began chattering and moving her arms, motioning to where she had come from. Hunter nodded his head, pretending to understand everything she was saying before she suddenly hopped away a couple of steps, motioning for the human to follow her.
Looking to Barium, he shrugged. Both of them turned to look at the psychic type that had been watching quietly. A simple nod from Osmium was more than enough of an ok to go ahead and follow the dragon pokemon. Standing up, Hunter began trailing the tusked pokemon, Barium between them to help him navigate around the stones and such.
When they arrived to the Axew's cave, he was honestly shocked. The Axew was touching something, a cloth, by the trails of aura left behind. Narrowing his eyes and watching closely, he realized that she did pull a cloth up. A ragged blanket was laying over a stuffed Cubchoo. Pursing his lips, Hunter watched as she approached him, touching and motioning to the tear in the stuffed animal. "Oh, this isn't good at all, now is it?" The major question was if he had a needle and thread packed away in his back pack. Sitting against the rock wall as his Abra moved to help him dig through his backpack, pulling free a small, metal tin.
As Hunter waited for Osmium to thread the needle, he found the tear in the bear's side. Placing and smoothing the stuffing out, he held the bear in his lap and the tear closed while his Abra worked it's magic on the stuffed animal. Hunter COULD stitch things, but it'd be a slop job compared to what Osmium could accomplish with his psychic focus.
After a tense passing of a moment or two, the tusked pokemon shuffling nervously as the two strangers worked on her favorite companion, Hunter and Osmium were able to present a repaired bear to the dragon type. The Axew let out an excited noise and reached forward, taking the bear gently before giving it a soft hug, eyes looking up at hunter before walking over and slapping a small paw onto his leg. "What is it?" A couple more pats. "Want us to leave?" A headshake. "Want to.... is there something else broken?" Another head shake, harder patting. "Do you want to come with us?" she began hopping up and down, but immediately reached out and started touching at Osmium, who conveniently levitated out of her reach. "Battle first?" Excited nodding! She liked them, but she wanted a battle first. Kind of understandable, yea.
With a quick grin, hunter looked at Osmium and then back to the Axew. "Well, we can give you that, lets go find somewhere to battle!" He piped up with a broad grin, standing up with Osmium clinging onto one of his arms. The group of now four walked outside and found a good area to start a fight. "Lets do this! Osmium, get out there." Now was the time to think though. His Abra only knew three moves, and could only teleport so much in one day. He even recently moved Hunter with a teleport as well, so he didn't want to push Osmium on that. Shadow ball and Energy Ball is was. Maybe he could balance it to get a couple of good strikes in on the Axew.
The Axew moved first after a moment, coming at her opponent with a Dragon Claw at the ready, and that was good. Osmium, without command, immediately did as he read on Hunter's mind, a soft but somehow threatening 'Abraaaaa' hissed out of his mouth. "Nice Teleport buddy! Shadow Ball!" Almost right on command, Osmium launched a swift ball of dark energy towards the Dragon type, striking and knocking her back. The dragon gave out an angry growl, only earning a small head tilt from Osmium.
Gathering up energy in her mouth, the small dragon mustered up some force that... well, Hunter didn't see it coming, but he knew that Osmium would probably react quickly enough to get out of the way. Though the resulting blast was enough to disturb the hair on hunter's head. Shocking Hunter, not only was he quite literally almost blown away from the attack, watching Osmiums Aura disappear, only to reappear seriously stressed him out. For a moment, he thought he got hit by whatever it was that just shot past him. Thankfully, from what he could tell, the blast had only sort of caught a part of Osmium, resulting in only a mild injury to one of his arms. "I.. Don't know what that was exactly, but energy ball!"
Whatever the Axew did left her kind of in a daze, which was fine by him. Though he did feel a little bad about striking her while she was in a daze. The Energy Ball connected and knocked her back. She stayed down and that gave Hunter a fine opportunity to fish out an empty pokeball to throw at the aura laying on the ground. Watching the light withdraw into the ball, he stared at it for a moment, entirely unsure of what to expect. This was his first catch, but according to his Uncle, most pokemon had a tendency to break free from the Pokeball. Even when down, some of them had a surprising amount of energy left, or sometimes the ball seemed to just fail on that moment. He wasn't exactly sure how these things worked.
