A smile was on Aurora’s face as she carried the same tools that many Verian trainers used to dig, including a shovel, pick, and a foldable sifting tray, and a few other things to fill just about every single need that someone could run into in the Tunnels. There were a few variations that dealt with some specific needs in Faraday or Pahala, but she had the Tunnels variant, and it wasn’t exactly hard to get those extra tools, not that she needed them. And of course, she wasn’t alone; this time, though, she didn’t have Blizzard. Instead, she had Frost; there were a lot of Pokémon in the Tunnels lately, which meant that it was a wonderful opportunity for some trainer, on top of some digging. She looked down at the Amaura, giving her a bright beam of a smile, getting the same back before she bounded down the steps towards the Tunnels, only slowing down when she realized that her fossil Pokémon was having just a little bit of trouble keeping up.

Frost may have needed a little help getting down the steps, but it didn’t slow her down too much; she just had shorter legs than most things that use the stairs. Before long, though, Aurora got the Rock-type down and went right to digging, pulling out her shovel, giving it a fancy twirl, then stabbing it into the wall. It felt good to be back underground digging again; it wasn’t exactly her element, but she’d been at it for so long that she had actually grown to love digging. It was a mess and hard work, but so was Pokémon training, and training had the benefit of stronger Pokémon. Digging had the benefit of not only money, but pretty marbles and gems, some of which she’s actually kept over the years. As if responding to her very thoughts, Aurora pulled her shovel out of the dirt, and even that slight shifting revealed to her a gorgeous gem, one that glinted with every color. She couldn’t help but squeal softly, snatching it and dropping her shovel in almost the same motion, grinning and giggling as she twisted it between her fingers. Around here, this particular gem was called ‘the Aurora of the Earth’, and when you held it up to the light, it wasn’t hard to see why. The jewel was an absolute masterpiece, crafted by the earth itself, and honestly? It was one of Aurora’s favorite gems. “Slash! Sandslash!” Aurora blinked, looking over to a Sandslash, easily recognizing it as the Ice variant, though this one’s back had a lot of chips, scars, and missing points, visible even though it was facing her. It was threatening her, holding its claws out, and Aurora looked at it, frowning softly in concern. “A Tundra Sandslash? What are you doing here?” Aurora thought aloud, staring at it, but it didn’t give her much time to think, yelling at her one more time before it rushed in for an attack. Aurora squeaked in response, but her instincts kicked in; she returned her Amaura, the fossil Pokémon holding a powerful type disadvantage, dodging the Sandslash’s warning attack, and threw out a Great Ball, releasing a brown striped Pokémon with a snout. “Earthquake, Glacier!”Her Pokémon let out a loud ‘Swiiiiiiiiiii!’ in response, confirming her order as he lifted his front into the air, then slammed down, Aurora steeling herself as a violent shaking filled the area, dust and dirt dislodging from the surroundings, but the Tunnels more than strong enough to handle an Earthquake, especially from a comparatively measly Swinub. The wild Sandslash didn’t take the attack as well as the surroundings, though, being tossed this way and that, struggling to stand, but as soon as the Earthquake ended, it recovered its bearings quickly, turning to her Pokémon and rushing at him, its claw gleaming like a blade before striking Glacier not once, but twice, Aurora wincing softly as the very clear Metal Claw hit for some extreme damage. Glacier clung on, though, forcing through the pain and jumping away. “Use Earthquake again, Glacier!”Once again, Aurora braced herself as her Pokémon followed her command, unleashing the powerful and easily recognizable Ground-type attack. The wild Pokémon was hit again, but this time, it fell over and didn’t get back up. Aurora stared at it for a moment, concerned it was just playing fainted, but after a moment, she sighed in relief, thanking her Pokémon and pulling out a Super Potion, administering it before walking over to the wild Sandslash. She crouched down, gingerly patting it. She actually recognized this Sandslash, now that she was getting a good look at it; it was a strong Pokémon that marked its territory near here. “You must be having a tough time with all of the Tundra Sandshrew popping up around here? Defending your territory and all of that...” Despite the Pokémon being out cold entirely, she smiled reassuringly at it, putting a Sitrus Berry in front of it for later. “Well, don’t worry, I’m not here to take your territory.”Standing up again, she gathered her things, smiling at her Swinub. “Come on, let’s move on somewhere else.”[OOC: Grabbing the Prismatic Gem[/url]

Aurora didn’t want to make relations with the local Pokémon worse – not to mention that she knew this particular Pokémon. He was tough and distant, but he was nice enough if you respect his space... which, come to think of it, described a lot of Ice-types, although he was surlier than most. She felt a little bad about battling it, but he didn’t give her much of a choice... at least it was good training. He was a strong Sandslash, which was good experience for Glacier. She smiled when she found a new spot to dig, pulling out her shovel again and stabbing the wall. She went back to her treasure hunting, humming that tune she liked to hum as she went back to sifting through dirt. It didn’t take her too long to find something, either; after a dozen or so shovelfuls of dirt, she found a familiar stone, far too smooth to be just buried under the ground. She found another one of these not too long ago, so she knew exactly what it was; it was an Oval Stone, and she decided to pocket it. It wasn’t much, but she heard of someone wanting one, and she was happy to help. “Swinub, Swi!” Suddenly Aurora’s Pokémon called, pointing down the tunnel, turning Aurora’s gaze down in, going wide-eyed and gasping when she saw the two Pokémon traveling down the tunnels. She shoved her hands into her pockets, pulling out a PokéGear and opening a little tabbed section she had to herself, and when she saw it, she grinned wide. Yes! Just as she thought, these were the last two Pokémon she needed to complete her collection of Ice-type Pokémon. How lucky she was to find them not only in one day, but at the same time, too! She couldn’t help but squeal and giggle, bouncing softly at this news. Even so, with a grin, she reacted quickly, returning her Swinub and running forward to step in front of the two Pokémon, puffing her chest out proudly and putting her hands on her hips. “Hello, you two adooorable little Pokémon!” She stared down the two for a split moment, then pulled two Poké Balls out with both of her hands. “I’m the Gym Leader of Aleal, and I’ve been looking for two Pokémon just like you!” The two Pokémon were surprised, of course, but they saw the Poké Balls and returned the leader’s smirk, getting into a battle position as she threw the orbs out. They opened, releasing the Amaura that she had brought into the Tunnels with her and a Snorunt, the two Pokémon hitting the ground, Amaura wagging her little tail while her Snorunt pulled its shell around itself, shivering excitedly. “Frost! Hailstone! Let’s give these Pokémon an awesome battle!”“Amaura-Snorunt!” The two Pokémon responded in unison, then the Amaura let out a loud, long cry, almost singing as it summoned a gray cloud above everyone, above the entire battlefield, creating a cloud that started pouring ice pellets down on all of the combatants. Snow Warning wouldn’t be particularly useful, but it wasn’t like Frost could help it too much. The Delibird was first to react to this, rushing forward towards Frost. Aurora knew the perfect counter, but she needed it to get close. “Take a hit, Frost! Then give it a Discharge!” Ordering her other Pokémon, she pointed at the Smoochum that was glaring at Snorunt, whipping winds around herself. “Get in close, Hail, and use Crunch!” Amaura was nervous, dodging one or two swipes before the Delibird used Drill Peck. As ordered, though, she took the hit, steeling the not-very-effective attack before pushing her head into the Pokémon, letting out a powerful explosion of electricity – an explosion that, thanks to the extreme closeness, focused entirely into the Flying-type. Hailstone ran towards the wild Smoochum, and though he was knocked back by the Smoochum’s Blizzard, he regained his grounding easily, closing the distance despite being knocked back and biting down HARD on the Smoochum, taking a not-very-effective attack and returning a super-effective one. The wild Pokémon were seriously hurt, but not quite down for the count yet. Aurora beamed both proudly and happily, thrusting her hand forward. “Discharge! Icy Wind!” Her two Pokémon let out cries and unleashed their attacks, Hailstone blasting a freezing wind out of his mouth , striking both Pokémon before being struck by the electrical wave, though the second attack continued on and knocked out the wild Pokémon. With a squee and a giggle, Aurora rushed forward, throwing out two new Poké Balls to encapsulate and absorb the wild Pokémon. (OOC: Claiming Oval Stone)

Aurora stared at the two Poké Balls – one Repeat, one Premier - biting her lip and squirming softly. She hoped, she prayed, practically, that the two would stay in their Poké Balls. In fact, the way she so fervently, so passionately hoped for it, one could almost say she was as excited as her first catch. She was even holding her breath until the Poké Balls stopped, letting out that tone, making her grin wide, snatching both of them up and holding them in the air. “YES! I CAUGHT THE LAST TWO POKÉMON I NEED FOR THE GYM!” She squealed and giggled, running over to her Snorunt and hugging it, pulling her Amaura in, too. “And it’s all thanks to you two~! You guys did great! I’m proud of you!” She giggled and grinned, cuddling and squeezing and celebrating with her Pokémon until she got it out of system, standing up and sighing happily, staring at the two balls in her hands. “The very last two... now it’s just a matter of training... bringing out the best in everyone.” Aurora’s smile faded into a faint, comfortable one, closing her eyes and putting them away, crouching down to her two Pokémon and treating their injuries. “Come on, guys. You wanna help me out with some digging? A little gentle work after battling so amazingly?” Of course, her Pokémon were happy to oblige – in fact, that was why she came down here with Amaura from the beginning, before she had a massive type disadvantage. Smiling brightly again, she leaned back up, grabbing her tools and digging with her Pokémon. Her luck might have been amazing finding the last couple Pokémon she needed, but that seemed to eat up a lot of her luck. She spent quite a long time digging with her Pokémon, stabbing the wall, moving the dirt, and putting it through the sifter, so long that her arms got sore, so long that they moved to several areas before eventually setting her shovel down to sit against the wall. For a moment, she pouted, but she honestly couldn’t help but smile and giggle a little, even as her Pokémon walked up to her to try to console her. “Hahaha, don’t worry guys, I’m okay, just sore. Break time for all of us!” Aurora closed her eyes, leaning back and petting her Pokémon idly. “Kinda funny, isn’t it? We find the last two Pokémon we need for the gym, and then we work until we’re sore to find nothing in these walls.” Her Pokémon made a few comments, but she just shrugged lightly, honestly in too good a mood to be pulled down too much. If she didn’t find anything else for the day, well, that would be just fine by her – after all, her new Pokémon would last for a very long time, two friends that would battle by her side. Besides, surely if she lost all of her luck for today, she could just come back another day. For a while, she just relaxed, long enough for her to recover her strength, but before she could get up, two Pokémon suddenly burst out of the wall across from her, making Aurora jump and hold her heart. Her two Pokémon immediately jumped in front of her to protect her, letting her scramble up as the wild Pokémon gathered their bearings, then looked her Ice-types down. “Another battle, more training! Awesome! Hail, let’s focus on the Sableye! Frost, the other one! Thunder Wave and Crunch!”Her Pokémon let out cries of confirmation, Frost throwing her head up and letting out a melodious cry, Snow Warning activating again before stepping a foot forward, electricity sparking around her head’s sails before shooting out to strike the Normal-type Pokémon. Hailstone rushed forward as the electricity sparked beside him, jumping on the Sableye and giving it a tremendous bite on the arm. Wind whipped around the now-paralyzed Dunsparce, whirling before flying at Amaura, striking Frost and making her stumble slightly, but she had the type advantage, easily withstanding the strike. Then, the Sableye let out a creepy, inhuman cry, sending a shudder through Aurora’s spine before it pulled its hand out of Hail’s mouth and unleashed a maelstrom of clawed strikes, yelling crazily as the wild Pokémon drove Hail back before kicking him away. It was then struck by the ice pellets of the Hail, though, as well as the other Pokémon. “Discharge, Aurora cried out again, “and Icy Wind!”Her Pokémon followed their orders again, and despite Hail taking a hard strike, the two struck the wild Pokémon with a powerful one-two punch, electricity coursing through the Pokémon’s bodies before enduring a whirlwind of cold air. The wild Pokémon couldn’t take this onslaught and fell back against the wall. They recovered enough, though, to look at the trained Pokémon and realized they were outmatched, diving back into the wall to dig away. Aurora frowned as they did, disappointed that she wouldn’t be able to help them recover, but one of them flung out an odd stone along with the dirt, an absolutely gorgeous rainbow stone that Aurora couldn’t help but pick up, staring at it with fascination. Aurora rolled the stone gently between her fingers, staring at it in awe. It was a rainbow stone, an utterly GORGEOUS one, one of the most beautiful stones she had ever seen! But, there was something odd about it – aside from its color, at least. It felt... odd... like there was some sort of power waiting within. And there was a sigil within, a symbol of... something. Her first instinct thought some sort of lost jewelry, but for some reason, that didn’t feel quite right. Regardless, she pocketed the stone and turned to her Pokémon, smiling proudly as she crouched down to their level. “You guys did great! Sorry about that Discharge, Hail. I know it hurt, but you took it like a champ.” Hail pouted, still twitching lightly, but he took the apology as she patted him and looked at Frost. “You did great, too, I just wanna try to get rid of that Discharge though, ya know?” Frost smiled and nodded as Aurora pulled out their respective Poké Balls, one Ultra, one Timer. “I don’t have any more potions, but you two go ahead and have a have a good rest.” Both Pokémon smiled and cried happily as they were returned to their Poké Balls. “Geodude!” “Whaaa!?” Aurora whirled around, taking a battle stance on pure instinct, looking around before looking down at a Geodude holding a stone over its head. It stared at her, then tossed it aside, pounding the ground before giving Aurora a ‘come at me’ gesture. Aurora was surprised, blinking softly, but she smirked, more than happy to oblige, pulling out an Ultra Ball, tossing it in the air, yelling, “You want a fight? I’ll give you one!”In a flash of soft yellow, a Swinub appeared, hitting the ground, sniffing a bit before locking onto the wild Pokémon. “Sorry I don’t plan to make it real easy! Glacier, Earthquake!” Glacier let out a cry, slamming his feet into the ground, causing the entire Tunnels to shake, causing dirt to shake from the ceiling. The Geodude was knocked up and down, left and right, but it didn’t couldn’t gather its bearings, the attack to powerful to it to handle. Aurora ordered another Earthquake, steeling herself again for the shaking when the Geodude fell unconscious. Aurora smiled, complimenting and thanking her Pokémon, as she tossed a Pokémon, not long after grabbing the rock that the Pokémon had thrown away, studying it. [OOC: Claiming Dome Fossil]
