I’ve never seen a place quite like it… The line of her eyes lingering on the horizon, Sophie Sequoia had to admit there was something quite unusual about the way that the fields and mountains slowly drifted past her. Almost like being on a ferry or something but absent the slow rise and fall of the waves, the steady journey of this behemoth of a train felt smooth, so smooth in fact that that one could easily forget that they were moving at all.
It’s actually quite nice… Skeptical at first as to how people could live their lives aboard something like this but finding her doubt largely dispelled now she was on the ‘Sinclair Line’, as Sophie had spent less than an hour on this eternally rolling set of carriages and now barely even noticed the subtle sounds of the train moving along, first-hand experience had quickly indicated that a person could rapidly adapt to this odd way of living. However, Miss Sequoia hadn’t come to this odd environment in order to enjoy the ride.
Given how unique this location is, I wonder what influence it has had on the natives? Turning from the large window through which she had wistfully been observing stretches of plains and the odd ranch that rolled past her, the young researcher supported her elbow with her other hand as she tapped her chin softly and thoughtfully. Stepping off almost on autopilot, whilst it could be supposed that many who stepped onto Sinclair might head to accommodations or the marketplace, this pink headed woman had other intentions.
I’ve never really heard of Pokémon living on a train, other than those travelling with their trainers… Though I suppose this isn’t any ordinary train? The Compartments of the carriage which passed her by looking more like buildings as she moved by them, Sophie had come to this locomotive locale because of her fondness for seeing which Pokémon had adapted to the situation and how they had done so. Quiet and her mind full of questions and she moved towards the areas which she guessed might see less footfall than others, the young woman felt a little excited inside as she wondered just what she might discover about the monsters of this moving metropolis…

This… Isn’t what I was expecting! Delving into the depths of the mobile metropolis known as Sinclair, though Sophie Sequoia had been hoping to discover something beyond the usual rodent and nesting Pokémon that one usually expected to find in the nooks and crannies of the world, she had never imagined stumbling across something quite so out of place! A jagged looking reptile lurching out of the darkness toward her in the moments before, the young scholar was left staring at a fearsome looking Druddigon as it growled at her menacingly.
I suppose the bowels of this train might remind it of a cave? Shoulders tense and heart racing, though the situation had left her a little bit rattled Sophie retained a scientific perspective as she reached for the Pokémon she had brought along. Forcing herself perhaps to focus on the technical apsects of the encounter rather than break into a panic, she plucked an orb from her waist and hurled forward a defender that appeared even daintier than she was.
“You’ll have no problem with even a Dragon as rough around the edges as this, right Bouquet?” A small and spritely being emerging from the splitting sphere that seemed to hover in mid-air upon a flower shaking her head in response to the question of Miss Sequoia, things certainly seemed like a David and Goliath contest as the defender of the damsel appeared to be dwarfed by her foe. Sophie, however, appeared to be confident.
Is it trying to scare her away? The brow of the fair haired beauty raising a little as her opponent seemed to simply howl and raise its clawed forearms, the scholar felt a little confusion as this fearsome foe seemed almost cautious in its approach to them but took little time to dwell on the matter. Happy to see that she and Bouquet didn’t have to dodge around some wild claw strike or jet of draconic flame, Miss Sequoia nodded and opted to go on the offensive, choosing the strongest move her floating fairy could provide.
“Bouquet, show this brute the brilliance of your Moonblast!” Even a rookie trainer being aware of the ‘elemental’ dominance that fairy types tended to show over dragons, with an efficiency bordering on ruthlessness Sophie showed little regard for the posturing of her foe. Beckoning her partner into action and impressed by the result, as an orb of glittering pink colour was unleashed by her Flabébé, the young woman smirked for a second as she watched as an explosion of light engulfed her foe. The dragon a little further along the carriage howling in pain as it was hit by the attack, the young woman waited expectantly for it to fall, but found her calculations to have been a little bit off.
It’s tougher than I thought! Expecting her ferocious foe to flop over from the force that her fellow femme and unfurled, it was disheartening and rather distressing to discover that the Druddigon had been wounded but not beaten. Panting hard as its body seemed now scarred by burn marks, while the dragon looked a little on the wobbly side it also seemed more than happy to respond to provocation it had been given and launched itself forward to give itself the opportunity to surprise Miss Sequoia once more.
Lashing out with a clawing move that seemed lacking the usual draconic aura, the ‘protection’ offered by Bouquet’s type advantage seemed a null point in regard to a move that was simple brute force. The Flabébé that the foxy femme had summoned now being the one to cry out, Sophie felt her heart throb as her partner wailed with anguish, being hit so hard with a clubbing claw strike that she was sent spinning backward whilst desperately trying to hold onto her floral chariot.
“Bouquet!” The head of the young professor snapping around as she spotted her sylph squirming and trying to stay aloft her flower, it took only the few moments of concern for their growling enemy to gain on the pair. The Druddigon definitely seeming to recognise Sophie’s role in the hurt it had suffered, she let out a short and sharp squeak as she spotted the dragon drawing back a paw to swipe at her too, bracing herself for an impact that was likely gonna leave her stringing rather badly. Fortunately for the fox, something happened that protected her from that particularly hurt.
A high pitched yelp emerging from the diminutive little fighter as she saw her trainer in danger, seemingly on instinct the tiny fairy seemed to summon an impressively sizable response. The carriage filling with the same pink coloured energy that Bouquet had spat at the Druddigon shortly before but in a much broader range, a feeling of warmth flooded Sophie’s body, as if she had been wrapped in cotton wool for a few seconds. The dragon, however, seemed to feel something rather different.
Hissing as its body was enveloped in a light that seemed soft, gentle and inviting to the pink haired girl, this jagged monster seemed to find the sensation rather abhorrent, as if it was being bombarded with fire or electricity or something. Left trembling by this almost innocent move and stumbling backward from a hurt that Sophie couldn’t seem to detect, it appeared as if the Druddigon had suffered a rather severe shock to its system.
“T-Thanks, Bouquet!” The light that Bouquet created dying away and leaving the slumping shape of their attacker on the ground, the young woman flashed a fast and thankful nod toward her wheezing and wounded partner before tossing for a fresh Pokéball to snare the enemy they had just beaten. The dragon definitely something of a threat to people who might have happened upon it in the deep darkness, though Sophie might have liked that to have been her only motivation for the capture of this Druddigon, at the same time she couldn’t help but feel a range of reasons to consider it a great research subject. She just had to wait for her Pokéball to settle…
A Wild Druddigon Appeared! Sophie used Flabébé!
Druddigon used Hone Claws! It’s Attack and Accuracy Grew! Flabébé used Moonblast! It’s Super Effective! 60% Damage! Druddigon used Slash! 80% Damage! Flabébé used Dazzling Gleam! It’s Super Effective! Druddigon was wiped out!
