Bailey heard Yami let out her usual creepy laugh, and wondered what she found so funny before seeing a Minior lit up in his flashlight's beam. It didn't take long to realise what Yami wanted, as it had been a while since Bailey had let her out of the ball. It made sense that she would be ready to have her own kind of fun, and Bailey was inclined to let her. "Fine, go ahead. Just don't go too far and bring the place down on us somehow."



The albino Haunter obliged by letting out another laugh and flying straight towards the living meteor, body phasing out right before she reached it. She went through the rock, the Minior shuddering and letting out a strange noise in pain as she did. Coming through the other side she turned around, lightning crackling between her hands as they were held together in front of her, before releasing the bolt and striking the rock again, causing the shell to fall away and leave the glowing core exposed.



Before Yami could unleash another attack the roof of the tunnel lit up, some kind of energy tearing it apart. Bailey had no time to react before a Slakoth dropped through and it fell onto the ground, simply laying there like it's kind was wont to do. "Yami, knock it out for a second!" A swift thunderbolt later and the Slakoth seemed to have succumb to the combination of its sudden displacement and the attack. Either that or it was asleep.



"This thing came from somewhere. Maybe it could help to figure out where that somewhere is, hey?" He tossed a Pokeball at it, hoping it did have some kind of importance and he wasn't wasting energy on a sloth. As it disappeared into the Pokeball and he waited to see if it would stay there, he saw a slip of paper on the ground. On closer inspection it was an official paper with the League, which just intensified the mystery, and so he slipped it into his pocket.

The Pokeball stopped moving around as the Slakoth was successfully captured, and Bailey bent down to pick it up. Standing up he placed the ball back in his bag and promptly put it out of his mind to refocus on his actual reason for being here. The pair continued their walk through the darkness in silence, the only sound Bailey's footsteps against the earthen floor. It wasn't his first time down in the tunnels or anything, but it always had a scary vibe when on his own.



It was a weird sight when he came across some kind of odd bracelet thing, looking to be made of some kind of almost metallic stone. Bailey grabbed at it, turning it over to see what it was, and noted the slots all over. They looked to actually be the right size to hold gems like one he had come across, a while back, and he fished out the light blue crystal to test his theory. It fit perfectly, going in and locking in place. That just let him know that he was right about there being more of them, and it seemed like they were meant to be put together for some reason.



The movement and shine of the bracelet and crystal acted as a lure to the as yet unseen resident of that part of the tunnels, a Skarmory that had made it's nest in the walls. A short metallic scraping was the only warning they had before it burst from its hiding spot, aiming straight for Bailey's new find and grasping with it's talons to steal them away. Yami's fist flashed in to punch the steel bird just in time to knock it off course, the Haunter not laughing this time as it was ready to defend Bailey from an actual danger.



Yami lashed out with her fist again, shadows wrapping around it to reinforce the hit, and she started a barrage of the punches. The Skarmory faltered at first, but launched an Air Cutter to counter. The two traded blows for what seemed like minutes, but was really only about 10 seconds, before the bird collapsed under the relentless shadow's assault. Yami wasn't looking too good though, and so before the fighting could resume Bailey through a ball at the bird, hoping to capture it and at the very least keep Yami from getting hurt more.

The Skarmory stayed in the Pokeball, apparently not looking for any more of a fight, and promptly joined the Slakoth in Bailey's pack. He moved to Yami's side now that the danger was out of the way, checking for any major injuries, but saw that the extent of the fight's consequences seemed to be bruises. A light suddenly came from Yami, emanating from her body and quickly growing in intensity until Bailey had to look away.

The light went away just as quickly as it appeared, and Bailey looked back to see his newly evolved Gengar. It was the same white colour that she was when she was a Haunter, but now had a rounded body with actual arms and legs. Glowing blue eyes stared back at him, and a massive smile was plastered on her face. The fight and energy used by the evolution took there toll almost instantly, and she collapsed, having fainted. Bailey withdrew her into his Pokeball, before standing up and moving on.

Not wanting to travel without some kind of protection, Bailey retrieved another of his Pokeballs, releasing the Gible inside. It was one of his lesser used Pokemon, but recently he had thought that training it up might be worth it, as they tended to become quite powerful. The ground typing of the small dragon would also hopefully help in the Tunnels.

They came into sight of an odd occurrence, a Hitmonchan punching the wall repeatedly as though trying to dig through it and create another tunnel. It didn't attack them, but it did send the pair a glare that warned them to stay away. Bailey was about to take that unspoken advice and back away to find another way through, but the Gible didn't like that, and charged by itself. It jumped up and swiped at the human like Pokemon, scoring a hit, but the Hitmonchan turned and lashed out with a punch that was almost too fast to see sending the dragon back through the air.

Twisting in the air it started digging through the earth instead of just landing, and a few seconds later it popped out of the ground and slammed his head against the Hitmonchan. Taking advantage of the minor stumble Gible activated a burst of draconic energy, forming it into the shape of a claw that rested on its arm. The Hitmonchan recovered and adopted a stance before launching a punch aimed to meet the claw attack, and it looked to be about to do so and beat the Gible until it activated dig again, sinking into the ground once again and the punch went through where it was a second ago.

Bailey was impressed at the use of Dragon Claw as a distraction, noting how it could be used in a more official battle, even as Gible once again launched out of the ground and struck the fighting Pokemon. This time it didn't just stumble, but fell over and stayed on the ground, sprawled out and apparently unconscious. "Not bad little buddy, but you're going to have to learn how to listen a bit. And I really need to find you a name." He threw out a Pokeball for the third time, figuring that a strong fighting type was worth having if possible.

He also checked out where the Hitmonchan had been digging, and found a strange marble-like gem that he put into his pack with the hopes of selling it later. He was sure someone would want it.

As Bailey stooped down to pick up the now occupied Pokeball, a loud whistling sound echoed through the tunnel before something exploded right next to him. Shining the light in the direction the sound had come from, he saw a Duskull, charging up power in the form of a ball made from shadows before firing it at him, this time on target. Before he could get hit, Gible charged in, activating Dragon Claw and slicing at the Shadow Ball, the two energies colliding in an explosion.



Using the clash as a smokescreen Gible dug into the ground again, heading straight for the target with a strategy he knew worked. When he launched himself to attack however, the Duskull expertly drifted out of reach before quickly slamming into the Gible with a weird screaming shout. It didn't seem to do that much actual damage, but Gible was shocked into inaction for a few seconds, long enough for another Shadow Ball to be formed. Rather than let himself be hit by it or try and block it, Gible took a different approach.



Forming the dragon Claw again, he swiped, not intending to cause another explosion but instead using the energy as protection to grab the ball, and try slamming it back into its creator. The two struggled, Gible pushing with every bit of strength it had while the Duskull exerted it's own mental strength, but after a brief fight of will Gible succeeded, the ball making its way into the Duskull and exploding. It collapsed from sheer exhaustion, the struggle taking most of both Pokemon's energy and the attack sapping what was left. Bailey tossed another Pokeball at it, more out of habit than actually finding the Pokemon amazingly interesting.



Turning to Gible, who was now breathing rather heavily but happy to be victorious, he figured it was time to go. "Alright buddy, Dig us a way out of this place so we can get you and Yami looked at." The small dragon was all too happy to obliged, burrowing through the wall. As Bailey followed behind, placing the ball in his pack whether the ghost was caught or not, he piicked up a crystal that was excavated by his Pokemon. Recognising the shape, he placed it in his new bracelet, and made a mental note that he'd definitely have to research them later.
