Faraday was such a stark difference compared to the ever so quiet and small city of Alto. The entire city was caked with all sorts of technology that Emily couldn't even dream up, the things in this place....made her old world look like a relic of the past. She liked technology but not enough to sit down and play with it like her son, he had a better hand with this kind of thing. But she knew how to use most basic devices like home appliances and the televison. She even knew how to use a cell phone, she just chooses not to use it often. But don't ask her anything about the computer, she knows enough to get to a specific site she needs to on and then turning it off when she was done with it. Nonetheless the city looked stunning to her.
Emily looked up to her son, Azrael. This was his first time into the large city and he wore this stank face that Emily did ever see. She sighed and crossed her arms, shaking her head.
"You know dearie, if you faced this with a much better look it wouldn't be as dreadful."
The dark hair young man looked down at his mother and huffed in annoyance, when she told him they were going into city he was initially thrilled. But when she told them why they were going into the city he made the face and has stuck since. She was teaching him the importance of taking care of himself, living out in the forest as they do is very harsh on their bodies. So it was important that they get looked at by doctors, Emily learned this lesson during her pregnancy. In her shattered memories she remembered how painful and unforgiving child birth was, however when she came here...everything was so much more different. Women actually didn't die as much from child birth, when where she had been it was almost common.
With the help of the doctors and nurses, she never felt her life was being lost. She followed their care guide and went to follow up check ups after she gave birth and she was feeling good after a while and not on bed rest for months like her mother was when she had her. It was then that she was convinced of the importance of the medical field and equally important it was for one to look after themselves.
"Tch, but I don't need to get my eyes looked at mother. I can see just fine." He pouted, her son was so cute sometimes when he was annoted but this was pushing it. She shook her head and glared at him from the side of her eyes.
"Well if you can see just fine, then let's make sure it stays that way." Her voice was firmer as to goad him into saying anything else. From the corner of her eye she could see he just frowned more, obviously not wanting to test any waters. "Besides, this doctor was very hard to track. There aren't many in her field in this region, and you haven't even seen an eye doctor once. You are going and we will do follow ups if we have to."
The young man sighed, there was nothing more to be said as they entered the clinic where the Doctor worked. Azrael dropped himself into one of the seats in the waiting room while Emily gathered the necesarry paperwork to get her son looked at. Normally her usual attire is what she would be seen in but decided to something and outfit more city like but still to her tastes. She took a seat by her son and started doing the paperwork, it didn't take long to finish and submitted the papers to the front desk clerk and simply waited for her son to be called. The young man, still frowning was texting a few friends while Emily pulled out a book to read.
