He’s so goofy sometimes it’s easy to miss that big brain… Smiling as once again her auburn haired ally pulled out something intelligent and interesting from his well-developed mind, Sophie was quiet for a moment as she digested the fresh factoid and found herself more enthralled by the man describing the clawed creature than the beast itself. Something of a star attraction himself, had he not been snapped up by the call of academia, the pink haired professor could well imagine her peer as a tour guide for somewhere rather impressive, leading bright minds around ancient or important sites and leaving them wiser than when they arrived. But then, if that was the case, she would likely have to snatch him up and make him her favourite lab assistant, simply because it was starting to feel a bit ‘wrong’ to imagine herself in her current position without him to take along on her endeavours. In many ways, Luke Indigo had become her man Friday, even if she hadn’t known him more than a few weeks.
“Fascinating… I wonder which benefits more from the move? The monster with the same type or with the firepower increasing ability?” Bobbing her brows as she showed off her own keen intellect, Sophie mused aloud as she questioned how these two diverse breeds could use the same move despite their differences. Clauncher a pokemon she was familiar with from the time she had spent in Alola, while she could not currently count on either of these as research subjects.
“Perhaps it would be an interesting study to take part in? Though, Lucario is a somewhat rare pokemon in these parts, isn’t it? Though I suppose there aren’t many places in the world where even Riolu tends to roam free? I’ve heard if one looks in the right place in Kalos they might find the odd specimen but other than that…” The matter becoming entirely theoretical for the moment as Miss Sequoia considered the logistics, unknown to her as she jabbered on, the Clauncher they were admiring had decided to drift off somewhere else. Using that claw like a jet to send itself shooting away in the blink of an eye, as Sophie turned her attention back to the window she blinked and then giggled at the loss, but was not disappointed for long.
“Seems the matter might need to stay a hypothetical for the time being, our subject seems to have left us!” Smirking as she scanned the glass for a sign of the blasting blue lobster but not finding a single hint as the water concealed it so well, instead the professor found her eyeline drawn toward something else, something that spoke to the little girl inside her.
“Oooooh! A Seel!” Giddily grinning and giggling as the chubby white body of a mammalian diver drifted past and flicked its water-spout shaped tail, for a second Miss Sequoia wondered if she should try and capture this specimen before she let it get away, but curbed her impulse.
No, no, no! I had better be catching at least one pokemon to study! Deciding that she had come to do research rather than fill her own girlish desires for cute pokemon, with a bit of a heavy heart the pink haired young woman gave a wave to the adorable aquatic animal, and felt her resolve melting away quickly as it seemed to wave back to her…
