It was one of Thomas' days off from the office, and the trainer didn't feel like sitting around the house. Normally, the job gave him plenty of action to keep him content, enough that he could stand to be cooped up in the house on those days off. However, Thomas simply felt like going on an adventure today. And considering that the shopping district would be a nightmare to navigate, with the holidays fast approaching, Thomas went to one of his favorite haunts. The wilderness. The Kalosian wasn't alone, of course. Aside from Pokemon to defend him, he would bring along a young Riolu, one that he had been entrusted to watch over for a friend. The little one felt like going on an adventure himself, so Thomas figured it was a good idea to bring him along. It wouldn't take long for Thomas to hear something in the foliage. The sounds of distinctive footsteps, as if he was being followed. Thomas would glance around as he continued, a hand reaching for the nearest Pokeball, being ready to dodge when something came at him. Of course, his stalker would take their time, waiting to see what their prey would do. Finally, a powerful gust of wind would topple Thomas over, before his stalker would leap out of the surrounding trees. The Shiftry looked down at Thomas, a mischievous expression on her face as she now stood in the way of the trainer that came into her territory. But rather than attack the downed trainer, the Shiftry would instead allow the human to bring out his Pokeball, as if challenging him to battle. Thankfully, the wind in question was only powerful enough to knock the trainer down, and not blow him into any of the trees. The trainer scrambled to his feet, and quickly brought out his Dratini. The Dratini bounced on his tail excitedly, looking at his opponent, who looked at the serpentine dragon, and back at the human, baffled by his choice. Nevertheless, the Shiftry wasted no time in unleashing a Leaf Storm at the Dratini, attempting to envelop it, and do some damage. However, the Dratini moved out of the way of the attack, dashing out of its path with an Extreme Speed. The Shiftry looked on in shock as the Dratini seemingly teleported out of the way, before the dragon would perform a Dragon Dance, increasing his mobility, as well as his fighting spirit. Narrowing her eyes at the dragon, she would unleash as Hurricane at the Dratini. However, the dragon would easily maneuver out of the way of the blast of wind, due to how hard it was for the Dark-type to control. He would then charge at the Shiftry with a Dragon Rush, slamming into the Shiftry, and causing her to be knocked down. With an enraged grunt, the Shiftry would leap back to her feet, ready to take on the Dratini again. She would charge up another wind-based attack. The serpent would charge her with another Dragon Rush, intent on ending the fight before she could get off her next attack. However, the Shiftry quickly moved out of the way at the last moment, letting the Dratini sail past her before unleashing the Razor Wind at the Dratini. The dragon cried out in pain as he was struck by the sharp, focused gust of wind. He would turn to face the Shiftry, discharging a short burst of electricity towards her as she got ready to follow up on the attack. The Thunder Wave managed to hit her, causing her movements to become stifled. The Shiftry attempted to unleash the Hurricane, only to find she couldn't move her body to go through with the attack. All she could to was look on in shock as the Dratini charged her for one last Dragon Rush, knocking her out with the next hit. "Great work~", Thomas called out to the Dratini, patting the dragon on the head as the creature bounced up and down excitedly, taking in the affection of his master. Thomas looked down at the unconscious Shiftry, and after a moment of thought, pulled out an Ultra Ball. Thomas would tap the unconscious Shiftry with the Ultra Ball, absorbing the creature into the ball. There wasn't much fight to the opposing Pokemon as the ball weakly struggled, before letting of that familiar spark, giving Thomas all the indication he needed that the Shiftry was now his. With a grin, Thomas let the ball go to the PC for processing. The trainer recalled his Dratini, giving the dragon some rest. As he went further into the woods, he would see that the area was covered in spores, no doubt the sign of a turf war between Parasect and Shiinotic. Thomas pulled a cloth over his face, and proceeded through the area with caution, a hand at another Pokeball. What he'd find instead was the aftermath of the battle. The Parasect on the ground had all fallen, and the lone Shiinotic in the middle of it was on his last legs. He looked up at the trainer, too weak to fight back. Thomas would look on, noticing how grave the wounds on the Pokemon were. Seeing as it was the most merciful thing he could do, Thomas took out a special Pokeball, and assured the Shiinotic. "I'm gonna get you some treatment, alright?", he said, before tapping it with the ball's mechanism. ((Using Thomas' Star Ball. Thomas would watch as the wounded Shiinotic got sucked into the Star Ball. He could only hope that the creature would cooperate with him, and not put up a fight. After watching the ball gently struggle, he would feel a wave of relief wash over him as the sparks flew. He would send the creature to his PC, where it would hopefully receive some prompt medical attention.
As for the Parasect in the area, he would determine that they were still alive, or at least as alive as they could be. Most importantly, their wounds were not nearly as severe as the Shiinotic's wounds, having only been incapacitated. Granted, he figured that if they ganged up on the Shiinotic, in order for it to have come out on top, it would have to use more pragmatic tactics, as opposed to the group, who could try to tear it apart as a team.
Eventually, they'd wake up, and be able to lick their wounds. The trainer figured it was for the best that he left them to that, and continued through the forest.
Nearby, a Lopunny spotted the trainer, who still had the cloth over his face. Figuring the worst, the Lopunny dashed ahead of him, before cutting off his path. Thomas looked at the bipedal rabbit, who seemed to be nervous about fighting, but at the same time, looked like she was ready to defend her home.
Upon seeing her, Thomas looked at her, grinning under the mask, and reaching for a Pokeball. The Lopunny looked like she was about ready to back away from the trainer for a moment as he reached for a Pokeball, but decided against retreating, still worried about the trainer hitting her home, and possibly pillaging it. She would let out a halfhearted attempt at a battle cry.
Thomas would send out his friend's Riolu, Cobalt.
"Alright, Cobalt, Agility, then hit the Lopunny with a Force Palm!", Thomas called out.
The Riolu built up his speed, then charged the Lopunny, palm coated in Aura as he got ready to strike. The Lopunny let out a nervous cry as he managed to leap away from the attack, moving safely out of the path. Though panic washed over her for a moment, she pressed on, attempting to swing at the Riolu with a Dizzy Punch.
Surprisingly, she managed to hit the Riolu, who let out a cry of pain as he was struck. Thomas, however, didn't look worried, as he uttered one word.
"Counter."
The Riolu, hearing the command of the trainer, retaliated with a counterattack, one that would send the Lopunny flying into a tree. The Lopunny staggered up to her feet, barely conscious, and scared of what would happen next. However, rather than let up and run away, she would instead attempt to finish off the Riolu. The Lopunny ran at the Riolu, readying herself for a running Dizzy Punch.
"Cobalt, Quick Attack!", Thomas called out.
The Riolu quickly launched into the Lopunny's midsection as she cocked her fist back, causing the rabbit to cry out in pain, and collapse on the spot.
The Riolu jumped for joy, before half-collapsing in exhaustion. Thomas gave the puppy a pet, before recalling him. "Great job, bud, now have a rest.", he told the Riolu as he recalled him.
He would then look at the unconscious Lopunny. The trainer would quickly walk up to her, vacant Ultra Ball in hand, intent on adding her to his family.

Thomas observed the ball weakly shaking back and fourth, before the sparks went off around the mechanism, causing the trainer to grin eagerly. The trainer now had a Lopunny among his family of Pokemon, one of the Pokemon that would be able to benefit from a Mega Stone. All he had to do was earn her trust, and show her that she was indeed a welcome addition to the family.
It was at this point that Thomas noticed that it was starting to quickly get dark outside. The trainer quickly turned around, making his way through the wood, and towards civilization. Thomas quietly noted 'landmarks' on his path, ever since he set off into the woods. It was one of the oldest survival skills he learned, dating back to when his father was preparing him and his twin for the journey that would lay ahead of them.
The only problem was the fact that new hostiles would've found their way on his path while his back was turned, and he would inevitably cross paths with them.
Such as a Noctowl that had come out at night. The bird looked down at the trainer, glaring at him, before swooping down in an attempt to attack him. The Kalosian quickly reacted, rolling out of the path of the Noctowl, before deploying Trodgor the Dratini to fight it off.
The attention of not only the Noctowl, but Thomas himself, would shift to the young Dratini, as its body became bathed in a familiar white light. Thomas instinctively shielded his eyes for what was coming, while the Noctowl could only stare in amazement as the Dratini shifted form, emerging as a Dragonair right before her eyes.
The Noctowl, regaining her focus quickly, fired off a Moonblast at the Dragonair. The serpentine Dragon quickly used Extreme Speed to dash out of the way of the attack effortlessly, before performing a Dragon Dance to increase his strength and speed. He would then lunge at the Noctowl with a Dragon Rush. The Noctowl saw the attack, and glided out of the path narrowly, before setting off an Extrasensory burst at the passing Dragonair. The serpentine dragon cried out in pain, as the Noctowl attempted to go in for the kill with another Moonblast.
Trodgor quickly dashed in close with Extreme Speed, slamming into the bird, before going for another Dragon Rush, this time making contact with the Noctowl. The one-two punch of sorts caused the Noctowl to collide into the tree, before her body would slowly slide down the trunk, the owl landing face down with a thud. Thomas carefully walked over to the Noctowl, checking on her to make sure Trodgor didn't accidentally kill the poor thing.
The Kalosian sighed in relief as he still felt a pulse, and could see her breathing. The trainer quickly brandished an Ultra Ball from his bag, and tapped the evolved bird with it. He knew a few people that would be happy to take a Noctowl.
As for Trodgor, Thomas hugged the lithe serpent gently, smiling at his newly evolved Pokemon. "Congratulations, Trogdor!", Thomas said to the Dragonair, who gently wrapped around his master in an embrace of his own, crying out cheerfully.

As Thomas was making a dash through the woods, noting his surroundings as he went, making sure he was sticking to the correct path back home, he would notice something rustling in the foliage around him. At first, he'd write it off as just a forest dweller, one he could pass by. But as he'd quickly notice, that same rustling was going down the same path as he was, as if whatever it was that was following him was in the foliage.
Thomas immediately stopped, hand hovering over one of his Pokeballs, ready to draw at the first sign of trouble.
But rather than trouble springing out at him, instead, a lone Delibird carrying a sack over her shoulder stumbled towards his feet. The Delibird let out a cry, handing the trainer a familiar looking crystal. Thomas took it, inspecting the Unstable Crystal in question. While he'd have to take it to the right person quickly, it was a nice gift.
But the bag on its shoulder was shaking violently, and the Delibird simply let it go, before running off.
"Thank you!", Thomas called out to the Delibird, before opening the sack carefully.
From the sack, a Teddiursa sprung out. The small bear with the crescent moon-like marking on its forehead looked back to Thomas, glaring at him. She clearly wasn't happy with her situation, and she blamed the trainer, despite the fact that it was the Delibird that abducted her.
Thomas knew that look on her face, and immediately brought out Jin the Snivy. The Snivy looked at her with that usual expression on her face, which the already irate Teddiursa clearly didn't like. Despite this, the Teddiursa put on a Charming front, attempting to lower the Snivy's guard. Instead, all this did was made the Contrarian of a Snivy more wary of her, and caused him further ready himself for battle, his strength increasing instead of dropping.
The Teddiursa was baffled by the fact that the look she shot the Snivy didn't work. Normally, it would be enough to make even the toughest of opponents in the woods drop their guards, and their attacks to weaken, giving her a fighting chance. So why did the Snivy take that as such a sign of hostility, that he readied himself like that?
In any case, the Teddiursa came at the Snivy with a Feint Attack, striking the Snivy, who let out a grunt, before regaining his balance, and swiping at the Teddiursa with a Leaf Blade. The Teddiursa was barely able to dodge the attack in time, feeling how close it came to slashing into her. With eyes widened in panic, the Teddiursa once again readied herself to use a Feint Attack, only for a storm of leaves to brew around her.
The Teddiursa could only brace herself as she was pelted by the violent Leaf Storm, which nicked her in several places, and overall delivered a beating. But the worst part was seeing that rather than the Snivy's mental fortitude and focus being exhausted by such an attack, it was instead reinforced by the act of summoning a Leaf Storm.
In her last moments of consciousness before a Leaf Blade would deliver the finishing blow, she wondered what the Snivy was, and how it not only took her charming expression as a threat, but took such an exhausting act, and used it to empower iself.
With the Teddiursa knocked out, Thomas quickly took it to a safe place, spraying her wounds with a Potion to give them a chance to heal, before leaving her to rest off the battle.
When she'd awake, she'd find that she still had her freedom, despite the Delibird's haphazard plan to turn her into someone's gift.

After having gotten the Teddiursa to safety, Thomas smiled at Jin, who gave him a surprised look, before his body started to glow. Thomas grinned, knowing just what was going to happen, and allowed the event to play out, shielding his eyes so as to protect them from the upcoming flash of light.
From the light emerged the newly evolved Jin, who would look down at his body in shock and awe. While the creature was surprised with his new form, he wasn't going to be the one to complain about his newfound strength. And even the smug serpent could see how happy Thomas was with this turn of events.
"Great job, Jin!", Thomas said to the Servine, giving the creature a treat, before recalling him back to his Pokeball to rest, while the trainer legged it home.
As Thomas made his way out of the forest, a set of eyes would be watching him. A creature in the shadows followed the trainer, seeing where he was going. He had managed to capture four fully evolved Pokemon, and took on a Teddiursa. The creature in question was curious, and wanted to find out more about the human.
Just as Thomas got back to civilization, his stalker would finally appear out of the shadows, crying out to the trainer as the Sewaddle came into view. The Sewaddle began to put on a very telegraphed sign of a Bug Buzz. Thomas would quickly bring out his Litwick, John, to take on the creature, and take the Bug Buzz.
The attack barely phased the Litwick, who only looked at the Sewaddle in annoyance, firing off a Will-O-Wisp, before then firing a Shadow Ball at it.
The Sewaddle quickly bounded out of the path of the Will-O-Wisp, then rolled over to avoid the Shadow Ball. The insect would then fire off a Razor Leaf barrage at the Litwick, this one being less telegraphed than the Bug Buzz. The Litwick stood and took the attack, wincing in pain, but otherwise remaining calm.
John would once again fire off a Shadow Ball at the Sewaddle, only for the leafy bug to bound out of the path, and fire another Razor Leaf at the Litwick.
This time, John was prepared, as he Minimized himself to avoid the attack, and to quickly change his position. The Sewaddle looked around in confusion, wondering where his opponent went. Soon, the Sewaddle let out a cry of shock, as he saw and Infernal blast of fire coming towards him. Quickly, he braced himself to endure the attack, just barely managing to survive the initial, agonizing blast of flame.
Unfortunately, he couldn't avoid the ensuing burn, and before he could launch a counterattack, the Sewaddle felt the burn, and faded into unconsciousness.
Thomas quickly tossed a Pokeball at the Sewaddle, and smiled at the Litwick, who decompressed himself, regrowing back to his normal size.
"Good work, John. Good to see that you took care to make sure your Inferno would hit the opponent, and that you aimed your Will O Wisp carefully.", Thomas said to the Litwick, noticing that the fiery orb petered out before it could hit anything.
