There was nothing more Thomas enjoyed than spending time with his beloved companions. Whether it was enduring the heat of battle together, or just settling down and enjoying their company, Thomas felt truly at home with his many friends.
With his job as an Interpol Agent, there would be those moments where Thomas was away from home. Between the daily grind of the office, and those missions that required him to ship out to a different Region, the trainer's time that he could be spending with the majority of his Pokemon companions was thinning.
Today was one of those many moments, where Thomas was at work, and wild Pokemon were attempting to get into houses for warmth. And while Eleonore could hold down the fort for the most part, especially with the help of some of Thomas' Pokemon, she was by no means a battler.
It was for moments like this that Thomas had trained any of his combat-ready Pokemon to act on their own, to be ready for combat situations without the need of a trainer barking orders at them.

Eleonore would find herself going through the motions, tending to the yard, or at least overseeing her boss' Pokemon tending to it, for the most part. Aside from a few small things she could get to before any of his Pokemon could find it first. Anything to occupy the time she was on the clock. Eleonore would soon be snapped out of her lull, as a practical stampede of Whirlipede and Venipede would roll out into the property. Eleonore would quickly rush to open the mechanical gates, in order for Thomas' non-combatant Pokemon to retreat towards safety, while his more combative Pokemon could step in and respond to the situation at hand. And of those Pokemon, five of his 'younger' Pokemon would take charge, with the more experienced standing by to oversee their performance, and being ready to step in, should things go awry. On the front lines of the defensive effort was a Rockruff and Chimchar duo. The Chimchar would begin by conjuring up a Nasty Plot, filling his mind with a scheme, while Fen would let out a Howl to hype himself up, before summoning pointed rocks, and lobbing them towards one of the Whirlipede. While the first managed to weave around it, the second one wound up rolling right into its path, being struck dead on, and being knocked out of commission. In retaliation, one Whirlipede advanced towards the Rockruff, smacking into the pup with a Rollout, moving on quickly. The angry pup attempted to peg the creature with a Stone Edge, only to find that the Whirlipede dodged the attack handily. The wheel-like insect would charge towards the Rockruff with another Rollout, having built momentum off of the earlier strike. This time, Fen was ready, as the pup waited until the Whirlipede was close, before leaping out of the path of the insect. He would then follow up by firing off another Stone Edge at the cocoon. This time, it was a direct hit, bringing the insect down. The other seven continued to advance onto the property, with George managing to blast a straggling Whirlipede with a Flamethrower, causing the creature to cry out in agony before losing consciousness. The remaining six would be met with the second line of defense, which was seemingly no line of defense to be seen. The six insects, confident in their chances, simply charged forward. But their confidence would soon turn to panic as a single, accurate Hydro Pump struck one of their own in a sensitive area, bringing it down. From a considerable distance, a lone Remoraid, who had used Focus Energy moments earlier, locked onto one of the six insects, before firing a Hydro Pump at it. The other five insects scrambled to get out of the Remoraid's sights, with one last straggler being unfortunate enough to be locked onto by the Remoraid, and subjected to the same fate as its brethren. The remaining four would make a mad dash towards the property, looking for any sort of food they could get. Instead, what they'd come across was the area's last line of defense. A Yanma fired off an Air Slash at one of the three remaining Whirlipede, causing the creature to flinch in pain at the blade of wind. The Yanma would quickly follow this up by unleashing its Ancient Power at the cocoon, finishing off the venomous creature. The use of Ancient Power would send a rush through the Yanma, increasing its strength, fortitude, and speed. The Yanma would fire off another Air Slash at an approaching Whirlipede, this time knocking the insect out in one fell swoop. One of the two last remaining combatants, the lone Venipede in the crowd of Whirlipede, curled up to reinforce his defenses, before rolling towards the Yanma, hoping to avenge its comrades. Instead, it'd be met with an Inferno from a Shiny Litwick, who was waiting in the shadows. The fiery, agonizing blast would cause the Venipede to flail around in pain, before losing consciousness, just like its comrades. The last Whirlipede would quickly turn around and try to flee, only to be struck in the back with an Inferno. And despite its best efforts to escape, the Burn inflicted upon it by the Infernal blast would cause it to drop just short of freedom. The senior Pokemon among Thomas' collection would begin to assess the damages, while corralling the intruders to an enclosure, so their master could decide what to do with them once he returned home.

While the tougher Pokemon of the lot were cleaning up after the stampede that went on, John the Litwick would feel his body starting to glow. The others in the area would look on in awe as the Litwick's body was enveloped in a white light, before starting to shift its shape. After a silent moment, a blinding flash of light would prelude the emergence of John the Lampent.
The other Pokemon nearby gathered around the newly evolved Ghost, practically fawning over his transformation in some cases, while John's seniors were congratulating him on reaching 'the next level.' Once Thomas got home from work to see that John had evolved, there was no doubt that preparations for evolving him into a Chandelure were going to be made.
In the confusion of the Whirlipede Stampede, as well as the spectacle of the Shiny Litwick evolving, a lone Minun managed to sneak onto the property, his size aiding him alongside the other factors. Once the rodent got a good look at things, he was frankly in awe of what he was seeing. Several different kinds of Pokemon were roaming the area freely. Some were simply frolicking and playing with each other. Some of them seemed to be training, whether striking walls and targets, or sparring with one another. The others were among the patrolling Pokemon that he had to sneak past, with the task being eased by some of them containing the fallen Whirlipedes, and helping clean up whatever mess they made.
The Minun was eventually spotted by a Bagon, who walked up to the rodent. The Minun waved at the Bagon, greeting the hard-headed dragon. His attempt at starting up a friendly conversation was met with a Zen Headbutt, from the Bagon. The Minun looked up at the Bagon with a shocked expression, only to quickly have to duck away from an incoming Dragon Claw.
From there, the Minun would start running the hell away from the Bagon. The aggressive dragon would take a deep breath, to Focus his Energy, before chasing at the Minun, claws raised for a Dragon Claw swipe. Though the rodent was much faster than the dragon, fear still kicked in, and a desire to get out of there. So with enough distance, the Minun concentrated, firing off a strong blast of Thunder at the Bagon.
The Bagon would notice the imposing bolt of Thunder just miss him. The Minun's attempt at blasting the Bagon was hampered not only by the fact that such an attack was of questionable accuracy, but because the Minun himself was scared and panicking. And the Bagon had only managed to get close enough to take a swipe at the Minun.
The blue and yellow rodent just barely leaped out of the range of the swipe, before attempting to Play Nice with the Bagon. And for a moment, it would seem the dragon was going to relent. That was, until the Bagon managed to strike the Minun with a decisive Zen Headbutt, one that managed to shake the rodent up enough to knock it out.
As the Bagon stood victoriously over his fallen opponent, Mikhail, who had also noticed the fight from the sky, swooped down, lecturing the younger dragon about attacking a Pokemon that wasn't even hostile. The Bagon would argue about it being an intruder. And as the Dragoninte picked up the unconscious Minun to be contained until his master got home to determine its fate, the two continued to argue, even on the way to the pens.

While the two dragons were arguing, a single Mienfoo managed to climb on top of the fence around the estate. The fighting-type's ascent did not go unnoticed by the residents, specifically those who were capable of flight. The first of the residents to reach the new 'intruder' was a young, excitable Fletchling, who charged at the Mienfoo with an Acrobatic maneuver, given further speed thanks to the power of Gale Wings.
The Mienfoo would Detect the attack coming, and swiftly dodge the maneuver with a very well balanced cartwheel. He would then respond to the attack by firing off an Aura Sphere at the Fletchling. The Fletchling would attempt to dodge the attack, noticing that it was tracking him. Thinking fast, the Fletchling used another Acrobatic maneuver once the sphere got close enough, somehow managing to get the homing attack off of him.
During this time, another one of the residents had noticed the commotion, the Yanma who had played a role in repelling the Whirlipede stampede only moments earlier, fired off an Air Slash at the Yanma, one that the fighting-type just barely managed to dodge with a sloppy maneuver, barely managing to catch himself before he fell. In response to this, the Mienfoo fired off another Aura Sphere, this time aimed at the Yanma.
The Yanma seemed a lot calmer about taking the attack, perhaps owing to its ability to take such attacks with ease. But rather than taking it, the Yanma would simply Air Slash into the Aura Sphere, disrupting it and cancelling it out.
The Mienfoo studied both of his adversaries, looking clearly worried at his odds of winning. Not only were both Flying-types, but both outright had the means to dodge his Aura Sphere, a move he previously felt very confidant in, as it usually never missed an opponent.
Suddenly the Mienfoo would be besieged by Hypnotic waves coming from the Yanma, who had used Foresight to lock onto his opponent. With the Mienfoo being put to sleep, the duo unleashed a dual attack to finish off their opponent, an Acrobatic charge from the Fletchling, followed up with an Air Slash from the Yanma, finished off the Mienfoo, knocking it back off the property.

The duo that took down the Mienfoo on the fence would immediately feel their bodies glowing. The two of them, in perfect synchronization with one another, would begin their transition, their bodies shifting and glowing in the white light, before two brilliant flashes went off before dissipating. Ludleth and Blitzkrieg would emerge as a Fletchinder and a Yanmega respectively.
Celebrating his new form, Blitzkrieg would immediately begin to put on a show, zipping through the air above the Benoit estate, quite happy with his new form. Ludleth would follow suit, flying through the air and getting a feel for his new form.
The aerial show the duo put on wouldn't go unnoticed to other denizens of the skies. One such denizen, a Trumbeak, would spot the Yanmega in particular. Seeing a good feast, the Trumbeak would swoop down towards the Ogre Darner, only to be met with a sharp stone rapidly flying towards it. The avian would just barely dodge the attack, and spot his assailant, a Rockruff that was glaring at it from below.
The Trumbeak swooped down to greet the Rockruff, attempting to nail the pup with a Drill Peck. The Rockruff would quickly dodge the attack, leaping back at the last moment from where the bird was going to land. The Rockruff would then proceed to lunge at the Trumbeak, opening his maw to deliver a painful Crunch to the bird.
The Trumbeak would let out a cry of pain as he felt the fangs of the Rockruff crunch into him. The Trumbeak would desperately attempt to shake off the Rockruff with a Fury Attack. Despite the first hits not amounting to much, the five repeated hits caused the pup to relent in pain, backing away as quickly as he could to get away from the bird.
The Trumbeak, now free of the Rockruff's maw, Roosted to recover from the assault. The Rockruff let out a spirited Howl in response, while the Trumbeak took to the air, and attempted to come in for another attempt at a Drill Peck.
The Rockruff stood by and waited for the avian to get close. But rather than dodge, the Rockruff would instead fire off another Stone Edge at the Trumbeak, nailing the creature with a direct hit, and knocking it out of the air, causing it to fall to the ground in pain, before losing consciousness.

With the battle brought to an end, Fen's body would begin to take on the all too familiar white glow. At that point, the Rockruff's body began to shift form, until a flash of light signaled its end. Fen would emerge as a quadrupedal Lycanroc with orange and white fur. Fen would let out a proud howl, celebrating his new form.
This would attract the attention of a Chingling, who managed to find its way onto the property. The baby Pokemon began to create an Uproar, disturbing some of the younger Pokemon in the process.
It would be Ludleth that would come to the aid of the others, smashing into the Chingling with an Acrobatic maneuver. The baby Pokemon was sent flying several feet, before finally regaining control, and facing the Fletchinder. The Chingling attempted to hit the flaming bird with an Astonishing attack, only for the Fletchinder to dodge the attack, and counter with another Acrobatic maneuver.
As the floating bell fell to the ground, something fell from the sky. A strange creature, one that Eleonore would be unfamiliar with. The Slakoth would look around in confusion, wondering where he was. The Fletchinder, not willing to take his chances with the strange creature, immediately slammed into the Slakoth with an Acrobatic slam.
This would be met with the Slakoth delivering a Counterattack to the Fletchinder, smacking the creature with its paw, causing the bird to cry out in pain at the attack. Ludleth would retaliate with a Flame Charge, smacking into the Slakoth with a Flame Charge. And much to the shock of the Fletchinder, the wounded creature ultimately chose to loaf about, instead of fighting back.
But rather than question this, the Fletchinder smacked into the invasive creature with an Acrobatic slam. Ludleth would notice that the attack was considerably slower than before, but with the Slakoth making such an easy target, the avian would have no problem striking it, this time seemingly knocking it out.

With the battle with the two Pokemon coming to an end, Ludleth retreated to the bird's nest, in order to get some much needed rest after such a grueling battle. Two of the older Pokemon would take the two fallen Pokemon in, so that Thomas could determine whether to set them loose, or recruit them to his 'cause.'
A lone Nosepass fell from the sky, seemingly unharmed by the sudden drop. The living compass looked around, surprised with his surroundings, and with how many other Pokemon were present. The Nosepass' landing didn't go unnoticed by the other residents, who went up to study the rock creature. Immediately, the Nosepass fired off a Zap Cannon, an attack that would fail, and hit one of the walls enclosing the space.
Alarmed by this, one of the Poliwag, Frogger, immediately performed a Rain Dance, followed up with a Hydro Pump. The watery attack connected with the Nosepass, sending it flying into the wall, doing more damage to it than the Zap Cannon did in the process, and knocking out the Rock-type.
All there was left to do was contain the creature, and await Thomas' instructions, once he got back home from work.
