Upon first learning about the Star Festival, Alouette couldn't have been more excited. Everything she'd heard about it made it sound lovely, and she couldn't wait to check out the festivities for herself. Her only worry was whether or not she had something nice to dress up in, but she was reassured by some of the people she spoke with that dressing up was purely optional, and hardly a requirement. Other than that, though, she was greatly looking forward to this event. At least until multiple requests suddenly started coming in just as it was about to start.
At first, Alouette was disheartened by the sudden influx of job requests, as almost all of them were noted to be important; in other words, she felt morally obligated to complete them as quickly as possible. However, when she took a close look at all of these requests, she realized something; nearly all of them were related to the Star Festival in some way. Most of them were requests to have materials needed for setting up a stall, while others were more general deliveries that some officials were waiting for. Suddenly, this seemed like it wouldn't be so bad.
Thus, here she was. Most of her jobs consisted of her going to some sort of pick-up point to collect materials and/or ingredients, then bringing them back to the requester. Even after she was done with the official jobs, there were other people who had seen her doing her thing and sought to hire her on the spot to do the same. At first, she wanted to complain about more or less being made into a glorified errand girl, but it was kinda nice being able to help everyone out and keep the festival running smoothly. Not to mention she was being well compensated.
Not only that, but it was quite the sight for all of the festival-goers as well, seeing the girl riding on her Gogoat through the crowds, moving quickly but being very careful not to run anyone over. For especially large and/or heavy loads, her Tauros would be in tow, acting as a pack-mule of sorts. Luckily, Sora was able to keep him in check and prevent him from flying off the handle if something upset/annoyed him. Even if he did, her Primeape would be more than happy to remind him to behave. Sora was confident it wouldn't come to that, though.
That said, this she was gonna have to find a larger and less irritable Pokemon to serve as a pack-mule in moments like this. She already had some ideas though. Once all of this was over, she'd have to go out and see if if she could find any in the wild. For now, however, her current setup would more than suffice. When her Gogoat got tired, she'd return him to his Poke Ball to rest and instead ride her Dodrio. It wasn't quite as smooth a ride as her Gogoat, but the three-headed bird was more than capable of getting the job done in a short time.
There was one delivery in particular that ended up being quite a lot of fun. One of the more elaborate food stands at the main venue was coming dangerously close to having to shut down for the day due one of their shipments (which contained quite a lot of key ingredients) never making it. Upon overhearing the owner's plight and asking, she was able to figure out which route the delivery person would have most likely taken, and decided to take it upon herself to investigate and see what had happened. She was in for quite the surprise.
As it turned out, the man had gotten into an accident; he was fine, but the Pokemon he had been riding, a Luxray, had injured its leg, keeping it from being able to run. The whole thing was so reminiscent of the incident that sparked her career that it was almost too hard to believe; the nostalgia that washed over the girl warmed her heart, and she happily offered to deliver the package in his place so that he could tend to his injured Pokemon. Since he'd already been paid for his services, he graciously accepted the offer, and thus Sora was off.
When she finally got back, the stall owner was so grateful to her that he promptly cooked up a sampler platter of everything on his menu and offered it to the girl, free of charge. It was all so delicious that she actually felt bad for not paying, but he insisted, saying the money he would have lost had he not been able to open would've been far greater than the tiny amount he'd lose just from doing this. Although she still felt a little bad about eating for free, Alouette couldn't really argue with the man's logic, so she gladly accepted the token of thanks.
It was moments like that that made her love what she does. Seeing the people so happy when they received their packages, and being able to help out in especially busy/important times like this was one of the best feelings in the world. And during this festival, she was feeling it more than ever. Of course, she was eventually going to have to put her foot down and decide on a few days during the coming week that she would be unavailable so that she could enjoy the festivities on her own time, but she was quite happy to be of help.
At this exact moment, she'd finished yet another delivery request; fetching some supplies (paper plates, napkins and the like) from the nearest convenient store. Not the most glamorous of work in her honest opinion, but they wouldn't be able to keep serving their food without them, and a job was a job. Besides, they had promised her a free dish for her trouble, and she couldn't exactly complain about free food. As apprehensive as she was at first about taking such offers, she was beginning to enjoy all of these extra perks.
The festival wasn't even over yet, and she was already greatly looking forward to coming next year.
