What will a selection of TUDOR watches be launching at Watches & Wonders 2023? We wish there were smaller cases, more colorful dials and more gunmetal. All will be revealed on Monday morning. Until then -- here's our prediction. best replica watch site
We're only a few days away from finding out what Tudor has in store for Watches and Wonders 2023, but, given the brand's fierce love of secrecy, your guess is as good as ours. In preparation for the Geneva fair, I asked Hodinkee's editors to provide a mixed wish forecast of what they hope to see from Tudor when the new model launches next Monday morning. Then I fumbled into Photoshop and did my best to render their supposed Tudor pieces.
The results are as follows, with just about every watch that looks like a watch Tudor could make. While we wait for the big reveal, be sure to hit the comments and let us know what you want to see from Tudor next week.
Black Bay 36 "Bronze Honeycomb"
The Tudor Black Bay 36 series best replica watch site feels a bit like a sleeping giant. Since it came out in 2016, Tudor hasn’t really done much with it – there’s a black dial, a blue dial, a silver dial, and that’s it. This year, I hope to see Tudor do something bold with the mid-range Black Bay 36 (and the 32 and 41). Part of the premise of a modern Tudor is that it can do things a Rolex can't (or won't). So let's do it.
Let's start with this: the Black Bay 36 in bronze. For old days' sake, let's give the dial a honeycomb pattern. Like the Black Bay 58 Bronze, it's even available with a 3-6-9 "Explorer" dial. Or just simple circular indices.
Tudor's experiments with the Black Bay 36 should not stop there. It could add colored dials to the line, as Rolex did with the Oyster Perpetual a few years ago. Make a cream dial 36 that looks like a 'Polar Explorer' that Rolex would never do.
Check out the archives of vintage Tudors and you'll find it doing all sorts of weird things with its old Oyster Prince collection - colours, dial patterns, even case materials. The Black Bay 36 range can do the same in the modern Hans Wilsdorf stable.replica luxury watches
Finally, Tudor added a manufacture movement to its Black Bay 36 S&G (MT5400) last year. With the aesthetic rethinking of the steel Black 36 collection, it was time to update its movement. Nick Marino will tell you that the Tudors should shrink the Ranger to 36, but why stop there? Don't get me wrong, I love the Ranger (I have an old one!), but I'm here to tell you that the Tudor can do a lot more with 36mm.
Tudor Black Bay 36 "Stella" Dial
Can you imagine a world where people don't know what Black Bay 58 is? A world where nobody reads James' review of the classic Pelagos 39, and they don't know that the Ranger reissue is 5mm larger than the original? I can imagine: this is the world most ordinary people live in now.
I'm not saying Tudors are only for audiophiles; there are plenty of casual Tudor wearers out there. But a large portion of society still doesn't have the vaguest notions. Rolex, on the other hand - well, it's a household name, like Coca-Cola or Nike.replica watches for sale
Passers-by may start to care if they know more about Tudor's origins and relationship with Rolex. Or if Tudor has caught their attention with a big, eye-catching move. I vote for the latter. I'd love to see super hot Rolex merchandise that everyone (in and out of the watch world) notices.
So how about the Tudor BB36 collection with colored opaque lacquered dials? The Stella dial returns to the more democratic Tudor style: yellow, coral red, pink, turquoise blue and green enamel dials, but with snowflake hands... a smaller price tag! For the first novel build I stuck with 36mm but we can add BB34 and BB41 later in the party. A move like this would be a brainstorm that would instantly democratize the watch space.
Modern Tudor Snowflake Submarine
I submit this submission in hope rather than prediction. I like Black Bay No. 58. I own Biwan No. 58. During the time I was looking down at my wrist, I started to have some thoughts about the Black Bay 58. Mine are black and gold plated, but I have a crush on the blue one too.
So I wondered how something so good could get better, or at least change in a way that excites me. When I think of blue, I immediately think of classic snowflakes. What if Tudor really went with the classic diver's design - doing away with the faux rivets, adding crown protection, and bringing back the square markers (something we've seen reserved for Pelagos only)? Personally I think that would be a killer watch. It's not like I'm asking for a Mercedes hand or something. While I know it's probably never going to happen, I figured I'd just put it out there in the universe. It doesn't hurt. – Danny Milton, Managing Editor.Replica Richard Mille Felipe Massa
Black Bay 925 with bracelet
I know it's not particularly creative, but I like that the Black Bay Fifty-Eight 925 (sterling silver) model gets the same treatment as the Black Bay 58 Bronze and gives it a full sterling silver bracelet. Tudors went so far outside the box that they even released sterling silver watches, so why stop there?
While bronze is prized for its patina, sterling silver looks great over time. It's not used very often in modern (even vintage) watches, but coin silver (.90 fine, made from melted US coins) is a relatively common case metal in pocket watches (I know, I know, you can see where is this going). But many watch lovers—Wei Koh, Alessandro Squarzi, and myself—like to collect vintage Navajo silver jewelry. The brushed metal of the bracelet looks great out of the box, but alongside some silver and turquoise jewelry that develops a dark patina over time, you have what the Black Bay 925 should have been all along. – Mark Kauzlarich, editor
1926 bronze dial set with diamonds
I know, I know this will never happen. but! I think the 1926 deserves a little more time in the spotlight, and what better way to capture the public's attention than to introduce a classic dress watch in a more controversial material.
Go ahead, give the 1926 Black Bay Bronze Award! We can easily blend in with the bronze case and black dial. I think one of the best looking combinations of the 1926 at the moment is the black dial rose gold and steel combination. A little unexpected, a little rough, but still set with diamonds (but not in the 28mm size boo). Substitute bronze for rose gold and let's see what happens! The potential for patina next to the steel can make for a very interesting little watch. —Nora Taylor, Associate Editor.Replica Patek Philippe Nautilus Watches
Ranger 36
The latest Ranger looks almost identical to the Rolex Explorer ref. The 36mm 1016 is the Platonic ideal watch in many people's minds. The 1016 has also been out of production for decades. The Ranger is as close as it gets to the modern collector. It's better to go all the way. –Nick Marino, Senior Vice President of Content
Tudor Heritage Chrono Black Bay 39
One of my favorite Tudors is the blue version of the Heritage Chrono, which was originally released at Baselworld in 2013 (blue/cream/orange colorway). With its vintage Tudor “Monte Carlo” charm, I think it’s one of the brand’s best looking watches ever, and it even comes with one of my favorite non-complications, the 12-hour travel bezel. Add a matching NATO and you've got the watch I've been eyeing for a decade.
But from what I've seen, I've found that, as I often do, the 42mm steel case feels a little too big for my wrist (in any size, really). So, for my Tudor hopes/forecasts, I'd love to see the Heritage Chrono formula for the Tudor "39" in the same format as the Black Bay Fifty-8 or Pelagos 39. For concrete purposes, I imagined
A Black Bay Heritage Chrono is in keeping with the current chronograph strategy of the Tudor (one of the Black Bay family). So it's a fifty-eight case with shorter lugs, a width of 39mm, etc., but otherwise a faithful reproduction of the lovely Heritage Chrono Blue.
I think it's beautiful, a little softer than the original, and while not that much of a chronograph person, I like the look of it and can only assume it'll look great on the wrist - like any Black Bay Fifty - eight human system.replica Jacob & Co. Astronomia Casino
