Even after seeing some parts of the festival already, Michi was excited to see what else the festival had to offer. There were so many different exhibits and games that she didn't even know where to start. She was about to try and see what other cool games she could play when Annie jumped out of her arms. "Wait! Annie, where are you going!"Michi protested, immediately taking off after the pink kitten. Honestly, why Annie liked to wander off every chance she could get was a mystery to her. This wasn't the first time during that the kitten had tried to wander away from her, but it was the first time she'd succeeded and Michi didn't want to lose sight of her precious kitten. The Skitty meanwhile, had had enough of being held and had smelled something delicious nearby. She was a little hungry and well, it solved both problems quite nicely. Racing through the streets of Liggs, the Skitty didn't pay attention to where she was going or where her trainer was. Having some time to herself would be nice after all, especially without her silly trainer petting her all the time. Snuggles were nice, but she could only really take so much. Rounding the corner, Annie finally found the source of the delicious smell. A pie was sitting on a windowsill just waiting for her! The only problem was it was just a little high up but...she could do this! With a happy mew, she jumped on a few trash cans, just barely managing to make the fire escape ladder before jumping onto the windowsill. Once she made it up, Annie wasted little time before starting to eat the pie, still warm from the oven. Mmmm~, this was delicious. By the time Michi found her, Annie had eaten the entire pie and was now wondering exactly how she was going to get back down again. Uh Oh...this wasn't good. "Annie! There you are!"Michi called up, just glad to see that the kitten was alright...at least until she saw that the kitten looked panicked, "S-stay there! I'll get you...somehow"she continued, already searching for a way to get up to the windowsill. Well...there was a ladder thing but...it was high up and...maybe she could jump? No..., that wouldn't work...would it? Jumping up to try and grab the ladder, Michi just couldn't reach it no matter how hard she tried. Still, she wasn't going to give up, not when Annie was counting on her! Words: 427 | Notes: Industrial 1/Festival Catch Areas Tags: @regionalbliss

She had been to quite a few festivals – a few of them in Caravella, that place LOVED to party – but this was a lot different than most of them. The fact that it during the night made it different than a lot… sure, some festivals went THROUGH the night, but this Star Festival worked only at night. Her eyes so often looking skyward, it wasn’t rocket science figuring out why: the thing they called Bal’s Comet was amazing, and up here, with less lights and less air, there were more stars than usual, and she was at a loss of words how fantastic they were! It was pretty late at night, though, and she had her fill of the festival, at least for now, so she figured she could do something she actually kind of needed to do pretty seriously: train! That’s why she was moving away from the bigger parts of the festival, the spacey lights and decorations giving way to more normal stuff, though a few houses and buildings still had the décor, which just put a smile on her face. With the fresh air of everyone having a good time, the thought of fun fights sending energy through her blood, and her buddy Pikachu always on her shoulder, she was ready for anything! “Annie! There you are!”Emily’s attention was suddenly caught by someone yelling, walking around the side of the building to see a pink-haired girl in the alleyway, jumping repeatedly but just barely missing a fire escape ladder. She looked to see what the girl could be trying to get at, then saw a very concerned-looking Skitty fidgeting, very much looking like she wanted to get down. The trainer looked at the Pokémon on her shoulder, smiling confidently and getting one in turn, neither of them having to say a word to each other as they formulated a plan. Pikachu hopped off her shoulder, running up to the other girl, climbing her back to jump off her shoulder, very deftly, and with only a minor disturbance to the human, using her as a stepstool to climb up the fire escape, running up to the Skitty and sitting next to her, giving her a cheery – and a bit cheeky – smile and wave, assuring her in PokéSpeak that everything will be fine in just a few seconds, even striking up a conversation. Meanwhile, Emily was low to the ground, remembering some of her sporting experience before yelling, “ONE SIDE!” As she yelled, she burst into a sprinting speed, running as fast as she can, jumping as high as she could and just grabbing the bottom rung of the fire escape ladder, a bit of panic on her face for a few moments as she struggled to cling, but she got her grip, the fear fading instantly as she did, beginning to climb the ladder. The shock returned, though, when the ladder gave way, the lock somehow undone, finding herself suddenly falling as the ladder did, letting out a startled yell, the split-second fall ending with the ladder clanging completely free, Pikachu looking down with a bit of worry, but the Pokémon smiling softly as his trainer blinked, looking around, almost surprised she wasn’t hurt. Her rear was hanging just an inch above the ground, since her hands where only grabbing the first couple of rungs, but she smiled warmly, tilting her head back, grinning upside-down at the other girl, speaking with a cheery tony, “There, that oughta help ya~!”

Michi was beginning to think that she would never get the ladder thing down when suddenly she felt something jump on her and let out a startled scream. She had been so focused on trying to reach the ladder that she hadn't even heard anyone approach. The....wait, was that a yellow mouse? Before she could call out to the mouse thing however, a loud shout made her start and spin around...only to see there was a girl running straight towards her. Michi did try to jump out of the way, but ended up falling backwards in her surprise just as the girl jumped on the ladder. Red eyes grew wide as she watched the girl struggle on the last run of the ladder. She could feel the panic radiating off her at first only to fade and-... A startled cry escaped Michi about the same time as the girl did when the ladder fell. Scrambling to her feet, Michi stared at the girl, unable to register exactly what had happened in what felt like a few seconds. It was only when the girl spoke again that Michi realized that she could get Annie down now and grinned, "Thanks!"she chimed happily, waiting until the girl got down before attempting to climb the ladder herself. It was shaky going at best, especially since Michi was just a little paranoid that the ladder would drop again but eventually made it up to where Annie was waiting for her on the windowsill. Annie meanwhile, had started pacing and was debating whether she really should just try jumping down before the Pikachu showed up and assured her it would be fine. Well...now they were both stuck up here, that had been pretty stupid. Still, the conversation helped to calm her even if the sound of the ladder made the Skitty nearly fall off the windowsill in panic. Thankfully, Michi was there just in time and caught up her pink kitten in her arms, snuggling her gratefully while Annie mewed happily, very much glad to be safe again. "I'm so glad you're alright...don't scare me like that..."Michi murmured, petting the purring kitten before slowly climbing down the ladder again and smiling at the girl who had helped her. "Thanks again for your help, I don't know if I could've gotten her down without your help,", Michi said quietly, not wanting to think about what might have happened if the girl hadn't come along, "My name's Michaela by the way,"she continued, smiling a little more now that she wasn't worried about her kitten. Meanwhile, it seemed that a few other Pokemon had been startled by the noise and wanted to investigate. A Poochyena peered around the corner, staring at the two humans and their Pokemon. Now, why were they making all that racket in the first place? He had been trying to take a nap for crying out loud. Words: 493 | Notes: --- | Tags: @regionalbliss

A couple of heart skips may have happened, but Emily was grinning nonetheless. Being scared was so fun! It was an adventure in itself! She easily let go of the ladder, panting gently and enjoying the feeling of her heart racing a mile a minute as the pink-haired girl recovered her Pokémon – who had a little help in not falling from her yellow companion. Pikachu gave a little salute to the pink-haired before running past her, hopping down the ladder and gently landing on his trainer’s stomach, smirking down at her as she grinned back. When she was addressed, Emily rolled onto her stomach, Pikachu moving to her back as she did so, and pushed herself up. “Not a problem at all,” she yelled softly, “Glad to help!” Emily stood tall, proud, and cheery, the effort legitimately not a problem, at least to her. “Skitty can be really tough to handle sometimes, ya know?” She reached a hand out as Michaela introduced herself, using her other to adjust the hat that had shifted about a bit, replying, “I’m Emily, and this is Pikachu!” The Pokémon on her shoulder gave a short wave, giving a pleasant nod and a confident smile as his greeting. “Nice to meetcha!”A soft crashing sound caught her attention, turning slightly to look towards out of the alley. “What was that?” Pikachu shrugged, looking at Emily before smiling again, already knowing what she was about to say. “Let’s go check it out!”

Michi was so distracted by making sure that Annie was alright, that she didn't notice the girl had opted to lay down after letting go of the ladder. Or rather, she noticed that her heart was beating faster than it should have been...but that could easily be explained away through how scared she was when Annie almost fell. Thank goodness that girl had been there with the yellow mouse or Michi didn't know what might have happened. The salute the mouse gave her was amusing, and Michi couldn't help but giggle even as she snuggled with her precious pink kitten. Well, at least Annie wouldn't try to run away again soon...hopefully. Climbing down the ladder again, Michi thanked the girl and smiled, though the girl's exuberance at her quiet thank you was...a little much. Still, she couldn't have done it without the girl and well, the girl's excitement was contagious it seemed. Michi couldn't help but giggle a little before the girl continued to speak, saying something about Skitty. Huh? What was that? "Umm, Skitty?" Michi asked, blinking a little in confusion before introducing herself and the pink kitten. After hearing the girl introduce herself and the yellow mouse, Michi giggled and gave a brief curtsie, "Nice to meet you too! Though, Pikachu is an odd name...I've never heard of it before. It's pretty cool though!"she chimed easily before the crash made her jump. What had caused tha-....no, no...nononono she didn't want to go over there at all. Not with the overwhelming sense of fear she got from the area. "Umm...I-...I don't think that's a good idea,"Michi squeaked out, her face pale as she shook her head. Whatever was over there, she didn't like it...not one bit. As if on cue, a Poochyena yelped in alarm and ran behind Michi, shaking like a leaf. Huh? Who was this little one? "Are you alright, little one?"Michi whispered, kneeling down to pet the frightened puppy. Annie seemed scared now too, but did her best to reassure the Poochyena. The Poochyena whimpered, and barked in the direction the crash had come from. "It's alright, little one, it'll be ok..."Michi encouraged, trying to smile despite how scared she felt as well. Or...at least she hoped it would be alright. Words: 382 | Notes: --- | Tags: @regionalbliss

Micha may have protested, but it fell on deaf ears as Emily was already too excited; the fact that she helped someone just added onto her usual excitement, and the additional wonder of ‘what is that?!’. She ran out of the alleyway and was immediately greeted by the sight of a spherical Pokémon smashing through some trees. Emily stared at it, not recognizing the constantly spinning Pokémon, but she didn’t have time to study it; it was quick to notice her, and immediately turned to her, making some sort of cry. Emily’s grin turned into a smirk. It wanted a battle, and she was happy to give one. The only issue was what Pokémon to use, but she already knew the answer. She didn’t know what the Pokémon was, but it had some sort of rocky shell, which meant just one Pokémon. The trainer pulled a Poké Ball out of her vest, expanding it, and tossing it into the air. “Riolu, come on out!”In a flash of light, the Emanation Pokémon appeared in the air, doing a kick against the air and throwing its paws forward, its tongue stuck out as he made his entrance as memorable as possible. Doing a forward flip, the jackel Pokémon landed on its feet and one of its front paws, grinning wide at his new opponent, standing up and throwing a few mock punches and kicks. His trainer grinned at his energy, yelling out, “Let’s start with a Bulk Up, buddy!”The Pokémon grinned, flexing and posing, forcing his muscles to expand slightly, becoming more noticeable for a moment before settling back down. The wild Pokémon reacted, very angrily spinning and shaking before darting to Joe, surprising the trained Pokémon with a full-bodied tackle, knocking Joe away, but it followed with several beams of sparkling light, sending Joe even further away. Despite being hit with two attacks that did respectable damage, the unusually crimson Fighting-type didn’t fly back, he slid back, and when he stopped, he looked up at the Minior, grinning wide, his trainer mirroring his grin. “Awesome hits, but we aren’t going down so easily, right, Joe?!” With a confirmation from him, she ordered, “Let’s use Bulk Up one more time, and then use a one-two Bullet Punch!” She emphasized her order by throwing a couple of mock punches. Joe let out a VERY happy reply, increasing his physical abilities yet again before rushing forward, slamming his paw against the meteor-shaped Pokémon, and then hitting it a second time, both of them sending the Rock-type flying backwards. Emily let out a cheer, encouraging her Pokémon, but gasped when the wild Pokémon started to… crack! For a second, she was worried, wondering if she had seriously hurt it, but, when the creature suddenly exploded, revealing a beautiful pink core, she couldn’t help but yell, “Oh wow, a form-changing Pokémon! Awesome!”The wild Pokémon was much less happy, and the trainer didn’t notice the frown or steadily increasing glow. Joe yelled for her, bringing her out of her excitement quicker than usual, looking at the Pokémon, going wide-eyed. “IT’S GONNA BLOW! GET TA COVER!” Joe went as wide-eyed as she did, panicking a moment, whirling around quickly and repeatedly in his desperate search. As he ducked behind something, Emily turned to run, but immediately found her new friend. “DUCK AND OVER, MICHA!” She tackled her and Skitty behind a stand, slamming into the ground just in time for the Pokémon to explode violently. Her eyes were squeezed shut, but when the explosion passed, she slowly opened her eyes, blinking softly and sitting up, some streamers and wood pieces shifting off of her as she looked over what remained of the stand, which was virtually nothing, as most of the immediate area was almost entirely destroyed. “Riolu! Pikachu! You okay?!” A few moments, but a responding cry from her Pokémon let her have a sigh of relief, looking down at the girl whose hips she was sitting on. “How about you? You okay?”After getting a confirmation, she got up, helping the other up before walking over to the self-KO’d Pokémon, Joe rolling his shoulder as he approached. “Nice job, Joe, you were awesome~.” Joe smirked, replying in PokéSpeak, though his tone carried the feeling that there was never any doubt he was. She couldn’t help but smirk in reply before pulling out a Poké Ball. “A form-changing Pokémon would be awesome. Let’s see if it’ll be friendly.”She smiled gently, softly tossing her Poké Ball, hitting the downed Pokémon and turning it into energy.

When it seemed Emily didn't hear her reluctance to see what that scary sound had been, Michi turned her attention back to the puppy to try and help it calm down. Whatever had scared it seemed to be coming from the direction Emily was going in...which...wasn't good. Sure enough, a big round... thing appeared and seemed to threaten Emily when it made a...what was that sound anyway. Michi didn't like this, not one bit. If the puppy wasn't hiding and cowering behind her, she would have honestly been tempted to just run away. That was until Michi saw a flash of light and...some sort of walking puppy? Oh, so that was a Riolu...maybe? The next thing Michi knew, the Riolu was fighting the big sphere thing and if she hadn't been more concerned about the puppy that still hid behind her for comfort, she would have objected. There was something just....upsetting? wrong? about the fight that Michi couldn't place but before she could say or do anything about it, suddenly Emily was tackling her to the ground. Crying out in surprise, Michi didn't know exactly what was going on but when a loud BOOM all but shattered the stand they had fallen behind, Michi was more than a little scared. This was why the puppy was so scared wasn't it. It wasn't until the girl...that was still on top of her asked if she was ok that Michi uncurled herself from around both the puppy and Annie and nodded. At least she didn't think that she was hurt... A quiet thank you would be given when Emily helped her stand up again with Annie and the puppy still practically clinging to each other after the explosion. While Emily talked to her Pokemon, Michi hugged both of them close to her. "Shhh, it's ok, you're safe now, both of you,"Michi whispered, almost shaking herself with how scared she could feel the two little ones were. She was so distracted by comforting the little ones in front of her that Michi didn't see Emily through something at the fainted sphere thing. If she had, Michi would have been alarmed to see the thing disappear into what seemed like nothing. The Poochyena however didn't relax until after the Minior was captured and well, this human was strange but kind and good. He wanted to see what else this human would do and well... Sniffing around Michi, the Poochyena did find the scent of empty pokeballs and was soon trying to empty the girl's pockets. Michi laughed and tried to squirm out of the puppy's inquisitive nose. It was cold! "Stop that!"Michi laughed, trying to push the puppy's nose away. The Poochyena didn't stop however, not until he managed to knock one out and pressed the button on the ball, disappearing in a beam of red light. Instead of being happy that the Poochyena wanted to come with her, Michi gasped and tried to grab the Poochyena as he disappeared into the red marble. No...not another one.... For all she was, Michi was more upset over 'killing' the puppy than anything else. Even Annie curled up against her, more than a little alarmed to see her owner so sad over something that should be a good thing. Words: 555 | Notes: --- | Tags: @regionalbliss

"AW YEAH~!" When that Poké Ball stopped shaking and made that tone she loved so much, she couldn't help but let out a sound of pure joy. One less Poké Ball in her inventory, one new friend gained! And it was a type of Pokémon she hadn't even gotten yet! Bonus! She took the Poké Ball, holding it aloft in victory, but then a sudden scream startled her, making her fumble the metal orb, barely catching as she screamed back. She whirled quickly, her Pokémon following her as she ran over to the pinkette, blinking in confusion at the sight. Michi was crying and holding a Poké Ball, and the Skitty that she had helped save was curled around her. Joe looked on Michi, worried, while Emily looked at her Pikachu, legitimately unsure of what to do here. Luckily, Pikachu knew just how bad she tended to be at cheering someone up, or even understanding what was going on with things like that, walked up, talking to the Skitty, asking what happened before turning to his trainer and passing off this info - as best he could with not speaking Common - to Emily. “You caught a Pokémon?! Congrats! Dunno why you’re crying, though,” She walked over, crouching down, holding out the Poké Ball that contained her newest Pokémon. “I caught the Minior, see? Well… you can’t really see it, because it’s my seventh, but you see this light?” She pointed at the button in the middle of the two halves, normally gray, but glowing a soft red this time. “Means I caught the Minior. Can’t let it out right now, though. You know, the whole six-Pokémon party thing. You did the same, too,” she said, trying to give her a reassuring tone. She tapped the other’s ball, pointing right to the same glowing button. “Whatever you caught is sittin’ right in there, waitin’ to be let out. Or it lets itself out. Some Pokémon can do that. It can’t, though, unless you have six or less Pokémon.” Emily nudged Michi gently, giving her a warm and happy grin. “No need to worry! You’ll see the Pokémon again soon!”

Michi was so caught up in thinking that she had lost another would be friend that she didn't notice Emily coming up behind her. Annie was concerned and try as she might couldn't seem to calm down her tearful owner. When Pikachu came up to her and asked what was wrong, the Skitty did her best to relay what had happened, that Michi had started crying after the Poochyena was caught which was...strange, but then again, her Ponyta and Deerling had been the ones making sure that her Pokemon stayed in their balls unless absolutely necessary. After explaining all this to the Pikachu, Annie watched as it was explained to Emily...well, sort of. When Emily crouched down beside her, Michi jumped a little and looked over at her as she explained about pokeballs. The reassurance that the puppy was still in there and was safe helped more than any other part of the explanation. Smiling a little, Michi nodded and wiped the tears from her eyes, "Thanks Emily," she replied quietly, putting the puppy's pokeball away for now. If she could see the puppy later, that would be good then. Michi was about to stand up when suddenly a POP was heard as her firepony came out of their pokeball. Red eyes grew in surprise but before she could say anything, Sunchaser suddenly used Flare Blitz on an Espurr that was a little too close for comfort. As distracted as she was by supposedly losing the puppy, Michi let out a distressed cry when she saw the fire and covered her mouth to hold back another shout when the Espurr used a Psyshock in retaliation. So what if she'd been found out, she could still win this! Though...the last move had hurt and she was struggling to remain standing. Sunchaser reared, trumpeting a battle cry before using Inferno, not about to let the Espurr get close to his princess again! The Espurr couldn't get away in time and was caught up in the fire, fainting almost instantly as a result. Sunchaser reared again, whinnying victoriously before going back to Michi and nuzzling her affectionately. Michi couldn't help but giggle hugged her firepony back. Even as surprised as she was by that battle, it had all been to protect her...so that was alright, everything was just fine. Annie meanwhile burrowed through Michi's pockets to find an pokeball and dropped it on the Espurr with a contented mew. It would be nice to have a partner in crime, maybe they could even play together and have fun! Besides, Michi was distracted and well...if she was getting upset over the Poochyena, the Skitty wasn't exactly certain if she knew how to catch Pokemon so better safe than sorry~. Standing up, Michi turned to Emily and grinned, "This is Sunchaser, he's my firepony,"she explained briefly, hugging him close while he nickered affectionately, "He says thanks for helping me...oh, this is Emily," she continued, adding on Emily's name as more of an afterthought. Sunchaser whinnied in greeting and pawed at the ground, nuzzling Emily briefly as a thank you. Words: 521 | Notes: Sunchaser gets 2 points Tags: @regionalbliss

Emily smiled softly and nodded as she was thanked. She tried not to let her nervousness show, but it showed anyway: she was bad at cheering people up, but she was teaching training basics, so it was a little easier. It was a little weird that she thought her Pokémon was gone… Emily wasn’t really sure what to make of it. Everyone and their mothers at least that the Pokémon went inside of the ball… maybe she was from a different region that didn’t catch Pokémon? She could hardly imagine a place like that, but foreign idea aside, it was nice that she felt a little better. “GUH!” The brunette was just as surprised as the pinkette when the Pokémon suddenly appeared - getting a reminder that some peoples’ Pokémon could let themselves out at the same time - and let loose a fire attack on a Pokémon neither of them had noticed. So startled that she had jumped back and stumbled slightly, walking backwards and gasping when she hit something. “Mini?!” “Whoa!” Letting out a small yelp of surprise, Emily jumped back forward and whirled, greeted by the appearance of another rock, form-changing Pokémon whose name she had yet to find out. Instinctively, Emily jumped back even farther, putting some distance between her and the wild Pokémon. Pikachu and Riolu rushed to her side, preparing themselves for a fight, but as the wild Pokémon went from curious to battle-ready, she held her hand out to them, silently telling them to step back. “Training, guys. I got this~. Grimer, let’s see what you got!” She threw a Premier Ball - a ball normally reserved for special occasions - and released a Pokémon, the white energy having a red outline to it as it formed into a mostly green Pokémon, one that hit the ground with a soft splat as its oozey body made impact. The grimer threw her hands up gently, letting out a soft sound of joy before looking at her opponent. “Let’s start with Toxic, Grimer!” Yelling with a soft grin, she ordered her Pokémon, who responded with a happy yell before hurling a thick green paste, as if vomiting, at the wild Pokémon. The status move flew, hitting the Pokémon dead center, making Emily grin… but the Pokémon just as easily shook the gunk off with a rapid spin of itself. ‘What?! Is it a Poison-type?!’ Emily was shocked; she knew that Poison-type moves weren’t very effective on Rock-type Pokémon, but that didn’t stop Toxic! Riolu was super-effective against it, though, so it wasn’t Poison… maybe it was a Steel-type instead? It was weird and freaky that she was surprised, but at the same time, she was joyous; the feeling of being blind-sided, taken by surprise… sure, there was some pouty feeling in her that she wasn’t smart enough to catch it, but it was awesome to experience it for herself! Regardless, she couldn’t dwell on it, the wild Pokémon let out a cry, its rocky outer coating cracking slightly. She didn’t know what was coming, but she could feel it was bad. “MINIMIZE NOW!” Grimer was quick to comply, instantly splitting its sludge body into several bits as the wild Pokémon formed spheres of light, firing beams of light, all four of them missing the much smaller and multi-bodied Grimer - and Emily, making her duck and twist and quickly move out of the line of fire, making a suitably panicked sound as she did. “Alright, that didn’t work,” Emily yelled as Grimer pulled herself back together. Emphasizing her order with a couple of swings of her arms, she yelled, “Give it a couple of that move of yours! Brutal Swing!” Grimer yelled in confirmation, throwing her arm to the side, throwing most of her mass into the arm to lengthen it considerably, then swinging forward, hitting the floating Pokémon in the side, then swinging her arm back to backhand it for a second attack. The wild Pokémon floated back to where it was, the shell cracking and chipping before suddenly exploding off of it, revealing its colorful core. This made Emily grit her teeth; she didn’t want to duck and cover again; these Pokémon could know Explosion, and she’d rather assume it did than didn’t. “Shadow Sneak, quick!” Sensing the unease in her voice, Grimer narrowed her eyes in determination, letting out a battle cry as her shadow reached out, sliding across the ground with incredible speed, shooting up to strike the Pokémon right in the face, sending it backwards and onto the ground. Emily stared carefully for a moment as things went quiet, then let out a sigh of relief when she saw it was definitely down. She ran over to it, hopping carefully over some broken pieces of wood and shredded fabric to look over the Pokémon. She crouched down, looking it over. ‘Definitely not a Poison-type,’ she thought to herself. It could have been a Steel-type, but didn’t look it… maybe it was an ability? Pretty good one, if it stopped Toxic…. She pulled out another Poké Ball, tapping it gently against the Pokémon. If it was an ability, maybe her new one doesn’t have it?
