Feliciano’s lips sealed in a warm smile as Elayne spoke. His blue eyes, even in the light of early morning, shined with bright adoration. “I’m glad I could help,” he mused back softer than before. “It was so much fun,” he continued wistfully. Had Elayne not entered the contest, Felis might have. Instead, he’d poured his time and energy into help her and felt wonderful for it. He hoped she placed.

As Elayne’s head turned back to him, Haiiro met her gaze and managed a smile. As she kissed his cheek, however, the blush deepened. “….” Lips parted, but no words came forward. Not even a sound hit the air. He tried again but nothing still. Haiiro’s lips closed again. As Elayne leaned against Felis, Haiiro stopped walking (inadvertently causing Felis to stop walking as well) and brought her knuckles to his lips very briefly.

A soft chuckle escaped from Felis as Elayne leaned against him. Resting sideways on her briefly as well, he glanced sideways at Haiiro and stopped when he did. Cute… Glancing forward, he hummed softly. “Oh look over there,” he started pointing in the distance.

Blue eyes turned and refocused through the darkness to find whatever it was Felis had pointed out. When he finally caught the motion of the Stunfisk, Haiiro raised an eyebrow as it hopped away from something. Looking back and finding a Minior, a species he’d only seen recently in the Liggs newspaper, he had to wonder what was…. up? Was it hunting maybe?

As Elayne shifted and released a Mareep, Haiiro found himself reaching for his pocket out of habit. Fishing through some Pokeballs, he frowned. Stunfisk was… Electric and Ground if he remembered right. Electric Terrain actually strengthened the Stunfisk’s power, and it wouldn’t be affected by Electricity at all being part Ground type. The terrain also prevented sleep which posed some problems of its own. Ugh, he didn’t have the Pokemon for this. He’d have to be careful.

Felis, meanwhile, was pretty content to just stand and watch as things played out. He had plenty of Pokemon and little desire to be a trainer anymore. Sure he worked Elayne’s ranch, but she could add to the growing numbers of Pokemon of her own accord. Instead, he’d smile brightly. “Nice work!” was called towards the Mareep encouragingly.

At last Haiiro tossed out a Pokeball, a Shuppet who looked vaguely pissed to even be there right then. “Specter, take out the Stunfisk,” Haiiro ordered. “Will-o-Wisp then Hex,” he ordered. The slippery Ghost swayed and summoned up the small fire that would not exactly do damage but scar the Stunfisk. Launching it at his new foe, the Shuppet swayed ominously after.

On being hit, the Stunfisk cried out startled and winced from the pain of the burn. W-where had that come from? Looking around in the now surging terrain, he would see the Shuppet and yelp surprised. Forming a Flail, he launched himself at the Ghost only to fall straight through.

A sharp laugh broke from the Shuppet. Yeah, that wasn’t going to work for him. Forming a Hex, he smashed it against the Stunfisk causing him to fall over. Suffering the effects of the burn right after, the Stunfisk whined a bit.

“Not a bad tactic, Haiiro,” Felis commented softly.

Haiiro didn’t look sideways to see what expression the other man was wearing. From his tone, it was encouraging enough, but still. “Specter, Hex again,” he went on simply. Once more the Ghost formed the Hex and launched it at the Stunfisk, and once more with the Burn already there, he took more damage form it. In an effort to both cool himself off and do some damage back, the Stunfisk released a Muddy Water, starting to flood the area and crash against Specter. The Ghost hissed, flying sideways to avoid most of it but still taking some damage.

Haiiro frowned but wouldn’t be recalling the Ghost just yet. “Hex, again,” was all he said before the Ghost finished off the opponent. Falling sideways, the Stunfisk scrambled to get up, yet when the burn damage came again, he fainted. Haiiro exhaled. His battle had been a bit longer than Elayne’s (for obvious reasons), but it had come out alright. Vaguely he wondered whether to catch the Stunfisk or not, but— well, he had heard someone was looking for this particular brand of weird faced Pokemon back on the train. Exhaling, he fished out a Pokeball and threw it at the Fishy fish.

“Nice work both of you!” Felis smiled brightly. "You're both so good at battling~"

Haiiro finally glanced sideways and found his voice failing him again. Ugh.

The commotion would pull not only Elayne’s but Haiiro and Felis’s attention away from the stars. They both watched in relative silence as the Riolu battled the Nosepass, letting Elayne handle things as she would. As the battle seemed to prematurely end and Elayne went about searching for berries, however, Felis stepped forward. “Here,” he spoke softly taking the Riolu from her arms so that she could search easier. Haiiro, meanwhile, was searching through his own pockets before finding a berry bar that he’d bought and never eaten. Opening it and starting forward, he held it out to Felis who then took it and held it for the Riolu.

Just then, a Woobat swooped in and snatched the bar right out from Felis’s hand. A startled sound escaped form him, and Felis shifted sideways a bit too late. Blue eyes watched as the Woobat with the treat in its mouth started to fly away after. A ‘tch’ sound escaped from Haiiro as he watched the Woobat fly just out of reach. “Fuckin’…” Temper slightly flared at the stupid thing, Haiiro fished out a Pokeball from his jacket.

Releasing a Duskull, Haiiro gave an order right after. “Moonlit, Pursuit,” he demanded. Launched in the direction of the Woobat, it didn’t take the Duskull long to recognize what his target was. Throwing out his ghoulish arms, she lashed out at the Woobat, smacking it down some before it could get away. The Woobat cried out clearly started at being Pursued. Twirling around to stare at the Ghost Type, he tried a Heart Stamp, ramming into the Duskull with his nose. Struck by the move, the Duskull flailed momentarily before recapturing herself. It would take much more than that to do her in.

It was then that the Woobat chomped down and swallowed the berry bar, quickly regaining his strength again. Haiiro glowered. “Shadow Ball,” he ordered. The Duskull drew up the shadowy ball before launching it at her foe. Slammed by the move, the Woobat cried out, fluttering slightly from the force. Swooping his wings to form an Air Slash, he did his best to retaliate. “Move,” was all Haiiro had to say for the Duskull to fade sideways avoiding the air currents as they came. “Shadow Ball again,” Haiiro ordered. Summong up the sphere once again, the Duskull launched it at her foe, downing the Woobat this time.

Haiiro started walking over, but his shoulder was caught by Felis. Looking back, Haiiro frowned softly. Felis smiled a little. “I think that’s enough, Haii,” Felis assured quietly. “Elayne probably has some better treats in her bag anyways~ We did pick up quite a lot of Star Festival goodies.” Haiiro sighed regaining his stance and setting his thumbs in his pockets. Fine, whatever. Moonlit, meanwhile, floated around absently thereafter, watching as the Woobat slowly recovered and eventually flew off. Waving a ghostly arm again, she watched him flinch away and fly up faster. Heheheh, that was very amusing~ She was glad to have been released into such a fight.
