“Your drink, Miss…” A man in a pristine white shirt and black vest softly dropping a stalked glass down in front of her, Sophie Sequoia blinked before glancing toward her waiter with a smile and word of thanks as she was given something clear and with an olive sitting at the bottom. Sitting at a small round table that was all her own, as the man gave a gesture that seemed to be a mix of a nod and bow, the pink haired young woman gripped the base of her beverage gently but did not drink from it. It’s been a while since I’ve let my hair down, so to speak… Dressed with just a little bit of desire to impress, the headband that Sophie tended to sport was nowhere to be seen and with some irony toward her intent she had arranged her hair into something of an elegant little bun just behind the back of her head. The long fringe that usually covered her right eye still hanging freely but the pink locks that often hid her ears absent, she wore a set of sparkling stones in her lower lobes that dangled from studs, looking glamourous but perhaps humble at the same time. Shoulders almost bare except for a pair of spaghetti string straps, the silky dress that Miss Sequoia wore wrapped around her like a subtly shimmering tube, her frame covered in tight periwinkle blue all the way down to the middle of her thigh. Her ensemble completed with a pair of stiletto heeled shoes that were only a shade or two darker than the simple and sexy gown that she wore, the long legs of the tall woman were bare and tucked slightly to one side as she toyed with the drink she had been brought. Turning the broad chalice slowly around in front of her as a subtle sign of the nervousness she felt, while this was far from the first time that the femme had nursed a Martini, she felt a little bit awkward to be sitting her drinking alone. Naturally tending to be ‘social’ with a small circle of friends whilst she was a student or enjoying herself in an environment a little bit less pristine when she had been travelling, now that the position she occupied had afforded her a taste of something closer to the upper crust, Sophie couldn’t help feel a bit out of place. Though, I feel a bit rusty when it comes to this sort of thing? Having come to Veria as something of a stranger and not had a terribly large amount of time to foster friendships, though Miss Sequoia had felt a temptation to invite Luke along, she hadn’t for a couple of reasons. Assuming that someone with a somewhat shy and awkward tendency might not have taken to a night in a bar, Sophie had also wondered if that auburn haired boy would have even wanted to spend time with her? The recent change of her position from Pokémon League Professor to Arcadia’s head of research having the unintentional result of disconnecting and distancing them, while there was little bad blood between the pair it felt awkward to the girl to call up out of the blue and expect him at her beck and call. That was a notion that only made the lady feel even lonelier. Maybe I should just have this drink and go home? Finally lifting the funnel-like chalice to her lips and taking a short sip of her Martini, Sophie shook her head as she swallowed the strong taste of vermouth mixing with gin, feeling like an island of isolation and wondering if she might manage to find someone drifting in the sea around her… Notes: Hair BunDressShoesShaun Underwood

Shaun wasn't the fanciest of people, but he did like himself a fancy girl from time to time. They were weirdly...'rough'. They tended to be so reserved that when they got with a guy like him they didn't hold much back, and while the words of a more experience, genuinely rougher person could be trained, the words of a classy gal...well, since they had no experience with dirty talk, it was a lot more gutteral and lustful. They tended not to hold anything back, speaking their pleasure soaked minds rather than something that sounded sexy.
As such, with his boat parked in Caravella after selling some scrap to the shipyards, Shaun had put on his fanciest outfit, which for him was some tattered looking jeans, and a short sleeved black shirt with a tuxedo print on the front. He at least put on some black sneakers to match the shirt, so that was something. He did get a few odd looks even on his way to the bar, but with how few options people like him had in Caravella, it wasn't like they could justify turning him away. He even made sure to take a little precaution, walking up to a rather up-class bouncer like gentleman, and casually slipping a 20 into his palm with a handshake.
"I assure you I won't cause any trouble.~"
The man felt what was in his palm and returned a slow nod, stepping aside and holding the door open for him, Shaun himself striding inside, getting a few looks from people who weren't already engaged in their conversations. If his attire didn't point him out, the deep black tattoos up his right arm caught some attention themselves. Shaun ignored most of them, but flashed the odd classy lass a sly smile before taking a seat at the bar, ordering the cheapest thing they had so he could stay, and turning in his stool as the bartender prepared his drink, leaning back against the bar and spreading his arms across the top of it as he examined the 'menu' tonight.
Now which one of these little lass' can I get on my boat...~

I think perhaps it’s time to try somewhere else… Sighing softly as she lifted up her now nearly empty glass, though Sophie Sequoia had hoped that a night out in the ‘cultural capital’ of Veria had the potential to provide her with a little stimulation, she had discovered that while the clothing may have been better money did not always make for a better calibre of company. Regretting her decision to step out solo and tipping her drink back to finish it off, the beauty who had found only further loneliness and boredom with her endeavour swallowed her drink and placed the glass in front of her and shifted her weight ready to depart.
At least dive bars don’t tend to be dripping with pitiable pretence… Shaking her head softly and placing both of her hands on her table as she shifted her weight and made ready to stand up, Sophie let her eyes drift across the crowd and gave the bar one last sad scan as she readied to leave. However, as her vision drifted across this canvas, she found that something caught her eye.
What the…? The one visible eyebrow of Miss Sequoia arching as she thought she colour the colour of denim dance through her environment, for a moment the blue eyed beauty doubted what she had seen as a delusion brought on by the dullness that surrounded her before spotting something that seemed completely out of place. A pair of scruffy looking jeans seeming to rest against the bar that stood a dozen or so feet away from her, Sophie blinked as she looked up a sublime shape that they hugged and found something even more amusing to look at.
That’s… Almost ludicrously appropriate? A black t shirt printed with a motif that seemed to be a visual form of irony toward the environment, there seemed to be someone with rather a fetching figure of their own lingering near the counter, and for some reason began to giggle softly at the sight she had discovered…

Shaun's eyes crossed the bar / restaurant a few times, used to picking a good target by now as he took in the girls in the room. If Ruck was allowed in here, he'd be sqwuaking and pointing out a target by now in a hurry to get this over with, but Shaun was more patient, smirking faintly as his eyes finally met someone who was looking back at him in a non-pompous manner. As his drink was finally rested on the bar beside him, he'd reach back and take the chilled bottle, a careful sip to give him a bit of fuel to use, trying not to immediately look at the bottle in disgust at the taste of the posh swill these places called booze. Ugh. The shit he had to drink to get a hot poshie.
Pushing off the bar he'd stride across to the girl in the dress sitting down at her table, resting a hand on the back of a spare chair opposite her, giving her a wide grin as he asked quite simply. "This seat taken?~ Or were the stares and giggles not meant to say 'c'mere'?~" He spoke with a cheeky sense of bravado, but not overly so like some guys you'd find hitting on girls at cheaper bars.

Oh… The eyes of the amusingly dressed woman meeting hers, Sophie found her cheeks warming just a little as colour filled them, feeling a little bit embarrassed and worried that her giggling might have upset the other girl. I hope I didn’t hurt her feelings? Looking down for a moment before flashing a gentle smile that she hoped might convey a small apology at any offense she might have caused, the pink haired girl lifted her hand up and rested her cheek on it gently as she wondered what sort of ‘character’ would come into a place like this looking the way she did.
She’s coming over! The blue eyes of the beauty widening as she saw the brunette lurch from the bar and move toward her, Sophie felt a giddy little bit of a thrill as she watched the woman move closer to her, finding that the ‘view’ only got better the closer that this unknown young woman became. Heart racing a little as she felt a bit like a nervous schoolgirl again, the girl in the dress squeezed her hand a little as she tried to calm herself and wondered why such a simple action was stimulating her so much.
“Oh, h-hello!” The confusing response to the approach of this simply dressed siren making Miss Sequoia almost surprised when finally the other woman spoke, the usually confident scholar found herself stammering as she greeted this unknown girl. Shifting her position to sit up a little bit more straighter as she found herself suddenly rather self-aware, Sophie took in a deep breath as she tried to steady her nerves, thinking that her recent lack of social experience had left her a little bit rusty in that regard.
“You’d certainly be doing me a favour by sitting there~!” Finally answering the question of her apparent new friend after what had seemed to be an agonizingly slow second or two of bewilderment, the more assured part of the professor kicked in and she washed an open hand over the position to let her ‘guest’ know she wanted the company.
“Truth be told, I’d much rather a woman like you be sitting next to me than one of the pervy old men?” Smirking and leaning in a little closer to the girl in the Tuxedo T Shirt, Sophie hushed her voice a little as she made a playful joke, finding that her nerves compelled her to chatter somewhat inanely.
“A couple of fine foxes like us can take care of one another, can’t we?” Happy to finally have a little bit of company and finding that her conversation did wonders to allay the nerves she had been feeling, though she felt a little bit forward with her commentary Miss Sequoia was more relieved than anything to have been ‘rescued’ from her loneliness.
“I’m Sophie, by the way?” Rocking back and forward just an inch or two as the enthusiasm and excitement she felt got the better of her, the pink haired professor offered both her name and a gentle hand to the girl she had met, not aware just yet of the assumption she had made about this stranger as she jabbered along nervily…

Glad to see he was allowed the seat, SHaun decided to be a little cheeky with it all the same, hooking his hand into the hole in the back of the seat, twirling it about, and hoisting it over his shoulder as he moved around the table, giving Sophie a cheeky smirk as he placed it back down right beside Sophie rather than opposite her, leaning on an elbow and a chin on his hand as he looked int Sophie's eyes for a brief second, before his eyes washed over the mature woman's facial features, moreso her lips than anything else.
"Who Said I was gonna sit there? I just wanted the seat.~"
As Sophie continued to jibber a little, Shaun's eyes opened wider as he was referred to as a woman, but he didn't mind it so much. People made that mistake a lot and for fair reason, if anything it just brought a faint smirk as the pink haired classy lassy went on and he himself gave a light shrug. "Sorry to disappoint m'lady, but I'm all man. Thankfully I ain't old, but I'm a tad pervy, so fair warning.~" He'd give a cheeky wink that was soft enough to be either playful or genuinely flirty, enjoying subverting expectations. Sometimes Shaun would pretend to be a girl if it was what got the girl's interested, but right now he was just warming into the night, so he was willing to take a risk there.
"Won't deny though...we are a fine set of foxes...~" Shifting to lean back in his seat, crossing one leg casually over the other and folding his arms under his chest (it being clear he was likely wearing a push up bra this close up, even through his shirt), he let his eyes wash more blatantly over the mature woman opposite him now he'd turned in his seat. "Name's Shaun myself, pleasures yours legs.~"

All man? Having been reeling off conversation with such an unintentional determination that it took her a few seconds to really let what this oddly dressed person register in her mind, after offering her name Sophie found one thing in particular ringing through her mind like an echo. A cold feeling filling her stomach as she realized the mistake in her assumption, though the jaw dropping figure of her new friend had made it an easy error to make, Sophie still felt rather bad for doing so and was glad that he seemed rather relaxed in his correction.
“A-ah, sorry… I guess I just assumed you were um, cause uh…” Feeling like the issue had knocked her off balance a little as her eyes looked over the generous assets that this man held, the cheeks of Miss Sequoia shone with enough colour to make them overshadow her pink hair for a few seconds, but not for long. Nudged back to reality by the silly nickname of ‘Legs’ that he suddenly seemed to give her, Sophie snorted lightly and looked down at her own best feature as she enjoyed the compliment.
“It’s nice to make your acquaintance, Shaun…” Subtly moistening her lips before speaking again, Sophie shook her head from side to side slightly as she aimed to make a fresh start with this man and tried to make herself seem more sincere than she had been. They're... Huge! This earnestness perhaps a little undervalued as the position of her new friend couldn’t help but invite a little bit of a longing glance at the way that Shaun was puffing up his sizeable chest, once again the cheeks of Miss Sequoia shone as she found herself feeling a little bit jealous of the size that he had there.
“I suppose it seems that I’m a little bit of a perv in the right situation too!” Sophie suddenly realizing just how much she was ogling the chest of this near-stranger and giggling as she offered a playful little admission to match Shaun’s own, she laughed gently and leaned in a little bit closer to her companion. “So, I suppose I’ll forgive your habits if you’ll forgive mine?” Pulling a hand up to her neck absentmindedly to play with her hair before remembering that she had put it up in a bun, Miss Sequoia found herself running her nails lightly across the skin as she narrowed her eyes a little, studying the features of her new friend as she silently wondered all sorts of things about him…

Ah the flustered type. Shaun kept a little tally of how people reacted to the news of him being a guy. Some were confused, disgusted, stated disbelief. Some thought he was rocking a package, seemed Sophie was the kind to become more flustered and apologetic, which was one of the better reactions for Shaun...when he didn't wanna punch someone at least.~
"Hey, hey." Placing his drink down to one side, he held out his hands in a 'stop' motion with a faint smirk on his lips. "Calm down alright? Everyone makes the mistake the first time. Heck I'll be surprised if anyone every gets it right off the bat...so you're good yeah? First time's a freebie. Second I give you a dead arm, third I smash a bottle against the bar." His tone was...borderline joking, the kind where it was clearly a joke either way...but Sophie might feel there could be some truth behind him doing that. Still he held a strong enough smile to keep the mood light hopefully. "So you're good, just keep it memorized.~"
With the rather blatant stares Sophie was giving all the same, he felt his risk in revealing his gender payed off well enough, showing some teeth with his grin as, rather than eating up her with his own eyes, he just ate up the fact SHE was eating him up. Somehow that was even tastier from a classy looking girl like this. "Oh I'm sure I can forgive you...~"
Reaching for his drink, he'd take a light sip, trying to get used to the overly refined taste and not recoil at it, swallowing it down before offering a gesture as he asked. "So, what brings a girl like you to a place like this...You didn't sound offended when I said I was a guy, so I'm gonna guess you're not a part of the noble families.~"

“Oh my, such a gentleman!” Grinning and feeling her confidence returning as the situation seemed to grow quickly more casual between herself and Shaun, Sophie was happy and intrigued to discover someone she could be a little more ‘open’ with her interest with. The common perception seeming to be that one needed to keep their interest somewhat guarded in case of rejection, in many ways Sophie had found herself far fonder of an up-front approach. It seemed more efficient, and if a person happened to be heading toward a dead end easy to rectify and move on.
“Oh? Is it obvious I don’t fit in here?” Turning her attention away from the buxom young woman opposite her just long enough to order herself a fresh drink from a passing waiter, as the pink haired girl returned to facing Shaun she found a question waiting for her, which she gave a playful answer to initially before giggling.
“I think the best answer that I can offer you is that I was in the area and needed a night out, and this seemed like the most down to earth place I managed to find?” Shaking her head a little and making her loose fringe dance as she answered the query with a tad more seriousness, Miss Sequoia shifted her position to rest her head on her hand, leaning slightly as she looked at the friend she was making. "Truth be told, I had actually decided to leave until you caught my eye? Though I'm certainly not regretting you changing my mind one bit?" The openness and ease with which he talked seeming to put her at ease quickly, while Sophie had felt nervy for much of the evening even a few minutes with this man had loosened her up to no end. Yet there was a piece of his question that seemed to be quite absurd to her and she planned to promptly address it.
“Though, I’m not sure why someone with your… As you are, would be something to be offended by? Almost the best of both words in some ways, perhaps~” The ease with which she was feeling comfortable with her new companion coercing the usually collected and polite Miss Sequoia to show a little bit of kittenishness as she spoke, while she had added a gentle piece of flirtation toward the end, she did not see someone’s visual gender disharmony to be worth taking the time to be offended by? Sure there were traditionalists out there but really, in a world where one had all manner of magical little creatures running around on a daily basis, did this dissonance really seem such a bizarre thing?
“You’ve definitely got the best chest I’ve ever seen on a man, that’s for sure!” Grinning as she found her eyeline wanting to droop down again, perhaps compelled by the alcohol that by now was likely beginning to enter her system, Sophie couldn’t help but follow up on flirtation. “Oh, and what about you, hm? I’d say you seem a little out of place here as well!” Beginning to become quite taken by the beauty that sat before her, the young woman hardly noticed as the waiter came by and swapped her empty martini for a fresh one and simply licked her lips as she wondered where this suddenly exciting evening might take her…

Shaun's eyes dipped to the drink as it was replaced and smirked just a little, he could hold his own booze well, but he was also drinking much slower which worked to his advantage here. At the comment about Sophie not fitting in here, he gave a faint, casual shrug as he leaned back in his seat again, sitting in it sideways to face Sophie, an arm draped along what would be the back as she lightly tapped the side of her beer bottle with the other.
"Oh I wouldn't say you don't fit in...you've certainly got a sense of class and elegance that outshines most of the snooty bitches digging for gold here tonight...~" He shot a look over to a small group of women who were hanging about an older gentleman to prove his own point, chuckling as he continued. "I'm more just wondering why a girl like you would need a drink, but a good night out is always a good reason..."
He flashed a sharp toothed grin and narrowed his eyes, lifting his drink for a sip as he cheekily added. "Though I prefer a good night in...~"
The sip helping him to move on without lingering too much on his sly choice of wording, he took in Sophie's compliments with pride, resting a hand over his right breast and giving himself a rather blatant grope that actually seemed to earn an astonished gasp from across the room from someone who was still astonished he was even allowed in here.
"Best of both world's eh?~ I get the body of a hot chick, but you like the brain of a guy eh?~" He'd stop groping himself and lean forward again, looking into Sophie's eyes still as he tried to prod her verbally. "What would anyone want with a guy's brain...unless you like someone who's a little rough to talk to, hm?~" He wouldn't let Sophie linger on the question for too long as he answered the next, falling back into his seat again, arms crossed under his chest.
"As for why I'm here...I was in town, there ain't many bars my style unless I go into the shadier back alleys...and I much prefer not to get stabbed when I drunkenly shout at someone on my way back to my boat.~"

“A little roughness can be fun when used right~” Widening her eyes and smile for a moment as she offered Shaun a gentle little insight into her own tastes, Sophie couldn’t help but press her teeth lightly into her bottom as she found her new friend puffing his chest up for her again. Tempted to just reach out there and grab a cheeky handful of that bounty given how he seemed to enjoy flaunting such ample endowment, she closed her eyes and shook such a naughty notion away for the moment, instead snatching up her drink and taking a sip as something of a distraction.
A boat? Even more intrigued by the character opposite her as he answered her question with a nice bit of bait that she simply could not ignore, it made sense that someone like this would also be a visitor to this somewhat snobbish city but the assumption the Sophie might have made certainly did not involve maritime matters. “So, you’re a man of the sea?” Amused to imagine the bloke nearby dressed as a sailor or pirate and trying to restrain a giggle at the picture in her mind, the pink haired girl shifted her hand to softly run her finger back and forth underneath her lip as she dipped her toe a little more in the details of the delight she had discovered.
“Oh now that makes a lot of sense actually?” The smile of Miss Sequoia spreading as she felt even more playful and bit her lip again gently, with a small giggle the pink haired woman leaned in further toward Shaun, stopping only with her body only inches away as she rested a hand on his shoulder. “I can well imagine you to be the type who has a girl waiting for him in every port~” Voice slipping down into a whisper as she hung next to the ear of the man and teasing him gently, Sophie broke into a soft but sincere fit of giggles before slipping backward and flicking her hair as she relaxed, letting her hand ruin slowly down arm of this cheeky chap before retrieving it with a slightly hesitance…

At the comment of being a man of the sea, Shaun let out a cheeky snicker and nodded along. "Yeah that's one way to put it. I actually live in Pahalla, or, well, that's were I dock most of the time. My boat's actually where I make my home I guess, so I'm as close to living on the sea as you can get.~" It was a weird thought even for him, he liked to say he lived in Pahalla, but when his home was the boat, he could live practically anywhere if he wanted to now couldn't he?
As Sophie leaned in, Shaun was admittadly a little surprised, backing up a little, but not to the point Sophie would feel unwelcomed...hearing her worse, he blushed just a tad, but it was hidden well enough by his grin. "Yeah...or a few.~" He could feel a little spark as Sophie's hand trailed down her arm, letting her feel the smooth, but just faintly roughened skin and the clear muscle that was present through a layer of flesh, Shaun taking a confident swig of his bottle this time before placing it aside. "How about you lass...what brings such an elegant lady to town? From the way you hold yourself I'd say you come from old money but...heh. I've never seen a lass with as much confidence as you who dosn't pay her own way. What you do for a livin?" As if anticipating the return question, he added his own answer. "I'm just in town selling some fish and scrap myself, some things just fetch a higher price here.~"

“Oh, Pahala? You know, it seems strange to admit it but I’ve only really been to the old town, not the new one, so far?” Noting and enjoying the very subtle blush that either her teasing touch or remark had stirred in Shaun, Miss Sequoia relaxed into her chair again as she thought of the southern port of Veria. Having now been in the region for more than half a year but her work in the lab depriving the young researcher of the chance to take in all the sights, Sophie recalled a short and fruitful ‘tour’ of the Pahala ruins and realized she had given little time to the town that had been born from them. The next question of her companion quickly washed away that recent reminiscence, however.
“Heeheehee, seems you’ve been fooled by my accent, Shaun!" Practically giddy with the assumption that her foxy friend had made for some reason, while the nervousness she had been feeling had largely disappeared from her now, Sophie’s energy and excitement remained and was shown as she bounced upward in her chair like a soldier coming to attention. "It’s something I largely picked up from my uncle and in university, I think?” Dropping much of the cooler and more collected aspects she wore when in a more guarded mood and showing that around people she felt comfortable she was much more of a lively lady than she might at first seem, Miss Sequoia puffed out her chest proudly in response to her unintentional duplicity and began to babble away once more.
“Well, I suppose the family was hardly poor, but would you be surprised to learn my father was a baker?” Feeling somewhat like the more ‘working class’ aspects of her history might in some way impress her down to earth company, Sophie shone with a smile as she spilled some of the details of her history to the handsome man next to her.
“My mother ran her own business so that’s where we got a lot of my money, but I spent a lot more time with my uncle growing up?” Grinning broadly and offering an insight into both herself and an explanation for the little mistake her companion had made, as she remembered the times she had spent as a little girl in her uncles lab the smile of Miss Sequoia grew wide and her body seemed to fill with a warmth that no amount of alcohol could match.
“He was a Pokémon Researcher in Unova, that’s where ah’m frahm, ya know?” Mood only being lifted by the memories that the moment was flooding her mind with, with a playful twang Sophie played up an accent she had largely forgotten in her time in learning and laboratories. Tending to have become far more accustomed to what might be considered a ‘proper’ manner of speech when dealing with matters of learning, the pink haired girl found a goofy and giddy thrill in emulating an accent she had heard a lot when she was young…

"Oh trust me lass, that ain't as weird a thing as you might think. Pretty sure a tonne of looters get to old Pahalla before the main city." He used looters faintly sharply but without the intention to. It had sometimes become a bit of a slur in Pahalla to refer to people who went to old Pahalla, seeing as those all used to be homes and such, so it felt like a natural part of his dialect now. Shaun himself went to the ruins regularly searching for loot and old scrap to sell, so he wasn't meaning anything by using it sharply himself. He lightly nudged the side of Sophie's leg with her foot, smirking. "You should get to main Pahalla sometime though, I'd love to show ya around.~"
Taking another sip of his beer, he gave a curious look to the lass as she mentioned the accent fooling him...oh? She was from Unova of all places? He hadn't seem that coming, they didn't tend to have the poshest history, but when that accent finally came, Shaun nearly spat his drink and snickered into his palm as he covered his mouth to avoid making a mess, shaking his head and letting out a tender sigh. "Damn, did not see that coming...or hear it.~"
"Still though, I was more asking what you're doing today lass. I always like to know more about a gal but you're avoidin the question there.~"

Giggling and covering her mouth up as her overblown attempt at her native accent made Shaun spit his drink out, while the act seemed to create a small stir among the guests and staff around them, Sophie was by now far too invested in her companion to even notice the minor commotion they had caused. “Well, don’t the best girls come with a few surprises~?” Giddy with the amusement that she had provided her partner and feeling ever more playful with every little laugh that the two of them shared, after flicking her hair away from her face for a second, Miss Sequoia finished her playful remark with a wink toward her equally astonishing companion.
“Oh! Yes, sorry… Seems I’m a little keen on bearing all to you?” The little giggle that they shared dying down and the flirty femme being reminded that her companion had asked about what she was up to now, without even thinking about it Sophie sent another teasing remark before delving into the issue at hand. “Right, so yes… What I’m up to currently?” Finally beginning to getting around to quenching the curiosity of her company, the blue eyed girl paused for a few seconds idly as she tried to think of a way to tell him what she did in a way that seemed relatable. Enjoying the chance to talk with Shaun on a more down to earth basis, Miss Sequoia felt a little bit intimidated in broaching the subject of her job, as it seemed like the sort of thing that might make the impression she gave change quickly.
“Well, what I do is… I only started rather recently, but I’m actually an executive and the head of research at a new institute called Arcadia?” Taking a breath and running the tip of her finger around the rim of her glass as she addressed the issue with an odd amount of shyness, it wasn’t that Sophie felt ashamed of her job and in fact the opposite, but rather her reluctance was born from a desire to keep a kind of ‘even keel’ with her companion. Enjoying the role of just being a ‘girl in a bar’ and suddenly feeling herself a little bit disappointed to reveal something that some might have found intimidating, the smile of Miss Sequoia faded a little as she waited for what Shaun might make of the revelation…
