The best part of having a gym in the middle of nowhere, in Zane's opinion, were the ruins. Granted, they were pretty unstable, but that was half of the adventure, right? You know, until he got injured and couldn't run his gym anymore. A quick shake of the head helped Zane dismiss the thoughts as he approached the ruins. Darkness was comforting to the man, and were pretty good for bringing the kind of pokemon he had grown fond of. There was, however, the always unpredictable nature of the creatures that could bring anything to these places. A quick click turned on the fladight from Zane's phone, giving him at least a small bit of lighting to see where he was walking. Stepping on a Pokemon never crossed the man's mind, but it could happen, and boy would that be a bad day in the neighborhood for the gym leader

Hoooo boy. Lets go.Pc here for reference Cofagrigus - Mummy 1. Female: Night Shade/Ominois Wind/Scary Face/Will-o-wisp 2. Female: Ominous Wind/Hex/Night Shade/Shadow Ball 3. Male: Grudge/Hex/Will-o-wisp/Shadow Ball 4. Male: Night Shade/Grudge/power split/Disable 5. Female: power split/will-o-wisp/hex/haze Zane had not expected to find a horde of pokemon, let alone a horde of Cofagrigus on his journey. Normally, one would probably try to avoid five possessed coffins, but not Zane. No no, this would be, admittedly stupid, but good training for some of his younger Pokémon. Maybe that wasn't actually such a good idea though, considering it would be pitting young lions against fully grown ones who had obviously seen some battles in their day. He nodded once, confident that he could pull it off and sent forth an alolan Rattata, Zorua, Inkay, Alolan-Grimer, and a Poochyena. Boy was this going to be difficult.
Petaya, the Rattata, had a fairly easy time against the large, possessed Coffin. On command, she lunged to bite it, but the coffin swayed away, trying to blast her with a hard gust of wind. The problem was that Petaya was unfazed by ghostly moves, but managed to fail herself with a quick attack. Not to be made a fool, the coffin tried to wisp the rat, but she used another quick attack to avoid it. She landed close to the coffin, which made a really spooky face, and scared Peta, who bit it in response. Being latched on to the coffin meant she couldn't avoid the second wisp. She could, however, work herself up and lunge again, but missed. The coffin blasted her again, though it didn't do anything, but annoy the rat. Despite the burn having sank in on the rat a few times now, she leapt to bite the coffin again, causing the first one to drop.
Illu didnt have quite the same easy time, but her battle was definitely the fastest of the five. The two didnt bother to go easy on one another. Illu opened with a taunt that, albeit was pointless, served to annoy the Cofagrigus. It responded with a Shadow Ball, blasting the small fox rather hard. Suddenly, she vanished, only to reappear on the coffin, and smacked it rather hard. Not pleased with the fox being on its body, the coffin stirred up a strong wind that blew the Zorua off, and hard into the ground. Illu took on a purple hue around her outline, Plotting on how she was going to win, blasting her opponent with a telekinetic burst. She avouded the incoming ghostly energy, and ended her opponent with another psychic burst.
Next up was the Inkay, who had quite a painful battle with the coffin. Her opening consisted of taunting and then pecking the Cofagrigus. It only served to annoy the coffin, who tried to Hex Squirt , but she avoided it. Her follow up was putting up a Light Screen to avoid getting rolled on by the large coffin, but her beam of psychic energy missed. This was quickly followed by a Shadow Ball smashing into the squid, though it hurt a lot less than it could of. Another beam of psychic energy followed, but the coffin was thinking ahead, and gave squirt a painful Hex. Squirt spun around, and charged the Cofagrigus, hitting it with a foul move, only to get floored with another shadow ball. The inkay wasnt ready to give up, and charged the coffin again, but bounced herself off it to avoid the second ball. Squirt spun around, and sent one last psybeam at the Cofagrigus to finish it off.
And then there was the Grimer. Zane had to admit that he was probably not a good choice for something like this, but he needed training too. The man learned quickly that the decision was infact bad as the battle was.. Long. At first, cuchulainn used his armor then tossed gunk at the coffin, who answered with a burst of ghost energy. That was about the only exciting part because the second time Grimer used Acid Armor, the Cofagrigus disabled it, and it came down to a battle of Gunk Shot v Night Shade. Every few uses, one would avoid the move, but Cuchulainn managed to avoid the coffin a few more times, and got it down with one final gunk shot.
Finally came the Poochyena, who was trying to outdo illu in the quick battle department. Karen opened with a taunt and a failed bite, only to get hexed. She wasn't going to be detered though, and howled before lunging again to bite the coffin. A second hex came, but karen was quick to avoid this one, shifting to bite again. She was quickly blasted by the hex this time around, but quickly straightened up to go on the offensive again. She missed this time, but the coffin created an icy haze this time, dropping Karen back to her base stats. A huff came from the pooch as she lunged one last time, finishing the coffin with a bite.
Zane smiled at his team, knowing that, bar Petaya, they took quite a beating. They had all managed to come out on top though, and the man tossed an ultra ball at each of the coffins.

Zane brought all of his pokemon back to their respective balls, and continued on with his capture successful. As he moved a bit further , he came across a Litwick in the ruins. Now then, five of his pokemon were pretty beaten up, and his sixth one might be a bit of an overkill, but he needed the back up, just in case things went south. He sighed and sent out his Sableye, Link, "Were not too hard on the little thing, alright bud? Don't be a pushover though." Luckily, the little candle seemed up to the challenge, and started with a Shadow Ball.
Link, not to be outdone, countered with his own, but soon found himself on the receiving end of a Flame Burst. Link was thrown off by the aggressive nature that he didn't realize that the Litwick was using Fire Spin to trap him. This was something that was, unfortunately, familiar to the tiny creature, and he responded with a burst of electricity dropping on the Litwick. Confused in it's own right, the candle wasnt sure how it had been hit, only that it was, but didn't see the incoming rocks from Link's power gem. Link, being a Ghost, was able to phase his way from the Fire Spin but took a shadow Ball for his efforts. After a moment to use recover, Link waggled his fingers and lobbed his own shadow ball at the Litwick, ending the battle, and letting Zane attempt to catch it.
